  • Just Here for Godzilla:
    • Some are drawn to the movie due to the presence of some of the more popular characters. Others like the inclusion and exposure of more recent characters instead of the usual A-listers.
    • Alternatively, many Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. fans will most likely be dropping in for the first time Chloe Bennet gets to play Quake outside of her own show. (And May as a Kree villainess!)
    • Spider-Gwen, or 'Ghost Spider' as she's called here, has also drawn quite a lot of positive attention due to her popularity.
  • Older Than They Think: Gwen being in a band is often thought as just a way to have her sing since she's voiced by Dove Cameron. However, she has been in a band in the comics, even if not that long. On top of that, she's playing the drums, not singing.
  • Rescued from the Scrappy Heap: The movie turned many detractors into fans of the otherwise controversial America Chavez. In the comics, America was a rather polarizing hero with many feeling that she was an insufferable, self-righteous Soapbox Sadie. In Secret Warriors, while still stubborn and impulsive, America's Smug Super aspects have been significantly toned down and she takes on the role of a Cool Big Sis. It helps that her characterization ignores her ... polarizing solo in favor of the more popular portrayals used in Young Avengers and Ultimates.
  • Tainted by the Preview:
    • Some felt the released character models were too bland. The trailer revealed that they are actually more colorful than said models made them look and seeing the shorts in action have won people over.
  • Win Back the Crowd: The shorts were praised for their animation and strong storytelling, which has led to people being more optimistic about the film.
