This is an OPEN page for Wild Mass Guesses for the series One Piece which have been confirmed by the series or by Word of God. This page includes theories that were Confirmed during the Zou Arc and Onwards. If a WMG on one of the pages is confirmed, please move it here. If only part of a theory is Confirmed, please highlight the part of it that was correct in bold.
Please add new entries to the bottom of the page.
- Jossed. It's not known what's happened to him yet, but it is explicitly said by Luffy that he hasn't been captured.
- Or not! Now that we know what his note said, it's clear Luffy (who hadn't heard the whole story at that point) only thought he hadn't been captured due to how Sanji worded his letter. He wasn't beaten or anything, but it turns out he is a mostly unwilling captive in Capone Bege's "castle". Confirmed.
- I thought it's only Shichibukai who have their bounties taken away, not Emperors?
- Theoretically (assuming Emperors had bounties on their heads to begin with), Emperors might have it taken away for two reasons: 1) a sort of Vetinari Job Security in light of the potential disruption caused by the capture/death of an Emperor (because the Five Elder Stars are probably pragmatic enough to realize that the Four Emperors effectively control the seas, and any disruption to that control would eventually cause trouble for the World Government), or 2) because going after someone powerful enough to become an Emperor is going to an awful lot of trouble to get oneself killed, and keeping the bounty open would amount to tacit endorsement of said reckless endangerment.
- The Emperors are only really strong pirates. It's not a government rank or something like the Seven Warlords, it's just a title to recognize the four strongest pirates of the New World. Why would the Whitebeard Pirates be wanted criminals if they were in an alliance with the Government like the Warlords? Hell, why would anybody ever bother to turn them in in the first place if they don't actually have country rewards? (On that note, Ace had a higher bounty than Chinjao)
- Chinjao says over 500,000,000 so his might actually be higher.
- Confirmed. Kaido's right hand man Jack has a 1,000,000,000 Beri bounty. Odds are the Emperors are even higher. As well as Dragon; being the "World's Most Wanted Man" surely means he has the highest bounty.
- In addition, more pirates have been revealed with a bounty of 10 digits or higher, such as Katakuri and Luffy.
- Also in addition, latest chapters have shown that Emperors do have active bounties: with all Emperor bounties being above 4 Billion beri, except Blackbeard, who, being the newest Emperor, has a bounty of 2.02 billion
- His moniker of "Mr. Prince" way back in Alabasta and his adherence to wearing suits hearkens back to his old days of being a Mafioso's son. Oda's dropped hints before, and think about it:
- He's constantly wearing a suit and smokes a lot, which is in line with portrayals of Wiseguys in media.
- He's really sneaky when he puts his mind into it, as seen in Alabasta and in Ennies Lobby.
- Oda stated that he based Sanji from Mr. Pink in Reservoir Dogs. The sneaky, smarmy guy who managed to survive. What if he's not only based on Steve Buscemi's physical appearance, but used the gangland noir as a backdrop for Sanji's backstory?
- While it might be true that his dream now is to find that mystical sea where all the world's fish dwell, the reason he's in the ship on East Blue might not be for good reasons. He might be there to infiltrate, or was on a mission from the family. OR, he ran away from home so he could chase that dream himself.
- The latter possibility appears more likely: after all, the family is now looking for Sanji only after a real picture of him has become public with the latest wanted poster (see the "only alive" specification). They may have not known he was alive after more than a decade, and he didn't care.
- This is confirmed in so far as the Mafia Prince angle is concerned. Whether or not the dream to find the sea remains to be seen.
- The Warship Island arc supports this as well. Or, you know, it would if it was canon.
- Confirmed in chapter 821 when he and Momonosuke hears the voice of Zunisha when Jack attacks him.
- Confirmed as of chapter 823.
- This is so close so far. Pekom's reaction was dead on to what you said, and Sanji's reasons for possibly taking Caesar with him is likely similar to this. What's missing though is that Big Mom wanted Sanji to go with her crew, rather than him volunteering himself. Still, if we find out soon that Sanji accepted her "Tea Party" for the reason you suggested (he didn't want Capone to hurt Zou and the Straw Hats), then this is practically Confirmed.
- Vivi did tell her father and Igaram at the end of the Alabasta arc that she wouldn't have been able to keep up with them, anyway.
- They might appear during reverie.
- Indeed, she's finally made another appearance in manga canon not too many years after she got an increase in cover stories. Confirmed.
- Also confirmed that she would attend Reverie, though Cobra was able to attend as well.
- The appearance of the Den Den Mushi makes it fairly clear that the voice on the other end is Apoo.
- Extremely unlikely. Impulsive though Kidd may be, splitting up an alliance mere days after completing it without getting anything done would be a colossal waste of time and energy for him. Not to mention, the end of the Dressrosa arc shows his alliance still holds strong. Maybe Kidd doesn't work directly under Kaido, but he very likely didn't downright refuse to work under him either.
- I wouldn't be surprised if he did refuse. Kidd's shown in Sabaody just how bad his temper is when he outright threatened the other two Supernovas.
- Seemingly confirmed by chapter 824. Kidd has been imprisoned by Kaido and is gravely injured.
- Confirmed by later chapters. Kaido landed on the island where the three of them were meeting, and offered all of them the chance to work under him. Hawkins and Apoo joined him, Kidd didn't, and Kaido beat him up and imprisoned him, hoping to break his spirit and make him an underling.
- Oddly enough, Confirmed but also Jossed. It seems they were briefly captured by Big Mom, but escaped, all of it offscreen. Unfortunately, while some translations clearly imply that they were actually on her ship captive and escaped, others make it sound as though they "escaped" from her ship as in they evaded her on the Thousand Sunny.
- Confirmed in a more traditional sense later on. She most definitely is interested in his cooking like you said, but it turns out she has other reasons to take him as well.
- Confirmed with the introduction of the Minkmen after chapter 800.
- When we first saw the list of slave varieties at Sabody it included long arms, long legs, snake necks and mink-men, since then we have seen a few long arms (such as Appo and Ideo) and Tamago and Blue Gilly the long legs but no minkmen or snake necks.
- Confirmed for Bepo and Pekoms being Minks, but it's unlikely the Awakened Zoans are Minks.
- The last bit of evidence is that Pekoms, Bepo, Minotaurus and the other demon guards all have the same beady little black eyes.
- Awakening is a more powerful form of a devil fruit like turning everything to string
- We already have the Spade Pirates and the Heart Pirates, as well as a huge organization run by someone named Joker, so why not?
- Semi-Confirmed: Joker/Doflamingo's top executives all have a card naming theme, and Law was supposed to be in the Heart seat.
- Second part might be Jossed since they're a famous family of assassins.
- First part, however, is confirmed. The Vinsmokes are not only high class Assassins, but the WG still considers them high ranking nobles even though they rule over no land. At the least, their patriarch has enough pull to get Sanji's bounty changed himself. And, again, they're rather famous in the New World.
- Wow. You know, this is really starting to look likely as of the Zou Arc. Especially the Wanted poster thing; what happened when he finally got his face on it? Something unusual of course; he's wanted only Alive. Perhaps he IS an important person.
- Jossed, He turns out to be a scion of a family of assassins from North Blue.
- Aaaand congrats, this is now officially Un-Jossed; they are a royal family... who just so happen to also be a family of assassins. So Confirmed
- He's been revealed to be his younger brother Yonji, but Ichiji and Niji (probable names at this point) may still be Sanji's twins.
- Close enough, he's a quadruplet.
- Not necessarily. While hidden depths would be interesting, it wouldn't be very anti-climatic to have simple, extremely hedonistic villain. Based on what we've seen, she actually makes a fairly good Evil Counterpart to Luffy and the rest of the Strawhats, the only difference being she cares nothing for her nakama.
- Unless her hidden depths are Mama Bear tendencies. That would take her Red Baron to the next level: she doesn't give a shit about her henchmen, but she does at least love her daughters deeply enough to inflict hell upon whoever lays a finger on one of them.
- I say we count this as Confirmed, since probably no one was expecting her to have the whole "utopia" goal. More specifically, she wants to become family with every race in the world and have a family dinner with them in harmony, allegedly.
- Confirmed with the captain Capone himself.
- This might be a WMG if it was said before Whole Cake Island arc. As of now, it is just waiting to be confirmed.
- Confirmed as of Chapter 835 by her own father!
- Confirmed as of Chapter 835 by one of Big Moms exes whose Lola's father.
- It should be noted that Lola's hair color also matches the hair on Big Mom's Jolly Roger.
- Plus, a woman in the Firetank Pirates (Bege's crew that allied with Big Mom) looks insanely similar to Lola, to the point that even Sanji noted the difference (Though he didn't remember Lola right away). She may or may not be Big Mom's daughter as well, but it's not impossible.
- Big Mom has many, many children, and one of them has gone off to seek a husband of her own.
- Confirmed
- Considering his older sister is named Reiju (With "rei" meaning "zero") and his younger brother is Yonji (With "yon" being Japanese for "four"), it seems likely the two older brothers will share a similar Theme Naming.
- Finally Confirmed in chapter 838.
- WMG: Her oldest child is Lola.
- WMG: Her name will be Charlotte Berry
- Confirmed, her oldest child is named Charlotte Perospero and he's an important plot device in Caesar's story so far. The mini WMG's here are Jossed however.
- Capone seems to be behind some of the unpleasantness the Strawhats are facing as of the Zou arc.
- Kid seems to have been beaten and imprisoned by Kaido and might have been betrayed by Appo so he might be willing to ally himself with the alliance for revenge.
- Confirmed, Capone Bege is probably the third biggest obstacle in the Totland Arc aside from Big Mom and Germa 66.
- The specific confirmation above is Jossed, but the WMG is confirmed : Capone ends up being an ally fro Whole Cake Island, but both Apoo and Hawkins are villains working under Kaido in Wano.
- Confirmed, it's called "Gomu Gomu no Kong Organ". He compresses his fists first and then fires them like the gatling gun.
- Confirmed: Judge used to be a science research partner to Vegapunk.
- Any mothers in One Piece is to be presumed dead until mentioned otherwise. Let's see the list : Usopp's mother, Nami's adoptive mother, Vivi's mother, Shirahoshi's mother, Rebecca's mother, Robin's mother, Ace's mother... Now that I think of it, Big Mom deserved the title yonkou already for surviving this far. It is mentioned in SBS that Oda said 'mother' is the opposite of 'adventure', thus his tendency to kill of mothers.
- WELL, I wouldn't be surprised that this poor woman didn't survive quadruplet birth...
- Confirmed; the siblings' mom died when they were kids.
- Confirmed, although whether Judge was abusive to her for her kindness is unknown at the moment.
- Confirmed in chapter 841
- Confirmed, although not in the way stated here. Luffy actually just activates Gear 4th with the balloon belly and all, dubs it "Tank Man", and blows Cracker away in an instant. All because Cracker filled him up with the biscuits.
- Confirmed! Although it's not clear if he just made it up on the fly or already had it in mind, Luffy activates Gear Fourth while having a massive balloon belly and dubs the new form "Tank Man".
- Further confirmed in Chapter 894, with the reveal of Gear Fourth: Snake Man. In addition, the fact that Snake Man exists suggests that Tank Man wasn't something Luffy made up on the spot.
- WMG: Her oldest child is Lola.
- WMG: Her name will be Charlotte Berry
- Confirmed, her oldest child is named Charlotte Perospero and he's an important plot device in Caesar's story so far. The mini WMG's here are Jossed however.
- Perospero is stated to be the oldest son (chapter 834).
- A little off with the individual guesses, but sure enough chapter 844 is titled "Luffy vs. Sanji''. Confirmed.
- Like Blackbeard?
- Since Blackbeard already has one of the orignal colors of the Gods, I guess Momma with be Bluebrows & Kaidou will be Yellow Sideburns then if it's both color and hair motif.
- Confirmed for Kaido having black hair, we have yet to see Big Mom's.
- Jossed for Big Mom though, a volume cover reveals that she has pink hair.
- Oh, also, this might be shot in the dark, but it's possible the theme of this arc is "deception". Pudding lied in her intro. Pekoms is lying to his crew. Pedro seems like he's hiding something. Reiju and Yonji are hiding that they met the Straw Hats. "Niji" (Sanji's second brother) calls "Ichiji" (the first) a liar when he says he wants to see Sanji.
- Good points, but Doflamingo is the living proof that the apple can sometimes fall incredibly far away from the tree, so I personally believe Pudding's personality is genuine despite being raise by Big Mom (Besides, who says her father didn't raise her?), and that she wouldn't lead the Straw Hats into a trap or sell them out. Or at least, if she does, that she'll regret it and that it won't be done out of malice (Kind of like Conis in the Skypiea arc).
- Jossed, the living plants and objects on the island are the ones feeding Big Mom info, and Pudding is shown worried over having not been able to get to the coast.
- ... except NOT. She's been in league with Big Mom the whole time and is well known for her acting. Confirmed.
- Adding possible hilarity is that one of Sanji's eyes is always unseen, so it balances everything out. You got a (visually) one-eyed man marrying a three-eyed lady. And it fits Sanji's name, as "San" means "three" in Japanese.
- As of Chapter 824, this may be the case as Charlotte Purin's picture looks very similar to the 3-eyed girl we saw at the conclusion of the Fishman Island Arc.
- However (I'm the OP on this post btw) we find out she has 84 siblings in Chapter 828, so sadly, things aren't looking too great for the theory now. It's entirely possible that the similar looking girl with 3 eyes is one of her siblings. BUT, for the record though, let it be known now that a part of me thinks Oda is just double-trolling us; he knows we were expecting Pudding to be the girl with 3-eyes, and so maybe she is and he's just making us think she's not. It's still possible she's simply got her hair covering a closed eye on her forehead.
- Adding possible hilarity is that one of Sanji's eyes is always unseen, so it balances everything out. You got a (visually) one-eyed man marrying a three-eyed lady. And it fits Sanji's name, as "San" means "three" in Japanese.
- Confirmed in chapter 850. She's also evil.
- This is extremely doubtful. Remember, Sanji wouldn't hit Kalifa even if it meant risking not being able to save Robin and/or his own death. At this point I'd have to imagine he would rather pull an Ace and Take The Bullet if Purin was going to kill a crewmember rather than hit her.
- Considering the first look we got at her personality in chapter 826, it's pretty much Jossed. She's quite the opposite, a really Nice Girl who's even noted by Nami to be "far too forgiving".
- Except NOT. She was pretending to be nice the whole time, and OP hit the nail on the head with that part of the theory. It remains to be seen if he'd hit her, but at least half of this is Confirmed so far.
- The second part is now Jossed. Not only does Sanji not hit her, he instead goes so far to call Pudding's third eye beautiful- a display of kindness that shocks her to the point that she has a Villainous Breakdown.
- Looking pretty likely right now, though probably not for the reason cited above. Big Mom reveals that she doesn't actually like the Vinsmokes and she's briefly becomes enraged at Judge when he asks her about Giants. Even later on, Judge and his sons casually talk about Sanji not really being one of them and they scheme against Big Mom... all while unaware that Big Mom's Animate Inanimate Objects are listening to every word.
- Confirmed, pretty much: the Charlotte family's plans to kill the entire Vinsmoke family and take over their science and technology can't lead to anything good between them.
- Confirmed, basically. Though her power is seemingly not tied to her third eye, she does in fact have the ability to alter people's memories. It's not exactly hypnosis, but she edits Reiju's memories so that she has a false recount of where her wounds came from.
- Given that she's been revealed to be more and more benevolent in every chapter, I'd wager this is extremely likely.
- Pretty much solidly Confirmed by chapter 852.
- Originally, Sanji's mom was going to die from the illness anyway. Sanji tried his hard to cook a food. It is noted by the maid it was awful. She decided to eat it anyway to make him happy. Unknown to him, she had an allergy to the food that make her condition worse. Judge found out about this later on, but he didn't tell Sanji. He did held grudge towards his son.
- The original guess is confirmed, but the details are jossed. She took a drug in order to undue the effects of Judge's personality-altering modifications on her boys while she was pregnant with them. Though it sadly failed on three of them, it worked on Sanji, who she considered her crowning achievement.
- Confirmed, although in completely different circumstances.
- However her death made him the person he is now. Despite the lack of romance in One Piece, Oda's fond including this in flashback, like the Kyros story and Tesoro's background.
- If this guess is true, I'm going to extend this is the same with Dragon's background. Luffy's mother's death driven him to do revolution, and he left Luffy behind for safety.
- Seemingly Confirmed by chapter 852. Even though we only see him arguing with her, Reiju implies that Judge only really started to get hard on Sanji because he blamed him for his wife's death.
- It is Pudding, though whether her father was a three eyed man or her third eye came from a Devil Fruit is yet to be seen.
- Looking very likely at this point; there almost has to be a three eyed tribe because her Devil Fruit seems to be unrelated to her eye.
- Confirmed in chapter 853.
- Another way could be that Big Mom knew Brook before his demise (in fact, she was a fangirl of his group) and realizing that Brook is her idol from back then (because his new persona of Soul King is completely different) she gets stunned long enough for others to deliver her a hard blow
- Well, you're close so far, as the latest info makes it seem like Brook will be essential to stealing her road poneglyph. Which probably counts as "defeating her".
- Though the "Big Mom was a fan of Brook" part is jossed from the get-go, as Brook never performed publicly (Let alone had a band, for that matter) when he was alive. He was a musician and a pirate, and didn't start achieving stardom until the Time Skip.
- Confirmed,(although not for the reasons listed above); Brook taking the Road Poneglyph is easily one of the worst blows the Straw Hats gave her, and it's arguably even worse for her than if they had just beat her in a fight.
- Even better, later on he triggers Big Mom's Weaksauce Weakness by breaking the picture of Mother Caramel.
- It was a fake/wrong picture, similar like Sanji and Duval issues.
- It was an old picture, the woman had either turned into old woman or a Gonk, something like reverse!Alvida.
- The photo only showed the woman's top part. Maybe the bottom part is an eight legged spider or something weird, non human.
- Seeing as how she otherwise looks identical to the 3 eyed girl, I'd be willing to bet that's what's missing. Notice her hair obscuring her forehead.
- Unlikely. Pudding has 88 siblings, including 38 sisters, so it's more likely the three-eyed girl is one of her sisters.
- Jossed: with the Sanji rescue team actually meeting Pudding who looks exactly like her picture and is madly in love with him.
- Or Not! Later Confirmed; She is indeed the three eyed girl. She's also evil.
- Confirmed in Chapter 835 to be sisters, no further information about the twins part yet.
- And now Confirmed in Chapter 858 to indeed be twins, with Lola being the younger one. No info yet on whether Lola has a full name though.
- Correction about Sanji being the only Straw Hat who hasn't lost an important person to death—he actually has, if you count his fellow cooks on the ship attacked by Zeff, who lost their lives in the tidal wave that came up almost immediately after.
- Zeff remarks that he hasn't seen any bodies wash up, implying that they might not actually be dead. Even if they ARE dead, coworkers from the same ship isn't on the same level as losing a family member (biological or not) or a friend as close as Kuina was (basically a sister).
- Addition from the original poster: If Sanji does have such a person in his back-story, then very likely they're the ones he would've first heard about All Blue from. After all, he knew about it before he met Zeff; he had to have learned about it from someone, right? And then that person's death both gave him the desire to find All Blue and instilled in him the instinct to protect women from harm.
- Possibly it was his Missing Mom. Recent chapters have revealed that she died when Sanji was very young, since his father Jajji scoffs at Sanji's demeanor as "the remnant of a person long dead" (indirect quote), and it's implied that Sanji got his kinder nature from his mother. So, perhaps she was the one who first told him about All Blue, and her death motivated him to seek out the legendary sea for her sake.
- As it turns out, the "strict upbringing" was largely thanks to Zeff telling Sanji that "men must not hit women" is a rule that existed long before the age of the dinosaurs, and threatening to cut Sanji's balls off if he ever stepped out of line in that regard.
- Confirmed. Did you expect any less?
- She does ruin the wedding plan but not like that When she lifts the veil to show him her third eye, he touches her like he did Violet by sincerely calling it beautiful. Turns out she was roundly mocked for it, even Big Mom found it creepy and couldn't bear to look at her. She developed her cruel and twisted personality as a defense mechanism. Hearing someone compliment it causes her to breakdown in tears and miss the deadline prompting Big Mom to order the priest to do it, Katakuri sees Sanji will dodge it, so does it himself. Sanji dodges that, that's when Luffy makes his grand entrance.
- Yeah, even though the details are off, this is basically Confirmed. She messes up pretty badly.
- Confirmed.
- Confirmed. Ironically, Carmel was a nasty, evil woman, yet she raised Big Mom to be kind while she was in her "Mother Carmel" ruse.... but then Big Mom turned evil anyway.
- Confirmed, sort of. Her backstory wasn't tragic in the traditional sense, as she didn't really have anybody do anything horrible to her... Instead, it's tragic because she was an otherwise innocent little girl who was just a natural born killer with a deadly eating disorder (as in deadly for others, not herself) and was basically doomed from the start.
- Alternatively, she may have just killed her rather than eating her. And alternatively alternatively, maybe Carmel Took The Bullet from that giant trying to kill Linlin.
- Since now we know Soul power was originally Carmel's, the implication is that is how Big Mom got it from her in the first place, chilling thought isn't it...... I wonder if Teach had done the same to get Whitebeard's power......
- Because eating someone is obviously the only way one can "steal" a Devil Fruit from someone else. Just ask Sabo. Seriously though, while Carmel's sudden disappearance and former power is cause for alarm, these alone are too weak on their own to claim Big Mom ate Carmel. The possibility is there, but it's not the only one.
- Oh please, why so hostile? Did I ever say it is the only way to steal a power from someone else? It is hard to discuss with someone who refuses to get off their high horses, much less one with a misunderstanding with what a Wild Mass Guessing is, hint: it is supposed to be "wild" guesses made with insufficient information at the time of the writing. Also if you think what Blackbeard did with Whitebeard is that he just pull out a fruit from his ass and eat it inside the curtain, I must say it is kind of disappointing.
- My apologies for the earlier entry, it wasn't my intention to sound harsh or agressive; I didn't think what I typed through. However, while I realize the implication is stronger than I thought, as well as the most likely explanation at the moment, (save from Linlin getting her powers from eating Carmel directly; I believe she gained them later), I do believe there is another explanation: Carmel set it up in order to break Linlin, cooperating with some Cipher Pol agents. She could run away with the kids while leaving shreds of their clothes behind, and have a disguised agent enroll a mentally broken Linlin under Cipher Pol or the Marines, with the false promise they'll help her see Carmel again.
- I apologize as well, I didn't clearly explain my believe that WMGs are not supposed to be argued with, but only Confirmed or Jossed after the fact. Your suggestion is very interesting, and if true would require further flashbacks to show the aftermath, like how and when Carmel die (she has to be since her power went to Big Mom), how Big Mom got her hands on the Soul power, how the government lost the plot and got a Yonko instead of a Fleet Admiral out of the deal. I like it very much.
- Unfortunately, since the flashback is over, I have a feeling this is one of those things that's merely implied and never going to be directly confirmed. But, at the very least, we can say that it's highly probable going based off of the information we got. I mean, what other explanation could there be? Like, honestly.
- Confirmed: She did eat Mother Caramel, and the rest of her friends in the orphanage in the middle of one of her hunger fits.
- Bonus points if Big Mom, in her youth, looked and dressed much like Nami looks now, considering Big Mom's Vivre Card causes the Homies to defer to Nami as Big Mom.
- Jossed.
- Actually, nope! Oda confirmed in a SBS 86 that she was indeed beautiful in her late 20's. She still looked recognizable, but she was much more slender and attractive. As for dressing like Nami, it's hard to see, but she does indeed appear to be wearing a bikini top in her picture◊.
- I'm expecting it like a parallel with Luffy and Ace. Ace was always stronger in the past, but in the end, it's Luffy who saved him instead. Minus death, of course.
- As of 852, this is extremely likely considering he outright says he doesn't want her to die alongside the rest of their family.
- Confirmed, though in a different scenario. He directly blocks an attack from Big Mom (alongside Luffy) that was meant for Reiju.
- Confirmed. Wasn't this already all but stated in that chapter though?
- Yup. It's also just Chiffon plus Sanji and Pudding, not anybody else, but this is Confirmed either way.
- So far, Charlotte Katakuri seems to fit the bill. He's a Logia user that can change into a hard, stretchy, sticky substance that vaguely looks like Luffy when he uses Gear Third...
- Seeing as how the Mochi Mochi no mi (Katakuri's fruit) is being built up as "Luffy's, but better" (especially in chapter 879) I'm gonna go ahead and say this is basically Confirmed. Katakrui's fruit was retconned into a Paramecia as well, making it even more likely it could be considered the Gum Gum fruit's superior.
- Confirmed in chapter 895.
- Confirmed in chapter 903, and indeed, it rose over a billion.
- Possible, but I doubt the Wano side of the Straw Hats will get a "massive" bounty upgrade since they weren't involved with the events on Whole Cake Island. The only other Straw Hat I do expect to get a massive bounty upgrade is Robin, for her ability to read poneglyphs; now that the Straw Hats have Big Mom's poneglyphs, the Marines might just shit their pants at the thought of Robin deciphering them.
- That's why I said "the Straw Hats on Whole Cake Island will get bounty increases, not anybody else.
- Now very likely; Luffy wants to fight and defeat Katakuri at full strength, so that he (Luffy) becomes stronger and develops his Haki, so unless their fight is somehow interrupted, the possibility that Luffy's bounty will double and reach a billion is quite likely. I also suspect Brook's will get the second biggest increase, since he was behind the actual copying of the Poneglyphs.
- So far, CONFIRMED for Luffy and Sanji. Luffy's in particular rises by a billion while Sanji jumps to 330,000,000; also, this means that Sanji's bounty did in fact go higher than Zoro (and he DID celebrate it). So far, it's yet to be seen if the rest of the crew will follow suit though.
- What?
- .... Believe, it or not, it's Confirmed that Muscato is alive. He doesn't do anything of note though. He just kind of shows up again.
- Confirmed... sort of. The cake's biggest benefit was that her eating it stalled her long enough for the crew to escape, though Big Mom herself was fine afterward.
- Confirmed.
- We technically already DID get his backstory flashback, in the Fishman Island arc itself. But other than that, it's indeed likely that if he gets a second flashback explaining what happened at another point of his life, it won't be in the Whole Cake Island/Totto Land arc, which is already in its final stage. It's far more likely to wait until a later arc.
- That flashback was more about Otohime and Fisher Tiger than Jimbei, nothing in the flashback made him seem to be The Woobie to me personally, I don’t know about you, and as I said we don’t know what his dream is.
- Confirmed, although didn't we already get a thorough flashback of his life in Fishman Island?
- Confirmed, although the Reverie Arc was mentioned to be coming before Wano for quite some time.
- Jossed. She apparently did control the thunderclouds that Zeus and Prometheus created, but not the Homies themselves. And she though she did manage to take out a lot of the grunt soldiers with a lightning bolt, the stronger ones easily survived and captured both her and Luffy.
- Half-confirmed, half-jossed. Nami DOES take control of Zeus—and, by storing him inside the Perfect Clima-Tact, even takes Zeus with her outside of Totland. Prometheus, however, remains with Big Mom.
- Confirmed save for the "Dragon takes hostages" part and the Vice-Admirals being involved (though a few of them do appear).
- Highly, highly likely as of the Whole Cake Island Arc.
- Confirmed, except for Vivi being the protagonist as there is none.
- Confirmed to be a Gonk as far as his appearance goes.
- In chapter 932, she announces herself as being the daughter of a samurai. Of course, the land is chock-full of samurai, but...
- Confirmed: she herself spills the beans to Zoro in chapter 938.
- This implies there were banded to begin with. The only thing they have in common is their agreement with the government, and the battle a Marineford was probably the first time they were all at the same place.
- Seems more plausible now, given Fujitora's agenda.
- Confirmed: the Shichibukai system was abolished at the Reverie.
Much like Pica who is a stone-assimilation man, Trebol assimilates with sticky, explosive mucus - lots of it - to give him a "thicker" body. How he can evade attacks is explained not just by being so thin, but also actively "moving" inside the mucus. We also see how his mucus detaches from him after he got badly wounded by Law.
This made me come up with a theory: for element-assimilation fruits, their element are technically not part of their bodies; just that the fruit's users move the element along with their bodies. By contrast, logia's elemental bodies are part of their bodies; striking them is as good as striking their bodies even though they won't be hurt - unless if the attacker is using Armament Haki. That is why Monet made a point of dodging her entire snow body when Tashigi is trying to attack her with Haki.
Seriously, this element-assimilation power could make a common subtype of Paramecia on their own.
- Well, he's not "assimilating" the Slime like Pica assimilates stone, he's producing it the same way Magellan's Paramecia produces poison. Still, this is basically Confirmed; his powers do indeed work exactly like that.
- Confirmed, it's called "Gomu Gomu no Kong Organ". He compresses his fists first and then fires them like the gatling gun.
- Adding possible hilarity is that one of Sanji's eyes is always unseen, so it balances everything out. You got a (visually) one-eyed man marrying a three-eyed lady. And it fits Sanji's name, as "San" means "three" in Japanese.
- As of Chapter 824, this may be the case as Charlotte Pudding's picture looks very similar to the 3-eyed girl we saw at the conclusion of the Fishman Island Arc.

- Confirmed in chapter 850.
- Considering his older sister is named Reiju (With "rei" meaning "zero") and his younger brother is Yonji (With "yon" being Japanese for "four"), it seems likely the two older brothers will share a similar Theme Naming.
- Finally Confirmed in chapter 838.
- Confirmed. He is now voiced by Masane Tsukayama.
- This one was a long standing suspicion in parts of the fandom that O-Kiku might have been transgender when she was first introduced, but died down after a while. I was firmly on the woman camp, until chapter 939 with the reveal of his full name Kikunojo 菊之丞 by Hiyori, which the nojo 之丞 part has always been traditionally a male name, combine with the Kin'emon's initial attitude towards women when he first meet Nami, and the fact that O-Tsuru didn't recognize him even though they should have been old acquaintances since they both connected to Kin'emon and Kiku should have never aged a day for 20 years. The truth might be that Kikunojo was undercover after time traveling as a women to spy on Wano and wait for Kin'emon's return after gathering reinforcements, looking and acting differently while doing that.
- Confirmed.
- Hebi Hebi no Mi, Model: Yamata no Orochi confirmed.
- Confirmed for the part about getting a new sword, jossed for the replacing part; he gets a sword called "Enma", a sword wielded by Kozuki Oden and the only weapon known to have ever injured Kaido. Instead of replacing Sandai Kitetsu, he replaces Shusui due to it being returned to Ryuma's grave.
- Call that one as good as Jossed, considering that he has to swim alongside the Blackbeard Pirates' raft because he's too big for it.
- Confirmed, actually! The reason he's able to swim in the water despite being a DF user is that he's just that big.
- Jossed, we see her voluntarily turn her fake good girl act back on when she sees Brook in chapter 853.
- Seems that it is unjossed now. Boy that girl has issues...
- Confirmed
- It does seem to be going in this direction, since Coribou has gotten a Butt-Monkey Cover Arc, similar to how Buggy did way back when.
- somewhat confirmed, but this isn't a guess with a concrete yes/no. However, guess who Luffy met in prison during the Wano arc, like how he met Buggy in Impel Down? And if what OP meant by "Buggy" was being comic relief, Caribou is definitely that.
- If Denjiro had just dyed his hair and worked it into a pompadour, he could well pass as Kyoshiro. Maybe Kin'emon's dyed hair was brought in as a low-key Foreshadowing?
- Confirmed.
- Confirmed. While we don't know the name of his species just yet, we now know that he is most definitely not a dragon.
- Definitely 100% confirmed by Chapter 999. We still don't know Kadio's species' name yet, we definitely do know now that he is definitely now not a dragon as it is reveal he ate the Mystical Model of the Fish-Fish Fruit (whatever the hell that meant for now).
- Confirmed in chapter 1053: By means currently unknown, Buggy has risen to fill one of the now vacant spots.
- Hm, well, so far, everything's going according to plan. We'll see soon enough though.
- Well, it was indeed derailed. I'm not sure if you would call it surprising though.... I think just about everybody figured Big Mom herself would stop the missiles in one way or another. Delightful though, I agree. The looks on their faces when she blew the missiles up were pretty hilarious.
- Pretty much confirmed: Cobra was killed (something terrible) and Sabo (a Revolutionary) was framed for it.
- Alternate guess: Charlotte Katakuri and Yamato will take over their parent's respective crews (with Katakuri renaming the "Big Mom Pirates" into the "Charlotte Pirates"), and lead them in allying with the Straw Hats.
- Base guess confirmed; Kaido and Big Mom have both been defeated and are no longer considered Emperors; and Luffy is now one of the Four. However, it's Buggy who's the new Emperor alongside him instead of Weevil.
- "Red Dog" Akainu/Sakazuki has fiery Magma which is typically associated with red.
- "Blue Pheasant" Aokiji/Kuzan has Ice which is typically associated with blue.
- "Yellow Monkey" Kizaru/Borsalino has Light which is typically somewhere in the white/yellow/gold spectrum.
- "Wisteria (Purple) Tiger" Fujitora/Issho has Gravity which usually has a purple association.
Given this, it would make sense for "Green Bull" Ryokugyu to have a power that fits that theme, and green is usually associated with either wind or plants in terms of elemental colors. Plants might have a bonus point here in that he's been stated to have been fasting for three years, which might be less absurd if he can somehow photosynthesize.
- Confirmed; Ryokugyu does have plant-based powers.
- Alternatively, it will be another form of Gear 4 but this time based on Conqueror's Haki called either Lionman or Kingman
- Confirmed, Luffy does defeat Kaido after developing Gear 5.
What if however it was just a big Red Herring and Imu was a different person, while still hailing from the same time as her (possibly thanks to the Ope-Ope Fruit)? Possibly someone who loved her and still holds a grudge, and has now an interest in Vivi because she looks a lot like her ancestor?
As for Lily, whatever happened to her that caused her to never return to Arabasta, she may have still left a mark on history, somewhere else.
Amazon Lily.
- Well, Imu is not Nefertari Lili, so that part is confirmed... however the reason Lili and the other Nefertari did not become Celestial Dragons is because they're part of the D clan.
- Chapter 826 has introduced Yonji, who has the same exact reaction to beautiful women as his older brother Sanji. Unless all male Vinsmokes are that way, he could be a good candidate since he may share Sanji's chivalry towards women.
- If I had to bet, it would probably be the second son. The first and Yonji seem to be too evil so far. At the very least, the second son called the first on his bullshit when he said he "couldn't wait to see Sanji", so it's a good sign.
- Isn't it going to be his sister? One Piece had used female-villain-turned-good plots several times (ex: Robin, Viola, even Vivi and Nami to minor extent) and she kinda reminded me of how Nojiko acted to Nami.
- After what we've learned in Chapter 840, this is even more likely to be the case.
- It isn't looking too likely right now considering how cruel they were to Sanji, giving him a very good reason to hate his family's guts. The possibility of a Heel–Face Turn from one of them still remains, but it's not very high yet.
- Aaand chapter 839 brought the chances of this WMG happening to oblivion; between the fact that Sanji's siblings laughed imagining the various ways he'd die after running away when they were kids, Niji's incredibly petty attitude and his beatdown of Cosette which made Sanji hate him even more, there's no way in hell they'll ever be anything more than enemies.
- And now all of the brothers are allies! So in a strange way, this ended up being true.
- Confirmed for his sister Reiju.
- Confirmed (not the Ryugyu framing part, but someone did get framed). Cobra was killed by the Five Elders and Imu who framed Sabo for it after the fact.
- Confirmed. The traitor was Kanjuro.
- Confirmed
- Jinbe's bus did come back in Wano, so for all intents and purposes, this is confirmed.
