James Joseph Broderick III (March 7, 1927 – November 1, 1982) was an American actor. He was best known for Alice's Restaurant, The Taking of Pelham One Two Three, and Family.
Broderick became an actor after serving in the U.S. Navy as a Pharmacist's Mate. He was married to playwright and artist Patricia Biow Broderick and the couple had three children, including actor Matthew Broderick. He died of thyroid cancer at the age of 55.
