Main Character

     Han Yoojin

Han Yoojin

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/20211116_072031.jpg
The Protagonist.

He's officially only an F-Rank Hunter, but with his S+ rank skills he might be functionally more like an A-Rank.
  • Adaptation Expansion: The manhwa delves deeper into his days before his regression, from how he worked before the dungeons appeared, to his life as an F-Rank for hire.
  • Adaptational Heroism: Most if not all of his anti-Japanese rants and inner thoughts have been removed in the Manhwa adaptation.
  • Adaptation Personality Change: Downplayed. It's not entirely change, but it's noticeably different for Novel reader. Yoojin in the manhwa is goofier compared to his novel counterpart.
  • Affectionate Nickname: The System calls him "Honey" although that may be a way to hide his identity from other entities who may want to stop what is going on.
  • Big Brother Instinct: Towards his people, especially the younger ones under his care.
  • Big Brother Worship: Inverted, he sees his brother as a sweet boy and worried about the other guild leaders picking on him since he was the youngest. He does acknowledge that Yoohyun isn't entirely innocent to have become a guild head, but chooses to stand by him.
  • Blessed with Suck: His "Final Thank" Power Copying ability has no limit to the stats the skills it can copy and also copy twice the amount of effectiveness of the original owner along with all of their memory to utilize it. However, the target has to be under his protection and has to die to allow him to activate this ability, something that would be very traumatic for him due to the copying of their memory. This power has led him to fall into heavy depression before the time reset to the point that Yoohyun had to send people to drag him out to rehab.
  • The Caretaker: Certainly one of the best. Apparently, he's the only one with Perfect Caregiver title.
  • Damsel in Distress: Played deliberately. When some of the others start to catch on that he seems to know more than he should be able to, he immediately pretends to be helpless.
  • Doting Parent:
    • In the manhwa during his job, he gushes over Yoohyun to his co-workers and praises Yoohyun in a way that's similar to a parent showing off their kid.
    • He regularly praises and mentors Yerim after becoming her legal guardian despite their significant difference in stats. They also regularly have meals together.
    • He refers to himself as the father of the monsters he raises, even referring to them as his children. He can get very protective of his kids and is suspicious of those who don't think they're cute. His lockscreen is even a photo of Peace and Chirpie.
  • Drowning My Sorrows: His "Final Thanks" ability allows him to copy the memory of the person who is in his custody when they die, including the moment where they are killed. This, coupled with the general trauma of being in a dungeon filled with monsters, led him to become severely depressed and fall into alcoholism before the timeline reset to the point that his brother had to order people to drag him to rehab. With the timeline reset, he no longer do this because less people he loves die and having a much stronger support network.
  • Equipment-Based Progression: In order to make up for his low F-class, he buys or is gifted high grade items that boost him up to at least C-class so long as he wears them.
  • Fearless Fool: Played with. Yoojin looks this way to most outsiders (especially those like Suk Simyeong), given his ability to wrangle the otherwise terrifying S-Class Rankers and monsters he's surrounded by. In reality, while he's technically immune to Fear effects (and seemingly most normal causes of fear) thanks to his Legendary Class Fear Resistance, there are times he feels fear, he's just able to react to those times a lot more calmly than most people would be able to (plus he feels the occasional bit of Existential Horror when considering his pre-regression life and the possiblity that he might fail to prevent it from happening, especially as he learns more about what he's up against...). He's also a lot more crafty than his Damsel in Distress act would have you believe.
  • Fluffy Tamer: Yoojin is an excellent beast tamer post-regression.
  • Giver of Lame Names: Let's see... We have Peace, Chirpie, Blue, Whitey, Blackie...
  • Good Is Not Soft: He's ruthless towards the enemy.
  • Groundhog Peggy Sue: After getting sent back seven years into the past, he still holds all of the knowledge he had before regressing. This makes him a big target of interest of the people in power.
  • Hates Their Parent: Subverted. Despite their Parental Neglect, Yoojin still loves them. He grieved after their death.
  • The Heart: He serves as the emotional center for his core group, keeping the various strong personalities naturally come with being an S-Ranker in check. Whenever he is hurt or in danger, everyone in the group either drop everything they are doing to help him or spending their time worrying sick about him.
  • Heroic Self-Deprecation: Have a major one ever since pre-regression event.
  • I Just Want to Be Normal: Not really about himself, but more towards his brother. He just want for Yoohyun to have a normal happy life, going to school and making friends rather than as a guild leader who fight in dungeon with unknown danger.
  • In-Series Nickname:
    • He's called "hyung-nim" (big brother) by Hyunah. This gets funnier when you know that in Korea, girls are supposed to call boys older than them "oppa" rather than "hyung", so it's clear that Hyunah call him "hyung" to tease Yoohyun.
    • The System refers to him as "honey".
  • Mental Time Travel: His "regression" sent his mind back in time, but not his body.
  • Mister Seahorse: Not literally pregnant. his children aren't even human. But at first, Yoojin do nurture them inside his body, using his caretaker/custodian skill.
  • My God, What Have I Done?: Attempts to commit suicide in a dungeon so Yoohyun wouldn't have to keep picking up after his messes. However, his brother instead protects him and urges him to leave the dungeon as Yoojin gains his powers. This moment left him with deep guilt and regret at getting his brother killed and he uses his wish to go back in time to avoid this fate.
  • My Greatest Failure: Yoojin think the death of Yoohyun in his previous life as this. It lead him to think his regression as...
  • My Greatest Second Chance: After witnessing his little brother die for him, he uses his wish to be sent back before he started to apply for dungeon jobs so he wouldn't repeat his mistakes. When he realizes his wish came true and his brother is alive, he immediately hugs him in relief.
  • My Life Flashed Before My Eyes: Subverted. If whoever he puts under his "care" dies, he sees flashes of their past memories up until the exact moment they die. He does get nightmares of Inky's death after it was killed for nearly a week.
  • Never Gets Drunk: Played with. It's only because of his poison resistance skill so as long as it's active, he can drink bottles of soju and be fine.
  • Nice Guy: Nice and polite to everyone except the ones he dislikes, or treats his pets badly.
  • Non-Action Guy: Yoojin is really weak, given his rank as an F-class leaves his stats nothing to write home about, even after gaining his Dragon Slayer Title. His expertise lays in another field, which he soon comes to accept and actually enjoy.
  • No Badass to His Valet: He has an L-Rank resist fear skill that let him to be fearless in the face of all the S-Rank and below characters or monsters. This is explained to be why so many S-Rank characters so naturally open up to him. In a world where S-Rankers are basically Physical God and inspire either admiration or fear, someone who not only treats them as equal but willingly becomes a parental nurture figure to them is incredibly appealing to pledge affection to. A flashback reveals that this goes back to his childhood when he was the only one who was not only not intimidated by his younger brother but actively took care of him.
  • No-Sell:
    • Thanks to the skills he got from slaying the dragon, he has S-Rank Fear Resistance, making him immune to be scared. He uses this against the Dokkaebi to win their bet.
    • He has an L-Rank Poison Resistance and Curse Resistance skill, so basically any poisons and curses in the setting would bounce off him.
  • Obfuscating Stupidity: In order to not show he's a regressor or that he knows more than he lets on, he pretends to play dumb for the most part.
  • Papa Wolf: When he and Peace get kidnapped, he goes on a fairly calm rampage when going to rescue Peace.
  • Parental Abandonment: They died in accident. But, even before that, Yoohyun himself notes that their parents only rejected Yoohyun and loved Yoojin. However Yoojin refused to abandon Yoohyun and thus their parents shunned them both and weren't even feel a slight of guilt about it.
  • Parental Substitute: Yoojin is this for Yoohyun.
  • Power Copying: His "Final Thank" ability allows him to copy twice the stats and abilities of the target under his protection... after they died. And this only last for a certain duration.
  • Promotion to Parent:
    • Due to Parental Neglect, Yoojin raised Yoohyun himself by the time Yoohyun was in kindergarten. Then when their parents ended up dying, he became the sole provider for his little brother.
    • He also became Yerim's legal guardian after her debut arc due to her previous guardian after her parents died is her abusive uncle.
  • Protective Charm: His resistance skills act like this, leaving him immune to being scared or poisoned. In a literal sense, Sung Hyunjae eventually gifts Yoojin with earrings that surround him with a protective force field.
  • Roaring Rampage of Revenge: Pre-regression, just after Yoohyun's death. Also count as Unstoppable Rage.
  • Squishy Wizard: Despite all of his amazing support skills in and out of combat, his durability, mobility and offense are basically the same as a civilian outside of his Final Thanks passive (which require someone in his party to die and can only be active in limited time) as well as his curse and poison resistance, leading him to be easily be overpowered by physical strikes or be blown to bit by the energy other hunters or monsters can exude. He is acutely aware of this and has been seeking items to improve his durability so he can actually use his support skills.
  • Supporting Protagonist: A very good one. He was initially let down that his skill was only support, but soon comes to embrace his role and how it helps the others around him.
  • Team Mom: He is gentle, also takes care and worry a lot to people around him. Well, except for the people he doesn't like. For those who he connects to, they see Yoojin as one of their parental figures, such as the Dokkaebi and their grandmother or Kim Sunghan and his grandfather.
  • Trigger Phrase: He can activate his powers by saying, "Cheer up". After killing the dragon and leveling up, the phrase has changed to, "I love you", something he's not as fond of saying aloud.
  • Willfully Weak: He pretends to be weak so he doesn't rouse suspicions over his extensive knowledge as a hunter pre-regression. He still has terrible stats as an F-rank, but when he's given time to plan and has the right equipment on, he's able to solo an F-rank dungeon on his own.

Abyss Guild

     Han Yoohyun

Han Yoohyun

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/img_20220121_090822.jpg
Yoojin's younger brother, an S-Rank Hunter, and the leader of the Haeyeon Guild. When Yoojin regresses, he's 20 years old.
  • The Ace: Before the dungeons appeared, he was apparently a star student and had plans on going to medical school to become a doctor so he could look after his brother. Post-dungeons appearing he's the youngest guild master in the area.
  • Aloof Big Brother: Inverted, he's aloof little brother who become mild only in front of his big brother.
  • Anger Born of Worry: Since the timeline reset, he is no longer distanced from Yoojin, but his worries are express through anger (often to a murderous degree) instead whenever Yoojin is hurt, captured or threatened. This is deconstructed throughout the series in several ways:
    • His anger and reckless decisions in order to protect Yoojin have driven Yoojin to keep secrets from him to not let him worry. This has, in turn, fueled his anger even more for resenting that Yoojin kept secrets from him to the point that he thought of faking Yoojin's death by cutting his arm off and confining him rather than seeing his big brother potentially getting hurt continuously.
    • His anger at Peace for being a dangerous beast that can accidentally hurt his brother has led to him to becoming distanced to his supposed future mount and delegating all of the caretaking and bonding to Yoojin. The two of them do not have any kind of bond until after Sung Hyunjae threatens to kidnap Yoojin and they go to solo clear an S-Rank dungeon together.
  • Because You Were Nice to Me: The reason why Yoohyun is extremely close to his older brother and not his parents. As a child, he was outcast and ignored by them thanks to his emotionless state (even as a toddler), with only his older brother going out of his way to support him. At one point, he went out into the snow to be left alone, only for Yoojin to come rushing towards him to comfort his little brother. That act, along with Yoojin's endless support throughout the years, is what led Yoohyun's Big Brother Worship in return.
  • Big Brother Worship: He is always ready to compliment or boost up his brother after the other had turned back time.
  • Big Little Brother: He is a lot taller than Yoojin, his big brother by 5 years.
  • Blood Magic: He can create a weapon from his own blood.
  • Break His Heart to Save Him: He treated his brother coldly and distantly so his enemies wouldn't realize how much he truly loved him and go after him. This ended up backfiring as this ended up getting Yoohyun killed and Yoojin going back in time to prevent this.
  • Crazy Jealous Guy: He feel this every time Yoojin giving affection to other people, but he often hold it back.
  • Died in Your Arms Tonight: He dies being held by his brother, after using the last of his strength to give him a teleporting stone that would safely send him out of the dungeon.
  • Easily Forgiven: NOT really happened, but IMPLIED for Yoojin if Yoohyun ever do anything bad. The only reason Yoojin won't allow Yoohyun to, let's say, hypothetically destroy the world, is because Yoojin doesn't want his little brother to live alongside the ruins.
  • Entitled to Have You: Yoohyun is unwilling to have Han Yoojin share his affections with others that are not him.
  • Heroic Sacrifice: Pre-regression, for his big brother. It's still the same in the post-regression timeline as well, but Yoojin gets traumatised when he does this and makes sure he can make Yoohyun avoid that same fate.
  • Impaled with Extreme Prejudice: How he died pre-regression. Being stabbed through by a dragon attack to protect his elder brother.
  • Jerkass to One: Inverted. He's pretty indifferent to everyone but his hyung, who he becomes a completely different person around. When Yoojin tells the other guild heads that his brother was an angel, they all immediately lose their professional composure and burst out into laughter.
  • Knight Templar Big Brother: Inverted, he's the Knight Templar Little Brother.
  • Mighty Glacier: Before discovering the creative use of Blue Willow to shorten the gap, he has absolutely no vertical mobility.
  • My Sister Is Off-Limits: Gender-inverted. He gets incredibly hostile towards anyone who seems to have an interest towards his brother, no matter who.
  • Not Quite Flight: His power Blue Willow Leaves that causes said leaves to materialize in front of him are solid enough to walk on. In his past he used this to gain access to the sky, allowing him a form of aerial combat. In Yoojin's regression, he has to point out this skill to Yoohyun, who's happy to have an ability close enough to flight.
  • Parents as People: Yoohyun feels apathetic towards his parents. There's no love or hate.
  • Plot-Triggering Death: It's due to Yoohyun's death that Yoojin goes back in time to stop this from happening that the story really begins.
  • Poor Communication Kills: Him not telling Yoojin the reason he was so distant and cold towards him once dungeons started to appear. When this lead to Yoojin attempting to get himself killed, Yoohyun sacrifices himself to protect his brother. It's due to the poor communication between brothers that Yoojin manages to salvage their relationship by going back in time. It's also later that Yoohyun confesses to his brother that he had too many enemies and didn't want them realizing his big brother was his weakness and go after him.
  • Supreme Chef: Cooks his own food in order to detoxify and heal himself, also to avoid getting poisoned. This was to avoid repeating an incident where someone had tried to poison him. He ended up killing those people who made that attempt, with the other guilds helping to cover it up.
  • Tall, Dark, and Handsome: He is tall, have a black hair, black eye, and often seen wearing dark monochrome colors such as black and grey. Finally, he is especially handsome, acknowledged in-universe.
  • Teeth-Clenched Teamwork: His and Yerim's relationship can be described as this. It takes Yoonjin actively reminding them to act like teammates for them to even be able to work together. Hilariously, it's only when Yoojin is genuinely in danger do they actively cooperate with one another.
  • When He Smiles: He rarely smiles, only really occurring around his brother, Yoojin. It's apparently so rare that when he smiles on camera, the camera people take this as a sign of good luck and start yelling about buying stocks.
  • Yandere: Has shades of this and almost committed to it. He once thought of faking Yoojin's death and confining him rather than seeing his big brother potentially getting hurt continuously. Yoojin snapped him out of it.
  • Young and in Charge: He's the youngest guildmaster around, and his older peers both admire and fear his strength.

     Kim Sunghan

Kim Sunghan

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/img_20220121_091139.jpg
An A-Rank awakened person loyal to Yoohyun. In his 30's. Yoohyun tasks him with being Yoojin's bodyguard. He later upgrades to an S-Rank after the defeat of Bhabar.
  • Barrier Warrior: He has one of the most potent shields in the series and deploys it frequently to protect himself and Yoojin.
  • Bodyguarding a Badass: He plays this role for Yoojin, although he doesn't know Yoojin can basically take care of himself. He does it partly out of Yoohyun's orders, and due to growing a fondness for Yoojin who reminds him of his late grandfather.
  • Hunk: Has a big and muscular body, and serves as Yoohyun's right hand man.
  • Muscles Are Meaningful: He's incredibly bulked up and his skill allows him to block damage hitting his teammates. He's also able to easily shrug off knife stabs with no scratch on him.
  • Put on a Bus: After his S-Rank awakening, he was promoted to be in charge of a guide of his former ex-fiance and thus promptly disappear from the main storyline.
  • Parental Abandonment: He was apparently abandoned by his parents, leaving his grandfather as his sole parental figure. He doesn't hold anything against his parents and dearly loved his grandfather.
  • Raised by Grandparents: Was raised by his grandfather after his parents had apparently abandoned him. This is the reason why he becomes so attached to Yoojin, whose drunken ramblings reminds him of his late grandfather.
  • Stone Wall: He is mentioned repeatedly to have extremely great defensive stats and skills but have no offensive skills. This is the reason why he was chosen to be Yoojin's bodyguard until his upgrade to an S-Ranker.
  • Took a Level in Badass: Downplayed. He starts the series as an A-Rank, so he is quite formidable already. After the defeat of the Bhabar toad boss, he fulfilled his upgrade conditions and becomes an S-Rank Awakened being.
  • Undying Loyalty: Towards Yoohyun and Haeyeon Guild.

     Yoo Myeongwoo

Yoo Myeongwoo

An F-Rank with the potential for a SS-Rank weapon modification skill.
  • Affectionate Nickname: After eating his delicious cooking, Yerim starts referring to Myeongwoo with the honorific of "oppa".
  • Alliterative Name: Yoo Myeongwoo.
  • Because You Were Nice to Me: The main reason why Myeongwoo is so loyal to Yoojin, who never looked down on him for being of low rank and did everything in his power to give him a better life. Even after knowing that Yoojin lied about their friendship history, Myeongwoo points out he never would have gotten where he was if Yoojin hadn't believed in him.
Yoo Myeongwoo: Even if you had deceived me, it doesn’t matter.
    Han Yoojin: …Huh?
Yoo Myeongwoo: Yoojin, if you had lied, then I would reply ‘thank you for deceiving me’.
  • The Blacksmith: His SS-skill allowed him to craft any weapon and armor that enhance the user's abilities.
  • Driven to Suicide: He awakened after attempting to do this.
  • Extreme Doormat: It's easy to see how he probably didn't get too far in life as he's able to be pushed around by everyone around him. Yoojin even wonders if he had not made it this far before the regression.
  • Nice Guy: He's incredibly kind if a bit scared to be of any real help in an actual fight.
  • Non-Action Guy: While trying to level up the usual way, he soon finds out he's not really cut out to be on the field. He soon finds his calling as a blacksmith and makes high grade items instead.
  • Nothing but Skin and Bones: Played with. In the manhwa before Yoojin found him, he clearly wasn't looking after himself. Yoojin and Kim Sunghan even note how skinny Myeongwoo looks. After gaining some confidence in himself and awakening his SS abilities, he looks much healthier.
  • Prone to Tears: When Yoojin first meets him Myeongwoo can easily be sent into tears, mainly due to his low self-esteem.
  • Real Men Cook: He's placed under Yoojin's care as the "housekeeper" who usually cooks meals for Yoojin. This is a role he doesn't really mind and enjoys it. It helps that his cooking is also delicious.
  • Self-Harm: When he awakened, he had been cutting himself.
  • Shrinking Violet: Downplayed. He's kind of a quiet person who lacks confidence. After he got the SS-Rank forged/weapon modification skill, he's grown more confident. He even uses his status as the sole forger in the world to implicitly threaten anyone who would want to hurt Yoojin.
  • Supreme Chef: His cooking is delicious as Yoojin and Yerim have noted. Yerim instantly turns to calling him "oppa" after tasting his food when she had been treating him coldly earlier.
  • Ultimate Blacksmith: He finds out his skill is ultimately this with help from Yoojin and the Abyss guild. After fully awakening his skills, he's able to access a pocket dimension forge where he can go and do his work.
  • Undying Loyalty: Kind of, towards Yoojin.

     Bak Yerim

Bak Yerim

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/img_20220121_092825.jpg
A fifteen year-old girl who had become a powerful ice combat magician before Yoojin's regression. Yoojin uses his skill to Awaken her and helps her escape her uncle.
  • An Ice Person: Known for her powerful ice abilities, and was even called the "Ice Witch" pre-regression.
  • Because You Were Nice to Me: The reason her abilities were able to awaken and why she strives to become a strong guild member for Yoonin.
  • The Baby of the Bunch: She is the youngest character among the main cast and is usually treated like a child despite being a formidable S-Ranker.
  • Child Soldier: She's just a 15-year old girl, but already became a hunter and fights in dungeons.
  • Combo Platter Powers: Aside from her ice powers, she also has a burst of movement on air ability, a shadows manipulation ability and the ability to see the memories of dead people.
  • Does Not Know His Own Strength: When she first awakens her S abilities, she can barely swat a fly or open a door without accidentally breaking something else in the process.
  • Dull Eyes of Unhappiness: How she looked pre-regression. In Yoojin's new timeline she's more cheerful and peppy.
  • Expository Hairstyle Change: After being recruited for the guilds, her stylists chops her long hair into a Boyish Short Hair. This shows how she's become a completely different person than when she was in her pre-regression timeline where her hair was still long.
  • Lightning Bruiser: She has high mobility due to her Hermes's Sandals skill and high single and Area of Effect damage skills.
  • Parental Neglect: A victim of this by her uncle. He took all of the money left to her by her parents for his terrible restaurant. Neglected any care towards her such as buying her actual clothes that fit or gifted her a decent umbrella. This is one of the reasons she quickly grows fond of Yoojin.
  • Squishy Wizard: Despite her amazing offensive and mobility skills along with a great buff / debuff skill, she only has an ice shield defensive skill that would prevent her from casting any offensive skill and lacks formal close range combat training. This leads to her having a difficult time when she cannot use her offensive skills in full capacity or when she has to face an S-Rank opponent who is close range or managed to poison her like Noah.
  • Teeth Clenched Team Work: Her relationship with Yoohyun could be summarized as this, as the two only play nice when Yoojin's around to remind them to be teammates. The only time they work in genuine partnership was when Yoojin was kidnapped.
  • When She Smiles: She didn't smile much pre-regression, but Yoojin finds out she actually looks really pretty when she smiles more in his new timeline.

Jupiter Guild

     Sung Hyunjae

Sung Hyunjae

Sung Hyunjae is the leader of Seseong Guild and he is one of the rarest born S-class awakeners in the world. He's close to Han Yoohyun and in interested in Han Yoojin.

  • Chain Pain: His powers manifest as long chains that he uses to wrap up foes or attack them.
  • Character Development: He starts off as a conniving and cold man who's only interested in Yoojin as a special "item" for him to have. He does grow out of this and comes to appreciate Yoojin as more of a person, so don't worry.
  • Entitled to Have You: He refers to Yoojin as his item... Enough said.

  • Insufferable Genius: A bit downplayed, but he's self-absorbed, and he do have the ability to back-up.

  • Large and in Charge: He's the leader of Seseong Guild, and really tall (197cm according to wiki).
  • Manipulative Bastard
  • Mysterious Past: Not much is known about his past, and anything about his heritage is treated as pure speculation.
  • Older Than They Look: He's near 40s but still looks like still he's in his 20s.
  • Xanatos Speed Chess: As soon as his plans with Noah went south, he immediately pivots into manipulating Yoojin into a debt to him.

     Kang Soyoung

Kang Soyoung

An A-Rank British woman who is a part of the Seseong guild. She isn't of Korean descent but has Korean citizenship.
  • Dragon Rider: Her special skill is to be able to ride any dragon. Though sadly it isn't often for her to encounter dragon, and the eggs being monitored under the Jupiter guild have a low chance of giving her the type of dragon she wants. Until Riette and Noah came, with Riette take a liking for her.
  • Nice Girl: Is openly friendly towards Yoojin and helps him find a large space for Peace to play in and feel safe.
  • Secret Relationship: In the past, there were rumors spreading that she and Yoohyun were secretly in a relationship with each other. Given who Yoohyun is, those rumors are highly unlikely to be true, but Yoojin thinks the two would actually become a couple this time around.

Unaffiliated Awakeners

     Dokkaebi
A mysterious figure who has the ability to teleport at whim.
  • Alliterative Name: His name is apparently "Yoon Yoon".
  • Ambiguous Gender: Played with. The Dokkaebi doesn't really have a specified gender, but are referred to with male pronouns.
  • Damned by Faint Praise: Yoojin quickly finds out that the quickest way to get this guy compliant is to stroke his ego.
  • Expressive Mask: His dokkaebi mask in the manhwa adaptation moves like a normal face when he emotes, showing his expressions without the need to show his whole face.
  • In-Series Nickname: He's called a dokkaebi as the Korean term for demons, a name he happily dons.
  • Malevolent Masked Men: Downplayed. The most he does is pull pranks to scare people, but he's considered a hero as he had saved multiplied people's lives with his ability.
  • Manchild: When he doesn't get his way or he loses, he starts throwing tantrums, cries and even whines too Yoojiin when he loses their bet.
  • Mystical White Hair: He has long white hair, as he reveals that he was awakened in a dungeon after sleeping for hundreds of years.
  • Teleportation: His ability, which allows him to travel to just about anywhere wherever he wants.
  • Vague Age: He even admits himself that he's simultaneously three years old yet hundreds of years old.

     Noah Luire

Noah Luire

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/noah_luire_official.png
A French S-class hunter and the former leader of Ark Guild. He was born as an A-Class, but fue to his older sister's tyrannical way of nurturing, he overworked himself and become an S-Class. Later, he become Yoojin's bodyguard.

  • Hair of Gold, Heart of Gold: He has a blonde hair and he is a kind and polite boy.
  • Healing Hands: He can heal. The trope's name also was directly the name of one of his skill.
  • Not Quite Human: He is a half-dragon, like his sister.
  • Shrinking Violet: Downplayed. Notably, he often doesn't speaking for himself even though he is a S-Class Hunter.
  • Sibling Yin-Yang: We have the more timid and polite one, Noah, and loud Riette 'I-do-what-I-want'. Also compared to his sister who is darker than him, he has fair skin and blond hair.
  • Spanner in the Works: Sung Hyunjae planned to use him both to win favor with Yoojin as well as serving as an assassin to kill off the non-awakened and low-ranked members of the other guides to create a power vacuum. However, his arrest and subsequence exposure to the public his ability to transform into a dragon, then defects to Yoojin and disbands his guide has promptly put a stop to that.
  • Trauma Button: Riette.
  • Undying Loyalty: Towards Yoojin. He gest really attached to him because it seems Yoojin is the first person to reassure and sincerely compliment him.
  • "Well Done, Son" Guy: Later, he likes to seek Yoojin's praise and approval because of his inferiority complex.
  • Weredragon: Thanks to him and his sister defeating twin dragons, they gain the ability to turn into one.
  • You Are Better Than You Think You Are: Receiving this and other compliments from Yoojin.

     Riette Luire

Riette Luire

A freelance S-rank Hunter from France and Noah's older sister.
  • Ambiguously Brown: She has dark skin and dark hair.
  • Ambiguously Human: After taking down the Dio Valshesis dragon, she's gained skills and abilities that make her more inclined to dragconic preferences than a humans.
  • Aw, Look! They Really Do Love Each Other: For all the trauma and insult Riette gave towards Noah, she DO care for him sincerely.
  • Big Sister Bully: Played with and taken up to the eleven. Riette was aware that she's harsh with Noah, but she did it out of 'goodwill', of course for her standard. Though, Yoojin didn't take that reason after seeing Noah's a bit severe trauma.
  • Childish Older Sibling: Despite being the eldest of the two, she has her share of immature moments.
  • The Dreaded: For Noah. He has a trauma over her "nurturing" skill.
  • The Hedonist: She did most things according to her own whims and often doesn't take no as an answer.
  • Promotion to Parent
  • Sibling Yin-Yang: We have the more timid and polite one, Noah, and loud Riette 'I-do-what-I-want'. In terms of appearances, she's darker in skin-tone and hair compared to her fair skinned brother.
  • Spartan Sibling
  • A Threesome Is Hot: Downplayed. It's not like she get turned on from it, but she doesn't mind it. Same with NTR, etc. This is because after obtaining the title 'Dio Valshesis', she has gained sexual preferences similar of a dragon.
  • Weredragon: Since she and her brother both defeated twin dragons, they gained the ability to turn into one.

     Suk Simyeong

Suk Simyeong

A B-Rank person who was one of the founders of Haeyeon Guild and in charge of human resources.
  • Almighty Janitor: Being an S-Class individual, instead of joining or forming his own guide he instead serve as a public servant to prevent other Hunters from overthrowing the government (which has happened before in other countries).
  • The Dreaded: For Yoojin.
  • Defrosting Ice King: Before the time reset he was remembered by Yoojin to be especially mean and patronizing to him (although how much of that is just him following Yoohyun's order is unclear). After the recruitment of Yerim he has opened up and is considaribly warmer toward Yoojin.
  • Reasonable Authority Figure: Unlike some of the other major non-hunters guild leaders who are corrupted and self serving, he is completely devoted to the betterment of the guild. This has caused him to reject Yoojin's request on several occasions because it might hinder the reputation of the guild. However, he also stood behind a lot of Yoojin's and Yoohyun's decision because he thinks it would benefit the guild and the world at large.

     Moon Hyuna

Moon Hyuna

An S-Rank and the leader of the Breaker guild.
  • Amazonian Beauty: She is really tall with a notable muscles, incredible power and is also a beautiful woman. She was a sports star before she became a guild leader.
  • Ambiguously Brown: She has darker skin in her manhwa adaptation.
  • Big Secret: Yoojin to get back at Hyuna for talking about Yoohyun behind his back, goes to tell his brother about something Hyuna did on a certain day at a convenience store. Hyuna immediately grabs and breaks his phone, angrily asking Yoojin how he came upon that information when no one should know. Her secret apparently came out anyway in a few years pre-regression after her guild fell.
  • Fiery Red Head: She actually has red hair, but she's pretty good at holding her temper.
  • Important Haircut: After fighting the SS-tier monster with Han Yoojin and the others, she ends up shaving the hair off the left side of her head. Her assistant worries the higher ups would be furious over her changing her looks, but Moon Hyuna counters with saying the old farts should be happy half of her hair is still long. It's also implied her hair was originally red but was forced to dye it, leading her to go back to it original color.
  • Lightning Bruiser: She has high mobility due to her wind-related skills and high single target damage
  • Oh, Crap!: Her reaction when she realizes Yoojin apparently knows her greatest secret. After she snatches the phone away and breaks it, she demands to know who told him that information.
  • Phrase Catcher: Was the one who started calling Yoojin, "the one who will raise my child" (the manhwa translated this into "breeding partner"), which causes the other guild people who want a monster companion call him this as well. Yoojin curses her every time he hears it.
  • Pragmatic Hero: She states that unlike the other members in the Bhabar dungeon raid, she will not hesitate to kill Yoojin to prevent Sun Hyunjae from capturing and exploiting him.
  • Puppet King: The guild's council calls the shots, she's more of a symbolic figurehead. In the manhwa during a party where she's dressed up she internally thinks about how uncomfortable she is. She's also made to keep up certain physical appearances for commercials by her company.
  • Race Lift: She has pale skin and red hair on the novel covers, while the manhwa depict her with dark brown hair and darker skin.
  • Statuesque Stunner: She can easily tower over many of the other characters in the story, and is quite the looker. She's also currently one of the most powerful guild leaders.

    Taewon Song
A S-Class who joined the public service instead of a guild in order to act as a protective measure against the various S-Class Awakeners who might abuse their power.
  • Almighty Janitor: Despite the obvious power he wields, Song insists on being a civil servant rather than joining a guild or forming his own. He's also resistant to Yoojin's urging to take charge of the organiztion he's currently in despite the corrupt leadership that's becoming increasingly clear.
  • Black-and-White Insanity: In regards to Yoojin. It really boils down to Song being unable to decide if Yoojin was a weak individual in need of protection from the S-Class threats around him, or if he was a master manipulator and a ticking time bomb that needed to be defused (i.e. killed), not helped by Yoojin's apparent lack of fear in the face of mortal threats (which was mostly down to Yoojin's Legendary Rank Fear Resistance). This uncertainty has caused Song to flip from protecting Yoojin to threating his life and back again.

Yoojin's Pets

     Peace

Peace

A monster from Horned Flame Lion species, taken out by Yoohyun from a dungeon.

  • Attack Animal: Invoked. Yoohyun took Peace to tame him for his fire-attribute skill and making him an animal companion when attacking a dungeon.
  • Gag Censor: In the manhwa adaptation, he is used as a censor when a character appear naked in the original text.
  • Pint Sized Power House: It's a baby horned flame lion, but it's still incredibly powerful. He can even give Yoohyun, an S-Rank awakener trouble, and Yoojin has to wear lots of armor buff's in order to play with Peace.
  • Puppy-Dog Eyes: When feeling like it's losing Yoojin's attention, it will sometimes make these eyes.
  • Ridiculously Cute Critter: Yoojin thinks so, though everyone else is too aware of how powerful it is to look at it as anything else than a danger. After appearing on a few shows, there's apparently Peace merchandise that's absolutely adorable.
  • Sizeshifter: When it wants to, Peace can shift his size to be the size of what he'd look like as an adult. He does seem to get a bit tired from it afterwards though.

     Chirpie
A monster Yoojin receives from the System after he soloed an F-rank Dungeon.
  • Animal Jingoism: The moment Peace lays eyes on Chirpie it tries to eat them. Yoojin realizes in horror that introducing a cat to your new bird probably wasn't a good idea. He manages to get Peace to understand that Chirpie was a sibling, not food.
  • Big Eater: The moment he receives Chirpie, it starts eating all the gems the monsters dropped. In the manhwa, Yoojin has to stop Chirpie from devouring the boss gem which was four times its own size. It somehow still manages to eat it all.
