Without his helm.

The titular knight of dinosaur, one of the best warriors in Enriru's underground army who bravely leads patrols along the city's coasts. He rescued Suneo from drowning while the latter is lost underground, and when Doraemon and gang tries searching for Suneo only to fall afoul of the Naga tribe, Banhou arrives again to save them before agreeing to escort the gang into Enriru to reunite with Suneo.

  • The Ace: The best of the knights and dinosaur riders in the army of raptor-men.
  • Attack Drone: In the anime, he uses Suneo's modified RC plane as a mechanized drone to attack targets such as the Naga tribespeople from afar.
  • Badass Bookworm: Besides being a capable warrior and knight, Banhou also holds an engineering degree and have quite a bit of knowledge in electronics, modifying Suneo's lost RC plane into a surveillance drone.
  • Badass Cape: As part of his attire as a raptor knight.
  • Big Damn Heroes: He made his introduction in the story saving Doraemon and gang after they were captured alive by the Naga tribe, and saves them again when they fell afoul of the Naga while trying to leave Enriru.
  • This Cannot Be!: His reaction near the end, when Doraemon reveals to him the truth about what made the dinosaurs extinct 65 million years ago, with him retorting that the God of Dinosaurs wouldn't be so cruel to make them extinct. But he eventually gives in to fate.
  • Cool Big Bro: His sister Roo certainly sees him as such. Being a high-ranking military commander and a loving elder brother at the same time does that to you.
  • Cool Helmet: His helmet which he rides in battle with. He removes said helmet when he's off-duty.
  • Good Is Not Soft: He may be a heroic knight and a well-respected leader in the army, but Banhou is certainly strict towards his subjects and doesn't take it kindly when Doraemon and gang tries to leave Enriru.
  • Humans Are Ugly: Downplayed, but when Doraemon and gang expresses shock at seeing Banhou without his helmet for the first time, apologizing that they aren't used to seeing raptor-men in the flesh, Banhou retorts with his opinion that he thinks humans are the unusual-looking ones.
  • Manly Tears: He visibly breaks down in tears (in both the manga and anime) when he finds out he's fighting for a lost cause, because it's NOT mammals who wiped out the dinosaurs, but a meteor.
  • Nice Guy: Despite being strict and firm, Banhou is really a softie at heart, treating Doraemon and gang as his guests and offering them to stay at his home until they can be sent back to the surface.
  • Odd Friendship: Eventually become close friends with Doraemon and the other characters, despite being a raptor-man knight that lives underground.
  • Knight in Shining Armor: A raptor-men variant, but he fits the trope.
  • Knightly Sword and Shield: His default weapon is his lance and shield.
  • Sibling Yin-Yang: Banhou is a knight, warrior, capable fighter and absolutely dangerous opponent on the battlefield, in contrast to his sweet, gentle sister Roo who is a nurse and caretaker.
  • Stab the Scorpion: When meeting Doraemon and gang for the first time after the gang are captured alive and bound by the Naga People, Banhou comes to their rescue, beats off their captors, and then draws his sword on the gang... to cut their bonds. Doraemon then realize Banhou isn't an enemy and with his hands freed, grabs a piece of Translation Jelly.

Roo

"I'll show you guys around, make yourselves at home."
Banhou's younger sister and a nurse for the Enriru raptor-men army. While her brother is on duty, she's asked to take care of Doraemon and the gang's needs, which she gladly obliged.
  • Miss Exposition: One of her major scenes is at the Enriru Museum of History, where she shows Doraemon, Nobita and the others the historical exhibits of Enriru and explains to them the backstory of the city, how they ended up underground millions of years ago and adapted to living beneath the earth, and plenty of exposition stuff.
  • Nice Girl: Like brother, like sister. She's friendly and affable to Doraemon and the surface folk and brings them on a tour across most of Enriru's landmarks.
  • Odd Friendship: Just like her brother, although Roo becomes accustomed to Doraemon and the surface folk faster and easier due to her easy, sweet and outgoing personality.
  • Sibling Yin-Yang: See above.

Banhou's Commander

"Perhaps they note  are the ones who wiped out the dinosaurs?"

The commanding officer of the raptor-men and Banhou's direct superior.

  • Flat Character: He really doesn't have much characteristics throughout the film, other than being a senior to Banhou in the army.
  • Know When to Fold 'Em: When the final battle is interrupted by a falling meteor, causing most of the raptor-men army to scatter and destroying Doraemon's impromptu fortress, Banhou thinks it's time to press on and attack. The commander on the other hand instead orders Banhou to withdraw, for the current condition of a massive weather storm coupled with an incoming tsunami is no time for them to fight.
  • Satellite Character: All his scenes are his conversations with Banhou.

The Raptor Men Pope

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/pope.PNG
"Prepare to execute operation Reclaim the Surface!"

The leading authority figure of Enriru and a well-respected community leader, but there's more to him than meets the eye..

  • Big Good: The raptor-men civilization views the Pope as this.
  • Hidden Villain: He turns out to be the mastermind behind the invasion on the surface world, though the "villain" part is subverted when he finds out the truth behind what caused the extinction of dinosaurs, at which point he resigns to fate and allows the falling meteorite to wipe out the dinosaurs' ancestors. Thankfully Doraemon found a way to get around the issue.
  • Well-Intentioned Extremist: He is willing to wage war on the ancestors of mammals by ordering the construction of a Time Machine, sending the raptor-men army to 65 million years ago to hunt mammals to extinction, because he genuinely care for his people and wants to reclaim the surface world for the dinosaur-men.
  • You Can't Fight Fate: When he learns that the ancestors of the dinosaur men were killed by a meteorite, and NOT by mammals like he originally assumed, he then willingly accepts his fate. But Doraemon gave him an alternative.
