Errrr... Hi. My name is Ana and I'm a writer and a big Disney fan. I also like anime. And killing my own characters.

I know how silly this is, but sometimes I try to imagine certain works of fiction if they were to be adapted into animated Disney movies. This includes my own.

I know there's a topic about how you think an adaptation of your work would turn out, but... I can't help but to be embarrassed for doing this.

Please, tell me I'm not the only one who does that? Or something simillar? And I'm having problems imagining my latest work if it were to be turned into a Disney animated movie XD.

If you do the same, please feel free to share your own.

And forgive me if I sounded arrogant, silly or just plain stupid. Even though I do believe I'm an idiot for doing something like that.

I've sometimes daydreamed about what an anime adaptation of my current fanfiction that includes Pokemon would be like. Down to adaptation changes and seiyuu/voice actors. So don't feel bad. 'w'

X_X I feel better now. I'm being honest here, I thought I was the only one who did this kind of stuff.

Ahahahaha, oh man, once I wondered what One Piece would be like as a Disney musical. Probably 'cause of some pictures I found of them in a western style, and I think the artist had a bit of a comparison between Arlong and Hades... or maybe that one was all me there. EITHER WAY it was an amusing exercise.

Also, after watching Tangled, I found myself writing a silly side-story with my characters traveling through a magical musical land, where people spontaneously burst into song, and music has magical properties. Kind of ridiculous, and pretty much an excuse to give one of my characters a villain song. (Genre savvy as he is, he face-heel-turned just for a villain song, then heel-faced back just before the bad guys are defeated)

But yeah, given that I draw my characters too and my style is pretty cartoony, I fantasize up voice actors and even intro themes/ending themes. ^^:

I can actually imagine One Piece as a Disney Animated musical. It would be kind of amusing. And lol at someone doing a Face Heel turn just for the sake of a Villain Song.

XD My latest story is about a girl who's trapped between the world of the living and the world of the dead and has to save death from a wizard so she can either live or die.

I made death the villain (but I guess I could keep death good and have the wizard have an unsipathetic motivation, rather then Fantastic Racism) and rather then a shriking violet pretending to be an energetic Plucky Girl she would be the genuine article.

Unsure of what her backstory would be, though (she acidentaly killed her parents, then got Happily Adopted by her godparents). But I kept her a lethal musician, because it's funny, dangit.

I know Disney would absolutely ruin anything of mine it got its hands on. Sometimes, for Bile Fascination reasons, I imagine precisely how they (or Hollywood, or bad fanfiction) might wreck my story.

If I'm asking for advice on a story idea, don't tell me it can't be done.

I think there's a side of this to what I do, too. I love Disney, though. But I also like killing characters. And sometimes torturing them.

"Nero, did you betray us solely for the sake of performing a villain song?"
"Are you kidding? Of course I did-"
*ANGRY look*
"-Not, that would be unbelievably asinine!"

SO a wizard is trying to kill Death, eh? Sounds interesting... I could only imagine the songs for that. XD

Edit, oh look a post!

Weeeell, this depends on what Disney we're looking at. Black Cauldron Disney, Hunchback of Notre Dame Disney, Mulan Disney, or Hercules Disney.
... Well, granted, those weren't exactly extremely faithful to the original materials, but Disney's not afraid to get dark now and then.

Me, I loooove torturing my characters. I just... use the possible musical-interlude story as a breather episode or non-canon crack episode. ^^;

BUT IT'S A VILLAIN SONG. They're epic. Very much so. Specially Disney villain songs. If I were his teammate, I would forgive him. But only if the villain song was awesome. Hellfire awesome.

XD Specially because wizard's kind of a dork. XD Dead wizard's trying to kill death because he doesn't intend returning to the underworld. At least not before he manages to create a safe haven for wizards, targets of fantastic racism for centuries because there have been some damn evil wizards in the past (I hope this doesn't sound lame?)

Edit: And yeah, dark Disney maybe could work... Frollo is profoundly fucked up. But as I mentioned earlier, Hellfire is awesome.

And a breather episode is a good idea. I like darkness, but I don't like when things are too grim dark. Some silliness and awesomeness is always nice to balance things out.

Disney, when they want to make something work, can really pull off some impressive stuff. Obviously they go the optimistic route, but that doesn't make them bad by default. And I don't see why people assume Disney would turn something into a light fluffyt Saturday Morning Watchmen Cartoon ripoff. These guys produced The Lion King and Pirates Of The Caribbean, remember?

Well, I think about it a lot as well. If that's wrong then I don't want to be right! I usually think more anime than Disney But if they're willing to be daring (ala Hunchback) then that could be very interesting.

They would probably change Blade's Ethical slut-ness to just plain flirtiness.I don't know what they would do with Fiona. Pessimstically I would imagine they'd downgrade her to some Cruella Deville knockoff. Optimistically, she'd be the evil spawn of Frollo and Mother Gothel with an extra dose of creepy. Just as she was meant to be.

The spawn of Frollo and Goethel. Best. Villain. Evar.

I dunno about Adlai. His intentions are good, he loves his brother and he honestly want to help people. He can get nasty when angry. Maybe, if Black-and-White Morality was to be applied, he could be turned into a good guy or removed in favour of the more... Errr... Eviler guy who usurps him. Isn't it sad, Adlai?

Or maybe both Adlai and Sevan could be ditched in favour of Edric, who has genocide tendences and is the reason Sevan is so screwed up.

For my main project: I can see it being animated, easily, with great care and detail, but I'm not sure that it's quite Disney material for various reasons, not the least of which being that some people have a bit of a problem with one of the main protagonists being a Straight Gay Casanova with parental issues. And that's not even bringing up such delightful characters as the physicians of Tsath, the Maker of Masks or Evan the Grey.

But putting that aside, if it were to end up a mainstream animated feature — OK, several — without too much cut out plot-wise... Yes. Full-colour, subtle movements, orchestral soundtrack, the works. The villain songs (assuming there were any) would have to be fairly low-key, however, excepting those of Nouriel IV, Lord of the Unbounded Territories, which would have to be enormous and over-the-top; Tiberius, which would be appropriately elegant and complex; and the Maker of Masks, which would just be... a bit off. In Evan's case, however, a simple leitmotif would suffice. A simple, unnervingly pleasant leitmotif.

Regarding my other "big thing," Hello!: Not movie material, but animated sitcom material. And by "sitcom material," I mean "material fit only for the most depraved and demented of Invader Zim-era Nick shows while still remaining TV-PG or lower." I say this because, while far weirder than many kids programs, it's a whole lot less blatantly "adult" in construction than most Adult Swim or related programs.

My stories would work best as an animated show, I think!

I can seriously see the two main ones being traditional Disney. They wouldn't even have to edit out any 'child-unfriendly' bits.

Oh wait, they'd want to shoehorn in some romance, I guess.

I could see my settings being turned into a Disney film, assuming Disney would tolerate all the demons and eldritch horrors. Zaran il Legio is already very lighthearted and the only reason it doesn't contain musicals is because it's a comic. The main problem would actually be thinking up a plot for a feature-length movie. Forgotten Lore could work if you toned down the darker elements that start popping up towards the end of the stories. I actually have a Villain Song or two planned for the Big Bad, one being a blatand ripoff of a Disney song (and is the one I'm thinking about including in the comic, altho the viewers will only see a panel or two worth of singing before the scene changes).

If Milo's story were a disney musical, there would have to be a training montage song a la I'll Make A Man Out Of You.

I can't think of any other potential songs that wouldn't be soaked in angst.

Assuming I were ever to go completely insane and allow Disney to adapt my work(should they ever wish to for some arbitrary reason), I can't imagine the end result would be anything like what it is now. Many of the leads are varying degrees of unnecessarily violent, the Christian god is just the local God of Evil pretending to be good to piss of his actual God of Good brother, a not insignificant number of my villains are Complete Monsters, one of whom spends much of his time mutilating and eating people. And has an extensive vocabulary of bad words.

This is still a signature.

For an exercise in Uncanny Valley, imagine Disney accurately adapting your work except for medium-related changes like animation and songs.

At first I didn't realize I needed all this stuff...

I dunno. An adaptation of my work wouldn't be that uncanny, except for the whole Grey and Gray Morality. -_-
