The Judges / Garden Workers

The year-round inhabitants of the Endgrove who help keep the garden up and running.

    Blanca
Blanca has tended the Endgrove ever since she came of age. Her loyalty to her duties has kept her there, despite the costs.
  • Beleaguered Boss: Not only has the Corruption pushed Blanca to the limit, but she is often exasperated by her lackeys. In Round 1, Blanca is shown to be annoyed by Caesarion's negative backtalk.
  • Caring Gardener: Blanca knows everything about all the flora (and fauna) in her domain, from how to make them thrive to keeping them under control. This makes it all the more distressing to her that the corruption has now turned them aggressive and wild.
  • Voluntary Shapeshifting: She can switch between a humanoid and gazelle form.

    Caesarion
Caesarion is more interested in garden upkeep than the competitors' lives. The best way to get on his nerves would be to disturb the plant life or whatever project he is currently attending.
  • Green and Mean: His often nasty demeanor paired with the pigmentation caused by his chlorophyll skin.
  • Non-Human Undead: He was resurrected by a female of his species, Alice. He now works in semi-indentured servitude for Blanca and the garden, per an agreement between Blanca and Alice.
  • More Deadly Than the Male: Compared to the females of his species, Caesarion is more emotionally intelligent and less prone to random acts of violence, which isn't a high bar. Another feature of his species' sexual dimorphism is that he cannot use magic

    Hurvy
Hurvy was grown in the Engrove from a seed imported off-site by Blanca. To her surprise, he gained sapience and learned to speak. Blanca taught him how to read and do basic tasks and gave him an employee role. He doesn’t know or have much interest in finding out where he “came from”. He likes the Engrove just fine!

The Contestants

The competitors who are participating in the tournament for the End Bloom.
    Auriel

Growing up, Auriel always remained smaller and weaker than others of her kind and age, since she always remained sickly. But she lived to adulthood.

  • The Mourning After: Auriel was devastated to lose her partner Haldor, who she considered her one love and soulmate.
    Amber and Tim

A father-daughter team.

  • Dead Person Conversation: Amber can speaks with her deceased friend in her audition. This individual has not followed her to the Endgrove.
    Berry

She was taken in and raised by elves after losing her birth parents. She had a good childhood, but often felt useless because of her lack of magic. Because of these feelings, she often tries to go on dangerous quests in order to prove herself.

    Brunhilde Phin

Prior to her undeath, Brunhilde lived a normal life for a kobold, save for her facination with death and the great beyond. It was this curiosity that brought her to a necromancer which sweet-talked her into working for him to further his research, for a price.

  • Revenant Zombie: Brunhilde's current condition, which she is seeking to reverse.
    Buddy

Buddy’s origins are currently unclear. The first thing they can remember is waking up in a thick forest with all of their memories completely gone. After hours of stumbling about they have found their way to the Evergrove’s gate.

  • Death Amnesia: Buddy may be suffering from this.
  • Identity Amnesia: They hope participating in the tournament might help bring back some of their memories.
    Damon

Damon belongs to a tribe of deer who possess a significantly higher level of sentience than other wild deer.

  • Talking Animal: Damon has proven that he can communicate with all other sentient beings in the tournament.
    Fisher & Spealer

A father and son who come from an Ocean-covered world.

  • City on the Water: Structures in Fisher and Speakers' world are rarely on land.
  • Genius Loci: The Oceans of Fisher & Speakers' world seem to be controlled by an entity called "The Flood." This entity also appears to have a consciousness that has communicated with the father and son.
     Malus Rosaceae

Malu is a pinata who was once best friends with another named Alice. Following a terrible accident, Alice lost her life, causing Malu's exile into the merciless wilderness.

  • Sweet Tooth: Malu craves sweet things, from candy to fruit.
     Mary Corazon

An ambitious musician who was sent to the End Grove by their Deity.

  • Magic Music: Mary has the ability to quell the corruption through musical performance.
     Strike and Shroud

A pair of Gods who destroyed their previous world ravaged by war, and who want to resurrect Shroud's mysterious creator.

  • Opposites Attract: Shroud is a large and panicky sphinx-like creature with powers related to darkness while Strike is a diminutive goddess related to light who almost resembles a human. The two of them are in a relationship.
  • Old Shame: For Shroud at least, he greatly regrets destroying his old world and travels to the Grove to find a means to undo the damage.
  • Deity of Mortal Creation: Strike and Shroud used to be a pair of all powerful gods created by the civilization of their old world for the purposes of continuing a war that lasted for centuries. This ends up biting them in butt when Strike and Shroud turn on their creators.
