Annette Joanne Funicello (October 22, 1942 – April 8, 2013) was an American actress and singer. Her career began at the age of twelve as she rose to prominence as the most popular Mouseketeer on the original run of The Mickey Mouse Club. Afterwards she transitioned to singing, and films as a teenager, during which time she scored Top 10 hits with "Tall Paul" and "O Dio Mio" and popularized the “Beach Party” genre alongside fellow singer/actor Frankie Avalon.

She died of complications from multiple sclerosis on April 8, 2013.
