- Betty and Veronica: Hermione's crushes have very contrasting personalities. While Blair is sweet, caring, understanding, and has nothing against Hermione's sexuality, Bellatrix is rude, inconsiderate of Hermione's feelings, and homophobic.
- Brainy Brunette: Hermione has dark hair, loves studying, and is as much of an A student as she's in canon. She reads a lot and because of that often has "eureka!" moments when she recalls that she "has read about this somewhere".

- Recurring Dreams: Hermione has recurring dreams about herself, Ron, and Harry being friends and fighting against Voldemort together, which turn out to be the fragments of her Alternate Self's life. She writes them down in her diary.

- Sour Outside, Sad Inside: Bellatrix appears as snarky, selfish, and arrogant, however, later in the fic, there have been hints at her tragic past and the trauma related to said past.
