This thread is for general discussion of page quotes, whether to change, move or remove them.
Unused quotes should be put on a Quotes Wiki page (just replace the namespace in the URL of the wiki page you are making a quotes page for with Quotes/) or, if they don't have an article, on Quotes Looking for an Article.
Image captions are discussed elsewhere and have their own thread in the Image Pickin' forum.

4723: Both quotes are fine, though I lean slightly towards the first one.
4724: Apparently Tragic Monster is about a major character being forcibly transformed into a monster, and the drama/tragedy that ensues in having to destroy them. That quote might be a better fit for something like Monster Sob Story.

Cathartic Exhalation has (part of) the same quote as And Mission Control Rejoiced.
I imagine it'll be easier to find a new quote for the former, since it's less narrow. But I don't have a replacement for either off hand.
Trouble Cube continues to be a general-purpose forum for those who desire such a thing. The quote on Little People is so nonindicative that the trope description actually calls attention to the fact. It's downright confusing, particularly as the trope name is nonindicative itself (it should probably be renamed, to be honest, but changing the quote is a decent first step).
EDIT: And, on a second look, there are bad examples as well. Of course there are.

The page quote on More Criminals Than Targets seems to be misleading about what the trope is about. I'd say pull.

^^ Yeah, the trope is not about discriminating little people. Pull.
The quote for Conspiracy Placement is the doofenshmirtz jingle. doesnt really seem to have anything to do with the trope to me, can i remove it?
I actually can kinda see how it fits - company run by an evil genius (assuming Doofenshmirtz even had employees; I sure don't remember any, and I don't count Norm, given he's a robot who was built, not a hiree) wearing the whole "evil" thing on its sleeve with public-facing logos and catchy jingles. Maybe a bit weak on the "conspiracy" bit.
I dunno if "plainly advertising your evilness to the rest of the tri-state area, which nobody thinks twice about" is another trope or not though.
Moon◊The current page quote for Treachery Is a Special Kind of Evil is this:
I find it a bit mediocre. It doesn't really emphasize the "special kind of evil" part because it fails to mention whether keelhauling was a punishment reserved for traitors (and, for that matter, whether there existed worse punishments for other criminals). I have found two potential replacements:
It sums up the trope pretty well. Quite a few quote websites attribute it to Aeschylus, but I can't find any evidence that he actually said it.
This one does a good job at telling us that Codreanu believes traitors are particularly vile. On the other hand... he was a fascist who wanted Romania to be allied with Nazi Germany politically and militarily. Would using it as a page quote reflect badly on TV Tropes?
On the one hand, quoting a fascist on a "special kind of evil" trope has a certain Even Fascists Have Standards vibe to it. On the other hand, all that stuff you already said.
Trouble Cube continues to be a general-purpose forum for those who desire such a thing.Since Treachery Is a Special Kind of Evil is not NRLEP, I think the Corneliu quote is fine. Plus, the "with us or against us" mentality is a salient trait of fascism, so hating "traitors" so vehemently seems part and parcel of a fascist's worldview.
Look at all that shiny stuff ain't they prettyThe Crocodile God is a work page with three(!) page quotes:
I think the third one should stay, since the first one is pretty vague and the second one is an X Meets Y elevator pitch.
Seconding using the last of the three.
she/her | TRS needs your help! | Contributor of Trope ReportThe current quote on Disapproving Look is a bit vague. It mentions "a face that express your thoughts" without any more context, which is not very illustrative.
I found a video with a reaction to said Disapproving Look which may fit much better:
"Come on, seriously, it was a joke!
Okay, seriously, the stare's starting to creep me out. Stop it.
Uuuhh, it's like a desperate disappointment made manifest in one toy canine.
WHY AREN'T YOU BLINKING?! STOP LOOKING AT ME LIKE THAT!"

Ching Chong has three quotations and I think the quotes have more words than the description. I think the third quote is the most clear and accurate. First is too short to be comprehensible, and the second is saying something about people having tails (?).
Look at all that shiny stuff ain't they prettyYeah, axe the first two.
she/her | TRS needs your help! | Contributor of Trope ReportWill do. Also, I didn't notice it before, but those quotes the second two quotes were simultaneously added by Kaiju Director OO 7 who has a strange editing pattern (edit history). I'm a bit too tired at the moment to go in-depth but it's either a case of a problem or someone who just needs to use the preview button.
(I'm kind of surprised the first quote stayed on the page for so long.)

Look at all that shiny stuff ain't they prettyDocumentary of Lies and Based on a Great Big Lie have essentially the same quote. I kind of think it works better for Based on a Great Big Lie, but I'm not sure if it works for either, honestly.
Look at all that shiny stuff ain't they prettyUnfamiliar Ceiling and Waking Up Elsewhere have the same quote from The Lord of the Rings. Not sure which it would be better to pull from.
I say keep it on Unfamiliar Ceiling, and replace Waking Up Elsewhere's with one of the quotes from the quotes page. Personally, I think the Thumbelina one there works the best.

In a similar vein, Schizophrenic Difficulty and Zero-Effort Boss both borrow the same quote from Zero Punctuation.
"Come on! Let's get this show on the road."Richard Brautigan has two quotes.
she/her | TRS needs your help! | Contributor of Trope ReportHello. I want to know if this quote from Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 can apply to Doomed by Canon.
- Supreme Kai of Time:' You must be tired, coming all the way out here, to the edge of the universe. But it doesn't matter how hard you struggle. The fact you dissapear is a part of history.''
(Context: In the game, we go to different points in time of the Dragon Ball story, and none of the villains are ever aware we are the time patrol. Zamasu, however, was aware of our presence and went to the Time Nest, but couldn't do anything because "his defeat is part of history", as he was destroyed by the Omni-King a few minutes later.)
To win, you need to adapt, and to adapt, you need to be able to laugh away all the restraints. Everything holding you back. The quote on Right Place, Right Time, Wrong Reason is exactly what you think it is (assuming you happen to be a fan of The Order of the Stick), but is that really an illustrative quote, or is it just something that says the trope name?
Trouble Cube continues to be a general-purpose forum for those who desire such a thing.Nope. V is part of the Order of the Stick, who are collectively the good guys. V's a snob, but makes the deal mentioned because a thoroughly cheesed off Dragon is mad at V for their part in her son's death and is out for revenge.
It's not the trope.
(V's arguably not in their right mind at the time as well.)
Coming back to where you started is not the same as never leaving. -Terry Pratchett
Crown Description:
What should be the page quote for Monster.Fan Works?
The current quote works fine. The trope concerns a person who considers themselves to be a god, and the suggested change is speculative on the part of the character saying it.
