As a Moments subpage, all spoilers are unmarked. You have been warned.

  • When Max starts making threats, he mockingly turns to Jason and asks if he should let Peter off with a warning. Jason enthusiastically agrees he should before Max berates him.
  • Max's entrance after "Cool As I Think I Am" starts with him telling the audience to shut up and stop applauding.
  • Steph thinks the situation at Waylon Hall stinks, and immediately gets three simultaneous apologies from Ruth, Richie, and Grace.
Richie: I have overactive sweat glands.
    Ruth: I'm allergic to deodorant.
Grace: Bathing's not safe for me right now.
  • Peter emerges in his ghost costume. Almost before anyone in the audience can find his early 19th-century garb topped by his natural long black hair strangely familiar...
Peter: Okay, Richie, be honest: am I reading as "ghost" or "Lin-Manuel Miranda"?
  • The scene where Max is killed by accident leads to the main cast reacting with horror and shock and wondering what to do. And then Grace almost immediately segues into "Bury the Bully", to everyone else's utter shock.
    • The immediate reaction:
Grace: (starts snapping her fingers in line with what she did in "Bully the Bully")
    • Soon after:
Grace, singing: We're gonna hack all his limbs off! (Piano slam)
Steph: Did you say "hack all his limbs off?" (Piano slam)
Grace, still singing and with the same cheerful expression: Yeah! We're gonna hack all his limbs off- (Piano slam)
Steph: Can you stop saying it?!
    • The fact that it is Grace of all people to suggest covering up Max's death.
  • Steph's horrified "You want me to film this?!" in 'Bury the Bully.'
  • Ruth claiming that the telemarketer calling her is actually her boyfriend.
  • The scene transition after Max's disappearance:
Donna the News Anchor: We can only hope [the mayor's speech brings] some comfort to Max's classmates, who have already endured two weeks of heartache.
(the lights come up to reveal Kyle and Brenda intensely making out)
Kyle: This has been the best two weeks of my life!
  • After getting respect for the first time in a while from the football team, Richie comments about how happy he is in an aside and proclaims how happy he is to be alive...which becomes Black Comedy as the audience gradually remembers that the show began with his corpse being found.
  • Mark Chasity, like Professor Hidgens before him, has just the right personality to pull off an incredibly stale old vaudeville gag:
Mark: (on the phone) So, the home inspectors got there this morning? What did they find? (listens) You don't say. You don't say! Well, I'll be down there in a jiffy. (hangs up)
    Grace: What'd they find, Dad?
    Mark: They didn't say.
  • Most fans agree there's something inexplicably funny about Dan Reynolds singing the words "I am Dan Reynolds."
  • Grace Chasity's... unhinged declaration that Ruth's dead.
Steph: Are we in trouble? Do we need to get a hold of Ruth?
Grace: Good luck getting a hold of her! Does your phone plan cover calls to hell?
    Steph: ...Hell?
Grace: She's bisexual and dead, where else would she be?!
  • While being taken away in Shapiro's squad car, the three leads try to explain to Shapiro what's really going on.
Grace: Detective Shapiro, are you a woman of faith?
    Shapiro: Catholic.
Grace: I'll take that as a no. Um, imagine you're a good Christian. Sometimes you have to listen to people and believe what they say, even if it sounds crazy, against everything you know, in spite of all common sense...
Peter: Grace, you are the least fucking persuasive person!
  • When the Lords in Black tell the teenagers they must give up what they cherish most:
    • The way the Lords in Black responded in such an angry, exasperated manner implies Steph was not the first one to have offered her phone up as a sacrifice.
    • Adding to it, Peter can be seen shaking his head at Steph and grabbing her arm, as if pleading for her not to give up her phone.
