MamaYuyu (魔々勇々) is an adventure shonen manga created by Hayashi Yoshihiko, which began serialization in Weekly Shonen Jump on September 10th, 2023 and ended on April 7th, 2024 with 29 chapters with an extra one to be included with the release of its' fourth and final volume on August 2nd.

For 800 years, the continent of Persimott had been locked in a conflict between the humans and their Heros and the demons and their Demon Lords. That is until the Hero Halohalo sacrificed his life in order to end the war and establish an era of coexistence.

18 years later, the current hero Corleo lives a peaceful life with his adoptive mother and current Demon Lord, Mamama. This all changes when a hero from another world appears, followed by the Demon Lord of his world. Now with other Heroes and Demon Lords popping up all over the place, Corleo and his allies set out to find the reason behind these strange circumstances.

Tropes:

  • Added Alliterative Appeal: The names of the Sigil Sorceries follow this pattern, such as Shadow Swimmer, Fortify Force, Ignited Inferno, and Corpse Conclave.
  • Anti-Hero: Evan's past had caused him to become rather coldhearted, killing anyone he needed to, friend or foe. Corleo is able to remind him what it means to be a hero.
  • Bequeathed Power: In the process of healing Corleo, Evan passes down the power of his sigil onto him, allowing Corleo to use Evan's skills such as levitation and healing.
  • Birthmark of Destiny: Both Heroes and Demon Lords have a symbol that appears on their hand when the previous Hero or Demon Lord dies to mark them as the next one. Heroes have a yellow dot surrounded by four crescent moon shapes on their right hand. Demon Lords have five black dots in an x formation on their left hand.
  • Combo Platter Powers: Unlike the other Heroes and Demon Lords shown so far, Evan's sigil allowed him to use multiple different abilities, which were subsequently passed down to Corleo after Evan's sacrifice.
  • Culture Clash: The worlds of the displaced Heroes and Demon Lords have radically different cultures and technological levels, causing trouble when they meet others with entirely different values than them. In Ralfred's world, Hospitality for Heroes is the norm, so he dine and dashes with reckless abandon because he can't understand the idea of No Hero Discount.
  • Cut Short: The manga was cancelled after only 29 chapters due to low readership.
  • Deliberate Injury Gambit: Corleo allows Ralfred to impale him with his flame sword so that Corleo can knock him out with one full force punch.
  • Either/Or Offspring: Escaba and his sister Wulvida were both born between a human and a demon, but Wulvida is a human while Escaba is a demon.
  • Fish out of Temporal Water: The Heroes and Demon Lords all come from worlds with varying levels of technological advancement. Both Elysia and Escaba are unfamiliar with the concept of electricity, while Minerva's worldnote  have pop idols and CDs.
  • Half the Man He Used to Be: Corleo gets cut in half by Demon Lord End after pushing Evan out of the way. Thankfully, Evan is able to heal him, at the cost of his own life.
  • Hospitality for Heroes: In Ralfred's world, it was the norm for people to help the Hero free of charge, such as providing room and board on their journey. This mindset gets Ralfred into a lot of trouble when eh gets thrown into Persimott, as he dine and dashes constantly because he's not used to paying for services.
  • Humanity's Wake: In Minerva's world, all of humanity was wiped out over 1000 years before, leaving the demons as the ones to live on and progress.
  • Object-Shaped Landmass: Persimott is shaped like a plus sign.
  • Older Than They Look: Mamama, despite looking more like a child, is actually 38 years old.
  • One Person, One Power: How sigils typically work, as they grant their wielder one special ability alongside general physical enchancement.
  • Punny Name: The mascot of the Tiurf Amusement Park is named Punch. Tiurf is Fruit backwards. Fruit Punch.
  • Scary Teeth: The Demon race has pointy teeth as a prominent trait, alongside their horns.
  • Working Off the Debt: After catching Ralfred, Corleo, Minerva, and Elysia have to help him work off his debt for all the dine and dashing he's done. Minerva and Elysia work as maid servers, while Ralfred and Corleo wash dishes and do deliveries.
  • Wutai: The world Monika and Sadico come from seems to be this, as they both wear Japanese clothing, compared to everyone else who wears either modern or medival clothing.
