Junko Hirata (born October 9, unknown year, in Saitama, Japan), better known by the artistic name Ayane, is a Japanese singer and lyricist. She is an usual performer of themes for anime, video games and especially visual novels.

Ayane debuted as a singer in 2004 releasing the single "Kizuna", which would be used as opening theme for W~Wish. Her specialization in soundtrack of visual novels started when she joined franchises like Memories Off, Higurashi: When They Cry and 11eyes, which composed the main part of her career for years while she diversified into side projects, some of them under her real name and some for the band platoniX, of which she was part.

Her music style varies heavily between works, going from light and chipper to solemn and trascendent, but she always stands out for her powerful, vibrant voice and dance pop/rock vibes.

Not to be confused with fellow singer Ayana or seiyu/singer Ayane Sakura.
