The Council of Canines

    Pistachio Soup
Voiced by : Michael Dorn
Breed: Shar Pei
"Captain, I know you mean well, but you have to do well too."

The head of the Council overseeing the M-Bark.

  • Reasonable Authority Figure: He understands how much dogs like Garbage are eager enough for the mission. However, he often shows leniency before he resorts to out his foot down.

    Maple
Voiced by: Rena Strober
Breed: Shiba Inu
"The rules are there to make sure every dog has its day, as in literally survives for the day."

    Duchess
Voiced by: Rena Strober
Breed: St. Bernard
"Could these aliens possibly seek vengeance and attack the M-Bark? Because I'd like to see them try!"

  • Blood Knight: The most battle-ready of the council.
  • Reasonable Authority Figure: She is this in spades. Especially in the finale where, as she saw everything that went on between Garbage and Kira, she ops not to banish Garbage and has him demoted. She also shoots down all of Happy's claims that Garbage is planning mutiny and tells him that he needs to find absolute proof that he is doing so.
    Luna
Voiced by: Rena Strober
Breed:: Bedlington Terrier
    Happy
Voiced by: JP Karliak
Breed: Poodle
"Actually, I got some tips from the indigenous species and goody baskets, so I dunno, feels pretty successful to me."

Captain of the Pet Ship Venus.

  • Dog Stereotype: He's a poodle, and as such is very proud and egotistical.
  • Everyone Has Standards: He is shocked when Kira turns every dog on the M-Bark into regular dogs.
  • Jerkass: While correct that Garbage is not the most competent captain, he acts pretty cruel towards him and is determined to get him banished. He even tries to sabotage Loaf's station in order to find evidence. He even tries to turn Kira back into a regular dog (which was the backup plan) after Garbage successfully talks her down (and is the only member of the council to vote against the proposal to send her back to Earth with all the messages for their humans).
  • Took a Level in Kindness: After Garbage and the rest of the Pluto crew rescue him (and the make up for their past together), he starts to gain more respect for him (if still sometimes acting like The Rival). He is even shocked when Garbage doesn't have a irresponsible plan to deal with the Shrubdubs.
  • Moral Myopia: He claims to be "one of the good guys", in spite of his petty hatred of Garbage (and vindictive attempt to turn Kira into a regular dog after she stands down).
  • Personal Hate Before Common Goals: He does not allow Garbage to help him fix the ship the two were on when they crashed landed due to him still hating Garbage.
  • Smug Snake: He is more successful on missions AND is a member of the council which he is very smug about.
  • Teeth-Clenched Teamwork: He and Garbage don't get along, but they reluctantly work together in order to get back onto the M-Bark to stop Kira.
  • Ungrateful Bastard: Even though he was spared being turned into a regular dog by Garbage(who has had a fantasy about him becoming one), he is still hostile against him.
  • We Used to Be Friends: To the shock of the others, he and Garbage used to be friends, but due to circumstances, they fell apart.

Other Crew Members

    Atlas
Voiced by: Wil Wheaton
Breed: Boston Terrier

Med/Tech Officer of the Venus.

  • Everyone Has Standards:
    • He likes rubbing in Chonies's constant losses to his face. When Kira attempts mutiny and Happy and Garbage go missing, however, he calls a truce and suggests an alliance with Chonies to rescue their captains.
    • He also notably does not resort to foul play or sabotage Chonies's mech.
  • Stealing the Credit: During their crews' brief alliance, he's quick to take the credit for Chonies' idea to repair the ship.
    Penelope
Voiced by: Deedee Magno-Hall
Breed: Tibetan Spaniel
"Strategy. Insight. Focus."

A former show dog who now acts as a trainer on the M-Bark.

  • The Dreaded: Everyone on the M-Bark is scared of her because she determines if they are sent for obedience training. She's actually a Nice Girl, and will pass you if you show that you've figured out how to apply skills to a practical situation.
  • Former Child Star: She used to be a show dog, and has learned to apply those skills to leadership.
  • Nice Girl: She's pretty nice to the dogs that she has to train if Brutally Honest about the weight of being a captain. While she is hard on Garbage, she puts him through 34 different scenarios to test his leadership skills, and only fails him when he keeps refusing the understand the point of her exercises.
  • Serious Business: Dog shows. Justified in that she is a former show dog.
    Jerry
Voiced by: John DiMaggio
Breed: Chow Chow

A guard dog on the M-Bark.

  • Brought Down to Normal: He is the first victim of Kira's device that reverts dogs back to their original states. During Season 2, it was revealed that he didn't want to return to anthropomorphism again.
  • Took a Level in Kindness: After being turned into a regular dog, he becomes way nicer, and even remains loyal to Garbage when they (and Happy) are stranded. Considering that despite being a regular dog, but retaining his intelligence, that says things.
    Barclay
Voiced by: JP Karliak
Breed: Unknown

Runs a tea shop on the M-Bark. After Garbage was demoted, he worked in Barclay's shop.

  • Agent Peacock: Despite his mildly effeminate nature, it turns out he's pretty buff, and quite willingly joins the fray when the Shrubdubs attack the M-Bark.
  • Brits Love Tea: Has a British accent and takes tea very seriously.
  • Serious Business: His tea must be brewed according to his exact instructions, which makes sense since some of his alien tea leaves can turn the leaves into mind-controlling parasites if brewed incorrectly
