Most of us LOVE villains! But we're here to talk about who are your 5 favorite animated villains. They can be in order if you want. Yay!

You're really limiting me here with just animated, but regardless:

5: Tom (Eddsworld, more specifically Zanta Claus III)
4: The Joker (Batman: The Animated Series)
3: Dr. Bob (Klay World)
2: The Colossal Titan (Attack on Titan)
1: The Galactic Federation (Rick and Morty)

I'm sure I'm showing my age with a few of these selections.

  1. The Joker (Batman: The Animated Series)
  2. Marvin the Martian (Warner Bros. Loony Toons)
  3. Ming the Merciless (Filmation's The New Adventures of Flash Gordon)
  4. Leader Desslok (Star Blazers)
  5. The Legion of Doom (Super Friends)

Then again, some of my favorite cartoon shows didn't really have an overall villain, and just dealt with the antagonist of the week, if there even was an actual antagonist.

Hmm. Most of the ones I could list would be Disney, and I had a severe falling out with my past self over those years ago.

Oh hell, lemme see.

  • 5 Cruella De Ville (101 Dalmatians)

  • 4 Evil Queen (Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs)

  • 3 Ursula (The Little Mermaid)

  • 2 Maleficent (Sleeping Beauty)

  • 1 Shima Tetsuo (Akira)

Yeah. I just figured out why I fell out with myself over liking Disney movies. Most of those were women. There's damned few classic MALE villains that I can remember. Almost no-one to serve as a positive role model for a young man. [lol]

For me, my personal favorites would probably be

(In no particular order.)

Honorable Mentions: The Other Mother, (Coraline) David Xanatos, (Gargoyles) King Bradley, (Fullmetal Alchemist) Zaheer, (The Legend of Korra) Lex Luthor, (mostly due to this scene) Phaeton, (Exo Squad) The Joker and Two Face, (Batman: The Animated Series) and probably a few more that I could throw in there.

When it comes to anime, my top 5 favorite animated villains are:

5:Vicious

4:Toguro and Sakyo, and yes that is a tie since I like them both and they're the villains of the same story arc.

3: Kyueby from Puella Magi Madoka Magica.

2: Both Griffith and Zodd from Berserk

1:Frieza, without a shred of doubt. He's my favorite DBZ villain out of them all

When it comes to western animation, my top 5 would be:

5: Lawrence Limburger. The guy's just plain hilarious and is one of my favorite Deadpan Snarker type of villains.

4: The Transformers Prime version of Soundwave

3: The DCAU versions of Lex Luthor and The Joker

2: The DCAU version of Darkseid.

1: Megatron and Tarantulas. Not only are they really great and very smart villains, but Megatron is hilarious at times and it's fun to watch them oppose each other in a big Gambit Pile Up.

I'll admit, I don't really watch cartoons, and the few that I do (like The Simpsons and Homestar Runner) don't really have villains, so I've only got animated films to go on. That being said...

  1. Syndrome.
  2. Assistant Mayor Dawn Bellwether.
  3. Feathers McGraw.
  4. The Prospector. (Laugh all you like, that little bastard legitimately scared me when I was a kid.)
  5. A tie between Mrs. Tweedy and Shere Khan (the 2016 version).

[up] Ooh, Feathers! That penguin was such a great Magnificent Bastard! I've gotta remember to get an avatar of him.

Now, for my list... in no particular order...

1. Many villains from Courage the Cowardly Dog, but Katz, Fusilli, and Dr. Gerbil really stand out to me.

2. Turbo

3. Shere Khan (I haven't seen the 2016 remake yet.)

4. Dave the octopus

5. Tie between Jack o' Lantern and the Brain-Eating Meteor

I would say...

  • Zaheer (The Legend of Korra) as a proxy for the excellent Red Lotus who gave the best story arc of the series by a fair margin. Azula and Amon were contenders from the same universe.
  • Nox (Wakfu). The guy is Cerebus Syndrome made flesh (or clock) in an otherwise really goofy show. Amazing antagonist.
  • Wrath (Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood). Could have been Envy for different reasons, but of the two, Wrath does not get killed after a completely one-sided battle.
  • Gauron (Full Metal Panic!). What an entertaining nutjob.
  • Shego (Kim Possible). Drakken deserves a mention for their interactions.
