- Adaptation Relationship Overhaul: Here, she is siblings with Wysteria and Cherry Blossom, whereas she isn't related to anybody in the original G3 MLP source material.
- Character Development: Originally wasn't thrilled about rooming with Minty, but grows to like her a lot over time.
- Deadpan Snarker: Oh yes.
- Embarrassing Middle Name: A running gag on KT was people trying to guess Kimono's middle name, which we knew started with a "C" and nothing else. Minty's guesses included "Clover", "Canto", "Cherub", "Calliope", and "Chickpea". There was a contest held for viewers to guess her middle name, with the prize being a Kimono toy with a bunch of accessories. Her middle name was successfully guessed by viewer genkigrrl. It's "Chrysanthemum".
- Girls Love Chocolate: Considers it one of her favorite things.
- Grammar Nazi: Very particular about proper grammar, to the point that after she says her new year's resolution is to not correct people so much, and Minty says a Malaproper, Kimono gags and starts coughing in an attempt to not automatically correct her.
- The Last Straw: Kimono wasn't very happy dating Breezie, but stayed with him because he wasn't doing anything wrong. After he implies that he thinks Minty isn't very smart and refuses to back down, she finally breaks up with him.

- Proud to Be a Geek: Minty doesn't care what others think of her geekiness, and makes no attempt to hide it either.

Minty walks into the room in the middle of their conversation, and after Kimono leaves, asks what they were talking about. Brightly responds with "Lizards." Dava mentions in the description that she is also sarcasm-blind, and that the comic was based on her overhearing a conversation her husband was having with a customer about a natural disaster. When she asked what they were talking about, her husband had said "Lizards."
