Quirk: One For All*, Quirkless (formerly)

The main protagonist of the story and the ninth bearer of the Quirk, One For All. After being bullied and ridiculed due to attempting to become a hero despite not having a Quirk, All Might notices Izuku's drive and chooses the boy to be his successor.

  • Accidental Murder: Kills Shigaraki in self-defense with Fa-Jin by punching and breaking his neck, causing him to enter a Heroic BSoD.
  • Adaptational Angst Upgrade: Izuku has it much worse here than in canon. He has deal with his overprotective mother, who doesn't believe that he can be hero and is using any excuse to pull him out of U.A. Izuku also has to deal with the backlash of getting kidnapped by the League of Villains, which resulted in All Might losing his remaining power after defeating All For One, which caused Izuku to feel guilty, believing that he's responsible for putting an end to the Symbol of Peace. If that wasn't bad enough, he also has the deal with the pressue of being the successor to All Might's Quirk, One For All, which has been revealed to the world.
  • Adaptational Badass: This version of Izuku is much more stronger than in canon. As he was able to achieve Full Cowling earlier than compared to canon. He even later unlocks the other Quirks of One For All much earlier.
  • Awesomeness by Analysis: Due to not having a Quirk of his own, Izuku has spent years observing other heroes and how they use their Quirks, developing a keen eye for analysis and has jointed down several notes on Heroes and their Quirks in multiple journals. All Might even gave him a list of Quirks of the students who will be attending U.A. so that they can get an idea on what to improve on.
  • Badass in Distress: Gets kidnapped during the Internships Arc by the flying Nomu and held hostage by the League of Villains.
  • It's All My Fault: Izuku blames himself for being kidnapped by the League of Villains which indirectly led to the final battle of All Might and All For One occurring much early. Izuku blames himself for society now lacking its Symbol of Peace, despite many people telling he shouldn't blame himself for things beyond his control.
  • Hates Their Parent: Izuku resents his father for leaving him and Inko. When Inko admonishes him for yelling at Hisashi by saying that he is his father, Izuku unhesitatingly says that Hisashi lost the right to be called that when he left them.
  • Nice Guy: Izuku is easily one of the kindest person you will ever meet as he was willing to save anyone who is in need of help. This rule even extends to villains, as he was horrified when accidently killed Shigaraki, stating that he could've found a way to save him and pull him out of the path of villainy.
  • Super-Strength: With the power of One For All, he is easily one of the strongest students in his class.
  • Un-Sorcerer: Izuku was one of the few people in the world to be born without a Quirk, which caused him to be the victim of insufferable bullying and racist remarks.
  • Willfully Weak: The only reason Izuku's fight with Bakugo at the Provisional Licence Exam lasted as long as it did was because Izuku was holding back. The author even makes clear had Izuku fought at full strength, he would've defeated Bakugo with no issue.

    Kyoka Jiro

Kyoka Jiro — Heartsong

Quirk: Earphone Jack

A snarky, tomboyish, and talented musician who met Izuku while he was training at Dagobah beach and became his first real friend and later, his girlfriend. Her Quirk, Earphone Jack, gives her long elongated earlobes that resemble aux cables that allow her to hear sounds better than most.

  • Adaptational Badass: In canon, Kyoka is known for reconnaissance and has a few offensive abilities. Here, she learns some martial arts as well as finding more ways to use her Quirk offensively.
  • Bizarre Human Biology: Her Quirk, Earphone Jack, gives her elongated earlobes that resemble aux cable jacks.
  • Boxing Battler: Kyoka picks up some martial arts early in the story which she uses in tandem with her Quirk.
  • Deadpan Snarker: She's known for giving out plenty of dry remarks.
  • It's All My Fault: She blames herself for hesitating out of fear during the battle against Stain, which resulted in Izuku getting kidnapped by a flying Nomu.
  • Living Emotional Crutch: Kyoka is the person Izuku turns to whenever he needs to open up or explain what's troubling him.
  • Relationship Upgrade: Both she and Izuku started off as close friends and later became a couple down the line.
  • Sensor Character: She works mostly as a reconnaissance hero, but is still capable of kicking ass.
  • Super-Hearing: Her jacks allow her to pick up and hear sounds that are not very audible to most people. She can even insert them into surfaces to listen in on what's on the other side.
  • Sensory Overload: Her enhanced hearing can be used against her, if exposed to too much noise as Kyoka will be overwhelmed.
    • In fact, when she destroys the Zero-Pointer in the Entrance Exam with a large soundwave by tuning her heartbeat, Kyoka couldn't hear anything for a moment; not from her surroundings, anyone else, not even her own heartbeat or breathing. She rushes to Ochako where she desperately yells at her to say something to prove she can still hear. Fortunately, she still could.
