This is an OPEN page for wild mass guesses from the series One Piece which have been Jossed by the series. This page ONLY includes theories that were Jossed during the Totland Arc and onwards. If a WMG on one of the WMG pages is Jossed, please move it here. If only part of a theory is Jossed, please highlight the part of it that was wrong in bold.

Please add new Jossed entries at the bottom of the page.

"Sanji" isn't his birth name.
Rather, it's a nickname that the cooks on the cruise ship gave him, which he's been hearing for so long that he's taken it as his own. In Japanese, "Sanji" is a way of saying "three o'clock", so it's possible that they gave him the nickname because he was mainly in charge of handling plates from the 3:00 pm shift or something.
  • Well, possible, but Sanji is also a given first name. It's when you separate the syllables (San-ji) that it becomes three o'clock. Sort of how like "Onigiri" and "Oni-giri" are two completely separate things.
  • Seems pretty much jossed given the theme naming of his siblings and even his father.

Duval is related by blood with Vinsmoke family
  • However in volume 0 he was considered cursed as he was born so he was abandoned.
    • Jossed. Reiju (Sanji's older sister) mentioned him as an unrelated man who happened to look like Sanji's old wanted poster by sheer coincidence.

Sanji is a tenryuubito
  • Specifically, he's related to Rocinante. They actually looked similar. Sanji said he came from North Blue. He also had talent to act behind the scene.
  • There's reason that Sanji never had his face in wanted poster. One time he did, he is wanted ALIVE.
  • Almost impossible. World Nobles are a such a huge deal, that fact would have been made clear immediately if it was true.
    • Jossed: With all this talk about his father, somebody would've mentioned if they were World Nobles by now. His family were once said to have ruled all of North Blue so they are nobles just not the Celestial Dragons who only live in Holy Land Mariejois.

"Calico" Yorki was a member of the Vinsmoke family
This would explain Brook's reaction; he familiarized the Vinsmoke name with his old captain.
  • I'm gonna say Jossed now, as he lacked the telltale swirly brows. In fact, it's more likely that the Vinsmokes were the ones who killed Brook.
    • Wouldn't be surprised due to this generations dispositions it is definitely well within their modus operandi. Another possibility is that Brook fought against them while he was still the leader of a battle convoy in a "certain kingdom" before becoming a pirate.

Jajji killed Sanji's mother
Jajji dismisses Sanji's whole demeanor as being the remnant of a person long dead, and we learn that Sanji inherited his kinder nature from his mother, who died when he was very young. And given what we've seen revealed of Sanji's childhood with his family up to now, plus the absence of any mention of his mother prior to now, plus what we know about Jajji himself...
  • Jossed. While it was pretty much his fault, he didn't actually kill her himself; she killed herself by taking a drug in an attempt to undo the effects of the experiments he ordered on their unborn children.

Sanji will break his Would Not Hit a Girl rule with Pudding
Sanji has always held back on hitting a woman thus far, even if it meant nearly dying several times. So why would Pudding be any different? Because it's become personal. Yes, plenty of other females have been antagonistic to the Straw Hats, but they were usually just following the Big Bad. None have sunk quite as low as Pudding has. She strung all of them along, making them believe that everything would be all right if Sanji married her, and being a seemingly-perfect wife for Sanji; his one bit of happiness in having to give up his friends and his dreams. It's not just that she plans to kill Sanji, his sister, and his crew, but the sadistic glee she reveals in playing all of them to this point. The look on Sanji's face is one of utter heartbreak and betrayal. Pudding is almost as much a monster as Big Mom, and Sanji may very well have to give in & kick her across the island to save his crew now.

  • Jossed.

Jinbe's duty is to his ex-crew.
There is a reason why Camie told Luffy that if she told the details about the crew leaving Fishman Island after Jinbe's Warlord of the Sea status was revoked, it would be a long story (seen here). Also, there was some speculation to why the crew didn't join the fight against Hody and where they are now. It's possible that the crew is no longer in good terms with Jinbe (especially after Jinbe continued to be a Warlord and remained friendly with Whitebeard after Fisher Tiger's death and Queen Otohime's (supposed) assassination by a human.) Perhaps Jinbe wants to reconcile with his crew before he joins the Straw Hats and explain to them what had really happened.
  • Jossed, Jinbe's duty was to Big Mom. Furthermore, he never actually quite left the Sun Pirates; in fact, he's still their captain at the moment.

Sanji will fall for Pudding but Carrot will involuntarily snap him out of it
If his reaction at just seeing her photo is of any indication, and she turns out to be a good person and a good match for him, he'll fall for her hard, even more in case she was the only good-looking woman around (imagine if her other sisters were as ugly as Big Mom); he'll lose his usual antics, and think marrying Pudding is the best course of action. Just when they are about to be married, the "Rescue Team" will come crashing the party (in more ways than one) and Carrot, happy to see Sanji again, will instinctively "garchu" him. Such physical contact will awake him from his trance, realizing he was leaving his friends behind.
  • Jossed. He fell for her alright (although that's to be expected. What's more surprising is that she turned out to like him back), but he was able to put his friends first without Carrot.

Chapter 827's cover story will feature Boa Hancock
  • Jossed, it features Emporio Ivankov.

Big Mom adopts women as her daughters Similar to Whitebeard and his sons.
Considering that Pudding is apparently her thirty fifth-daughter, which is impossible even by One Piece standards, maybe she takes in women she likes and calls them her daughters. She might have some actual daughters, but most of them are probably unrelated women who decided to join the Big mom Pirates.
  • While unlikely, 35+ children is completely possible. The current record holder is 69 from a single woman!
  • Jossed. She did have a lot of kids. It's possible that some of them might be her stepdaughters/sons from her husbands though or adopted...but it's definitely different than what Whitebeard did.
    • Yeah Whitebeard would NEVER lay a hand on one his sons let alone kill them like she did.

Jimbe is the one standing on the coast, and he's lost an arm
Well, you already knew this theory was coming. I speculate he's lost an arm to Big Mom's roulette, which shouldn't be too bad honestly. As Shanks proved, somebody of such high caliber should be fine with missing just an arm.
  • Jossed. It's not clear yet whether there really was somebody there or if it was just an illusion, but it appeared to be Sanji and Pudding- not Jimbe.

One of the Charlotte siblings is standing at the coast
Somebody who would be expecting the Straw Hats via Pudding's word, of course.
  • Jossed. It may have just been an illusion, but either way it was said by Luffy to be Pudding herself and also Sanji.
  • Although you know, technically, it probably was Charlotte Brûlée posing as Sanji and Pudding so...

Luffy's bad cooking is intentional
  • Or : How Luffy's being Magnificent Bastard.
  • First, it's impossible for him to survive if he didn't know to cook at all. Plus, isn't it weird that Luffy offered to cook in the first place?
He planned it all along! The reasons as follows.
  • Noticed that, unlike saving Robin (or any other critical mission) Sanji is not really in danger.
  • The crew he brought in the mission are the 'coward' ones. This is lampshaded by the chapter cover, where Usopp, Nami, Chopper and Brook are the ones freaked out in rollercoaster.
  • Luffy thought that the crew might be disheartened - for the fact they're possibly going against yonkou's crew, plus Sanji himself is not in real danger (bonus point if he really liked Pudding and considered to stay). It might weakened their resolve.
  • He intentionally made bad food, in order to make his crew realized the importance of Sanji. "We must have him at any cost! The alternative is starvation!" he manipulates them to think this way.
  • He probably didn't plan to lost all rations...however he was distraught by the newspaper that the fire ended up burned it anyway.
    • Alternatively, he ate all the food beforehand. Luffy didn't have issue of 'starving' the crew (noticed that in Alabasta arc Usopp, Luffy and Chopper eating all rations so the Strawhats ended up have to fish to find food). He could calculate they would reach Big Mom's in few days, so it's not like they would really starve. Plus, they could always fish.
  • Being poisoned could also be part of his plan. After Impel Down, he was immune to most poison anyway, it's not like he'd die from it. He's guilt-tripping the others.
  • I'm gonna say Jossed seeing as how he almost did actually die from this poisoning as a result of his culinary incompetence. Also, the whole "Luffy has been doing an Obfuscating Stupidity gambit this whole time" thing is pure Fan Wank; going by what we've actually been given about his character from Oda, there's no reason to think that he'd have the wits to devise such a lesson for his crew. He really does just suck at cooking.

The Vinsmoke kids' ages
Not counting Sanji who we already know is 21, of course;

Reiju: 27

Ichiji: 25

Niji: 23

Yonji: 19

  • Jossed, the four boys are quadruplets. Reiju's age is still unknown, however.
  • Now fully Jossed, Reiju is 24.

The symbol on Vito's hands and forehead...
...Is none other than the Germa 66 insignia. Though he's not a member, he claims to have admired them for a long time so it's possible he got their symbols tattooed on his body.
  • Jossed, The Germa 66 are not shown to use that emblem.

We've already seen some of the Vinsmoke family
The underworld brokers who were watching Caesar's broadcast? At least one of them was a Vinsmoke. In fact, there were two in particular- both long blond haired men- who possibly could have been one of Sanji's brothers.
  • Maybe while we have seen some of the Vinsmoke family the father and two oldest brothers are still a no-show.
  • Jossed. None of the silhouettes we saw in Punk Hazard resemble any of the Vinsmokes.
    • definitely jossed since all now all of them have appeared.

Burgess is planning to steal Devil Fruit's powers from Donquixote's Family members

Maybe I am reaching too far here... But what if Burgess is planning to take Devil Fruit powers from some or all of Donquixote's Family members? I mean, he was here for a Mera Mera fruit, while Teach already had one fruit of a logia type. We don't know how Teach took the power from Whitebeard and how he survived it, but he managed to do so. Almost all members of Donquixote family have devil fruit powers, so maybe Teach will give devil fruits with their powers to his crew? Burgess also carries on his back a bag with an image which closely resembles a devil fruit, which seems to be full. What if it is packed with devil fruits? What if he knows the way to steal the devil fruit's powers from their users without killing them, and will use it to steal the powers from members of Donquixote's family? Or what if he already did it, and that was the reason, why it took so long for him to reach there? Alternatively:

  • Jossed. It's likely he would have tried to take one of their powers if the opportunity came around, but it would seem his target was mostly just the Flame Flame fruit and went after Luffy when he saw an oppertunity.

Sanji has an angsty past (before Baratie) where he failed to protect someone
One of Sanji's Berserk Buttons is when the villain he's fighting calls him weak and says that he can't protect anyone. From being at his limit, lying bleeding on the ground or barely being able to stand, he instantly goes from 0 to 100 and goes batshit insane. He proceeds to beat the villain to a bloody pulp while enraged shouting "Who's weak?! Who can't protect anyone?! Who's your daddy?!" or something like that.

Pre-Baratie, Sanji was a normal kid with a normal haircut who lived peacefully in North Blue. But then something really crappy happened. Maybe pirates came and burned it all to the ground. Whatever happened, his home was successfully destroyed. He tried to protect a family member, friend, or childhood love interest, he failed. The person he tried to protect probably got killed because no one is safe in flashbacks. Along the way, he managed to fuck up his left eye or the left side of his face so badly that he hides it under his hair because he doesn't want to be reminded of the past. So he joined that random ship as a chore boy and vowed to never become so weak that he fails to protect people he loves. Something like that.

  • And during the second half of the story, we'll get even more Backstory on the main characters. Double your sadness, double your glum! (With Doublemint Devilfruit Gum!)
  • It could certainly be possible, what with the very recent revelation that Luffy and Ace had Sabo, who was apparently killed by the World Nobles visiting their island. Which means that to date, Sanji is the only Straw Hat who's left to reveal whether he lost anyone important during his childhood or not.
  • Word of God said that Sanji's eye underneath the hair was perfectly functional. This was proven after the Time Skip.
  • Jossed, that's not how his past unfolds.

Sanji will weaponize his nosebleeds.
We've seen what happens when he gets one-flying incredibly far. Now what would happen if he was fighting a bad guy, and a bunch of sexy women showed up? Nosebleed rocket head butt, that's what.

Furthermore, he never actually quit the Sun Pirates; in fact, he's still their captain at the moment. They also seem to be very fond of him and do not begrudge him wanting to join the Strawhats.

Kidd will team up with Law and Luffy to take down Big Mom.
Between the Chekhov's Gun of him attacking her allies, and these arcs all possibly being part of the "Super Rookie Saga", the concept seems fairly obvious. I'm gonna go out on a limb and say he's going to join them at Wano, which shall be the next and probably last destination before the assault on Whole Cake Island.
  • Jossed, Law ends up not being involved in the operation against Big Mom and Kidd is currently incapacitated several islands away. He could be held prisoner at Wano and join them that way however.

Big Mam has a plant logia or paramecia
The last two characters in her name which mean Mam can be translated as mum or mom instead. Mum is one nickname for a flower called chrysanthemum. This flower is actually used as the symbol for the imperial seal of Japan as well as other things related to the emperor.(Though this could simply be a subtle pun on her status as a Yonkou) However, the major hint at her having plant powers is that her flag itself has a tree in the bottom right corner.
  • It could also be a Zoan, of the as-of-yet unseen plant category.
    • I don't know if Trees are classified as animals.
      • They aren't. Animals and plants are entirely different kingdoms of life.
      • Mythical Zoan model Dryad/Wood Nymph could work
  • Jossed, she has the Soul Soul Fruit. It's unrelated to plants (though plants happen to be one of the things she can give life to).

Big Mom's monstrous form is actually a manifest Logia form to hide her true form
  • From what I've seen, her head is far too big to support the rest of her body, and even with the strange body shapes of the characters, they at least have a big enough body to not make the head seem oversized. I'm guessing she ate some sort of Acid Acid Fruit that allows her to drool acid
  • Jossed, she has the Soul Soul Fruit. And as far as we can tell, that's her real body.

Big Mom's Devil Fruit power is similar to Wapol's
With the big difference that it allows for the creation of living objects. By eating people along with lots and lots of food, Big Mom transforms them into other creatures. This would explain the presence of living doors, living flowers, and even the singing figurehead of her ship. Technically, it'd be the "direct superior" of Wapol's DF.
  • Jossed, her powers don't work that way. What they do is take life-force from people and transfers it to non-sentient objects.

Big Mom's Devil Fruit power is time-related
She killed one of her sons in a blind rage by quite literally ripping a significant portion of his lifespan from him and eating it; the easiest conclusion is that it was related to his personal timeline and that she used her Devil Fruit to rip away a portion of said timeline, thereby cutting him off from causality and killing him because his timeline had ended. If that is the case, she probably has far greater time-manipulation abilities at her disposal than merely just stealing personal timelines.
  • Jossed, the "time" is only a technical aspect of her power, as it has more to do with her controlling a piece of a person's soul rather than time itself.

Kaido has the strongest of all Zoan Fruit and Big Mom has the strongest Logia.

White Beard had the most powerful Fruit in his class. Shanks doesn't have a devil fruit, but is most likely the strongest non-devil fruit owner, or one of them. It would make a great deal of sense if the other two Emperors had the strongest fruits in their respective classes.

  • Following from this...
  • Partly Jossed so far, Big Mom ate a Paramecia fruit.

3 out of 4 Vinsmoke sons are clones
And only one of them (probably Sanji) is the original one.
  • Jossed; all 5 Vinsmoke children were, however, genetically enhanced.

Sanji'and his brothers are clones
The only original one is Reiju. Jajji wanted sons (he called his daughter 0 like - 'you don't count and all') so he cloned all four of them OR...
  • Jossed; all 5 Vinsmoke children were, however, genetically enhanced.

Sanji's brothers are cyborgs
Yonji was being fixed in some sort of mechanical workshop rather than a hospital, so it's likely he's got some sort of mechanical components to him. His facial injury from Sanji was also very inhuman looking; it looked more like dented metal than broken bones. As for the other ones, when Sanji punched Ichiji as a child, it made a "clang" sound effect, which could only mean that he must have metal plating under his skin. As for why Sanji himself isn't a cyborg, it's simple; Judge saw he was weak as child and chose not to have him modified since he thought he'd be "useless" anyway.
  • Very close, but no dice. The Reveal in chapter 840 all 5 Vinsmoke children are meant to be genetically engineered Super Soldiers, however Sanji`s special DNA is inactive for some reason.

Sanji's mother or eldest brother is currently at the Reverie.
Since Reiju mentions that the Vinsmokes are allowed to attend the Reverie- and since the Reverie is going on right now- at least one high ranking member is probably present there. But Sanji's father is likely dedicated to this whole wedding plan, and since he's subtely being brought up as a threat, he's almost certainly going to be at Whole Cake Island right now. That leaves just the matriarch and possibly the eldest son to go to Reverie. Of course, this is assuming Sanji's mom isn't dead like everybody else's, but we'll see.
  • The older brother part is jossed, as Sanji's older brothers have just finished liberating a war-torn country in chapter 828. The mother part, however, is still up in the air.
  • And now the WMG is fully jossed, with the mother revealed to have died some time in Sanji's early childhood.

One of Sanji's brothers will be a major ally.
To go along with the above WMG of Sanji's father becoming a major villain, maybe one of Sanji's brothers (or other siblings, if he has any) will side with him to take down their father; either for personal reasons or because he/she thinks Mr. Vinsmoke went too far.
  • Chapter 826 has introduced Yonji, who has the same exact reaction to beautiful women as his older brother Sanji. Unless all male Vinsmokes are that way, he could be a good candidate since he may share Sanji's chivalry towards women.
  • If I had to bet, it would probably be the second son. The first and Yonji seem to be too evil so far. At the very least, the second son called the first on his bullshit when he said he "couldn't wait to see Sanji", so it's a good sign.
  • Isn't it going to be his sister? One Piece had used female-villain-turned-good plots several times (ex: Robin, Viola, even Vivi and Nami to minor extent) and she kinda reminded me of how Nojiko acted to Nami.
  • It isn't looking too likely right now considering how cruel they were to Sanji, giving him a very good reason to hate his family's guts. The possibility of a Heel–Face Turn from one of them still remains, but it's not very high yet.
  • Aaand chapter 839 brought the chances of this WMG happening to oblivion; between the fact that Sanji's siblings laughed imagining the various ways he'd die after running away when they were kids, Niji's incredibly petty attitude and his beatdown of Cosette which made Sanji hate him even more, there's no way in hell they'll ever be anything more than enemies. Plus the three of beat Sanji pretty badly in chapter 841 after they threatened Zeff. Reiju is more likely but still pushing it (alot).

The symbol on Vito's hands and forehead...
...Is none other than the Germa 66 insignia. Though he's not a member, he claims to have admired them for a long time so it's possible he got their symbols tattooed on his body.
  • Jossed, The Germa 66 are not shown to use that emblem.

• And now the WMG is fully jossed, with the mother revealed to have died some time in Sanji's early childhood.

Sanji's mother was the one with the curly eyebrows
What significance could this have? Who knows, but I'm throwing it out there since we still have yet to see Judge without his mask.
  • Jossed we can see her in Sanji's flashback, chapter 841. Normal, but thin eyebrows

Sanji's mother is still alive.
Judge simply had her locked up like Sanji because he didn't want her love and good moral to taint his children's potential, and claimed she was dead to prevent them from asking any questions. Eventually, she either broke out on her own or was broken out by someone, either opting to live the rest of her life alone since there was no way to break her kids out of Judge's control, or plotting for all those years to do just that. If this is true, as for Sanji, she probably searched high and low for him in vain ever since she found out he was alive and had escaped.
  • This seemed unlikely since One Piece had tendency to kill mothers, with Oda claiming 'mother is an opposite of an adventure', but we'll see.
    • Jossed in chapter 841, she only appears in flashback

Sanji's mother died accidentally while defending him
From a very tender age, Jajji was imposing some very strict training on his sons; Sanji lagged behind and this caused his father to go even harder on him. One day, during some harsh sword training, Sanji's mother intervened and Jajji accidental stabbed her. The wound wouldn't even been lethal for an healthy woman, but she was weaker since she gave birth to the quadruplets and eventually died. This caused the situation we have seen in Sanji's flashback: he wasn't responsible for his mother's death but in his father and brothers' mindsets, it had ultimately happened because he was weak, and so he deserved all the coldness and bullying. Not much the first trauma but rather the subsequent treatment he received, also caused Sanji's refusal to hit women and to use his hands for fighting.
  • The mother dying part is confirmed, but the rest of the WMG is Jossed; Sanji was bullied and beaten because unlike his siblings, he hadn't made any progress ever since they started their Training from Hell.
    • Jossed about her defending him as well: she just died of an illness in the same manner as Usopp's mother.

The remaining Emperors (Kaidou and Big Mom) will have black hair and blue hair.
We've already got Red-Haired Shanks and Whitebeard. The significance of those colours? They're the Four Emperors.
  • Like Blackbeard?
    • Since Blackbeard already has one of the orignal colors of the Gods, I guess Momma with be Bluebrows & Kaidou will be Yellow Sideburns then if it's both color and hair motif.
  • Confirmed for Kaido having black hair, we have yet to see Big Mom's.
  • Jossed for Big Mom though, a volume cover reveals that she has pink hair.

Nami will control Zeus and Prometheus and annihilate the enraged army
Since Zeus and Prometheus are homies and Big Mom's not present, Nami should be able to save her and Luffy's hides by using the Vivre Card to force them to burn/shock the enraged army.
  • Jossed. She apparently did control the thunderclouds that Zeus and Prometheus created, but not the Homies themselves. And she though she did manage to take out a lot of the grunt soldiers with a lightning bolt, the stronger ones easily survived and captured both her and Luffy.
  • Half-confirmed, half-jossed. Nami DOES take control of Zeus—and even takes Zeus with her outside of Totland. Prometheus, however, remains with Big Mom.

Pudding plans on attacking Big Mom/starting a ruckus at the wedding
This is the only thing she could've said aside from suicide or running away that I think would've cause Nami and Luffy's strong reactions. Don't have any idea how this would pan out since we've yet to see her have any combat capabilities- plus the massive odds against her- but just throwing it out there.
  • The "attacking Big Mom" part is Jossed, but the "starting a ruckus" part, in that she plans on killing Sanji.
  • I'll just put this in Jossed because my intent with my ruckus guess was that she'd be doing it to save Sanji, not kill him.

Pudding plans on committing suicide- but she won't be successful
As dark as this is, we already know that Oda is willing to go there because Baby 5 tried to commit suicide just last arc. Anyway, Pudding is planning on killing herself, and in her mind, this will release Sanji from his bond. Of course, we know that assuredly won't work because Big Mom probably has plenty of unwed daughters to take her place; so, hopefully, she'll either come to her senses or she'll be interrupted. THIS, or...
  • ...or nothing, as it was Jossed: she plans on killing Sanji.

Pudding plans on running away from Big Mom.
She had a flashback of Lola leaving in her (Pudding's) childhood, as she seemed to ponder the entire situation. Being out of options to ensure the Straw Hats' happiness and safety, she'll forfeit her own and run away from home before the marriage, thus ruining another important political marriage for Big Mom. Of course, in doing so she'll probably end up in her mother's crosshairs like Lola did, hence Luffy and Nami's horrified reactions at the end of chapter 848.
  • Jossed: she plans on killing Sanji.

Upon the Vinsmokes' defeat...
  • Big Mom will call the wedding off when she sees the Vinsmokes defeated by the Straw Hat Pirates, deeming them as having become too weak to be of much use because some upstart pirate crew who hadn't even existed for three years takes them down. In addition, Big Mom may feel insulted if she ever finds out that Judge has chosen to marry off Sanji because he is Judge's least important child, as she'll interpret this decision as Judge trivializing her. However, this does not end the conflict with Big Mom, because now she'll have her eyes on the Straw Hat Pirates instead. She may even still be interested in Sanji, only now as a Straw Hat Pirate rather than a Vinsmoke.
    • Jossed due to the set up being inaccurate; Big Mom was never planning on allying with the Vinsmokes. She plans to kill all of them, including Sanji.

Sanji's cause of defection is because of a woman hostage
  • Sanji should have known Strawhats are strong enough to go against the world, unlike Robin, he wouldn't worry about the safety of the crew. Even with his hand at risk, it shouldn't be enough reason to defect from strawhats.
  • Germa had, in fact, threatened Sanji with the safety Baratie and Zeff. This is already strong enough reason for Sanji to obeyed them, but we still see him struggled for few chapters before he changed his mind.
  • I propose that, a better 'hostage' for Sanji, even more than Zeff and Baratie, would be... a woman. It doesn't actually matter who, since Zeff himself would have kicked him if he dared to risked the safety of a woman. If Sanji saw this woman being threatened in front of his eyes, he had no choice but to obey.
    • Bonus point if it were just a random, helpless civilian like the servant who served Germa. Cosette?
    • Or maybe Pudding, if Germa revealed they planned to backstab Big Mom and this girl might be threatened unless Sanji willing to go with the plan.
    • Alternatively it was Reiju. This is because he owed her, and because Reiju herself might told to act as a hostage by the Germa. Sanji figured that out, but he still obeyed because he can't lose her. If it was a random civilian, or even Nami herself, Sanji could just ask the strawhats to help release the girl instead. Unless he was delaying time.
    • Jossed, there's nothing to suggest there's some woman he came there to save.

Pudding is either a Time Master or has some sort of Reality Warper powers
Those weird clocks on the trees in the Seducing Woods were products of Pudding's Devil Fruit, as are all the clocks inside her home on cacao island.
  • Jossed, she has the power of memory manipulation.

Reiju will not pull a Heel–Face Turn in the Totland Arc
She obviously isn't a bad person at heart, but I don't think she'll go so far as to turn on her family and help the Straw Hats right at this moment. She's morally complex for sure, but I believe she's so indoctrinated into the Vinsmoke's way of life that it'll take her a bit longer to switch sides at this point. I do expect her to be an ally at some point though.
  • Jossed, she effectively switches sides by chapter 852.

The Vinsmoke quadruplets are not younger brothers of Reiju, but her clones
Judge's wife wasn't a woman he loved, but just a "best match" on a genetic level. However, after she gave birth to a girl, something happened (she died? She became unable to have more children? She escaped?) and Judge was left with no other chance to have the "perfect" son he wanted naturally. So he decided to have Reiju's DNA worked on and, to stay safe, to have more than one gender-swapped clone of her produced. While Reiju was later genetically enhanced like her brothers/clones and got the same training as them to be a future leader, she is secretly resentful for being considered inferior only because she was born female, right from her own name.
  • Pretty much Jossed, although not quite yet... their mother was still alive when her sons were around so it's much more likely that she gave birth to them naturally.
  • For sure Jossed by chapter 852, as Reiju recalls her mother's pregnancy. Also, seeing as how their mother felt she had the right to openly challenge Judge on the modifications, it would seem she wasn't just some sort of sex slave.

The fights in the Totland arc will be like in Enies lobby over handcuff keys
I find it doubtful that Luffy is going to fight Big Mom at this point so it's more likely Jajji will be the final boss and considering Sanji is in handcuffs they are going to have to release him from them so his siblings probably each will have a key.
  • Jossed, The cuffs are fake so no such thing will transpire.

Totland's government is run by Big Mom's children
With the eldest being a de facto president. Because their mom is so deranged, someone has to do the proper job of managing the country.
  • When Big Mom realizes that, she will be so enraged she will attempt to kill all of her children.
  • Jossed. Crazy as she is, it's made perfectly clear later on that she still manages her country and crew herself. She does, however, have a lot of her kids working in her government.

Pudding has hypnotism powers
Since she seems to be the three-eyed girl briefly seen at the time of Big Mom's introduction, just with hair covering the third eye, what if it gives her some ability (which may be connected to a Devil Fruit or not) to hypnotize people? Regardless of her being evil, or feeling exactly as Sanji about the marriage, the may come into play in the future.
  • Jossed. Her power is somewhat similar to hypnotism since it involves affecting memories, but it's not quite the same thing.

Caponee Bege was one who attacked Reiju
Perhaps she overheard something she wasn't supposed to and Bege attempted to kill her. The castle she was limping around may also be Bege's body.
  • Jossed — she was attacked by Pudding.

Pudding (Sanji's Fiance) will actually be perfect for him
Given Big Mom's nature, everyone's immediate assumption is that her daughter would be a complete Gonk. But given Oda being Oda, it's going to be a plot twist that not only is she beautiful, but her personality is exactly what Sanji believes to be his ideal woman who he genuinely wants to settle down with. This will turn the drama of Big Mom's tea party from "Straw Hats rescue Sanji" to "Sanji struggles to move past his feelings and return to the crew".
  • According to chapter 824, Pudding is indeed a very beautiful and cute girl. The jury's still out on her personality though.
  • Confirmed in chapters 827 and 828. Pudding herself flat out says they have tons in common (including being chefs, for starters), and it would seem she already fell in love with him. However, you didn't give Sanji enough credit; shockingly, he turned her down fairly quickly for the sake of getting back to the crew.
  • Jossed later on with the revelation that she's actually anything but perfect for him. Maybe she'd be a nice pair with Niji, though.

Luffy is the reason Jinbe didn't break out from Big Mom
Disclaimer : I found this theory on a forum. Instead of his life or his body part, Big Mom is actually asking Luffy as a price if Jinbe tried to get out from her crew.
  • Jossed, he knew that the wheel would be fatal so he turned it down and just betrayed her anyway.

Law didn't actually return Caesar his heart. The heart which is now in Strawhats' team possession doesn't really belong to Caesar
So far no one was shown to squeeze his heart, and while Sanji threatened to do so, he never did, and Caesar didn't seem to be afraid ot it. It also doesn't make much sense, that Caesar still didn't try to put his heart inside his chest, he really wanted to return it in Dressrosa, yet when he was actually given it by Law, he didn't bother to put it inside him to be able to be free from Law's blackmailing and escape when there is a chance (The heart evem ended somehow to be in Sanji's possession). It could be that Caesar wanted to do so, but after getting his heart back, he somehow learned, that it didn't actually belong to him, and hence him being unable to put it inside his chest, and now he doesn't care. Even if he doesn't know about it (which doesn't make much sense with aforementioned information), it doesn't matter, because this is exactly what Law wants him to think. It won't make him any good, if Caesar learns that Law gave him someone else's heart. What about Law himself, he doesn't have any reasons to return Caesar his own heart, it is much safer for him to hold it with himself. In case someone (Big Mom, Kaido or Doflamingo (prior ending of Dressrosa) ) catches him, he still can use it as a trump card to blackmail both Caesar and the one who captures him, without being afraid that Caesar betrays and backstabs them.
  • Jossed, Perospero squeezed it and it hurt Caesar.

Luffy isn't asexual
  • He wanted to be pirate king, which he defined as the one with the most freedom in all ocean. He simply didn't want to be tied down with girlfriend/wife/romantic partner of some sort. Too uptight.
  • The last pirate king was romantically involved with someone, which resulted in Ace. And Luffy knew how Ace was unhappy with this. He might wanted to avoid the same mistake.
  • He could also figure that love is a whole different adventure, and he'd rather deal with one at a time. Perhaps, once he has concluded his current adventure by becoming a pirate king, he will find the time for romantic relations.
    • Well, the thing is, simply not wanting to be in a relationship is a totally different thing from not showing any sexual attraction at all. And really, that's what makes it likely that Luffy is genuinely asexual; seeing Hancock naked did absolutely nothing for him. Even if he doesn't want to be tied down, you'd think he'd have some sort of reaction (even an embarrassed one) if he had a sense of sexuality at all.
    • Also, the "Happiness Punch" thing from Alabasta (if anybody wants to bring that up) could probably be chalked up to Early-Installment Weirdness or Rule of Funny at this point, based on the evidence.
    • It is possible be Nami was his Single-Target Sexuality, but definitely downplayed.
  • Jossed for now from overwhelming evidence.

Brook's fruit is the Kryptonite Factor to Big Mom's like Luffy's was to Enel's.
Brook's fruit seems to make him immortal after his first death. Big Mom seems to take life force from the target...but Brook is no longer alive in a traditional sense and in addition even if he has lifeforce, it seems age isn't a concern for him anymore. While Big Mom is probably physically more powerful, he could potentially be a perfect counter to her Devil Fruit powers and be a big asset against her.
  • It turns out that Brook's Soul Power allows him to overwhelm Big Mom's Animate Inanimate Object minions with the sheer force of his soul alone. So he at least has some advantages over her.
  • Hmm... this was really close but it should probably be counted as Jossed because, whereas Luffy was completely immune to Enel, Big Mom's Devil Fruit actually has it's own advantages over Brook's fruit in addition to its weaknesses. So they're not really completely mirrored situations.

Sanji will be forced to cook for Big Mom.
Having been captured by the Big Mom pirates, the next time we see the rest of the Straw Hats they'll be imprisoned and only being kept alive as long as Sanji keeps cooking sweets.
  • Highly likely as we enter the Whole Cake Island Arc.
  • Initially Jossed. Her entire nation is stocked to the brim with chefs who are also likely world-class in skill, so there was really never any need to make Sanji cook for her. Besides, she only wanted him there so she could kill him and his family.
  • Zig-zagged, ultimately: Sanji does cook a new wedding cake for Big Mom to stave off her appetite after the old one is ruined by Luffy and the Tamatebako exploding, but not because he has to, but because every second she isn't sated, she is an unstoppable force of devastation who is IMPOSSIBLE to flee from.

Sanji is latently homosexual.
During the Alabasta arc, he joked that Zoro had become an okama (Japanese equivalent of 'queer'), but he might have been projecting his own unconscious attraction to men. Plus, his Ironic Hell might be hinting at something he wishes not to think about. Bonus points if it turns out Zoro isn't his type.
  • On Zoro, though - some fans think the two are into each other, but in denial.
    • Disagreed: the way they fight is almost exactly like Sanji and his surrogate father Zeff's relationship, which implies a purely familial bond. The trash-talking is probably Sanji's way of expressing brotherly affection. As for Zoro...he's just irate. He's like that with Nami as well, only the beatings mostly come from her. (And no, it isn't Slap-Slap-Kiss. People who believe this are lying to themselves.) Then again, the possible inter-crew relationships period just feel incestuous.
      • If that's true, then it's possible Sanji actually considers Zoro his best friend. Awww...
      • well, that much is certain.
      • It's also possible that Sanji actually likes Zoro, but the latter is too clueless and irate to even notice The fact that Sanji likes to pick on him shows that he actually has an especially huge soft spot for the guy.
  • We just found out that people go to Okama island and come back as...well, okama. Things aren't looking too good for Sanji.
    • And now, the spoilers show Sanji turned into an Okama, and looking happier than ever. Holy crap, if this is for real...
    • His kicking Duval shows he apparently has exquisite taste in male beauty...
  • Theory: Sanji loves and admires women because deep down, he wants to be one himself, but had to disguise this as attraction to due to the strict upbringing Word of God once alluded to and repress his real feelings. .
  • Alternatively, Sanji will run into Ivankov and be turned into a woman.
  • The picture of him being an Okama shows him with a angry tic mark on his bare arm. There's an episode dealing with Sanji in Okamaland, can someone watch it for me? I can't bring myself to watch the damn thing.
    • The anime hasn't quite gotten there yet, but it does reveal the reason he's being chased. Basically, he goes to return "Elizabeth's" handkerchief, thinking that everyone on the island are indeed beautiful women. He goes to her home, talks to her through a closed door, where he puts his foot in his mouth big time ("Do you like dresses?" "Oh, of course I do!", "Floral patterns?" "Oh, uh, yeah, they're nice."), and upon going inside realizes the awful truth as "Elizabeth" tries to foist the aforementioned dress on him, thinking that he's one of them.
  • Hm, well if anything, the fact that he ultimately rejected the Okama Way would suggest he is, in fact, genuinely heterosexual. I think we can count this as Jossed.

Yonji will also be voiced by Hiroaki Hirata.
Considering he looks so similar to his big bro, it would make sense for them to share voice actors, or at least have similar-sounding voices.
  • Jossed, Yonji's VA is Kenjiro Tsuda.

Pudding will be a terrible person, to the point Sanji will even break his "never hit a woman" policy
Whether she is the three-eyed girl on Big Mom's ship or not, she will be quite beautiful and Sanji will be mesmerized by her... only for her to reveal a very nasty side; his inability to hit a woman no matter what (even a monstrosity like Big Mom) will sting really a lot. Following a flashback on Sanji's life before the fated encounter with Zeff, showing us what trauma led him to that, Sanji will finally snap out of it and kick Pudding to save one of his crewmates from being killed by her. And given how Sanji's increases in power have worked post-timeskip so far, the loss of that handicap will make him incredibly more powerful - Luffy will be having a hard time against Big Mom and it will be Sanji who effectively defeats her.
  • This is extremely doubtful. Remember, Sanji wouldn't hit Kalifa even if it meant risking not being able to save Robin and/or his own death. At this point I'd have to imagine he would rather pull an Ace and Take The Bullet if Pudding was going to kill a crewmember rather than hit her.
  • Considering the first look we got at her personality in chapter 826, it's pretty much Jossed. She's quite the opposite, a really Nice Girl who's even noted by Nami to be "far too forgiving".
    • Except NOT. She was pretending to be nice the whole time, and OP hit the nail on the head with that part of the theory. It remains to be seen if he'd hit her, but at least half of this is Confirmed so far.
    • The second part is now officially Jossed, however. Not only does Sanji not hit her, but he instead goes so far to call Pudding's third eye beautiful- a display of kindness that shocks her to the point that she has a Villainous Breakdown.

Sanji, on the day of the wedding, is going to try one final move and take Pudding hostage on the altar.
And he´s going to use the bombs strapped to his wrists to do it. As the saying goes..."The most dangerous man in the world is not the one who lost it all, but the one with nothing left to lose."He know he´s a dead man walking, so at least he might try to bargain with his and Pudding´s lives for the sake of sparing the Straw Hats and his family from Big Mom´s ploy. After all, Pudding is her mother´s "favorite girl". Even if Big Mom don´t mind if her daughter dies, Pudding most certainly do if she does. She might even try and help Sanji and the Straw Hats to escape for the sake of keeping her head still in one piece and not splattered all over the walls.Whatever if it works or not is up to debate though.
  • Jossed. [[spoiler: He does actually try "one final move", but it was breaking through Pudding's tough exterior, not taking her hostage.

Pudding is acting as a double agent against Big Mom
Her actions in 848 and 850 along with her first appearance as the three eyed girl gave me a sense of incongruity in her character, the more I think about it the more that something else is seemingly going on. First: her revelation of "Big Mom's plan" doesn't make sense in a Watsonian way at least on the surface, think about it why was she "whispering" them to Luffy in a room where the only people present are Big Mom's allies? Why did she walk away crying if everyone in the room knows her true colors? Sure it serves as a good way to trick the readers in the real world, but I need to give more credit to Oda then this being a simple writing trick, it must make sense in the world of One Piece itself. Now that I think about it, her visit to Luffy was unexpected by her siblings hence the reaction of Opera being surprised by her arrival and the fact that she whisper something in front of him, I ask myself was she actually acting on her own during all these and using whispers because she didn't want Opera to hear what she said? The fact that she also told Reiju later the same information adds to my suspicion, unless of course Reiju end up dead or at least brainwashed immediately after. Sanji being able to eavesdrop also makes for good speculation, she being the only emotional outlet Sanji has left it makes sense for him to go find her on his own volition not to mention a room with an open balcony is hardly a safe place to discuss your evil plan against the Vismokes who has the technology to fly. Second: killing off the other family during a political wedding, no matter who you are, is bad for business, especially for one such as Big Mom who built her empire through such political maneuver, who is going to marry into the family anymore from this point on if you knew you are going to get rubbed off and your wealth and knowledge plundered the second you step into the church? Unless she believes the Vismoke tech alone can elevate her into the throne of the Pirate King, this is a once in a lifetime move for her that might come up short in the long run, not to mention unnecessary since they could easily wipe them out right now that all of Germa Kingdom is within Totland waters and take whatever they want right now without the wedding ever going legit. Third: as some people have already noticed, the first time the three eyed girl showed up she was rather disturbed or disgusted by Big Mom herself and/or her actions, I can't imagine a person who is petty enough to boast her plan to her victims when there was no call for it is the same person as the one above, her tears after whispering to Luffy also looks different from tears from trying to stop laughing too hard. All in all her words only makes sense on one situation to me: to setup a deadline at the wedding in the minds of her audience, the Straw Hats and Reiju, to force them to come up with an ultimatum before the deadline come to past. I have no idea to what end, but we shall see soon in the up coming chapters.
  • There's also the chance that instead of being a "double agent", she came up with a plan to cause the Straw Hats and the Germa family to turn on the Charlotte family. If only because she knows just how much being with Luffy and company means to Sanji. We saw a flashback to when Lola set off on her own and my thinking is that that's what motivated Pudding in carrying out this plan. Also, it wouldn't surprise me if she meant for Sanji to hear what the wedding day plan is to Reiju. What he does with this seemingly false info remains to be seen, but Reiju was hurting at the end of one chapter and it will be interesting to see how that happened.
    • Oh by "double agent" I only meant she was playing both sides, otherwise I agree very much with everything you added. This possibility is getting me more exited the more I think about it, after all many new female characters like Shirahoshi and Rebecca ended up being damsels in distress, it will be quite refreshing to have one who would cross some lines to do the right thing, and I must say that the Straw Hats have been getting too complacent right now and as such have no real hope of challenging the Four Emperors, maybe characters like her will force their hand like Kuma once did, and they come out of the ordeal much stronger both physically and mentally for it. (I mean come on Sanji, how is resigning yourself to fate an action befitting a crew member of the future Pirate King?)
  • Jossed. She was genuinely on Big Mom's side; during her meltdown on the altar, she still keeps saying to herself that she has to kill Sanji for the plan even though she can't bring herself to.

Judge is actually trying take over Totland in a coup
I can't really buy that a power hungry sociopath like Judge is actually ok with being sorta-kinda subordinate to Big Mom (say what you want about this "alliance", but she obviously has more power than him in this arrangement). There's no way he wants to share any of his resources with her. He claimed he needed the alliance because her resources combined with his would make him able to easily take the North Blue. So... he doesn't need her, just her power. I bet he's planning on taking her resources as his own. And just look at his character. He's so arrogant that I imagine he believes he's perfectly capable of defeating Big Mom.
  • We can't say for certain that he's planning on taking over Totland, but we now know that Big Mom is going to attempt to kill him and his family to take their technological prowess.
  • Jossed. He sat calmly at his table at the wedding and was about to be killed if it weren't for Sanji's intervention, which would suggest that he had no such plan.

Totland serves solely to satisfy Big Mom's hunger
Pudding is very mistaken about the 'utopia' her mother created - each and every island in Totland exist only for sweets production purposes or as an emergency supply to stall her from destroying everything on her path. That's why Big Mom (or in reality, her children who run the government of the country) invite people from all over the world as they bring different recipes with them. This is their gambit for survival, as when Big Mom's tantrum happens (asking for some ridiculous sweet), someone may actually have recipe for that.
  • Or it might exist to satisfy her hunger in a different way.
  • Jossed. Linlin also genuinely wants to obtain power and become the Pirate King (Queen?), so it's likely that she didn't make Totland solely for her hunger.

The fight with Big Mom won't be solved through simple combat
After wasting all the food in a single go, Luffy and his group face starvation. When they reach Sanji's wedding party, Luffy will be severely weakened; still strong enough to defeat any mook and most high-level lackeys, but not enough to stand against Big Mom. Just as things turn out badly for Luffy, Sanji will convince Big Mom to rather settle things with an eating contest, counting on her pride and insatiable appetite. The hungry Luffy will prove no match for her. The victory will gain, if not help, at least neutrality from Big Mom in the future, but could have the consequence of turning her into an Abhorrent Admirer of Luffy.
  • Abhorrent Admirer? Big Mom is a Yonko, I imagine she's too mature and cynical to have that type of admiration for anybody, much less some rookie who threatened to kick her ass. Also, I'm sure the Straw Hats on the ship will fish and/or eat from the tangerine tree before they starve to that level.
    • I realize having used the wrong trope: never thought a defeat would make Big Mom interested in Luffy in that way (that's hating the poor guy :p ) but that being defeated at what she apparently does best (eating) may bring her to admire and respect him - although I concede that, so far, she seems far from the type of character with whom Defeat Means Friendship would be applicable.
  • There's definitely not going to be any wacky eating contest shenanigans at this point. There's going to be blood at this tea party and a lot of it.
  • Jossed. There is a detailed plan the Straw Hats and friends are following that's more complicated than just beating her up, but overall, violence has still been the answer.

Big Mom has been alive for a very, very long time
Her Devil Fruit ability seems to give her the power to take away or give away "life". So, maybe she's been stealing people's lifespans and adding them to herself for a long time. That's how she was able to progressively rise to the rank of an Emperor and it's why she's been able to have so many kids and husbands.
  • It's been said, however, that she can't add the souls to "a living human body". Whether that applies to herself though has yet to be seen.
  • The lady has got 84 offspring, a human lifespan doesn't allow for that.
    • Although she could be a giant, they can live for up to 300 years and no-one has confirmed her race.
  • Jossed, she's only 68 years old, as revealed in an SBS. As for the 84 kids, Oda simply says that she had a lot of multi-births. Her record is 10 kids at one time and there are several sets of twins, triplets, quintuplets, etc.

Pudding is older than she looks
She calls Sanji a "little punk", "snot-nosed idiot", and refers to Luffy and Nami as "you kids" when she reveals her motives. Despite the fact she looks around their age, her manner of speech implies she may be much older than she appears.
  • Probably Jossed. An SBS reveals that Big Mom's oldest kid is only 42, so Pudding is probably as young as she looks.
    • All evidence now indicates that she's 16 or 17 (and Big Mom's 41st son is whichever of the two ages that she isn't).

Mama Caramel's identity
Mama Caramel was Big Mom's first created homie and mother figure, her leaving is why Lin Lin doesn't want anyone else to leave her totland or else they will die trying.
  • Expanding on this theory, Mama Caramel contains a massive chunk of Big Mom's soul, including almost all of her capacity for love and compassion. When Mama Caramel left Big Mom, she took her part of her soul with and rendered Big Mom almost entirely incapable of empathy.
  • Jossed, Carmel wasn't a homie. In fact, she had the Soul Soul fruit before Big Mom did.

Big Mom is going to catch Bege's poison missiles
If her flashback proved anything, it's that Big Mom is basically like a wild animal. Even in her shocked state, I bet she's just gonna instinctively do an Arrow Catch with Bege's missiles and crush them in her hand. She's practically unstoppable.
  • Jossed: Her voice shattered them in midair instead.

The Assassination plan will go off without a hitch...
But the moment Big Mom dies, her devil fruit powers will hit the off-switch, meaning that the life-force of all of her homies will return to their rightful original owners...including Prometheus, Zeus and Napoleon, which have been specifically mentioned to be parts of her soul beforehand. So take three guesses on who just came back from the river styx once this happens?
  • She might even return much worse than she was before, effectively become a "zombie-homie" without any restrains on her eating disorder, starting to feast and devour everything within reach the moment she returns from the dead, forcing everyone to cooperate in order to bring this undead gluttonous monster down, before it devours Whole Cake Island and everyone on it.
    • Jossed: It failed at the last and worst possible moment instead.

Big Mom broke Elbaf's warrior code somehow
Considering her flashback starts in Elbaf, she is a giantess and it is mentioned the other giants hate her for some reason.
  • Jossed. She's not a giantess and she wasn't one of Elbaf's warriors. You could say that she "broke their code" in a technical sense though, seeing as how she broke their ceremonial fast and slaughtered a whole village of them.

Big Mom is not an actual person...but a corpse, brought back to life from eating the Soul-Soul Fruit, provided by Mother Caramel who feed her it.

We have seen devil fruits being used on all kinds of weird things (animals, guns, swords...) so the idea of a one being used on a corpse isn't that far-fetched, especially when something known as the "Soul-Soul" fruit is involved. At some point in time, may it be in early or late childhood or at any point in the timeline before her piracy, Big Mom got resurrected by Mother Caramel who feed her corpse with the fruit for whatever reason, may it be an emotional one or otherwise, (Considering that Mother Caramel is dressed as a nun, the idea leans towards Big Mom once upon a time being an orphan at a orphanage, living in a "family" with the other orphans and seeing Mother Caramel as a "mother figure". Her past as a nameless orphan might be what makes discussing Mother Caramel in the present such a sensible and taboo-ridden topic for her, as it would ruin her image as a Yonko if such a backstory came out.) The point here, is that at one point, Big Mom died and Mother Caramel used a devil fruit stored away in the orphanage in order to resurrect her, knowing fully well what the devil fruit was and what it did. (May it be the appearance of the fruit and its effects being known akin to how everyone discovered the Fire-Fire fruit after Ace's...baton pass...off it.) However, in order to bring Big Mom back to life, the fruit could have stolen the life-force of the closest living being in her surroundings in order to kick-start the spark of life in the corpse and make it a homie...which would most likely be Mother Caramel who would have been the one closest to her after feeding the fruit to the corpse. Upon learning what had happened, Big Mom snapped a little, brought back to to the living, and in her madness, silenced the rest of the orphans who came asking after Caramel, further extending her lifespan in the process. Due to her dying, her mind lost the ability to mature, in contrast with her body, which left her with plenty of her more childish traits intact, leading to the creation of Totland (which appears as if it came straight from a lot of fairy tales aimed for chidlren) and her massive sweet tooth along with her selfish tendencies with carried over through her life. She's essentially, in accordance with this theory, a big Psychopathic Manchild, stuck in the body of a corpse that can age, and can't let go or outgrow her past.

  • Jossed, that's not how it turns out.

Big Mom's backstory...
Charlotte Lin Lin was an idealistic pretty girl who believed in the Power of Love (Some traits retained in her daughter Pudding) and thus she went off to the great seas (or even eloped) in search of her True Love. Unfortunately, her partner/husband came to be a total Jerkass and either went off with another woman and left her alone with many children or did other bad things to her. This made poor Linlin turn into a woman we see today - a controlling mafia matron who won't accept any refusals without bloody revenge (it's not unheard of women from past violent relationships to turn controlling and domineering in order to mask their insecurities)
  • Chapter 829 also shows that she's got an eating disorder - while obviously exaggerated here, it's something that sadly exists in reality, and some tragedy in Big Mom's past may have caused it.
  • Jossed. Her Start of Darkness was actually in childhood, long before she ever took her first husband.

Pudding will end up falling for Niji
Bitch and Asshole, the ultimate bombastic couple. I support this guess by Ichiji's comment and Pudding's recent rant (middle panel).
  • Seems Jossed. She falls for Sanji himself for real eventually. Even though it's technically still possible, I doubt Oda would go there at this point.

Ichiji is an item with Pudding and they're planning on betraying their families
What if Ichiji and Pudding already met somewhere/know each other, are a couple, and brought up the idea of this alliance to their parents for the sake of seizing power from both of them? We actually don't know much about Ichiji yet but he seems like a cunning guy.
  • Seems to be jossed.

There will be Yonji x Pudding instead
He looked similar enough to Sanji. It'll probably be a quick progress in the relationship like Baby 5 x Sai.
  • Seems possible for two main reasons now; Big Mom wants one of her daughters to marry a Vinsmoke, and Sanji wants to return to the crew. So, if Sanji gets away successfully, it doesn't seem like too much of a stretch that Yonji or one of the other brothers would marry her instead.
  • Well, they could fall in love, but Vinsmoke Judge makes it clear that he refuses to let any of his other sons marry into Big Mom's family.
  • Also, Yonji is an asshole...
  • ... But then it turns out Pudding is ALSO an asshole. It would be a match made in heaven (hell?) if it weren't for the fact that she plans on killing all of the Vinsmokes. So probably Jossed for now.
  • Funnily enough, Yonji does say that he wouldn't mind marrying Pudding after he sees how attractive she is...
  • Jossed for sure now. Pudding eventually firmly commits to Sanji.

Capone will eventually get a My God, What Have I Done? moment if not a genuine Heel–Face Turn
We've seen that not only he's married one of Big Mom's daughters during the timeskip, they even have a baby. In his current mindset, Capone may see him as just another means to an end, further strengthening his ties with Big Mom and reinforcing himself. After a (predictable) failure against the Straw Hats, however, Big Mom will be furious and that will put even the baby's life in jeopardy, with Capone realizing he put even the life of his infant son behind his hunger for power.
  • Well, turns out later that he's been planning to kill Big Mom anyway since he married Chiffon so time will tell.
  • Jossed. That's not really how things are. As mentioned, he was always planning to kill Big Mom and Chiffon was always in on it. He also has always genuinely loved his son.

The Sanji Retrieval Arc will be a kind of mirror to the Dressrosa Arc
Because not only are the Straw Hats that are in this arc happen to be the other half of the crew + Luffy but they even have three non-nakama along for the ride. Two Mink warriors instead of samurai and a friendly but not all that pleased guide to the next island (Law). As such the crew will take on roles that were taken by their Dressrosa compatriots i.e. Monster: Sanji-Zoro East Blue Coward: Nami-Usopp, Expostion of Story Elements: Brook-Franky, Support: Chopper-Robin.My predictions:1. Sanji, like Zoro will show off his most powerful techniques in order to defeat Big Mom's "powerhouse" character (possibly one of his brothers or Tamago.2. Brook will instead of being given the overarching exposition reveal information about the Germa 66 and possibly other hints about the Vinsmokes, he might even know Grandpa or Grandma Vinsmoke personally.3. Nami will awaken her haki in a tight spot (not certain what tight spot but you can bet there'll be one or two).4. Luffy will fight the Big Bad, which won't be Lin Lin but rather Papa Vinsmoke. And 5. Pekoms won't outright defeat Bege (he is a supernova after all) but his fight and other factors will inspire Big Mom to leave the Straw Hats be for the time being, until Kaidou has been sorted out (the prick). That's all, obviously the themes and the mission itself will unravel in a different fashion to Mingo's death game but I think this arc is designed to give the other crew members an opportunity for growth, particularly Nami and Brook as Chopper got a lot of attention in the Punk Hazard and Zou arcs for his doctoring.
  • Jossed. There's probably some similarities between Whole Cake and Dressrosa in there somewhere, but none of these things ended up happening.

Pekoms won't be allowed back in the Big Mom Pirates.
At least Tamago seems to believe Bege was right for doing what he did, so things aren't looiking too good for him. I don't know if Big Mom is more forgiving towards higher-ranked members (As in "I can tolerate fucking up once, but don't fuck up twice", or something), so he might just get demoted, but he could also be plain kicked out of the crew for failing his assignment and letting his personal feelings get in the way.
  • I'll back you up on this. The fact that he's, um, you know... sailing with enemies right to his boss's location is probably not going to sit very well with Big Mom.
  • Tamago seems to think that he might be able to beg Big Mom to take him back when he finds out that Pekoms survived being shot on Zou.
  • Looking doubtful since Bege plans to attack Big Mom while Pekoms is still loyal to her.
  • Jossed for now. The other members acknowledge him as one of their own when he meets up with them again.

Pudding's expression in the final panel of 875 indicates she's turning into a yandere for Sanji
She looks pretty psycho there, but the heart symbols in her dialogue about Sanji refute the idea that she's back to hating him.
  • Ehhh... turns out she's more like a Tsundere. She's crazy like a yandere for sure, but she's not acting violently or dangerously. So for now, Jossed.

Pudding has been lying about her culinary skills.
This is the real reason why she needs Chiffon's help in making a chocolate chiffon cake for Big Mom. That chocolate house recipe that she boasted to have been an original creation? It's stolen from somebody else. If she were truly an exceptionally skilled chocolatier, why wouldn't she just make the cake on her own instead of relying on a collaboration? Thanks to memory manipulation powers, the secret that she is a fraud has not seriously gotten out thus far. Hey, practically everybody has lied in some way during this arc. If she lied about being a warm and caring person who loves Sanji, what else is she hiding?
  • Absolutely not. The wedding cake was repeatedly stated (Including in chapter 873) to be made from lots of great ingredients, not just chocolate, and took a long time to build so it would be exactly the way Big Mom likes it. One person, not even Sanji, can't just magically make a cake this big and this delicious on their own, they need help. Besides, why would she lie about her culinary skills in the first place? Not only would there be no point, but it would also put her at a disadvantage; she's the daughter of Big Mom, the same woman who slaughtered countless people because of her food-craving syndrome. Lastly, she was the one who offered to make the new cake, helped motivate her siblings to find ingredients, and directly sought Chiffon's help to make it. If she were lying about her skills, she wouldn't have done that, not with Totland as a whole and the Straw Hats' lives on the line (Assuming her tears in 874 are genuine, which the ending caption implies they are); her lying would put them all, including herself, in danger.
  • I'm gonna say this is definitely Jossed. Chiffon would know better if Pudding didn't know how to cook.

Pudding will try to kill Nami
So in chapter 869, we get a glimpse of Pudding gasping at Sanji catching Nami in his arms, and...seeing as how he's the only person to compliment her Third Eye, doesn't it just make the most sense in the world that Sanji paying attention to a beautiful, normal, 2 eyed girl will make Pudding suddenly feel massively insecure? And seeing as how she's, you know, crazy, her natural reaction to her conflicted feelings will probably be to kill whatever's causing her distress. Also, Nami vs. Pudding makes sense thematically too. Sanji defeated Nami's fake groom (Absalom), so now she gets to repay the favor by defeating Pudding.
  • Jossed. She's more interested in just helping Sanji.

What Dogtooth is seeing in the imminent future is...
A complete massacre, caused by Big Mom utterly snapping and starting to rip the souls and killing everyone present at the ceremony, not just the enemy. And the odds are high that she won't just settle for the people at the ceremony, but destroy and devour the life-force out the rest of Totland as well. Dogtooth, with his clairvoyance, have every reason to be pale as a sheet, as he's seeing this happening already and if he fails to stop the trigger to this from being pushed, he will immediately make a Heel–Face Turn and temporarily ally with the straw hats in order to stop Big Mom from devouring the life out of their kingdom. Bonus points if he takes command and rallies the rest of the family in order to do so, as they will be forced to choose between their mother or their lives alongside with the rest of the kingdom as she goes out craving for wedding cake in her mindless rage. By doing so, he will gamble on Benge's words being right and the future he sees can be changed, for all of their sake as if it doesn't everyone will die, him included.
  • Jossed.

Sanji's mom had orange hair
  • Jossed, she had the same shade of blonde hair as Sanji.

A person's shadow is part of his/her soul.
This is why zombies can be made with them.
  • Uh pretty much partly confirmed/jossed for years now, since the Thriller Bark arc. Brook described the shadows as being like the soul and they're certainly similar to them. But overall, they're literally the person's actual shadow.

Law gave Luffy multiple hearts
A bit of a thought process for this one. We know Law can remove hearts (Ex: The 100 pirate hearts and Smoker). We also know he operated on Luffy. What would Luffy need multiple hearts for? Simple. More hearts = more blood flowing, more blood flowing = better Gear 2nd, and less drawbacks since he has multiple organs working together to perform Gear 2nd rather than just one. Now, I understand that there would be no reason for Law to give Luffy multiple hearts, nor any reason that Law should even know how Gear 2nd works. Then again, Rob Lucci found out how Gear 2nd worked just by watching it... Maybe Law did too, and wanted to give Luffy a power boost as so he could become a strong opponent one day? This is merely a theory, of course.
  • More hearts don't increase the amount of blood in your body. It's produced by the bone marrow.
  • It would pump the blood faster. But either way, this seems incredibly unlikely.
  • Jossed.

Doflamingo was actually the one who created the artificial devil fruit that Momonosuke ate.
How else would you explain the mysterious connection between the two of them?
  • Well, it can't be jossed until the Pirate Alliance Saga is over, but...the fruit was confirmed as being created by Vegapunk. There's no reason to assume that's not true, especially since Doflamingo has shown no ability for science or anything like that. Also, a huge part of why he was so mad at Law for kidnapping Caesar is that he needed him to make the devil fruits, so it's not likely he can just make them himself. Also, the connection was actually summed up as just being that Momonosuke once snuck up on Doffy in Dressrosa and saw him torturing a man, which traumatized him.
  • Jossed.

Big Mom is a devil fruit user
She's a "stomach human" who ate the Hara Hara no Mi. Her round shape is because her entire body is a stomach, and her constant craving is a consequence of having so much to satiate. Her acid saliva is concentrated gastric acids. This endless hunger might have also led to developing a very powerful Haki (which is kind of a requirement for staying one of the big players in the New World), as her "ambition" to satisfy the perpetual munchies would know no rest.
  • Confirmed to have ate the soul soul fruit, the stomach fruit is jossed.

The Sanji Retrieval Arc will be a kind of mirror to the Dressrosa Arc

  • Jossed. There's probably some similarities between Whole Cake and Dressrosa in there somewhere, but none of these things ended up happening.

Yonji will also be voiced by Hiroaki Hirata.
Considering he looks so similar to his big bro, it would make sense for them to share voice actors, or at least have similar-sounding voices.
  • Jossed, Yonji's VA is Kenjiro Tsuda.

Totland's government is run by Big Mom's children
With the eldest being a de facto president. Because their mom is so deranged, someone has to do the proper job of managing the country.
  • When Big Mom realises that, she will be so enraged she will attempt to kill all of her children.
  • Jossed. Crazy as she is, it's made perfectly clear later on that she still manages her country and crew herself. She does, however, have a lot of her kids working in her government.

Sanji'and his brothers are clones
The only original one is Reiju. Jajji wanted sons (he called his daughter 0 like - 'you don't count and all') so he cloned all four of them OR...
  • Jossed; all 5 Vinsmoke children were, however, genetically enhanced.

3 out of 4 Vinsmoke sons are clones
And only one of them (probably Sanji) is the original one.
  • Jossed; all 5 Vinsmoke children were, however, genetically enhanced.
    • So far, beside the fact they were all subjected to genetic enhancements, there's nothing really telling us how the quadruplets were born, either naturally or artificially. Of note is that when discussing about the kids's training results, the scientists mentions only the boys and not Reiju.

Also, seeing as how their mother had the gall to challenge Judge on the modifications, it would seem she wasn't just some sort of slave.

Pudding is either a Time Master or has some sort of Reality Warper powers
Those weird clocks on the trees in the Seducing Woods were products of Pudding's Devil Fruit, as are all the clocks inside her home on cacao island.
  • Jossed, she has the power of memory manipulation.

Caponee Bege was one who attacked Reiju
Perhaps she overheard something she wasn't supposed to and Bege attempted to kill her. The castle she was limping around may also be Bege's body.
  • Jossed — she was attacked by Pudding.

Pudding plans to kill Big Mom on the day of her wedding and by doing so end up as her successor on the Totland throne.
The poor girl knows that running isn´t an option (Lola) and suicide will just put one of her half-sisters up on the altar instead, so the only way to save the Straw Hats and Sanji from this mess, will be to kill Big Mom and make sure that she´s dead with zero chances of survival in order to avoid retribution from the mad Yonko...If she succeeds, then she´ll have to avoid the wrath of Germa 66 and Judge who only went along with the whole thing to get the support needed for his plans. Without Big Mom, that falls flat. Either Sanji will have to step in and deliver a long overdue vengeance on his brothers and father in order to save Pudding. Also, extra thought, if she makes it through this then Pudding might end up becoming the next leader for Totland and add the former Big Mom´s crew on to the Straw Hat fleet, while also ending up as a case of Star-Crossed Lovers for Sanji as he goes with the crew on adventure and she has to stay behind to manage the new kingdom that fallen under her responsibility. The engagement might still be a thing, but it become a genuine one instead and at the end of the series, they get married for real.

Just a theory

  • Jossed. Pudding does plan on killing someone, but it's Sanji, as well as the entire Vinsmoke family.

  • Jossed. He does actually try "one final move", but it was breaking through Pudding's tough exterior, not taking her hostage.

Sanji will be briefly Driven to Suicide
The devastating reveal that Pudding is evil has destroyed the only ray of hope Sanji felt to still have. Just recalling how he shooed Luffy and Nami away some chapters earlier must be terrible. It's almost certainly his Darkest Hour. He'll suffer an Heroic BSoD, not caring for anything or anyone anymore, and thinking it's better to surrender to his fate to be killed at the wedding along with his family. Of course, there will be some event that will make him recover at the right time - the WMG just above may still apply...

Sanji will kick Big Mom pretty.
If and when Sanji actually does meet Big Mom, he will probably be horrified with what she looks like. And so, in a Batman Grabs a Gun moment, he will kick her face until she's beautiful. Of course, it might just make her look the way she did when she was younger. At least then he won't be as hesitant to marry her daughter when the time is right.
  • Probably pre-jossed. We finally get the origins on his chivalry in chapter 842, and looking at the context, it's now even more unlikely he'd turn back on his values for any reason.
  • Jossed for sure now.

Sanji and Yonji fought (or will fight) over Nami
It only makes the most sense in the world that Yonji was probably drooling over Nami's bounty poster and Sanji kicked his ass for it. And if it didn't already happen, it will in the future.
  • Jossed, they do fight, but not over Nami.

Sanji's mother is a programmer
  • It was her idea to name her children starting from zero (Rei).
    • Jossed, she didn't seem to be any kind of scientist in Sanji's flashback.

Sanji will defeat a Vinsmoke with a punch
Zeff once punched Sanji rather than kick him to express how much he really wanted Sanji to go out and follow his dreams. So, with his mentor in mind, it's possible Sanji will mirror that passion by breaking one of his principles for the very special occasion of laying out one of his horrible family members. My money is on Judge or Niji at this point.
  • Bonus point if he defeated them in one-punch.
  • Jossed, they end up not fighting in the end.

Judge will blind Sanji.
The introduction of Sanji’s family, whom he has not seen since he was a young child, is definitely a precursor to some kind of horrifying Trauma Conga Line for Sanji as a character (ala Robin in Enies Lobby, but it already feels like it’s going to be a whole lot worse than that). Sanji’s father is DEFINITELY going to do something irreversible to damage him when he realizes how strong his weakest son has become, in spite of his natural handicaps as a “normal” human. There’s a reason the man’s name is Judge— he’s all about collecting with interest when it comes to punishment, especially for Sanji, who he considers to be his Greatest Failure. I get the horrifying feeling that he’s going to find another way to handicap him in order to put him back in his place— and I don’t think it’s going to be by taking away his hands.

The inevitable storyline about Sanji’s mother is going to reveal that she was killed (possibly by Judge himself) as punishment for something she did to protect her son— that’s why we’re getting this whole setup with the female chef getting beaten to hell by Niji and Reiju’s reluctance to be outwardly cruel to Sanji. I can absolutely see Sanji blaming himself for what happened to his mom (because that's what Judge will make him think), and it will cause him to come to the realization that his subconscious, over-the-top desire to protect women stems from his failure to protect his own mother.

We will also probably see a parallel with Sanji’s mother and Pudding. Given the family’s casual treatment of the subject of Arranged Marriages, it is likely that Sanji’s mother was in one with Judge before she died, which, (following the rules of parallelism Oda is so fond of) might indicate that Sanji’s arranged marriage to Pudding could end very badly for her. But since Sanji has already been established as the polar opposite of his father, I think we’ll see him protect her from Judge’s wrath (likely because she will try to help Sanji escape), and he will sustain a serious injury trying to keep what happened to his mother from happening to her.

But that’s where it gets interesting— Sanji is attracted to Pudding (as well as every other woman who he has tried to protect throughout the series), which makes the origins of his protective streak towards women a little... unsettling. It probably won’t be explicitly addressed, as this is still a children’s manga, but the subtext is already taking shape before our eyes.

And who is the primary fictional character who represents men in love with their mothers? Oedipus Rex.

And what does Oedipus do when he finds out he killed his dad and married his mom? He gouges his own eyes out. But in this case, Sanji's guilt will drive him to recklessly endanger himself on Pudding's behalf, leaving an opening for his father to attack.

Maybe it will be temporary, like Law losing his arm— we might see him fight Judge without his eyesight (either on his own or with Luffy’s help), only to have Reiju (somehow) use her powers to fix the damage after the battle.

Or maybe it will be a permanent, defining aspect of his character— it would be heartbreaking, but incredibly powerful, if Sanji had to overcome the loss of his dream to see the All-Blue and find a way to keep going for the sake of his nakama. Either way, signs like his constant vision-obscuring hairstyle, and shots like final panel of Chapter 840, where you can only see his eye in the Iron Mask, feel too heavy-handed to be anything but oldschool Oda Foreshadowing.

  • Jossed, he doesn't blind him.

Sanji's siblings' genetic modification will manifest bad side effects
When Sanji will be finally able to fight his brothers freely, their strenght and abilities will be put to a strain never experienced since the genetic enhancement as kids, causing a sudden and painful cellular degeneration. Sanji's true strenght will be revealed to be his body having rejected the artificial enhancements. The only way Judge and his scientists will have to save them, will be to be Brought Down to Normal, a lesson that would greatly humble both Judge and the boys.
  • Jossed.

Sanji will awaken Conqueror's Haki in the Totland Arc
In a twist of pretty much everybody's expectations, Sanji will unlock his Conqueror's Haki before Zoro does. He's certainly got the willpower to possess it, and it's only fitting in an arc that focuses so heavily on him that he'd unlock his ultimate potential by the end.
  • Jossed.

By the end of Totland arc...
  • Vinsmoke family would be another allies to Strawhats. This is necessary for plot sake. By the final war, the Strawhats likely needs as much allies as possible.
    • Judge will pull a heel face turn.
    • Reiju will be the true successor for the family. This is a similar to Arabasta, Fishman Island and Dressrosa, a kingdom that being allied with Strawhats, with a princess befriending the strawhats.
    • The remaining three brothers will get kicked out from the family and get a cover page story.
  • I would be truly and utterly shocked if Judge pulled a heel face turn...
    • Well this is WMG. Let's follow the pattern : Cobra, held hostage during Arabasta takeover. King Neptune, also held in chain during Fishman arc. Dressrosa, the king got framed. I'm going to throw my chance that Judge is simply defeated by someone (Sanji, Luffy, or someone else) that once he was incapacitated, the real common enemy shows up (Big Mam or some other party) that he had no choice but to work along with Strawhats. It's not so much he turned good as he simply just ended up no longer being enemy.
  • It's possible now that we know they have an Enemy Mine situation going on with the Straw Hats vs. the Charlotte Family.
  • The Vinsmokes do end up becoming allies. All of the other theories are Jossed, however (Judge helps the Straw Hats, but he doesn't exactly turn over a new leaf).

Sanji's three brothers
...are staging a coup against Judge.
  • This is based on nothing but reused plotline. Arabasta : People wanted revolution, manipulated by Crocodile. Fishman Island : Hody's gang are staging a coup. Dressrosa : Doflamingo takes over power. So far we haven't had power struggle from inside the royal family itself, and this would be a good chance for it.
    • What if Reiju was severely injured, as we see her at the end of Chapter 849, by her brothers? The chapter opens with Judge asking his sons where Reiju is, and they reply they just don't know. Are they sincere or not?
    • Actually, that was Yonji asking Niji where Reiju is.
  • Jossed.

An SBS reveals that Big Mom's oldest kid is only 50, so Pudding is probably as young as she looks.
    • All evidence now indicates that she's 16 or 17 (and Big Mom's 41st son is whichever of the two ages that she isn't).

Pudding is the one who knocked out Lola's tooth
Lots of people have cited Pudding's "fond" memory of Lola as evidence that she's not really evil. But, quite actually, I believe Pudding was similar to her Enfant Terrible sister Anana when she was a kid- and being violently insane and loyal to Big Mom, she attacked Lola shortly after she told her she was leaving in that little flashback. The end result was that she managed to knock out her tooth before likely being restrained by Lola. If there's one thing I've learned from One Piece it's that if a plot important character has a scar, it's also probably plot-important and not just random.
  • Jossed.

Capone will lie to Big Mom about Pekoms
First spoilers about chapter 813 say he's going to flee and leave the injured Pekoms behind on Zou. When reporting privately to Big Mom, he'll tell her Pekoms fell to the Strawhats (while in truth, probably Chopper tended to his wounds), also in an attempt to take his place and rise among Big Mom's ranks. Pekoms is going to be pissed when he recovers...
  • However, in chapter 824 Tamago approves of Capone's actions. It's still to see what about Big Mom.
  • Jossed, there was no need for him to since he was planning on betraying her anyway.

Pedro will get his stolen years back
Specifically, Big Mom will actually be briefly knocked unconscious when the "Tamatebako box" (or whatever it's called) from Fishman Island explodes in her face and everything she's affected with her soul powers will deactivate; all of the stolen soul fragments in the Homies and in Big Mom herself will return to their rightful owners (or just disappear if their owner is dead, like Zepo or Moscato), meaning Pedro gets his life back.
  • This has become more unlikely (but not impossible), as the box has fallen off the cliff where the wedding takes place.
  • This has now become even more unlikely (and probably impossible) because Pedro would appear to be dead. At least for now.
  • Completely Jossed. Pedro is confirmed to be dead.

Sanji will fight Niji over Nami
There's a WMG around here saying that he'll fight Yonji over Nami... but I think he'll actually end up fighting Niji instead. Even if Sanji now doesn't want to let his brothers die, Niji will more than likely- really more than likely- try to get all... touchy-feely with Nami and Sanji won't stand for it.
  • Jossed, Niji and Sanji actually end up working together vs. Big Mom.

Judge and his other sons will be too proud to allow themselves to be saved by Sanji.
When they find out the truth about Big Mom's plans, they'll still refuse help from a "dud" like Sanji, leading to a fight between some of them and the Straw Hats. Alternatively, Reiju may or may not calm some of her brothers down enough for them to make a temporary Enemy Mine situation, but I heavily doubt that'll work with Judge.
  • Jossed: When Sanji frees them from Perospero's candy, the entire Vinsmoke family immediately comes to the aid of the Straw Hat Pirates and their allies. The sons may be irredeemable jerkwads, but they will swallow their pride and work with those they disagree with to defeat an immediate threat to their lives.

Judge and Linlin will kill one another.
One will die first, and the other will die of injuries sustained in the fight.
  • I doubt it, Oda doesn't usually do deaths in the present with the exceptions of the paramount war that killed Ace and Whitebeard and the Punk Hazard event that killed Monet and Vergo.
  • Looking doubtful. Big Mom just one-shotted Judge in their first confrontation without getting a scratch.
  • Jossed.

Pudding will use her Memory powers on Big Mom
Come on, her power is like tailor-made for this kind of scenario. And by doing so, unravel the truth behind Mother Caramel for all present to see. Whatever this truth is, it will be something so shocking that it will turn the vast majority, if not all, of Big Mom's children against her in disgust, effectively turning it into a Hoist by Their Own Petard to her for having them in the first place. Also, additionaly, whatever this truth is, will also cost her her place as a Yonko as well, as if all her children abandons her, she will lose all of the crews she married them off into as well, effectively reducing her war potential down to zero. (And with Big News right there in the room, whatever happens in the cermony hall will go global, no matter what happens...news are news after all, especially scoops.) No matter what, Pudding might become the catalyst that bring down Big Mom for good once this ends.
  • Jossed for now, the arc ends with Big Mom fully aware of what happened around her.

Pudding will be blacklisted from the Charlotte Family like Lola
Pudding is going to be the next Charlotte Family outcast. Considering how much Big Mom hates Lola for messing up her plans, it's not hard to see her doing the same to Pudding now. Of course, her being a three-eye and Big Mom's key to Raftel still makes her valuable, but Big Mom's proven before that her rage can easily overshadow her reason.
  • Jossed, the Big Mom Pirates end the arc believing that Pudding and Chiffon alone baked the cake; none of them know Pudding helped the Straw Hats.

Pudding will use her memory powers on Streusen.
And from there, the truth of that day will finally come to light to Big Mom after sixty-two years of wondering about Mother Carmel's disappearance. What Big Mom does after that is up for debate though.
  • Jossed.

Jewelry Bonney is really an age-shifted Charlotte Snack on the lam
Her nickname is "Big Eater", and she has been known to change her age as a disguise. What if she is actually juggling two identities and her Charlotte Snack persona was bested by Urogue? Or perhaps she let him win?
  • Very unlikely, especially with those details. Unless she's discarded her entire family due to a feud in the past and wants nothing more to do with them, she would have participated in the tea party were she one of Big Mom's daughters.
  • Jossed. I know we shouldn't necessarily rely on anime only scenes, but we've seen a glimpse of Snack in the anime (a huge, hulking man) and I'm sure Oda wouldn't have let them show him like that if he was actually a slim woman.
    • Further jossed by the fact that Snack has since appeared in the manga, and he looks nothing like Bonney.

Pudding will join the Straw Hats (or the Grand Fleet)
She'll fall in love with Sanji, but realize that there's no way to convince Sanji to stay with her. So she'll take another option; if she can't convince Sanji to stay, she will either go with him so they can remain together, or join the Grand Fleet so they can leave on good terms but still see each other again from time to time.
  • Completely and entirely Jossed: As of chapter 850, Pudding has revealed herself to be just as sadistic as her mother, if not more than her, by harming Reiju and declaring her intentions to murder her, Sanji, the rest of the Vinsmokes, and the Straw Hats..
  • Actually, with her Heel–Face Turn (and Big Mom noticing she's helping the Straw Hats), this is once again plausible. She also indeed falls in love with Sanji, so this should go back to the Open section for now.
  • Jossed for now, the arc ends with her staying in Tottoland.

How Luffy will defeat Katakuri
It's been shown that Katakuri is Luffy's superior in Haki and fighting power. How can Luffy prevail over such a foe without it seeming to be a deus ex machina? Consider three things:

  • During Skypeia, Luffy found a way to defend against Eneru's Mantra/Observation Haki by shutting down his mind and moving on subconscious reflex.

  • After Enies Lobby, Luffy's shown that he's trained himself to be able to eat while sleeping, so as not to miss meals.

Katakuri's power is mochi. Is it too outlandish to assume that this might end up like the fight against Cracker, with Luffy eating his opponent's Devil Fruit creations to hold his ground? And doing it with his conscious turned off to keep Katakuri from anticipating it?

  • Possible, but I doubt it will be the way to defeat him. Maybe he'll pull that off to weaken him, but having him defeated this way would made him too similar to Cracker. Plus, I doubt it would count as "deus ex machina"; Luffy fought and defeated several opponents way above him in power before, like Crocodile or Lucci.

  • You have to remember that Katakuri sees the FUTURE, that's what makes him different from all other Kenbun users, as they base their "sensations" off the feelings of their opponents. Regardless if Luffy shuts off his brain, Katakuri will still foresee the future.
  • Jossed. He just beats him straight up with Good Old Fisticuffs.

How the Straw Hats will escape Big Mom's tsunami
I can only think of two ways out at that point:

A) Jimbei breaks the wave or slows it down before it can crash on the Sunny; he can manipulate water after all, and this huge tsunami would be a way for him to show his strength either way.

B) Luffy says "Fuck it" and escapes the Mirror World, abandoning his fight with Katakuri in favor of punching Big Mom; this won't faze her but it will distract her long enough for the Straw Hats to get away. This would still leave Katakuri's threat level intact, but at least the bigger threat at the moment would be removed.

  • Or C) The Sun Pirates shows up and disarms the giant wave by manipulating the sea currents needed to form it beneath the surface, effectively pulling the rug for its foundation without having to do a Mihawk on the actual wave like back in Marineford Arc.

  • Or the Straw Hats could use the Sunny's Gaon Cannon.
    • No they couldn't; the cannon runs on cola, and they're not done refueling it since they used the Coup de Burst earlier.

  • Jossed. Jimbei surfs inside the wave to escape.

Katakuri’s weak point is...
His jaw. That is where Luffy manages to land his first real hit on him, and if you look at the final panel he seems to be aiming right at the scarf. Katakuri doesn’t just where his scarf to hide his scary teeth and undignified feeding times and look cool. He also does it to hide the weak point on his body.
  • Jossed, he doesn't seem to have any particular weakness in his jaw. In fact, Luffy ultimately defeats him with a body blow.

Luffy will eventually replace Big Mom as one of the Four Emperors.
Taking all of her territories as his own, asking the Sun Pirates to protect Fishman Island in his name, while Reiju will be named regent of Totto Land. Zou will also become his protectorate.
  • Jossed, Luffy becomes an Emperor alongside Big Mom rather than replace her. Whether or not she will eventually be dethroned is still up in the air though.

Kid lost his arm to Big Mom
Specifically, he was captured by her when he tried to invade her territory and in order to leave he had to pay his price via her punishment wheel- and his arm was the cost of being allowed to exit.
  • Still possible that she took the arm, but the spinning wheel route is Jossed; if you spin it at all, it's actually rigged to be fatal.
  • Jossed. Funnily enough, there's a rumor in universe as well that he lost it to Big Mom; however, in reality, he lost it to Shanks sometime before his run-in with Big Mom.

Kaido's zoan devil fruit allows to take the form of....
THE CTHULHU!!!!!!!
  • Jossed, it's an Eastern Dragon.

Kaido is a Sea King with a Mythical Zoan Fruit - Behemoth Devil Fruit
Sea Kings are shown to be surprisingly intelligent, but one of the most deadly beasts in the world. Like Chopper, Kaido's Fruit let's him take on a land based form, perhaps boosting his intelligence, perhaps he was already intelligent. Kaido is the 'World's Strongest Creature', what could be more fitting than one of the deadliest of all sea monsters combined with the deadliest land creature?
  • The Sea King part is Jossed; Kaido is human.
    • Both are Jossed now as his Zoan Fruit is that of an Eastern Dragon.

  • Jossed.

Sanji's mom had orange hair
  • Jossed, she had the same shade of blonde hair as Sanji.

Katakuri's father is Gol D. Roger
His scarf hides a big smile.
  • EXTREMELY unlikely. There is no way such a thing could have remained a secret, and the World Government would have hunted down the Big Mom Pirates if an offspring of the King of Pirates was among them. Considering how they acted when they suspected the conception of Ace, they probably made absolutely certain they knew if Roger had any other children running free.
    • Jossed, the scarf hides a mouth full of fangs, something neither Roger nor Big Mom have.

Sanji's cake will cure Big Mom's "Eating Disorder".
It will taste so good that all of her cravings would vanish in the aftermath and perhaps even make her do a Heel–Face Turn as a person, turning her into Linlin once again before Streusen corrupted her. As a result, she would call off the hunt on the Strawhats and everyone get to share the table and the cake in the victory feast afterwards.

Linlin finally might understand what it means to "see each other face to face" after all...

  • Jossed.

Chopper will get his first serious bounty after the Whole Cake Island Arc.
It will coincide with Carrot getting her first bounty. The World Government will compare his feats to those of Carrot, and they will finally come to the realization that he is not merely a Team Pet.
  • Jossed; his bounty remained unchanged, and Carrot didn't get a bounty. Only Luffy's and Sanji's were raised.

We are due for an extended flashback to Bege.
This will be a short-lived WMG, as it will either be confirmed or Jossed a few chapters from when I type this, but once Bege is able to get the cake to Liqueur Island and Big Mom starts eating it, the series will then begin a flashback for Bege, as his part in the Totto Land story will be mostly complete and we probably won't be seeing much of Bege for a long time once the Straw Hat and Firetank Pirates part ways.
  • Jossed.

Big Mom.

  • Jossed. It's likely he would have tried to take one of their powers if the opportunity came around, but it would seem his target was mostly just the Flame Flame fruit.

Kaido has the Tardi-Tardi-No-Mi
Thus making him a Tardigrade Man!
  • Jossed. While his devil fruit hasn't been named as of chapter 957 his power is a mythical zoan, dragon type.

Kaido ate the mythical zoan fruit Nemean Lion.
It would explain how weapons just break against his skin since the nemean lion is immune to all mortal weapons.
  • More specifically, the Nemean lion cannot be killed with normal weaponry but can be harmed by it. Hercules injured it with a regular club. This seems to apply to Kaido too, as it is shown that he has been defeated in battle at least seven times, but nothing is able to end his life. (And presumably, if he can be defeated in battle, that means he can be harmed.)
  • Jossed. He did eat a mythical zoan fruit, but it was a dragon type, not a lion type.

Luffy will become a Shichibukai
Either that or the World Government would at least try to offer Luffy some status as a Shichibukai. This seems to be a logical way to stop him from causing them trouble, so it would be reasonable if they decided to pacify or placate Luffy rather than continuously attack him. Also, Luffy might gain some new epithet as the 'Shichibukai Hunter' or something like that.
  • Pre-Jossed? Pre-ultra mega Jossed? Luffy's whole reason to become pirate king is to be the freest man on the sea. There's exactly a zero percent chance he'd agree to be under the authority of and be obligated to do things for the World Government. And to serve the people that tried to kill Robin? And who had supposedly killed Sabo 12 years ago? And killed Ace? That's unpossible. BUT, even though it's also unlikely they'll offer it to him either at this point, that actually is still possible.
    • Now fully Jossed as the Shichibukai system has been abolished.

Kaido cannot be a Devil Fruit user
We know from his appearance that he is a Death Seeker. Thus, if he were a DF user and Death-Seeker, he simply would've drowned himself a long time ago. In fact, even if he weren't a Devil Fruit user, he would have tried to drown himself anyway (if he's serious about the whole 'suicide' thing), but perhaps he's some sort of Fishman-Giant/Minkman hybrid and can breathe underwater like Batman does in Space. He probably also has some Charles Atlas Superpowers too, leading people to mistake him for a DF user.
  • Jossed: He's a mythical zoan type Devil Fruit user.

Kaido is coming to retrieve Doflamingo personally.
Think about it. Kaido's not an idiot - he HAD to have known that Jack and his men were no match for the forces guarding Doflamingo as he was transported to Impel Down. He also had to have been fully aware that Jack was extremely impulsive and reckless and would likely attack the fleet no matter how many heavy hitters were in the opposition. There's no way that this wasn't deliberate. Kaido knew full well that Jack had absolutely no chance at winning that fight, but he sent him anyways to get an idea of what kind of opposition he would be facing. The most logical conclusion is that Kaido never intended for Jack to be the one to retrieve Doflamingo - he was just the recon and Kaido is going to do it himself.
  • Jossed. He's not doing anything about Doflamingo. All he has to say about him is that it's a shame he's so "weak"

Wanda will join the Straw Hats
After the whole mess with Kaido is resolved, Inuarashi and Nekomamushi may offer to help the Straw Hats and Heart Pirates in any way they can if they ever need it. Since Bepo is already a Heart Pirate, they may ask Wanda to join Luffy's crew so that they have a way of reaching Zou any time they need to, it being a phantom island and all.
  • Jossed.

  • Jossed, there was no need for him to.

The Zou Arc will last about 28 chapters
  • Jossed, it lasted only 21 chapters.

Kizaru or Ryokugyu is heading to Dressrosa
The flashes of light were shown to be near the birdcage, which surprised admiral Fujitora.
  • Jossed; it's actually Sengoku and Tsuru.

Reiju's poison sucking ability will be a Chekhov's Skill.
Capone Bege's assassination plan involves Caesar Clown shooting Big Mom with poison. That kind of scene demands Reiju to get involved, if you ask me.
  • Jossed. The poison rockets were destroyed by Big Mom's (Haki?) scream before they could hit her.

Big Mom's hair was originally white
It later turned pink after drinking the blood of her enemies.
  • Why?
  • I read shomewhere flamingoes feathers turn pink after eating shrimp
  • Jossed.

Big Mom will destroy the entire city
Specifically, her crew is going to have to leave her alone while they work to recreate the wedding cake so they can stop her craving illness. In the meantime, they have no choice but to let her rampage around freely until they get back. By the time they can actually feed her the cake and calm her down, she'll have destroyed all of Sweet City.
  • Jossed.

Pudding will use her memory powers to restore Big Mama's lost memories
And the horror of them will at least disable her temporarily. Not permanently, though. She doesn't seem the type to ultimately care she ate her friends.
  • Jossed; Pudding did no such thing in the Whole Cake Island arc, and doesn't seem to be involved with Big Mom's business in the Wano Country arc.

Kurozumi Orochi (Wano's current Shogun) is married to Momonosuke's sister (Hiyori)
I'm just calling it now, due to the recent revelation that Momo had a (younger?) sister 20 years ago that she survived the fire and Orochi either married her or keeps her captive to legitimize his rule over Wano.
  • Jossed; plot twists notwithstanding, Hiyori is all but directly stated to be Komurasaki, Wano's most beautiful oiran, and a woman Orochi is anything but married to.

X Drake joined Kaido
X Drake attacked the island in order to gain the attention of Kaido so he could become on of his allies and gain access to his vast resources but unknown to Kaido he is really working with Law and feeding info back to him as a double agent.
  • Joining Kaido is confirmed, but no evidence yet of being a double agent.
  • You got the allying with Kaido part right, and the fact that he's a double agent right, but he's working for the Marines as part of SWORD, not with Law. Jossed.

Drake's reason for joining Kaido
He hates the World Government and the Marines and left them because of how corrupt they were, and wants to see both groups overthrown. He joined Kaido because he felt Kaido was his best shot at bringing them down.
  • Jossed: He's still a Marine and is secretly a member of the special unit SWORD.

Kaido will not be fought in the Wano arc.
The Straw Hats will prepare to fight him, sure, but I find it hard to believe the Straw Hats and allies, strong though they may be, can survive a full-on assault on the strongest creature in the world without powering up and/or weakening his army at least one last time. Plus, Zoro wandering off again is bound to stir some shit up; it's much more likely IMO that Orochi will be the villain in Wano, and Kaido will be fought later. Plus, it'll give the series time to focus fully on the Reverie in the interim between Wano and Onigashima, or whatever other island will be next.
  • Possibly Jossed as of Ch.922, with Luffy sucker-punching him.
    • 923 fully Josses this theory as Kaido is fought but not for the final time as he easily beats and captures Luffy.

When we finally see Oden, he will look exactly like a familiar character
Oda has taken great pains to not show us Oden's face, even in shots where he is the focus and actually speaking. The only conceivable reason is that his face will be a big Wham Shot, and the most likely way for that to happen is to have him look exactly like a character we know.
  • Jossed. He has a distinct appearance.

The traitor is a Red Herring
In the most recently chapter 970, Kaido himself deliberately teases about the existence of a spy in Oden's group... Something that we see Inuarashi wonders about in earlier chapters... But in a world where people versed enough in the color of observation can see even seconds in the future... Orochi being able to see a day or even more and adapt acordingly shouldn't be discarded...
  • And to sow the seeds of doubt between your enemy lines is 101 in the Art of War... Did wonders in Spy X Family
  • Other impressive uses of the Color of Observation are the voice of all things and God Enel controlling an entire sky island...
  • Basil Hawkins seems more the type to mess with probabilities but Madam Shirley can see years into the future...
  • Jossed. Kanjuro has been confirmed as the traitor, as of chapter 974.

Black Maria is Yamato's mother
Black Maria is about Kaido's size and she has horns similar to Yamato's.
  • Jossed. Her hair is blonde and her age is confirmed to be 29, so she's too young to be Yamato's mother.

Kaido is not a human who ate a dragon-based Mythical Zoan fruit.
In fact, he's not human at all. Instead, he's a dragon who ate the Hito Hito no Mi, Model: Oni. That's why he's known as the strongest creature in the world rather than the strongest man.
  • Nope. Jossed. Whatever Kaido's species is, he's definitely not a dragon as the chapter 999 confirmed that he ate the Mythical Zoan model of the Fish-Fish Fruit.
    • Furthermore, SBS Volume 98 states that the model Kaido ate is a "Azure Dragon" model.

Monkey D. Dragon is Rocks D. Xebec
Jewelry Bonney probably helped Roger and Garp by turning Xebec into a child, prompting Garp to raise him alongside his daughter. The 2 kids would eventually fall in love and have Luffy.
  • Jossed. Dragon was 17 to 19 when the Rocks Pirate formed to their disbandment after the God Valley Incident since he is confirmed to be currently 57.

The raid itself and the Wano Arc by extension will end in a Pyrrhic Victory
The Ninja-Pirate-Mink-Samurai Alliance might be able to beat and defeat Kaido, but the Flower Capitial will be destroyed by Onigashima's fall
  • Jossed: Onigashima landed safely near the Flower Capital rather than destroying it.

Vegapunk is a Tontatta
The surprisingly young-looking girl calling herself Vegapunk is a robotic body that he/she pilots. Given that the "woman's" bodysuit is numbered "Punk 02", possibly one of many such bodies that Vegapunk can choose from.

Sanji and Pudding will get married.
Why?Because the theme Big Mom has set has been specifically established as "wedding cake". And one of Big Mom's quirks is sadly Exact Words so if there is no wedding, then it is just a cake...and that won't cut it for her.So in order to make the cake a real "wedding cake", Sanji and Pudding has to get married first before Big Mom can accept it as a "wedding cake". (Or at least Sani and Pudding has to get through the ceremony of a wedding, considering what was originally planned with the last cake involved...)So even if Pudding and Chiffon makes the cake, it's no wedding cake unless Pudding gets married first. And since she has her eyes set for Sanji...
  • For sure. In the same way that Usopp has Kaya waiting for him back home for after the series ends, Sanji now has Pudding.
  • Jossed: Big Mom loves the cake, regardless of its wedding-less quality.

Blackbeard is the reason Whole Cake Island toppled
Blackbeard and at least some of his crew are waiting in the woodworks like they did two years ago, letting the chaos of Big Mom and Luffy's conflict play out and waiting for Big Mom and her forces to be significantly weakened before he makes his move at killing her and stealing her Devil Fruit power. He used his Tremor-Tremor Fruit powers to topple Whole Cake Island, which nearly dealt a huge blow to Big Mom and her crew, and his agents are the reason why the sea slug transmitters are on the fritz.
  • Essentially Jossed, now that Big Mom has moved to Wano without encountering Blackbeard once, and joined up with Kaido.

Katakuri's Glasgow Grin hides the painful origin of his personality and world view.
Given that we know his mouth was born born that way and thus its deformation not related to the scars, his old wounds could have chilling implications to his mysterious past: the first possibility is that he received those during his long life of piracy, but given his invincible reputation this had to happen quite a long time ago (before he was famous so that not many people know about them and thus tarnish his perfect image); the second possibility is quite darker, he inflict this on himself trying to correct his deformity either by his own hands or through surgery which would imply that he killed the surgeon for failing to fix his condition or just for knowing his real face beneath the scarf; the third possibility, and by far the darkest, is that the scars was inflicted by Big Mom herself... Big Mom is a selfish tyrant of the worst caliber, she proved time and again that she is willing to bend the world around her to fit her own vision regardless of who she harms. It is not impossible that she sees Katakuri's deformity as a blemish of her world and would seek to correct it with force if necessary just like she did to those fishman and long arm/leg tribe from her orphanage, and unlike Pudding's third eye (which has special abilities when awaken) his jaw of fangs have no seeming advantage to her rule, and therefore had nothing to discourage her from correcting this "mistake" with her own two hands. Imagine this: a dying Katakuri bleeding profusely from his broken jaw look up only to see his mother's demonic image though his teary eyes, this would break any man into the insecure stoic who is afraid to show a single speck of imperfection in fear of losing what little love she has left for him. Maybe the one who is Slave to PR is not Katakuri himself, but the insane Yonko above him after all, hell she maybe the one who mandated him to always wear that scarf in front of other people just like when she told Pudding to hide her third eye beneath her bang so she would look "normal".
  • Jossed. Big Mom had nothing to do with him wearing that scarf. The real story is pretty sad, though: When Katakuri was a kid, he as bullied for his mouth and his habits, but he didn't care because he could beat them up whenever he wanted. But when the bullies sunk to Revenge by Proxy by scarring his sister Brulee, Katakuri covered up his mouth and worked to present the perfect general image so he could protect his family from people seeking to hurt him.

The reason why Hawkins is a Headliner for Kaido
One of Hawkins's abilities is to make strawmen, which allow someone else to take damage in place of Hawkins. What better subject for that than the unkillable Kaido, which, if Hawkins could get a strawman of Kaido, would render Hawkins unkillable too? This is why Hawkins has joined up with Kaido as a Headliner: He's trying to get close enough to Kaido to generate a strawman of him.
  • Jossed by Hawkins own account: Kaido presented the defeated supernovas with a Join or Die ultimatum and Hawkins, as ever, played to the odds: 40% chance of survival by joining over 0% chance by resisting.

At the end of Wano arc, Chopper will find a cure for the dud SMILE side-effects
The commoners who ate the "leftover" dud SMILEs have lost all other emotions. The Strawhats who heard the story were enraged, but due to other more pressing matters to deal with, they haven't done anything about it yet. At the end of the Wano arc, Chopper will find a cure which will reverse the side-effects. They will still be left with the standard "cannot swim" part of the Devil's Fruits weakness though.
  • Jossed - the Wano arc has ended without Chopper (or Law or anyone) curing the SMILEs.

The Big Mom — Kaido Alliance will be sealed by a marriage — but who's the lucky bride?
There will definitely be a marriage because that's just Big Mom's modus operandi. Chapter 979 also teased Kaido's son and a big announcement regarding him so an Arranged Marriage to seal the alliance is virtually guaranteed. As for the bride, the two most likely candidates are Compote, the First daughter or Smoothie, a Sweet General.
  • Jossed, there was no attempt to marry anyone.

The Straw Hat Grand Fleet will appear in Wano
  • Chapter 1014's events show that the fleet have the perfect opportunity to appear in the arc now. Luffy has not only been defeated by Kaido, but he was hurled into the sea. And since Luffy's a Devil Fruit user, that doesn't bode well for him. No doubt that the parts of his Vivre Card will begin to warn the fleet of his predicament, so now's the perfect chance to aid Luffy in his hour of need.
  • Jossed: Law's crew manages to recover Luffy underwater.

CP0 is a Red Herring, and the Arc Villain of Egghead will be Lilith
CP0 seems to be escalating the arc's tension way too fast, with them having an all-out attack already despite being seemingly outclassed by the straw hats. But what has been a consistent threat to the straw hats throughout the arc? Vegapunk's technology. The magnetic boots rendered them helpless, the Jimbei seraphim was a big challenge despite being still developing, and we haven't even begun to see what sort of weapons Vegapunk has made, and who better to use this tech against the crew than the side of Vegapunk explicitly stated to be his Evil?

  • Semi-Jossed There is an Enemy Without among the Vegapunks, but it's not Lilith, it's York.

Zoro will fight and defeat Jack
Luffy says he's going with Pekoms to pick up Sanji. As the only one of the monster trio available... The duty of defeating the enemy boss falls to Zoro.
  • As of the end of chapter 819, however, Jack is coming back to Zou while Luffy is discussing his plans with friends and allies. Unless his fleet just stays around undetected for the time being, striking only after Luffy and Pekoms leave, he may be the true "test of strenght" for the Strawhats before going against the Yonkou for real.
  • And as of the end of chapter 821, after getting crushed under Zunisha's massive trunk, it doesn't really look like Jack's going to be fighting anybody ever again. There's still a chance, you know, if he turns up alive and then happens to fight Zoro later on; but, he almost certainly won't be fighting him in this arc.
    • Jack's alive as of the Wano arc, but he has not faced Zoro.
    • Jossed; Zoro fought and defeated King while Inuarashi fought and defeated Jack.

Zoro will use Asura on Jack
Zoro hasn't been seen using Asura since before the timeskip, probably because he has yet to fight anybody on his level in the New World. If a one billion berry bounty man doesn't force Zoro to finally bring out the big guns, I don't know who will.
  • Looks like as of 821, Jack got crushed by Zunisha.
    • Jossed; Zoro used Asura on Kaido.

Sanji's father will be the next major adversary Luffy fights.
The Vinsmoke Family is shaping up to be a big deal, and it sounds like Sanji is depicted as a weakling among them. If this is true, then the Vinsmoke patriarch may actually be closer to around Luffy's level of strength, if not greater.
  • Sounds very likely right now. Sanji's father is powerful as hell, and he's shaping up to be a major threat. Whether he will be the next major bad guy Luffy fights or if Sanji will take care of his pops, however, is still up in the air.
  • Partially confirmed. Judge Vinsmoke is *a* major antagonist of the Totoland arc but the main adversary is Big Mom.
    • Overall Jossed - The Straw Hats never directly fight Germa 66 at any point.

Hina is related to Jewelry Bonney
My only real basis for this is that they have pink hair... however, since Akainu was not only unusually calm when talking to Bonney but also talking as if he was very familiar with her, it seems she has some sort of connection to the Marines.
  • Possible, but it begs the question as to why Akainu, who's pretty explicitly a murderous psychopath, would spare a relatively low-ranking subordinate's family member, when Sengoku, who is comparatively more merciful and reasonable, had no qualms about executing the grandchild of one of his closest friends and colleagues. I'm thinking that she's either a World Noble or possibly even Akainu's very own daughter. Maybe he's the father of both Hina and Bonney?
  • Jossed: Bonny's marine connection is her father, former Warlord of the Sea Bartholomeo Kuma

Either Carrot or Pedro will permanently join the Straw Hats.
It's about time the main crew got expanded, and a powerful Mink like one of these two would be perfect. As for whichever of them could join, it's far too early to tell, though they both have chances for now; so far Pedro seems more powerful, knowledgeable and serious, but Carrot is a lot more energetic and funny, and a third girl in the crew wouldn't hurt.
  • Since Pedro is officially dead, Carrot seems like a candidate.
    • Jossed; Carrot returned to Zou to be the new leader of the Minks instead.

Carrot will be the next Strawhat.
Reason 1: To make the Straw Hats even more of a Ragtag Bunch of Misfits than they already are. Reason 2: The name Carrot itself is basically a gender-swapped version of the name Kakarot. A.K.A. Son Goku
  • Reason 3: she would be not only a third girl in the crew, but also with a completely different personality than either Nami and Robin.
  • More In-Depth: Carrot has been traveling with the Straw Hats for several arcs now, which is pretty unusual for a character who doesn't have a major plot reason for being there (Vivi, Kin'emon and Momonosuke and others who've traveled with Luffy have always had reasons for doing so that drive the main story). She's also strong, but aside from her combat abilities, she's shown to have incredible eyesight and the ability to reach high places quickly, which would qualify her to fulfill one of the few traditional crew roles still not claimed: The lookout. Lastly, we witness her having her inherited will moment that drives so many of the Straw Hats with Pedro's death in Totto Land. In general, Carrot has had an unusual amount of focus for somebody whose presence hasn't driven any particular arc, so it wouldn't be surprising if she winds up a permanent addition to the crew.
  • Jossed; Carrot returned to Zou to be the new leader of the Minks instead.

Luffy is, in fact, related to Ace by blood.
  • However, it's through his mother instead of his father.
  • Wouldn't be surprised if all the the D are related.
    • Jossed: Ace's mother died giving birth to him and Luffy is younger than Ace, so...

Either new Warlord or "green" admiral will be someone we already know
For meta-story reason: a mask is put to hide a known face. For Warlord I suppose it's Kuro. He is smart, he has motives to be a Warlord (with his previous plan of retirement failed that badly) and he has a chance, by finding good fruit. For admiral, it has to be someone with no previous ties to Navy (and not a known pirate)... Nothing good comes to mind, though.
  • I'm going to bet the new warlord is Lucci. If the warlord is a new person, then Oda wouldn't purposefully hide him from us, he'd use the chance to at least reveal the name or something. My reason as follows :
    • Lucci is strong and had an animal theme.
    • After the MF war, WG would need any help they can get.
    • Enies Lobby's destruction is Spandam's fault, not CP9.
    • It is difficult to imagine CP9 as pirates, they were trained since childhood (if Lucci's story is any indication) to be the government's agent. Therefore, if they had no choice but to become pirates, they might as well become shichibukai.
  • The warlord part of this WMG is Jossed. He's a new character.
    • Green Bull is Jossed as well, for the same reason.

Moria will help Luffy take down Kaido
He has a definite beef with Kaido, and would probably bear teaming up with Luffy to get revenge. He then uses his powers to take all of the Straw Hats' Shadows and then puts them in Luffy.Obviously, due to the power of the crew's shadows, he'll go Nightmare Luffy, but with Sanji's kicking skills, Brook's badass fencing, etc.
  • Jossed. Moria wasn't even present during the Wano arc, he was busy trying to mess with Blackbeard and failing.

Kaido will be interested in Chopper
To date, no other Zoan Devil Fruit user has shown the ability to wield multiple forms the way Chopper does. The closest we've seen is Lucci via Life Return with his bulky and skinny leopard forms. Kaido, with his obvious preference for Zoans, would take an immediate interest in Chopper if he sees the little reindeer in action. The end result would be Kaido trying to learn Chopper's secret and/or obtain Rumble Balls for himself. Doing so will, for us, finally answer the question of whether the Rumble Balls' effects are exclusive to Chopper or if they're usable by other Zoans (either with or without nasty side effects).
  • Or maybe the principle behind rumble balls is not limited to zoans, seeing how recent spoiler states something about "awakening" for paramecia.
  • Jossed. It's unclear if Kaido was even aware of the Rumble Balls, and wasn't interested in Chopper at all beyond that he was a member of an enemy crew.

Trafalgar D.Water Law will develop X-ray vision
When Luffy defeats Doflamingo, Law will look over Doffy's body and notice he's seeing the warlords skeleton, he realizes that he is beginning to awake his devil fruit powers. He grabs his gamma knife and cuts off all the strings that are sewed to the tyrants organs, ending him for goodThen Kaido appears.
  • The original premise is Jossed, still possible in the future though.
    • Jossed. Law's Awakening allows him to center ROO Ms on other people and objects as opposed to only himself.

Kaido has the strongest of all Zoan Fruit and Big Mom has the strongest Logia.
Whitebeard had the most powerful Fruit in his class.
    • But partially confirmed, as Kaido seems to have eaten an Eastern Dragon devil fruit.
    • Jossed as of Kaido as well, since Luffy's Zoan is clearly stronger.

Luffy will lose a limb fighting Kaido
...while in Gear Fourth to boot. Because what would be more shocking than that?
  • Hey, this is a bit more plausible now that we've seen Charlotte Cracker slice about halfway through Luffy's arm while he was in Gear Fourth. If that's what just an Emperor's Commander can do...

Strawhats and the Ninja-Mink-Samurai Alliance vs Kaido's army predictions.
Before the Strawhats,Minks, The Samurai trio, Raizou, Wano's Rebel Army , and the Heart Pirates can clash horns against Kaido of a Hundred Beasts, they first must square off against the Yonkou's division commanders as well has his five-hundred Artificial Zoan Army. And each Strawhat(and certain characters) will be paired minks/zoan user that represent their animal theme (or at least close to it).

Luffy and Blackback vs Sun Wukong Zoan.

Zoro, and Tiger Mink vs Sabretooth or Triceratops Zoan

Sanji and Goat Mink vs Thunderbird Zoan.

Franky and Roddy vs Rhino Zoan.

Brook and Zebra Mink vs Alicorn or Draugr Zoan.

Chopper and Tristan vs Tanuki or..CHUTHULU Zoan!!!!!!!!

Robin and Crane Zoan vs Peacock or Butterfly Zoan.

Nami and Nekomamushi vs Bakenneko or Black cat Zoan.

Usopp and Armadillo Mink vs Chameleon Zoan.

Law and Snow Leopard Mink vs Shinigami Zoan.

Mink Tribe vs The 500 Zoan Army.

Bepo and Pekoms vs Panda Zoan

Kinemon and Vixen Mink vs Kitsune Zoan.

Kanjuro vs Garuda Zoan.

Momonosuke and Monji, Inuarashi, and Pheasant Zoan vs Oni Zoan.

Wanda and Carrot vs Hellhound Zoan.

Raizou vs Captain Jack

Gecko Moriah vs Camazotz zoan

  • All Jossed, though Jinbei fights a Sabretooth and Franky fights a Triceratops.

All the members of the former CP9 will be captured and executed. Except for Rob Lucci.
Much to Spandam's glee, in the process, enabling him to rise up in the ranks.
  • But what's the point bringing CP9 back into the story only to kill them?
  • Rob Lucci did survive and now he's in charge of CP-0 . . .
  • Also when Lucci made his appearance post-timeskip he was talking to someone via Den Den Mushi who has a similar speech patterns to Kaku.
  • Jossed; all the former members of CP9 are confirmed to be alive and working for CP0.

Kin'emon will actually become Momonosuke's adoptive father by the end of the Wano arc.
After all, they played the part of father and son for a while, they're similar despite not being blood related, and Momo needs someone to raise him, doesn't he? Kin'emon seems like the perfect guy to fill that role.
  • Jossed - Shinobu uses her Rapid Aging power to grow Momonosuke into an adult allowing him to rule Wano in his own right.

Some things that may transpire during Sanji's wedding...
  • 1. Big Mom may, in order to solidify her pact with Vinsmokes, have chosen her other children to 'woo' the rest of the siblings (notice in Chapter 838 how much she enquires about the boys arrival from Broc Coli), knowing how perverted Vinsmokes are. She will do this, as she probably realised that Sanji is the 'expendable' one to Judge, so she wants to frame him even more into the pact.
  • 2. There will be a problem with matching either Ichiji or Niji with Big Mom's daughters as one of them...is either Straight Gay or bisexual.
  • 3. If a fight ensues during the wedding, Judge will realise the extend of Big Mom's power and will become so love-struck with her (being a Combat Pragmatist and all) that he'll propose to her in the middle of the fight, which in turn will 'turn on' Big Mom so much that she will agree and marry him immediately (one can wonder what made her marry her previous husbands, so that may not be a stretch..). That will solve everything and Sanji won't have to marry Pudding anymore!
  • 4. Okamas will arrive with Ivankov and he'll mess up people's genders! (For lulz and drama)
    • None of the above are happening: The wedding is a farce. Big Mom actually plans on murdering all the Vinsmokes to gain access to their technology.

Sanji will defeat all three of his brothers- possibly at the same time
After being jumped by them and unable to defend himself due to their hold on Zeff, I'm convinced that Sanji is going to wreck all three of them as soon as Germa 66 can't get to Zeff. In fact, he might beat all of them at once. Yonji will be easy, we already know that. Niji might be more of a challenge and I think Ichiji definitely will, but he can take them. Oh, and beating 3 people at the same time just adds to his 3 motif.
  • Jossed - they form an alliance out of necessity to escape Whole Cake Island.

Sanji's genes will never awaken.
Quite a few theories floating around seem to believe Sanji has dormant genes waiting to be awakened, unleashing massive hidden potential that was in him since childhood. While they are good theories, it's just as likely that Sanji's genes will actually never awaken, and that he'll reach the strength he needs to defeat his brothers and father (If he hasn't attained it already) by his own accord, as the ultimate kick in the nads regarding the Vinsmokes' beliefs.
  • Very likely since his mom took a drug that apparently negated the effects on him permanently.
    • Jossed; they did awaken in Wano. Not completely though, since he still retains his emotions.

Big Mom will escape and be the Big Bad for another arc
So the Strawhats just come off defeating the last Warlord they've officially met and right away are facing an emperor? One of the four strongest pirates in world? Uh uh! No way! There has got to be a wrinkle here somewhere. Sure Luffy's level grinded, but enough to face a woman who can literally take years off his life? I find that extremely preposterous, not to mention that he's already had his bounty raised, defeating a yonko would definitely raise his bounty and it's never been raised so quickly before.
  • There is one problem with your WMG, by your reasons why would Big Mom run from a weaker opponent like Luffy as he is now? I think you meant to say Luffy and his friends will run from Big Mom at least for the time being, and will only fight her again after they level grind some more.
    • Sorry I meant, while not getting a chance to actually face her, they will absolutely destroy whole cake island, and defeat a bunch of her homies, crew and family forcing her to retreat before he can lay a hand on her.
    • With the way things are going I think it's more likely the Straw Hats will escape her with the poneglyph transcribed and face her another day.
    • Confirmed. She's appeared in the Wano arc and allied with Kaido.

Killer has 3 eyes
  • The helmet conceals he is a member of the 3 eyed tribe who seem to have gone extinct since Brooks time (their not on Sabaody's slave race price list), due to their awakened 3rd eye being able to read poneoglyphs. This would make him a last survivor of his race, along with Charlote Pudding, who's father had 3 eyes.
    • Not only is that insanely unlikely right now, it's also based on pure, baseless speculation. There's nothing that indicates the tribe is extinct, let alone since Brook's time. Not to mention the only argument here is basically that Killer's face is covered, which is weak as hell on its own; might as well claim Judge is a member of the three-eyed tribe too, since he never showed his forehead once.
    • Jossed; Killer’s face is revealed to have only 2 eyes in Wano.

Assuming Kaido is defeated in this arc, he will be brought down by a team effort a la Oars.
The narration stated that "If it's one-on-one, Kaido will win." is a popular saying, but what about a more-than-ten-on-one situation? Since Kaido is too damn powerful to be taken solo, the Straw Hats will need to combine their forces with their allies to slowly chip away at his health, until a final team attack causes him to fall. Not only would it make his defeat potentially doable, it'd also be awesome.
  • Jossed, Kaido's defeated by Luffy and his newly Awakened powers. (Though he had taken damage from several successive fights with other members of the alliance).

The Straw Hat Grand Fleet will be called upon to take on Kaido's forces.
Related to a WMG above, this could be the case. Even if they haven't become powerful enough to take on the stronger members, the Grand Fleet could nonetheless handle the "weaker" members, thus leaving the main crew and allies more strength and time to focus on the stronger commanders and Kaido himself. Plus, it'll have the added benefit of bringing info and/or more stuff from the Reverie thanks to Sai and Leo being in Mary Geoise.
  • Jossed.

Yamato will be a Foil to Kikunojo
As in, being a transgender foil to each other with Kikunojo being Male-to-Female transgender and Yamato being Female-to-Male transgender
  • Jossed - while on a meta level they're distaff counterparts, they're just cordial with each other and don't comment on each other's gender identities

Orochi isn't dead
Orochi did have his head cut off but I doubt that will be enough to kill him. This primarily because he has the mythical zoan of the Yamata no Orochi, a multi-headed snake and basically for all mythical creatures like that to kill them requires at least cutting all its heads. He was in human form but since mythical zoans have special powers in addition to transforming I'll bet a form of resurrection is one of them. He has eight heads so I think he has to be killed eight times.
Confirmed — he shows up alive in chapter 1008, He's since lost several more heads at once, but hasn't been officially confirmed as dead.

Yamato will drop the "I'm Oden" shtick after the Wano arc is over.
She will be defeated by Kaido and end up at death's door, then a flashback will come explaining her backstory in full. A combination of this and a pep talk from someone (Maybe Momo and/or someone else) will end up making her acknowledge herself as her own woman, rather than be someone she's not, and she'll get a Heroic Second Wind.

Of course the details might be different, but the idea is there; it wouldn't make sense for her to keep pretending to be Oden even after the arc ends.

  • Jossed. He continues to identify as Oden.

Yamato ate a Mythical Zoan.
He will reveal that he ate the Ox-Ox Fruit (Ushi Ushi no Mi) Model: Kirin.
  • Half-confirmed: while Yamato did eat a Mythical Zoan, his fruit is the Dog-Dog Fruit, Model: Okuchi-no-Makami.

Luffy won't accept Yamato into the crew...
...until she gives up being Oden. He'll justify it however he wants, then say he wants Yamato to join, not "Kozuki Oden". This will cause Yamato to give up on her Oden persona and be accepted into the crew as herself.
