    In General
    Title Sequence

    Intro Sequence Contest

Book 1: Hexside's Number One Delinquent Witch

    Prologue
  • How does Eda react to Principal Bump telling her Luz tricked a student into pepper-spraying herself? By calmly saying "That's a new one."

    Chapters 1- 10

Chapter 1: The Owl Lady's Daughter

  • Once everyone stops laughing at Boscha (who got tricked into pepper-spraying herself), Luz asks them why before realizing that Principal Bump is standing behind her. "Oh, owl pellets", indeed.

Chapter 2: Won't Get Away

  • Principal Bump knows that he allows Boscha to get away with her bullying and admits that it sounds messed up after saying it out loud.
  • During a flashback, Eda's taken by surprise when baby Luz seems to bite her (actually she was hungry and trying to breastfeed herself, hence the tugging on her dress.) King cracks up and says the infant thinks Eda's a cow, causing the witch to zap him with lightning.
King: (after being shocked) Can't you take a joke, woman!?

Chapter 3: Here Comes the Tutor

  • Luz explaining Jiminy Cricket to Willow, only to get a cartoon and a movie mixed up.

Chapter 4: Incidents and Family Secrets

  • Hooty is somehow able to hear the narration, then proceeds to ask if he's gonna get his own chapter as he's the "best character in the story".

Chapter 5: King and Lil Luz's Day Out

Chapter 6: Emotional Guilt

Chapter 7: Double Double Tutor and Trouble

  • Once Amity sees Luz's writing in her writing session, she becomes baffled by her poor handwriting.
Amity: So much grammar errors, misspellings, y-y-you can't tell the difference between "there" and "their"... how in Titan are you still able to read!? (turns to Eda) And you! You're supposed to have homeschooled her magic and all but have you in anyway taught her how to write?!

Chapter 8: Witch's Duel or Don't

  • Amity holds back her laughter upon hearing from Eda that Lilith peed herself seeing the Emperor's Coven for the first time in her youth.

Chapter 9: I Ain't Troubled Yet!

  • Anu Bist startles the troublemakers by appearing in a book as an image of himself coming out once they drop it.

Chapter 10: The Conjuring Conflict

  • Before becoming Hexside's groundskeeper, Eda quit 9 jobs in the past. At least three times, she announced her quittings to Luz and King upon coming home.
    • After she quit her job helping kids cross the street, King asks if she was helping kids when she did. Eda then starts repeatedly saying "crap" and running out of the house.

    Chapters 11- 20

Chapter 11: Coming to Terms

  • Luz describes herself as a kid as how she sees Amity: a "wide-eyed, naive, spunky little dreamer." The pouting witch is not amused.

Chapter 12: Heart to Heart

  • Luz has three Imagine Spots on how Amity would react to her confessing she caused the ghost infestation:
Luz: GAAAH! Why does it always end with me dying!?
  • Luz being annoyed that everyone in the Owl House knows that she caused the ghost infestation, including all their animated belongings.
Luz: Does everyone in this house know about the abomination track?
Demon objects in her room: Do you want us to answer?
Luz: (mutters) Why do I keep forgetting that the walls here literally have eyes and ears?
    • This also gives us this conversation:
Luz: A Clawthorne never backs down from anything they put their mind to!
Mini-Fridge: Except if it costs them a friendship, just like what caused the fallout between you and your best friend Willow.
King: See, I couldn't have said it better myself.
Luz: (pinching her nose) Okay, maybe the talking mini-fridge does have a point.
    • Soon after, Eda comes into the room to hide from Yi Yi after he spawned two more siblings, only for them to burst into the room and one of them burps fire everywhere causing everyone to scream.
  • Spellpool. 'Nuff said.

Chapter 13: The Talk

  • Luz feeling tortured by Eda explaining sex to her.
    • When she tries to leave, Hooty tells her he's enchanted to put the house on lockdown once he hears the "S" word.
    • During her explanation, Eda reveals she went through Luz's maginet history and knows she's been visiting mature sites. Eda proceeds to show her a few pictures from the sites she printed out, and Luz mentally begs to be killed from the embarrassment.
    • Eda gives off Too Much Information about her first time doing it, and Luz (who just finished throwing up) demands this to end. Eda shushes her saying she hasn't gotten to her honeymoon in "Las Vee-gas" with her ex-husband. Luz screams at the top of her lungs, but Eda ignores her and continues.
    • Eventually, things move on to what to expect from arguments and confessions; by then, Luz has calmed down and become more invested in the talk.

Chapter 14: Swap or Not

  • Viney hijacking the confession to Principal Bump:
Viney:'WE DID IT! WE'RE THE ONES THAT CAUSED THE ABOMINATION TRACK GHOST INFESTATION! We threw a ghost ball into one of the cauldrons and I think the ball may have been expired or something because WE DIDN'T MEAN FOR IT TO GET OUT OF HAND! WE'RE GOOD WITCHES, SIR. PLEASE DON'T SEND US TO BE EATEN BY THE SCHOOL MASCOT!
  • Professor Blanc has taken to panhandling students outside the school. Principal Bump tells him he can just teach another track, but Blanc runs off saying he doesn't get paid enough to teach the urchins he's pestering for spare change.
    • Annoyed by this, Principal Bump mutters that he remembers when using cannibalism to discipline teachers was still socially acceptable. Luz and Viney simply look at each other and blink in response to this.

Chapter 15: Friendship Dynamics

Chapter 16: Mischief Gathering

Chapter 17: Raising Human

Chapter 18: Reunion

  • The first time we see Wendy and Soos, the latter is asking her about the possibility that they have counterparts in parallel universes.
Soos: Say Wendy, do you ever get the feeling that we exist simultaneously in multiple parallel universes, completely unaware of the others' existence?
Wendy: Have you been licking yourself again, Soos?
  • Gus mistaking Wendy for the owner of a restaurant.

Chapter 19: Summerween Fright

Chapter 20: Blighted by the Light

  • While Mabel, Candy, and Grenda are searching for Luz, they ask Blubs and Durland for help. Their response to finding out that Luz is in the mall and upset? Tell all the customers that Luz Clawthorne is "loose", causing them to panic.
Candy: Luz is even more feared than we realized.
  • While giving Mabel a "Reason You Suck" Speech, Luz points out that summer is too hot to wear sweaters and asks how she isn't swimming in her own sweat.

    Chapters 21- 30

Chapter 21: Exams to Survive

Chapter 22: Changes

Chapter 23: Doctor's Visits and Party Incidents

  • Luz practices asking Amity out with Hooty sporting a green wig. He gets too into it and rejects her, leading to Brucy hitting him in Luz's defense for not rejecting her properly.
Luz: (pulls Brucy away) Okay, okay, enough Brucy! As for you, Hooty, you're no help at all.
Hooty: I'm just saying as it is, girlfriend!
Luz: (monotone) ...Please don't do that again or I'll commit arson.
    Hooty: Geez, so overdramatic.
  • Luz heads straight for her room when she sees a scale popping out of her arm before Eda walks in from the Human Realm. Hearing Luz slam her door, Eda checks on her and when Luz says nothing's wrong, Eda questions what she's doing. Whatever she was about to guess may have been cut off by Luz running out, but the implications are there.
  • Cat makes it very clear she can't forget her time in the Shadow Realm and is trying really hard to.
  • Apparently, Edric and Emira tricked Cat into thinking she got turned into a mouse once. They may have enjoyed that prank, but it's probably why she didn't invite them.

Chapter 24: Human Date

Chapter 25: Good from the Bad

Chapter 26: Back to Hexside

Chapter 27: Maternal Aspiration

  • The second Luz and Amity officially hook up, everyone in the living room shouts "Finally!", as King and Willow tell them they weren't hiding it well, causing the two to blush in embarrassment.

Chapter 28 Regretful Decisions

  • Knowing their baby sister hooked up with Luz, Edric and Emira tease the girls by hinting at something that happened between them that they saw the previous night. King declares he doesn't wanna know what it is, and the girls simultaneously say it's not whatever he's thinking.
  • Luz refuses to risk the possibility of Gus and Cat becoming a thing, so she cooks up a plan to set Cat up with Hunter. It fails since Hunter claims to be seeing someone and Cat's not into gapped teeth.

Chapter 29: I'm Fine Memories

Chapter 30: Understanding Amity

  • Once Luz and Willow figure out how to fix Amity's memories, Luz declares nothing will stop them from repairing them all. She proceeds to open another one, immediately closes it sporting a furious blush, and decides the "Inner Amity" should handle the more personal memories.
  • After stealing the bell, Inner Amity shushes Luz while placing her finger over her lips, which Luz finds sinister yet attractive.
    Willow: You have issues, Luz.

    Chapters 31- 40

Chapter 31: Have A Little Hex With My Friends

  • Luz mistakes a spider for party food, which Willow corrects her on; Luz still finds the spider delicious.
  • Among the people the MFC have unmasked is Shmebulock, much to Luz's confusion as she wonders how he even got to the Boiling Isles.
  • After watching Skara ask Willow to Grom, Bo (sporting a smirk) asks Amelia and Cat if they picked up on what she did and they agree that the bard's crushing hard. Skara's response? To bury her reddened face into her hands and tell them to shut up.

Chapter 32: Grom: The Musical (Part 1)

  • After learning about Grometheus, Luz becomes overconfident that she'll beat him no problem despite Amity's warnings.

Chapter 33: Grom: The Musical (Part 2)

  • King being annoyed by Luz and Amity flirting with each other.
  • The reveal that Hunter is Edric's boyfriend means that Luz's plan to set Cat up with him never would've worked due to Incompatible Orientation.
  • To pay Nicole back for nominating Luz for Grom Queen, Eda and King graffiti the words "The Heiny House" on the Hieron residence.

Chapter 34: Domino Effect

Chapter 35: To Serve

Chapter 36: Everything's Gone Wrong

  • Luz texts Willow asking if she can spend the night at her house and if she can enter through her bedroom window (on the second floor). Willow asks her father, Sully, if it's okay and he tells her to just leave a sleeping bag out. Then we get this small scene with her fathers.
Gilbert: Why doesn't Luz ever use the door like other kids?
    Sully: She's Eda's kid, that's why.
  • After finding out that King knew Eda's curse is getting worse, Luz asks if everyone knew, which her mom replies just King. Luz then wonders if Hooty knew, who absentmindedly proclaims that he has a short attention span.
  • The fact that Professor Snope slept through the whole morning and thus, not even noticing neither of his two students aren't even in school.

Chapter 37: The Forest of Fear

  • Before the Amity illusion, Luz just shrugs off every illusion she comes across, even walking through them like they were nothing.
  • Luz calls the titular forest an asshole. The Inner Demon then tells her that's a different part of the Boiling Isles and that she doesn't want to know what the Titan's asshole looks like.

Chapter 38: The Reveal

  • Belos' reaction to finding out that Luz threw the portal key into a lake in the Forest of Fear.

Chapter 39: Understanding Lilith

Chapter 40: The Rescue

  • As the Clawthornes and Amity escape, King pukes on Nicole, which is recorded by the crowd.

Book 2: Two Worlds, One Family

    Prologue

    Chapters 41- 50

Chapter 41: Recovering

  • The camera demon calls Nicole "the barf lady from Penstagram" while Felicity Fox interviews her.

Chapter 42: Family Group Therapy

  • Gus mentions that he was going to learn how to survive a deranged rich tycoon who hunts people for sport in gym class. Mattholomule admits he still doesn't think that's a realistic scenario.
  • Before the group therapy session begins, King snarks that he thought it was an intervention for Eda's apple blood problem receiving a glare from the witch in question.

Chapter 43 Unemployment Filing

  • Hades paying Luz one coin for catching Spot and her calling him a cheapskate when she complains that he didn't even give her a snail but a token.

Chapter 44: Blindsided

  • Due to her resurrection, Lilith now gets electrocuted whenever she uses electrical appliances as seen when she tries to use a pencil sharpener.
  • While making their "welcome back" sign for Luz and Amity, Jerbo mentions he and Viney had to keep stopping Barcus from eating their paint because it "smelled delicious" to him.
  • When Eda arrives at the Park's and enters through the kitchen window, Luz tells her There Was a Door, to which Willow mentally snarks that Luz never uses the door, either.

Chapter 45: Stranger Danger

Chapter 46: Escape

  • The potion Scabrina gave to Skara to fake being sick with was supposed to get her out of swimming lessons. The potion somehow makes a person very cold and their head hot enough that their hair's on fire.
  • Luz is shocked by the statues talking, yet she has enchanted objects all over her house.
  • The prize Luz, Amity, Cat, and Ameila were after turns out to be chocolate. Luz does complain a bit, but otherwise accepts it.
  • As Luz explains to Cat why she never cuts her hair, an eyeball-spider crawls out of it.
  • The reason Skara realizes she's talking to an impostor is because it doesn't smell like alcohol.
  • The chapter ends with Luz confused that there are little people controlling the mini golf course in Gravity Falls.

Chapter 47: The Book of King

  • To keep King preoccupied so she can keep teaching Eda and Lilith, Luz gives him to Amity, telling her to "take care of the baby" to King's indignation. Amity agrees to it, calling King a kid, to which he remarks that he's older than her before she takes him away suggesting he take a nap.
  • After the song, Lilith says King's going to be the reason everyone going to his original home dies and Hooty says he'll make sure King isn't invited to her funeral if they do. She attempts to question this since they'd both be dead but since it's Hooty, she drops it.

Chapter 48: I Was a Teenage Adult Witch

  • In her only scene in the chapter, Dolly is shown shaking her doll asking her master to respond seemingly unaware he's doing his own thing. It's not much but it's refreshing to see her not being a Smug Snake for once.
  • Teen Eda using baby King as an Improvised Weapon, and Adult Luz briefly getting distracted by how adorable he looks.
    A. Luz: Aw, so that's what he looks like- I mean, calm down!
  • Hooty calling it "business as usual" when he sees Luz and Amity as adults and King as a baby.

Chapter 49: Grandmother Knows Best

  • The fact that Luz had a Goth phase when she was 12. Admit it, the mere thought of this is enough to get a few chuckles out of you.

Chapter 50: Breaking Ties

  • Lilith plays into the usual "older sibling teases younger sibling about their crush" routine by letting everyone know Eda's meeting with Raine, embarrassing her.
    • Even better, Gwendolyn (who supports them) believes Eda's gonna propose to Raine, causing the already flustered Eda to correct her.
  • King becoming increasingly annoyed with the abomi-goblins.
  • With how aggressive the argument between Amity and Odalia got and what happens afterwards, it's easy to miss that one afterthought that came because of it: Odalia was so busy trying to convince Amity to forget about the Clawthornes, she never once made a comment or even noticed Amity re-dyed her hair to a different color!

    Chapters 51- 60

Chapter 51: A Surprising Visitor

  • When Camila learns that Luz and Amity are sleeping in the same bed, she proceeds to give the former The Talk, only to be stopped as she doesn't want to go through it again.

Chapter 52: No Dancing Around

  • When Amity tells Lilith she wants to become a wild witch, she lets out a Big "WHAT?!" that causes them to nearly crash.
  • During Luz and Gus' argument, Mattholomule becomes amazed by Luz's strength in her cambion state... after watching her repeatedly punch a tree hard enough that it eventually falls down.
  • As Amity talks about getting to see all of Earth and travel between realms with Luz, Eda point blank says Amity's pretty much looking forward to marrying Luz one day, leaving the poor girl a blushing mess.
  • The Keeper of the Looking Glass Ruins (who went to take a nap for a few hours) finds the aforementioned ruins in shambles, and begins ranting about it. Luz, Amity and Gus only watch him having a scene confused.

Chapter 53: Whatever Happened to Anu Bist?

  • How does Luz get back at Felicia for outing Amity as a nameless witch? By taping her to the ceiling.

Chapter 54: Socket to Me

  • Apparently, one of Luz and Amity's pre-breakup dates led to them escaping a demon cyclops that can create blood rain. Seriously, how did that even happen?!
  • Since the performance at the Socket has a dress code, Luz and Amity are given formal outfits. It isn't until they arrive and Luz gets a good look at them that she realizes Amber gave them a black suit and a white dress, so they look like newlyweds. Amity doesn't catch on (despite noticing Luz's flustered blush) and Luz leads her to their private box so they don't attract any unwanted attention. Raine later brings it up while Amity's off getting drinks.
Raine: You two look cute together. Like a married-
Luz: (interrupting) Hey, it was Amber's idea to give us these outfits!
  • Luz and Amity decide to go on the Trauma Train, and they end up regretting it.

Chapter 55: Deserve Nothing

  • The entirety of Luz and Cat's conversation is this the moment Cat receives her mouse palisman.
Luz: Huh, I would've thought you'd have a cat palisman.
    Cat: Why'd you think that?
Luz: You know, because your name…?
Cat: Have you ever heard me actually talking about cats? Like, even once?
Luz: (realizes she was stereotyping) Uh, no. But wait, then why are you named Cat?"
Cat: (shrugs) Because my brother was named Dog.
    (Luz is left more confused.)
  • Eve asks for a palisman who can help her avoid all the danger she seems to always get in. Whoever bonds with her will have their work cut out for them.
  • When Amity arrives in Latissa, she goes to Dr. Bride hoping she'll help her save Luz only to find her clinic closed and a sign that reads "Gone Fishing". When Amity asks why anyone would fish in the middle of the night, we see the doc fighting a flounder demon.
  • While heartbreaking, it's still funny that Amity stopped Luz from hurting Hunter...so she can slap and punch him herself.

Chapter 56: Going Through Changes

  • King and Lilith can only shrug when Camila asks if any of them told Ms. Traveler about her. Heck, the fact Julia greeted Camila so casually gets points.
  • To cheer Luz up and keep Camila busy, Eda invites Camila to help her make pixie pies for Luz. Camila's very disturbed from seeing how the pies are made by pounding begging pixies to death with a mallet.
  • Luz questions Shmebulock about how he ended up in the Boiling Isles, but because all he can say is his name, she gets frustrated and scares him off.
  • Sprig's reaction to getting stuck on the Boiling Isles with Anne and Marcy after seeing the portal to Amphibia has closed? "Well, that can't be good."

Chapter 57: No Big Deal

  • When Anne and Hop Pop first meet, they scream back and forth thinking they're gonna eat each other. When they stop and clear the air, Hop Pop casually waves her off, intent on leaving her alone in the woods in the pouring rain.
  • As a Brick Joke, Camila watches as Luz, Amity, Anne and Marcy dig into the pixie pies she and Eda made like "hyenas tearing into zebra flesh."
  • Sprig puts a sizeable dent in Eda's pride when he bluntly says he thought she was Lilith's older sister because of her appearance.
  • Marcy's natural curiosity results in her being completely unfazed from seeing the strange wildlife of the Boiling Isles. Namely, she's amazed by a flying eyeball being eaten by a cat with a candlestick on its head.
  • To the shock of the Mystery Shack group, Old Man McGucket's revealed to be Mildred Featherwhyle, the author of the Good Witch Azura. Soos calls it a heck of a plot twist while Candy notes Luz and Amity would be stunned if they learn this.
    • McGucket confesses the royalty fees are what finance his inventions. Dipper/Mason says it explains a lot.
    • When Pacifica questions why McGucket doesn't sell his inventions instead, he asks if she'd prefer highly dangerous death machines being more accessible to people than young reader fantasy novels. She concedes to his point.
  • Like Jack Skellington, Marcy runs into a pole after finishing her song.
  • Anne and Sprig get into another argument about the time Anne saw the Moss Man and recruited One-Eyed Wally to help her get proof all because Anne saw a statue of the Moss Man originating from the Boiling Isles.
  • Eda's extra trips to the human realm means she's learned possums aren't a myth, and she's been trying to prove their existence to the rest of the Isles with little success.
  • Luz is not pleased when she sees the poorly designed, cross-eyed statue of her cambion form in the Museum of Supernatural History's new human exhibit. She swears she'll show the sculptor eternal damnation for this, unaware of Tibbles holding sculpting tools and walking off in the background.
  • Amusingly, Emira skips out on the sleepover because she doesn't want Viney to see her zits. Her only scene shows her frantically spreading zit scream on her face.
  • The Noodle Incident about Marcy failing to use a hoe properly greatly embarrasses her, to Anne's amusement.
  • The pirates take Steve's coven mirror so he can't call for help... and his shirt for some reason.
  • Belos expressing confusion about Steve's description of Lilith's human friends with glowing hair.

Chapter 58: The Ballad of Eda (Part 1)

Chapter 59: The Ballad of Eda (Part 2)

Chapter 60: Prelude to War (Part 1)

  • A part of Luz's grounding is that she's forbidden from seeing Amity, but when she points out that they live in the same house, Eda decides to have them sleep in separate rooms and continuously thwarts her efforts to talk to Amity.
  • Apparently, Luz doesn't remember Horace, much to his shock.
  • Witch Rick sent Luz a prerecorded message telling her that Belos is planning to make her into a weapon, and as she processes this, Witch Rick reveals to her that the message is rigged to explode. This results in her crushing the recorder, placing a fire glyph on it, and throwing it into a trash can, where it incinerates.

    Chapters 61- 70

Chapter 61: Prelude to War (Part 2)

  • When Luz informs Eda that she knows about Belos' plans for her, her adoptive mother reacts with a Spit Take.

Chapter 62: Prelude to War (Part 3)

  • Dusty takes Beast Bonding too lightly, as the scene shifts away when he screams while a spider bares its fangs at him.
  • The beast Luz has to bond with ends up being the easiest: a flapping red carp fish with horns.
Luz: I think mine's brain dead.
  • Since Camila doesn't know anything about demons, she asks Jane about Prof. Redback's purpose, thinking he's an ordinary gorilla. The professor pouts appalled and Jane explains their relationship: after Camila apologizes, Eda casually says someone had to make that mistake eventually.
  • When Skara asks Luz for romantic advice, she tells her that if she and Willow come across the Trauma Train, they should burn it down.

Chapter 63: The Glandus War: The Invasion

  • Graye once thought that Luz was a child that Eda and Raine had in secret, despite the fact that Luz is a human.
  • The fact that Lilith doesn't remember Craig, much to his annoyance.
  • Once again, Professor Snope sleeps through the drama going on around him and he gets captured as a result.

Chapter 64: The Glandus War: Turning Point

  • After meeting Asi, Luz at first assumes that he's Ms. Torigore's neighbor.

Chapter 65: The Glandus War: Masks Off

  • After all it took to bring Grease down, it takes Kadabe knocking him out with a bowling ball to do the trick.

Chapter 66: The Glandus War: What is it Good For?

  • Before being sent to go after Luz and Amity, Meteora was in the middle of teaching a class of Fae, who are still there in the present, not that they mind.
  • Luz sticking her tongue out at her is enough to send Emily off the edge and crazily declare vengeance while she's being arrested.
  • Stella's been using her middle name instead of her real name, "Glinda"; Word of God says it's because it's sounds old.
  • Ms. Traveler requests Kitsuni to ask Mai if she's interested in attending Hexside, which she agrees to, then says "wait, what?".
  • When Luz negotiates with Maya about sleeping arrangements, Maya says she won't bug her and Amity, but the fact that she calls them sharing a bed "lustful deeds" leaves the girls feeling embarrassed.

Chapter 67: After the War

  • Luz, completely done with conflict after the war, tells Faust of all people to fuck off when he calls them, thinking he's another enemy declaring revenge on her family. Eda and Lilith are understandably terrified by this.
    • After hearing that Faust is now acting principal while Bump recovers, Luz lets Maya take control of her body to freak out over the fact that she may have screwed herself as a result of this.
Luz: (panicking in her mindscape) FUCK, FUCK, FUUUCK! I am in deep shit right now!
  • Luz and friends decide to celebrate the formation of their anti-Belos club by partying at Geist's and putting their orders on Edric an Emira's tab, much to the twins' surprise.
Ed and Em: Wait, our tab?
  • Elliot's first choice that he made on his own without somebody telling him what to do... is to eat death pepper laced griffin wings.
  • As Emira and Viney are about to kiss, Hooty devours the latter and leaves. Em opens her eyes and notices that her girlfriend disappeared, not seeing everybody else's shocked expressions.
    • Luz, Willow and Gus see the whole thing, and Luz tells the others to ignore it because it's safer if they don't get involved in that plotline.

Chapter 68: Understanding Odalia

  • Willie the Giant sued Scrooge for theft, and won.

Chapter 69: That's the Way the Cookie Crumbles

  • After asking Skara for a moment alone, Willow tells Nina as dark and sweetly as she can that she better behave or she'll deal with her over Faust and the Emperor's Coven. Nina, who had been skeptical of Willow because of Emily, is genuinely terrified of her.
  • Luz and Nina get in each other's faces when they see each other in Beast Keeping class, only for Jane to stop them. When Nina leaves with everyone for an outdoor period, Luz voices annoyance that Nina's muscling in on her title as Hexside's toughest girl, which causes Skara and Viney to exchange looks.

Chapter 70: Tragedy at Eclipse Lake

  • It turns out that Kikimora has been trying to get her old job back, by spying on the Clawthornes, with little success.
    • Kiki tries to plant another rusty smidge, but Hooty gets in the way, thinking that she has a food offering.
    • She pretends to be a house inspector to get inside the Owl House, only to get punched upward by an abomi-fist from Amity.
    • She hides herself in a present, King and Hooty impale it with pins, and then proceed to saw it in half.

    Chapters 71- 80

Chapter 71: The Hunting Witch

  • When Dell first tries to meet his granddaughter, Eda pretends that there are coven scouts nearby so they can bail, much to 8-year-old Luz's confusion.

Chapter 72: Escape from Gatesfield

  • Willow is genuinely intimidated by Jacob Hopkins at first until he says he'll stop her "martian plans", which makes her give him a confused look.
  • What's Dana and Rudo's plan to get Masha out of jail? Dress up as her parents and bail her out themselves, with Dana being the dad while Rudo's the mom. The following conversation, Rudo just agrees with Dana's logic on why they're doing it that way.
Rudo: Why do I have to be the mom?
Dana: Because you have the hair for it.
Rudo: Oh yeah, that makes sense.
    • When Gus G. questions what the two are doing, Dana says nothing while Rudo performs a Suspiciously Specific Denial which earns him a hit on the arm. Gus continues on his way confused and Rudo believes he doesn't suspect a thing.
    • When the two enact their plan, Officer Barns completely falls for their disguises (Dana's isn't even good, she just has a pipe and fake moustache) while Andrews tears them off just as Masha's parents actually arrive, which gets them put in Masha's cell.
Masha: Guys, what's with the getup?
Rudo: Trying to save you from prison food.
Andrews: (deadpan sigh) They don't pay me enough for this.
  • Amity does a Spit Take the moment Luz appears in the reflection of the river she's drinking from.

Chapter 73: Viva Last Vegans!

  • The chapter's title starts it off, on account of Gus' continuing mispronunciation of Las Vegas.

Chapter 74: Hexing Out for a Hero

  • Skara walks in on Nina taking a tongue bath, getting disgusted as Nina tells her to get out of her room.
  • When Nina questions why Luz and Skara met in secret, Luz pulls a Your Mom insult on the werecat, and poor Skara's stuck in the middle as the two glare at each other. Edric and Viney both comment on the inevitable bloodshed that will occur between the two girls.
  • Donna has Beocrow put on a hammy presentation with her when recruiting Luz into LOWTH. Luz turns them down both because she isn't interested in being a hero (seeing herself as an Anti-Hero) and she thinks Donna is dressed like a showgirl.
Donna: (gasps) S-Showgirl? This is a superhero costume! Well okay, it's made from my gymnast leotard, but it's practical!
Luz: I mean, if you like to go around with no pants on, that's your business.
Donna: (feeling personally attacked) You... you don't have to say it like that...

Chapter 75: Amity in Echo Creek

  • Marco has a lot of Butt-Monkey moments in this chapter.

    • When he vents about Jeremy to Amity and says they're rivals, Amity points out how Jeremy's Just a Kid and that it's sad if Marco's jealous of him and not the other way around. It doesn't help that Janna and Jackie razz him about it to embarrass him further.
    • After Jackie take Amity to meet Brigid, he attempts to strike up a conversation with Janna only for her to immediately knock him out by saying "chicken butt".
    • He also doesn't hear Ghost snark back about his intellect since he can't understand her.
  • It's both funny and adorable how Amity's completely drawn in by anything she learns about humans, whether it be Gustav's incorrect facts about Scandanavia or the incredibly boring Mud Pits, coming up with several theories about why they're popular and finding it fascinating even after Janna says it's "just a pit full of mud".
  • Gustav is shown being blackmailed by Janna for the Diazes' measurements in exchange for keeping his Fauxreigner secret. When he asks why she wants them, she says not to asks questions he doesn't want answers to, which makes him gulp.

This is compared to Veronica, who as Florella has a Garden Garment for a uniform, and Tyrone who goes shirtless as Minos.

  • Amity brings up having recently gone through Hell so casually, Clara responds with a Flat "What".
  • Amity and Clara's conversation about sexual orientation gets some laughs for the Lame Pun Reaction that results from it.
Clara: Um... do you like girls, Amity? Y'know, since you're dating Luz.
Amity: Yeah, I have a preference for girls. I am what you would call, a "Luzbian". (Clara blinks). You know, like a play on words to Luz and my sexuality as a lesbian…

So I hit him, then I hit him using his glasses, ruffed him up a little, and tied him to a rocket that sent him all the way to Palm Stings. [sees everyone's shocked reactions] That was during my aggressive times...
Nina: Geez, Luz, and I thought I was too extreme.
Cross: ...How are you not checked in*?
  • As everyone watches Cross and Zee argue about the latter forcing her brother to get a girlfriend, Willow declares she's glad to be an only child, and Lambi agrees with her. Cross: Why can't it be done without it being an adventure?

Tarak: Tell Bill I said hi.
Luz: Still not calling him that!
