But that just covers up that he is the most pragmatic amoral Naruto. This is best shown with the way [[spoiler:he killed N.]] He was downright cold and somewhat terrifying, and it was one of the saddest moments of the story. This troper didn't find him funny for a while. Chibaku gets dangerous again later when he pulls a ShutUpHannibal on [[spoiler:Alpha.]]

* {{Revenge}}: What motivates him to kill [[spoiler:Yagura and Hanzo]], and what he wants on Tsukiyomi for the suffering he caused him. In general, Kazama is much more vindictive than his canon self, and he views revenge as something positive, rather than negative. [[spoiler:That goes out the window after he destroys most of his Konoha.]]

* BadassInCharge: Of the Arashi Clan [[spoiler:then of Amekagure.]]

* BadassInCharge: Kazama has promoted her to being TheLeader of the Arashi clan after the Shinigami incident, deeming himself unfit to lead.

* TheChick: While not the only female in the group, she is this by default of trying to be the heart and encourages friendship in it's entirety.

* TheChick: Tries to be one, but doesn't work so well in the cynic multiverse she lives in.

* TheChick: Despite being one of the most powerful characters in the story.

* HeroesPreferSwords: His WeaponOfChoice is Samehada, which he obtained [[spoiler:in the Wave-verse, after Kisame entrusted her to him.]]

* PoisonousFriend: To Kazama, although he later regretted how badly it ruined Kazama.

* GoodPeopleHaveGoodSex: [[spoiler:Izanami must be very skilled for Kazama to be able to enjoy his first time as much as he did.]]

* FailureHero: Kazama sees himself as one. This has been taken UpToEleven after [[spoiler:Yahiko's death -- [[EnemyMine he's so desperate to succeed that he teams up with Tsukuyomi]].]]

* SpaceMaster: His ability to jump across the multiverse that drives the entire plot -- that he also really isn't good at using. [[spoiler:By the final phase of the final arc he gains Ame-no-Minaka-nushi: the Stolen Divinity cranking his SpaceMaster powers UpToEleven giving him control over the VoidBetweenWorlds and space itself.]]

* WaveMotionGun: Her Bijuudama, then it's taken UpToEleven with an upgraded version called [[PlasmaCannon Plasma Breath]].

* WalkingSpoiler: The fact that an Indra never reincarnated into either Sasuke or Madara from his world is shocking; the fact that Mikoto is his reincarnation instead cranks it UpToEleven.

* CompositeCharacter: Kazama has traits of all of his canonical {{Evil Counterpart}}s. Like Gaara his childhood has seriously screwed him up. He is obsessed with {{Revenge}} like Sasuke. Like Kabuto [[spoiler:he is the BastardUnderstudy to the BigBad and has a VillainousFriendship with him]]. He is a ControlFreak like Danzo. He is a DarkMessiah like Pain and has a minor god-complex. And is a DarthVaderClone like Tobi is.

* DarthVaderClone: [[spoiler:Kazama became one as he became the Amekage. To review: He has a troubled childhood coupled with him failing to protect his loved ones, he made a deal with the BigBad for power in order to protect his loved ones, became said BigBad's BastardUnderstudy, then underwent a HazyFeelTurn turning him into a AntiHero-FallenHero hybrid, he forcefully took over a country, then he becomes a WellIntentionedExtremist in order to bring order to Amekagure, he begins to make deals with TheDarkSide for more power, then he begins to wear TinTyrant armor with a scary CoolHelmet that [[EvilSoundsDeep makes his voice sound deep]]. Now all he needs to do is get horribly scarred, [[ItMakesSenseInContext marry Izanami, and tell Itachi that he's his step-father]] and the circle shall be complete.]]

** Tobi is a DarthVaderClone, can you guess what Kazama is?

* DarthVaderClone: Kagaseo seems to like this trope as much as Kishimoto! WordOfGod even admits the Dark Wolf was partially based on Darth Vader.

* YouGottaHaveBlueHair: Well when you live in a anime world and your hair is blue...

* BaldOfAwesome: As of the "Reunion arc" -- he's [[spoiler:trained at a monastery and shaved his head.]]

* CompositeCharacter: WordOfGod describes the Dark Wolf as the unholy fusion of [[Franchise/MassEffect Saren]], [[VideoGame/DragonAgeII Meredith]], and [[StarWars Darth Vader]]. It shows during the Third Raikage fight.

* FamilyOfChoice: [[LossOfIdentity Izanami]], [[TheSpock Sasori]], [[AntiHero Kazama]], [[GuileHero Chibaku]], [[SadClown Karasu]], and the [[TokenEvilTeammate Dark Wolf]] have no real remaining bonds to their biological family, and see the Arashi as their family.

* NotSoDifferent:
** Although Kazama will never admit it he takes a lot after his father, Minato instead of his mother, Kushina (Though he hates both of them equally).
** Kazama's constant strings of bad luck also has some rather scary similarity's to Pain's.

* NotSoDifferent: Despite originally hating him, Yugito is rather similar to Kakashi. They are both professional and experianced Shinobi, both are loyal to the people they proclaim their lord, both firmly believe in following the PillarsOfMoralCharacter, and they both have very strong morals and ideals that they refuse to compromise no matter what.

* PillarsOfMoralCharacter: Yugito shows ''On'' or "Reprocity" because she will always fulfill her debts honorably, ''Giri'' or "Duty", shown in the Kumo arc when she betrays her village to save it from itself, and her joining the Arashi clan even though she didn't want to join, ''Ninjo'' or "Compassion" when she sympathizes with the Arashi clan because it was the right thing to do, and finally ''Gimu'' or "Piety" [[spoiler:After Kakashi dies saving her life she swears to honor his last wish to protect the Arashi clan in his place because it was both the right thing to do and because Yugito felt that she will never be able to repay her debt.]] They're really NotSoDifferent, aren't they?

* TheNecromancer: Learned Edo Tensei in an attempt to bring Kazama back to life after he thought he died. But after he used it (He used an AssholeVictim as a sacrifice) became disgusted with himself and swore to never use it again.

* AGodIAmNot: [[spoiler:He turned down a chance to become a capital 'G' God offered by [[GodOfEvil Amatsu-Mikaboshi]] by hijacking the Shinigami's power and offered the ability to remake reality in his image. Kazama rejected the offer because he would become a pawn.
