The Reincarnation thing seems to be in debate; Wind Waker Link is said not to be a reincarnation, Twilight Princess Link meets the ghost of Ocarina Of Time Link, and while Skyward Sword Zelda is the human reincarnation of Hylia(and I personally think it makes sense for her to reincarnate) it's not clear whether her descendants are reincarnations.

You're point still stands however.

Blanka beating Pikachu was fucking hysterical. That made the fight worth it to me, even if I did technically "lose" betting-wise.

Still, kinda interesting how they actually based Pikachu entirely off his anime appearance, rather than figuring a composite out. I can already tell that had there been some basis from Super Smash Bros Pikachu's lack of a trainer to guide him would have had no impact due to the Smash version being basically independent.

Also, minor nitpick, but Pikachu refusing to evolve being a weakness (or at least something joked about)? If anything, I'd call it proof of just how Bad Ass Pikachu is. Little guy doesn't need to evolve to wreck your shit.

Next battle is the famous Superman vs. Goku, eh? Not gonna lie, I personally think this is one of those fights that just can't be determined by any kind of math or analysis. Battles like this can go either way, and in some crossover fanfiction this would ultimately be something that would be determined based on what suits the plot. I legitimately can't take any side, but I'll definitely be pumped.

[up] Pikachu may not need to evolve, but if he did... the only reason Lt. Surge's Raichu was weaker than Ash's Pikachu was because it was a Mighty Glacier - all attack and no speed - due to him evolving it right away. The power boost Ash's Pikachu would get if he evolved would elevate him from a Fragile Speedster Glass Cannon to a Lightning Bruiser, and the outcome of the fight against Blanka would've probably gone on a lot longer, if not ended differently.

[up]x4: That was because Rainbow Dash and Starscream were most famous in the incarnations that were represented. Spyro... is a different story. And all three versions of Spyro do have similar powers. It's just that they're applied differently in each universe.

Also, he doesn't really have any iconic powerups in the original trilogy, except maybe Superflame, Supercharge, and Superfly. And Classic Spyro did gain permanent ice breath (along with other types of breath) in more than a few games.

[up] Merging them still won't work because, as I said, they are completely different characters living in Alternate Universes. The only permanent ice breath I remember Classic Spyro getting was a gift from Zoe the fairy in one of the ice worlds... but then again I've only played the original trilogy and the Legend trilogy. I'd have to agree with you about the power-ups, though. ... and none of this changes my opinion that Skylanders Spyro would be the best pick as an opponent for Charizard.

[up]Classic Spyro also got permanent ice breath in Season of Flame (the second Game Boy Advance game), Enter the Dragonfly, and A Hero's Tail, along with the other kinds of breath I mentioned earlier.

And I'm not sure about Skylander!Spyro being the best bet against Charizard. Though it's noted that he can use any of the Skylanders elements, he's only been shown using fire. We don't know how much skill he has with using the other elements.

There are three things I've always thought would swing the upcoming fight between Superman and Goku in Goku's favor: Super Saiyan, Super Saiyan 2, and Super Saiyan 3 (4 if they're going to include GT in the fight analysis).

Aside from that, Goku has no discernible weaknesses except for not being able to breathe in space. Superman, on the other hand, has weaknesses to Kryptonite and magic and is weakened in the presence of a red sun.

However, Goku won't know about Kryptonite, Chi may not be seen as Magic in this fight(they do seem to be different things in DBZ), and he...

actually, he could use instant transmission to take supes to a Red Sun planet.

This one is hard to judge. They must have been crunching the numbers for years to even come close to figuring out who might win.

Especially on supeman's end. His power levels vary quite often.

Come to think of it, I don't think DC even has an equivalent to ki. Marvel at least has martial artists like Iron Fist gain access to that kind of energy. Meanwhile, every martial artist from DC I know falls squarely into Charles Atlas Superpower.

That being said, there's enough examples from both comics and manga/anime that show magic and ki as separate entities that I think Superman can get away with not being completely wrecked by a Kamehameha.

I have to wonder, if Goku has the time to gather for the Spirit Bomb, would it hurt Superman? Yeah, he generally comes off as a bit of a boy scout, but he has shown he has a bit of a dark side.

[up] He once daydreamed about Curb Stomping Mogol so hard it caused an Earth-Shattering Kaboom, but that was just a daydream. That said, the evil versions of Superman, like Superboy-Prime, were among the most powerful villains in the DCU.

[up][up][up][up][up] The reason I recommended Skylanders Spyro is because Legendary Spyro has too much of a type advantage and Classic Spyro has too little defence - to put it in Pokemon terms. Going purely by the game, while he has the potential to use other elements the only ones he does use on a regular basis and with any proficiency are Fire and Darkness.

Then there's Supermans other versions, like Pre-Crisis/ Silver Age superman, Superman Prime 1 million and his Kingdom Come Counterpart for feats.

DBZ does make a passing note that ki and magic are two separate things.

It's gonna be interesting to see if they include GT in this. It's technically not canon, but only big time fans care about the difference. Then again they didn't include GT when they used Vegeta...

[up]Technically, they did. They just made a note that since Vegeta couldn't reach Super Saiyan 4 on his own, he wouldn't be able to do so in the fight against Shadow.

Ah, I remember. Well Goku had some assistance achieving it the first time around, but afterwords could access it just fine. Taking that and their footnote on Vegeta into account it's likely they'll use SS 4.

One thing to consider is if Goku loses his cool and devolves into Beam Spam, he could wear himself out over time and Supes going to town on him once the Golden Super Mode wears off, since there is probably a rock out there smarter than Goku.

Does charging as a free action come into play, since Supes doesn't need to wait to use his more powerful move set...

In regards to Spyro, I was more into Crash Bandicoot, and apparently, he was a wimp...

[up] Both Classic Spyro and Classic Crash are One Hit Point Wonders without Sparx and Aku Aku - and according to Death Battle rules no outside help is allowed, meaning they would be SOL against a strong opponent. This makes them decidedly poor choices... unless paired with each other. I have no idea about the revamped Crash, though (I stopped after Crash Bash, but just thinking about it reminds me of how fun it was to get game overs) and as I've said Spyro's second incarnation is too powerful for Crash to handle.

I think that the whole "can't take a hit without an item" part is a game mechanic that would be completely ignored in a Death Battle. After all, if they didn't ignore this property, then Mario Vs. Sonic would have been a very short fight.

Maybe have Spyro fight Klonoa? It would probably be his Klonoa Heroes incarnation, as that's the only one with any real combat capabilities.

Here's a look at his weapons from the game.

It should be relatively obvious what all of them do, though the one weapon that looks like it generates a force field can be somewhat misleading. It looks like it may be capable of blocking attacks, but it's used purely as a weapon.

This video shows a couple of the weapons, as well as one of his special attacks, the Thunder Hurricane. He has another called Tornado Attack, which has him summon several tornadoes that deal damage to enemies in the immediate vicinity.

Most of Crash's power creep over the past couple games have been situational, the most permanent additions being a Fruit Cannon in Warped(?) and an aptitude towards piloting vehicles from a jetski to a jetpack. He does has plenty of old standbys though, including insane speed, strength, flexibility, vigor and stamina, and tactics that include his trademark Tornado Spin, jumps of the rocket, spin and double variety, body slams and slides, and combinations of the above. He's also resistant to Mind Control and forced moral corruption, if those are to be accounted for during a Death Battle.

Against a full blown elemental though might be a bit much.

Legend!Spyro would probably work best against Klonoa.

Then again, we do have another relatively forgotten humanoid animal who was once console-exclusive: Sparkster.

[up][up] Crash is resistant to mind control because, well... he's an Idiot Hero to put it mildly. And yes, the Wumpa Fruit bazooka was added in Warped. Klonoa vs. Crash would probably be a fairer fight than Spyro vs. Crash, IMO.

Here's some specs for Asura if he's ever in Death Battle. There are unmarked spoilers for his game ahead, here, though:

  • Name: Asura
  • Age: Unknown, looks to be around 28: (Has lived for MUCH longer)
  • Race: Demi-God

  • Asura is a Demi-God, a race of beings from Asura's Wrath that is the result of Genetically altered super humans that existed millions of years before the plot of his game began. Despite his rage, it is a righteous fury, and unlike his other angry contemporary, Kratos he has a pure heart full of compassion for innocent people and rage at those that harm them.

  • Powers and Abilities: Alongside the usual powers for a Flying Brick (Super-Strength, Super-Speed, Flight, And Incredible endurance and Durability) Asura has the ability to channel his anger to allow his strength to grow to potentially limitless, not unlike The Incredible Hulk. He also has many different forms, all of which (With the exception of his last form on here) has a red wrathful Battle Aura, of which can be fire in Pure Energy shaped like his fists:

    • His base form is obviously his form that is the weakest, though strong nonetheless. This form is different from his later forms in that the gold metal present on all the Guardian General (The strongest of all the combat ready Demi-Gods) is only present on hist fists in the shape of golden gauntlets.
    • Vajra Form: This is near identical to his base form, with the exception of an increased level of power (Able to fight in the vaccum of space, although all Demi Gods can breath in it with ease) and that the gold on his hands now covers his entire arms. This is his most commonly seen form ans id often mistaken for his Normal form. It allows him to take care of any of the gohma hordes with ridiculous ease, including massive several hundred Kilometer Sized Gohma and Battle ships with his bare hands
    • Six Armed Vajra form: Annother one of his forms, adding four extra arms to make six arms. This form allows Asura to take on Planet sized entities, along with added firepower to his moves.
    • Berserker Form, a form of which when Asura's Rage is at it's ultimate peak, turning Asura into a monster of pure unbrindled fury. His skin is now charred black with a yeloow/Orangish Aura, with four Giantic Arms made out of pure Mantra, and able to hold a Beam-O-War with The Brahmastra, a gigantic Hindu Mythological version of Star Wars's Death Star, and weaken it substantially.
    • Wrath Form, the exact same as the above form, but without the mantra arms. It also is much faster without them, while still only slightly less powerful, but this is is most useless form on the whole, as his bdoy starts deteriorating due to the sheer volume of anger he has.
    • Mantra Form, The strongest Form Asura can take in the game before one of the problems with his powers is fixed. This form takes the raw power of his previous forms combined and concentrates them into a more prescise and controlled form. It's the result of help from his Daughter's power to amplify Mantra naturally, and it starts with Asura sprouting 1000 arms before fusing into two huge arms that have rocket boosters on the back of the arms for extra punching power and speed, and unless angered to a much greater level, he is less likely to turn into Berserker Or Wrath Asura.
    • Karma Fortress Mantra Reactor Asura: This is a form Asura gains when Yasha implants the Mantra Rector of the Karma Fortress into Asura, allowing Asura to focus his powers to limitless extants and increases his natural fighting power to far higher levels then ever before. He no longer has to worry about destroying his own body due to his wrath thanks to the implant, as well as Making Berserker and Wrath Asura unable to exist. His aura now can turn into the eight different colors of Mantra shown in the game. Which allows Asura to turn into....
    • Asura The Destructor: THE strongest form Asura has in his disposal post Mantra Reactor Implant. This form allows him to literally fight on the level of a True God, and is stronger then all his previous forms combined. This form also grows to bigger then earth, to the point where the earth itself could fit in the center of the smallest ring on his halo with ease. This form allows for incredibly fast space flight, able to literally fly by entire solar and star systems within mere seconds, and able to destroy entire barrages of planets and planet sized projectiles as well as small stars with a single barrage of energy blasts, and enough strength to punch through a planet many thousands of times bigger then himself, and punch through the other side and shattering it with ease. He also destroyed a red giant being thrown at him and can dodge and tank a laser blast big enough to destroy anything that gets caught in its path with relative ease. He can also used a human sized version of this form as well, but it's still just as strong as the giant form. (Note: The power of his wrath can make any of these forms stronger then they usually are due to it being in his power set, meaning he can as Strong as he is angry, but all are very powerful regardless of this)

  • Weaknesses: While not necessarily an idiot, per say, Asura never really uses much of a strategy, preferring to use the raw strength and rage he has at his disposal. But considering how powerful he is, he doesn't really need to. His anger was also too much for his body to handle, and can kill him if he has too much rage, and his body will start to crumble. This is fixed later thanks to the implantation of the Karma Fortress Mantra Reactor, which negates the weakness. Other wise, Asura has no other Weaknesses.

That should do it
