This is discussed in her third unit episode, when Alk and Stella frantically try to get her assistance after finding a dragon egg in the middle of hatching; Rams reveals that the Ancients are completely different from dragons in other worlds, as they do not reproduce via eggs, and she is thus at a loss for what to do.

When the heroes actually do get to the Administrator, Regis then reappears and pulls a Big Damn Heroes moment, revealing that he really was with the heroes all along and he needed to pretend to betray them to keep suspicion off him.

  • Cool Old Guy: Taiga may be old but his skills and experience make him a great fighter.
  • Feeling Their Age: Taiga tends to complain about being "too old for this" which is his main motivator to pass down his knowledge.
  • The Mentor: Wishes to become this to pass down his techniques to finally being able to retire, when he proposes Nimbus to be his disciple to which the catfolk says it's too early for Taiga to throw the towel.
    • Nimbus's Flipperversary variant shows that he accepted the offer, though they aren't on the same page yet so it will take time for Taiga to fully pass all his techniques.

New Year's Variant

Rarity: 4*
Role: Supporter
Class: Bruiser
Leader Talent: Future Outlook
Skill: Feline Gentleman

  • Dub Name Change: Zig-zagged. His original Japanese name is simply "Kuro," meaning "black/dark"; similar to Nimbus, his name was changed entirely in the localization to Claudius, with "Claw" being a nickname. Though the meanings as wildly different, "Claw" and "Kuro" sound rather phonetically similar, which could explain the change.
  • El Cid Ploy: Claw's entire plan to bring peace to Fang Canyon banks on using Nimbus as his token, as Nimbus bears an eerie resemblance to the lost son of the late King Whitetail, Selenius Whitetail. By claiming that Nimbus is Selenius and that he wants peace between the two races, he hopes to trick the king of the dogfolk into signing the peace treaty and ending the war. Later subverted, as it's revealed that Nimbus really is Selenius Whitetail.
  • Sheep in Sheep's Clothing: His penchant for sweet-talking and his rather pragmatic game plan immediately make the party suspicious of his motives, and they repeatedly pin him as untrustworthy since his plan involves him playing chessmaster to manipulate two nations into ending a war. In the end it's revealed that Claw really is as good as he (and Albert) says he is, and the party ultimately pulls through for him and the rest of his world by helping end the war.
