Mary William Ethelbert Appleton Burke (August 7, 1885 – May 14, 1970), better known as Billie Burke, was an American actress of screen and stage, best known for playing Glinda the Good Witch in The Wizard of Oz.
Burke was married to the well-known Broadway impresario Florenz Ziegfeld Jr., with whom she had one daughter. She is portrayed by Myrna Loy in the 1936 biopic The Great Ziegfeld.
