  • If protecting and keeping test subjects alive for the future was such an important thing, why were only 5 people ever frozen? Surely the scientists would want more than 5 people to see the future?
    • They were the last subjects brought in for testing before the situation outside deteriorated so badly, they couldn't even abduct any more people. The photos and documents littered about the complex show there were hundreds, if not thousands, of subjects.
  • Why do transfurs that don't result in Death of Personality count as Game Overs? Even if he's not human, Colin could presumably still carry on. Special mention goes to the Bad Ending where Puro transfurs the human into another dark latex wolf, and it's confirmed Colin is still himself in mind.
  • Why do the latex seagulls not try to transfur the human? Is it just so blindly loyal to the pirate Squid Pups that it tries to distract the human long enough for them to get Colin? Is it incapable of transfurring? If so, how can the latex crows transfur Colin?
    • It seems to depend on the phlebotinum. Different latex batches seem to be more or less stable than others? For example the Skunk creature can only infect others via the canisters of latex gas that created it. The Yeen goo beasts can only assimilate by cuts or lacerations to the skin.
  • Where exactly did the fishing squid dog get her fishing rod from? It's not likely there'd be one in a science lab, and even if there was it's unlikely it'd be kept near the aquarium so as to not potentially hurt the animals.
    • Either from a scientist’s locker, or more likely, from the city, since the latex beasts have taken over now that humans are gone. The aquarium maybe connected to waterways and rivers outside.
  • If the Dark Latex Wolves are tight pack animals who are firmly against the idea of solitude, why is the Dark Latex Wolf cub in the Vents so far from home by itself? Why did it choose to travel all that distance away from its pack, and why did it go alone?
  • Given Puro and the Stiger being depicted raising Fantastic Livestock and the former growing oranges, it seems latex beasts still need to eat. Just what exactly ends up happening to Colin offscreen in the event he gets 'transfurred' into a creature that has No Mouth or completely no face?
    • The latex beasts are like amoebas, they can just engulf and ingest any organic matter by touch alone. They don't need appendages or limbs (or organs) to sustain themselves.
  • A large amount of 'transfurs' have Colin's pants get ripped or torn off by the monster that absorbed him. But others just disappear, with no explanation given.
    • Maybe with them being benign latex, other latex beasts can assimilate them too?
    • Probably an example of The Law of Conservation of Detail, because every single 'transfurmation' would require extra scenes being animated just to show the pants coming off, which would be a nightmare for the developer to include.
  • If the Prototype was the farthest humanity ever got in making true AI, why does the IGCT act so self-aware and human-like? Even if the IGCT isn't truly intelligent, it's clearly much moreso than the Prototype, so it seems strange that the latter is considered more advanced.
    • The IGCT has managerial subroutines and acts a Human Resources stand-in due to shortage of real staff. A website thanking you for making an online purchase isn't an example of intelligence - its programmed to respond that way. Prototype isn't a terminal, but a machine that tries to think and act in the real three-dimensional world, which of course, often results in Blue Screen Of Death when it gets information overload.
  • It's established several times by Puro and Dr. K that the former is among the only truly intelligent latex beasts in the building alongside a small few others like the Elder One. With that in mind, how do the Gargoyle latex beasts know what gargoyles and Chess are?
    • The evolving monsters definitely have intelligence, though are behaving like Starfish Aliens. Some are more astute and aware about their surroundings, as hunters, than other creatures searching for prey. Mimic-type latex beasts like Yuin have no clue what a Save Point or television screen are, other than its something the humans they seek to consume are drawn to and captivated by. The Gargoyles have seen Chess and classic stock poses of statues somewhere before, and seek to imitate them to lure in unsuspecting humans. Were a latex beast longing to assimilate you somehow able to fake a telephone conversation with you... it would.
