* InexplicablyAwesome: ''LightNovel/{{Durarara}}'' is a mostly-realistic series outside of its supernatural elements. Shizuo and his SuperStrength are not among those supernatural elements. The causes of Shizuo's strength clearly would ''not'' work for the human body, and yet he explicitly ''is'' purely human, and he's stronger than any of the supernatural creatures.

* GagBoobs: There's a running gag of various characters referring to and identifying Anri primarily by the size of her breasts.

* IJustWantToBeSpecial: He greatly prefers the extraordinary and could care less about most of humanity. Being with Celty surely makes his life more supernatural.

* LoveYouAndEverybody: Although it once loved individual human beings, after many centuries of this it soon began harboring an obsessive love for humanity as a whole. The one exception to its all-encompassing love is Izaya though, who is the first human that has ever repulsed Saika. Non-humans also don't count.

* DarkIsNotEvil: In Celtic mythology, Dullahans act as {{Psychopomp}}s who douse anyone who gets in their way with blood, marking them as the next one to be yanked to the afterlife by that particular Dullahan. Here, we've got one going around saving kidnapping victims.

* FamousNamedForeigner: Shares a last name with Icelandic poet and politician Creator/SnorriSturluson. A Celtic faerie running around with an Icelandic last name might seem weird [[FridgeBrilliance until you consider Izaya's hypothesis]] that [[spoiler:Dullahans have a connection with the Nordic Valkyries]]. This leads to more questions, as [[spoiler:Sturluson means [[WasOnceAMan "Son of Sturla".]] Assuming she was born in Iceland during those times, and that she was female, her last name would be Sturludóttir ("Daughter of Sturla").]]

* TheFairFolk: We've got a Dullahan.

* CrossPlayer: Celty prefers to keep her gender ambiguous on the internet. However, [[BadLiar she's not terribly good at it]], and both Kanra and Tanaka Taro caught on long ago (which Celty discovers, to her distress, [[InnocentCohabitation when they both react rather strongly to a comment that she has a male roommate).]]

* InnocentCohabitation: With Shinra. At first.

* HornyScientist: And, unlike most examples, Celty has to [[InnocentCohabitation live with him]]. At least he's pretty.

* OnlySaneWoman: Yes, the only ''normal'' person in the major recurring cast is the amnesiac headless psychopomp. Let that sink in for a second. ''The DarkIsNotEvil mythological HumanoidAbomination'' is the sanest, most moral and most ''human'' member of the cast.

* SignificantGreenEyedRedhead: This is basically what her head looks like.
* SilentSnarker: Generally snarky, especially when dealing with Shinra.

* MeaningfulName: Her name sounds very similar to [[https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Selkie Selkie]], a mythological Scottish creature that was a seal in water but shed their skin to become a human on land. Legends about Selkies tend to involve someone trapping them in a relationship by hiding their skin, with the Selkie leaving as soon as they find it again. [[SarcasmMode Why does that sound familiar?]]
* MonsterRoommate: To Shinra.

* NiceGirl: Absolutely. Celty is very kind, friendly and helpful, and definitely heroic.
* OfficialCouple: With Shinra.

* DoggedNiceGuy: Twenty years, he's been trying to get with Celty. ''Twenty years''.

* LoveMakesYouEvil: Has explicitly stated that there is absolutely no line he wouldn't be willing to cross for Celty's sake.
