Desert Ghost

Xi'an Chi Xan

• A Sinister Clue: His primary power, to corrode and rot things away, appears on his left hand.
• Desert Bandits: Apropos for his mutant codename, "Desert Ghost", his costume seems to be based on the apparel worn by populations of desertic areas.
• Healing Hands: When he is introduced, he has only powers to corrode stuctures on his left. After an assassination attempt against him, he develops a healing ability on his right hand, which he tries to use on Tina's dying body, but is unable to revive her.
• Make Them Rot: His primary powers were to corrode things, as shown in the first issue, when he uses his left hand to destroy a nearby brick wall.

Cerebra

Shakti Haddad

• The Cameo: She appeared in Spider-Man 2099 vol.3 as part of the Resistance against SHIELD.
• Meaningful Name: Shakti is a term that's commonly interpreted to refer to psychic ability.
• Sensor Character: Lives up to her name by using her powers to detect other mutants.
• Telepathy: As her name implies, she's a telepath.

Skullfire

Timothy Fitzgerald

• Dem Bones: Using his powers makes him look like a glowing skeleton.

Krystalin

Ruth Ogada

• Gemstone Assault: Krystalin is capable of extracting minerals from the atmosphere to form hard crystalline constructs of various shapes and sizes.

Bloodhawk

Lemuel Krug

• Good Wings, Evil Wings: His mutant power is to transform himself into a red demonic-looking creature with red bat-like wings. He's still part of the heroes' team, though.
• Winged Humanoid: As Bloodhawk, he possesses large wings like those of a bat.

Metalhead

Edward Osako

• Chrome Champion: Can turn his body into metal.
• Overly Long Name: His full name is Edward van Beethoven-Osako.

La Lunatica

• Only Known by Their Nickname: Her real name has never been revealed.
• Our Vampires Are Different: She is a psychic vampire who feeds on traumatic, repressed memories of those she touches.

Sham

Diamonda LaSalle

• Facial Markings: Has a sun over her right eye.
• Master of Illusion: Her power is to cast illusions.
• Chrome Dome Psi: She's completely bald and is an expert at casting illusions, both visual and auditive.

Meanstreak

Henri Huang

• Alliterative Name: Both his name and last name begin with 'H'.
• Super-Speed: As part of the main mutant cast, he is the only one with superspeed, being able to run at incredible speed.
• The Speedster: He's the 2099 X-Men resident speedster.

Serpentina

Kimberly Potters

• Odd Name Out: She's the only member of the X-Men whose name isn't dark and edgy.
• Rubber Man: More like rubber woman, but she can stretch her limbs.
• Tattoo as Character Type: She has the tattoo of a snake running around her arms.
