"I can't do this anymore."

A former member of the Horde, Kyle leaves Lonnie and Rogelio to find his own way in the Crimson Wastes.

For tropes that applied to him in the original show see She-Ra and the Princesses of Power — The Horde.

  • All the Other Reindeer: He was constantly bullied and mistreated when he was in the Horde.
  • Ambiguously Bi: He was in love with Rogelio and was interested in Lonnie. However, as Kyle unpacks more and more of his traumatic upbringing, he questions whether he was really in love with either of them or just clinging onto anything Rogelio wanted out of fear of losing him. Tellingly, he had a Shower of Angst in a flashback after he and Rogelio had a sexual encounter, suggesting the experience was traumatic. Kyle ends up realizing he isn't ready for any kind of romantic relationship and decides to be celibate, though he's advised to not close his heart off to love completely.
  • Anthropomorphic Personification: Kyle often visualizes his repressed rage as a Snakeman version of himself called Repkyle. Often this visualization will be clawing or biting at the things Kyle is upset at.
  • Ascended Extra: He was a minor character in the show and is the protagonist of the webcomic.
  • Asskicking Leads to Leadership: He takes over the Crimson Wastes from Lonnie via a duel.
  • The Beastmaster: He commands a doglike beast named Scruffer. He also inherits control over the Guardians, the mad First Ones creations populating Eternia primarily on Beast Island
  • Because You Were Nice to Me: He stays with the Twigget sisters because they treat him kindly.
  • Better as Friends: Kyle realizes he and Rogelio were in a toxic dynamic where he wanted Rogelio to be everything to him in life, which was extremely suffocating to Rogelio and caused him to prefer Lonnie, who he viewed as an equal rather than someone to be pitied. Thus he lets Rogelio and Lonnie go to be happy together.
  • Black Swords Are Better: The sword Kyle eventually wields is black rather than the blue of She-Ra's sword.
  • Butt-Monkey: Deconstructed. Kyle's existence as a Butt-Monkey left him heavily traumatized and malnourished with a great deal of repressed anger.
  • Celibate Hero: After Chapter 9, Kyle acknowledges he's not ready for a relationship due to his trauma and what he both went through and put Lonnie and Rogelio through. Even if he were, he's overall oblivious to advances both men and women put on him.
  • Childhood Friend Romance: Subverted. While he entered a relationship with Rogelio and Lonnie, Lonnie wanted nothing to do with him and Kyle leaves the relationship at the start of the comic. Parodied when Kyle sees a universe in which he and Adora were the last First Ones left and needed to repopulate the line of Castle Greyskull.
  • The Chosen One: Subverted when Kyle sees other universes in which he took up She-Ra's sword and the title of He-Ro, taking over the Horde and joining the Rebellion in fighting Horde Prime. He later becomes King Jared's heir, the Last of the First (Ones).
  • Cool Shades: Kyle inherits King Jared's visor, which can access all of Jared's memories and knowledge.
  • Cool Sword: He inherits King Jared's sword. Said sword is similar technology to She-Ra's sword, but made of a pitch black material that absorbs and can release stored magic at will.
  • Dragged into Drag: Played for drama in Chapter 11 where the False God emasculates Kyle by dressing him up as a bride against his will whilist driving him further into madness.
Later on is played for laughs in Chapter 16 when Kyle and Falcon have to dress up as Mermista's handmaidens as part of Ranger's heist to rescue Prince Peekablue.
  • The Engineer: Kyle takes an instant shine to technology and ends up modifying First Ones technology to suit his needs.
  • Extreme Doormat: In flashbacks. Kyle's arc is about moving past his doormat status and beginning to stand up for himself.
  • Eye Color Change: His eyes go from brown to blue after he inherits King Jared's power.
  • Ghost Memory: As a result of Jared combining his life force with Kyle's, Kyle gained some of King Jared's memories, which come to him every so often.
  • Good Is Not Soft: As Kyle grows in confidence, he begins to stand up more and more for what he knows is right, even at great risk to himself.
  • Going Native: Kyle at first joins the Twigget sisters and their way of life, and later becomes a member of the Beast Rider tribe.
  • Grew a Spine: His refusal to do what Sprat told him to blindly marks the first steps towards him growing a spine and becoming a more confident person.
  • Hair of Gold, Heart of Gold: For all his flaws, Kyle has his heart in the right place, symbolized by his golden hair.
  • Heroic Self-Deprecation: Kyle has a great deal of self-hatred. It takes him a very long time to grow out of it.
  • Interspecies Romance: He was in love with Rogelio in the past and even wanted to become a Snakeman with magic to be more appealing to him. Subverted when Kyle unpacks their relationship and realizes Rogelio pitied him and felt responsible for him rather than genuinely loved him, and he himself was using Rogelio as a Living Emotional Crutch.
  • Led by the Outsider: He becomes King of the Beast Riders due to inheriting King Jared's power. Downplayed as he returns control to Korg and J'Milla as soon as the Wastes are brought back under order. Lampshaded as early as Chapter 9, where Korg expresses disbelief that the tribe's chosen one would be an outsider.
  • The Load: Kyle was incompetent at best in his Horde days. He's aware of this status and works hard to become a more adept fighter as the comic progresses.
  • Masculine Girl, Feminine Boy: He's sensitive and kind of a doormat while Lonnie is aggressive and demanding at times.
  • Mental Fusion: King Jared fuses the last of his soul with Kyle to save him from the remnants of the Black Garnet's magic. While Kyle is the dominant personality, he talks about gaining a new wanderlust, as well as missing places he'd never been and craving food he'd never tasted prior as a result of the merge.
  • Mistreatment-Induced Betrayal: He leaves Lonnie and Rogelio because of their abuse, and strikes off on his own as the Crimson Fury when he begins getting into arguments with his friends during his Roaring Rampage of Revenge.
  • Mythology Gag: Kyle calls himself "Adam" when having to give a false identity in the north, a nod to Prince Adam in the original He-Man comics and the fan theories that Kyle was going to become He-Man.
  • Nervous Wreck: Kyle begins as one due to his severe trauma. He grows out of it as the series progresses, though very stressful situations will still bring out his nervous side.
  • Nice Guy: Zigzagged. While Kyle appears kind and docile, he carries a great deal of repressed anger and hatred for the Horde. The webcomic's first arc has him learn to deal with his rage in healthy ways and while it takes a long time, he becomes a better emotionally-rounded Nice Guy again. He's so nice he feels slimy at the merest mention of gossip, even against people who've wronged him in the past.
  • No Social Skills: Korg and Sprit discuss this in relation to Kyle in Chapter 8, with Sprit revealing Kyle had wildly inappropriate ideas about sexual boundaries in both familial and friendly relationships as a result of his upbringing in the Horde.
  • Polyamory: Subverted. While he was ostensibly in a relationship with both Rogelio and Lonnie, Lonnie found him repulsive and wanted nothing to do with him.
  • Primary-Color Champion: After gaining King Jared's power he takes on a red ensemble with gold and blue accent colors.
  • Red Baron: He acquires many titles over the course of the story, such as the Crimson Fury and The Last of the First.
  • Red Is Heroic: Kyle idealized a hero from the past called the Red Knight. Fittingly, his transformation is primarily red with gold and white accents.
  • The Scapegoat: Played for Drama. Kyle's status as the scapegoat left him a wreck of a person who clung onto the barest scraps of kindness he was given, making him an emotional burden on both Rogelio and Lonnie and causing them to resent him more. His choice to break this dynamic kicks off the story's plot.
  • Screw This, I'm Outta Here: The comic begins with him leaving Lonnie and Rogelio.
  • Shower of Angst: He had one after what's heavily implied to have been a traumatic sexual encounter with Rogelio.
  • Token Good Teammate: He used to be one in the Horde.
  • Took a Level in Badass: Kyle starts off as the Butt-Monkey of the Horde but gradually grows into The Chosen One.
  • Trauma-Induced Amnesia: Overlapping with Laser-Guided Amnesia. As a child Kyle was defiant and unwilling to serve the Horde. Shadow Weaver experimented on him with the Black Garnet to suppress his memories, leaving him as a Blank Slate via causing him so much pain he forgot his past.
  • Younger Than They Look: Deconstructed. Kyle is in his twenties but looks like a teenager due to his malnourished and poor upbringing.
  • Your Days Are Numbered: After Kyle uses The Portal to regain his memories of his father, the magic that Shadow Weaver used to suppress them begins to corrupt, slowly killing him. This is part of why Kyle becomes to engrossed in his Roaring Rampage of Revenge; he sees it as his last dance and the only way he'll get closure for his past mistreatment. He is cured by undergoing Mental Fusion with King Jared, which cures the corruption.

    Imp

Imp

Hordak's former pet. He joins Kyle on his journey through the Crimson Wastes, becoming his friend in the process.

For tropes that applied to him in the original show see She-Ra and the Princesses of Power — The Horde.

  • The Millstone: He nearly got Kyle killed by eating all the rations Kyle brought with him immediately. Averted later, when he becomes a perfect intel gatherer and trap-setter for Kyle due to his ability to mimic anyone's voice.
  • Speaks Fluent Animal: Imp is revealed to be able to speak to Scruffer in Chapter 13, helping in making Scruffer a saddle that he would enjoy.
  • Speaks in Shout-Outs: Repeats what he hears in a perfect imitation of the person's voice. This is the only way he can speak until late into the comic's first act.
  • The Unintelligible: Imp starts out as one, only able to mimic phrases he heard from others to somewhat get his point across. Subverted when he learns to piece words together and make sentences of his own.
  • What the Hell, Hero?: He calls out Kyle for nearly killing himself and plenty of other former Horde members with a First Ones bomb when Kyle is in his Crimson Fury phase.

    Scruffer

Scruffer

A beast from the Crimson Wastes who selects Kyle to be his lifelong bonded companion.
  • All Animals Are Dogs: Scruffer is essentially a giant dog.
  • The Chooser of the One: According to Word of God, Scruffer is part of a species bred by the First Ones for their brand of She-Ra as well as their own soldiers, allowing a candidate to bond with their master and ride them into battle as warriors past.
  • Horse of a Different Color: Kyle rides him into battle like a horse, making him Kyle's equivalent to Battle Cat and Swift Wind.

Crimson Wastes

    The Twigget Sisters

Sproc, Sprit, and Sprag

Sproc, Sprit, and Sprag

Three Twiggets who live together as a family. The family comprises of Sproc, Sprag, and Sprit.

    The Beast Riders

A tribe of warriors living in the Crimson Wastes. They are descendants of the First Ones who colonized Etheria in the far gone past, but in the present day they are a shadow of their once-proud selves.

Tropes that apply to them as a whole:

J'Milla

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/jm.png
Head of the Beast Rider tribe. He refused to join the Horde and retreated to the far edges of the Crimson Waste. While he is a wise and experienced ruler, his health has been fading in recent years.
  • Reasonable Authority Figure: He insists on his son following Beast Rider tradition surrounding duels despite Kyle's disadvantageous position.

Korg

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/krg.png
J'Milla's younger brother. Korg once advocated for the Beast Riders to join the Horde, but changed his stance and currently supports his ailing older brother in leading the Beast Riders.
  • Ain't Too Proud to Beg: He is not above begging Kyle and the Twiggets to save Tondy from Lonnie's clutches, despite the two at the time being enemies.
  • The Atoner: He deeply regrets having tried to join the tribe with the Horde in the past and at present has Undying Loyalty towards his brother.
  • Big Brother Instinct: Despite being Tondy's uncle, he has a brotherly relationship with Tondy and will resort to anything to protect him. This instinct later applies to Kyle as well.
  • Heel Realization: He realized he was in the wrong to join the Horde when he saw how joyless the orphaned children who served as cadets were. He realized he could never bear to subject Tondy to such a fate and returned to his family, begging for forgiveness.

Tondy

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/tnd_6.png
J'Milla's son and next in line to rule the Beast Riders.
  • Jerk with a Heart of Gold: He starts off as a rude, racist jerk towards Kyle and the Twiggets, but he shows his softer side after Kyle rescues him from Lonnie and the two become friends.

    The Oracle of Darkedge

The Oracle

A mysterious woman who lives in the ancient Castle Darkedge. The Beast Riders must go to her to seek out any guidance on serious matters, leading to Kyle meeting her after he saves Tondy from Lonnie.

  • Ain't No Rule: Subverted. There is in fact a rule against hugging the Oracle... But she lets it slide for Kyle.
  • Cool Old Lady: She serves as a grandmother role to Kyle and is also a powerful oracle.
  • The Chooser of the One: She is meant to identify the Chosen One who will reawaken King J'red. Downplayed, however. While she gives Kyle King J'red's sword, she tells Korg Kyle is merely a candidate for the chosen one. Subverted when Kyle's prophetic dreams meant he was the choice all along, but not the Oracle's- Jared's.
  • The Dreaded: The Beast Riders are nervous about having to go see her due to her authority, and Kyle is afraid she will immediately dismiss him. Subverted when it turns out she's really a kindly old woman.
  • Everyone Calls Him "Barkeep": Her real name is never stated, and she just goes by "the Oracle".
  • Expecting Someone Taller: Kyle goes in expecting the Oracle to be a beautiful young woman similar to the Princesses. It turns out the Oracle is really an old woman.
  • Expy: Of the Sorceress from He-Man, except as an old woman.
  • Screw the Rules, I Make Them!: She is forbidden from leaving Castle Darkedge and abides by this rule until Kyle subdues the Crimson Wastes, which she feels she must see herself.

    Lonnie

Lonnie

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/image_2022_12_16_135751124.png

Kyle's former friend and the current leader of the Crimson Wastes.

For tropes that applied to her in the original show see She-Ra and the Princesses of Power — The Horde.

  • Adaptational Jerkass:invoked In the main series canon, she began to respect Kyle better after Protocol and according to Word of God entered a relationship with Kyle and Rogelio both. At the start of the webcomic, she's gone right back to abusing Kyle despite him saving her life and is repulsed at the thought of being in a relationship with him.
  • Always Someone Better: What Lonnie struggles with. She lived under Adora's shadow, then Catra's. Her inability to mold Kyle into a good fighter caused Commander Cobalt to withhold praise from her. Then, Kyle shows up again stronger and more badass, which infuriates her and causes them to become rivals.
  • Asskicking Leads to Leadership: She retains her authority in the Crimson Wastes due to her ability as a fighter.
  • Badass Normal: A human-like girl who nonetheless is a great fighter.
  • Brainy Brunette: Brown hair, is a competent Elite Mook, and appears to be good with technology.
  • Carry a Big Stick: Her preferred weapon seems to be some kind of energy mace.
  • Childhood Friend Romance: She's in a relationship with Rogelio.
  • Curtains Match the Windows: Brown hair with light brown eyes.
  • Dark Action Girl: She's a competent fighter and Horde soldier.
  • Dreadlock Warrior: Has dreadlocks and is a skilled Horde soldier.
  • Foil: She takes on a very similar role to Catra in the original show, becoming Kyle's archnemesis and driving the first arc's conflict. However, unlike Adora and Catra, who confessed their feelings for each other and made up, Kyle and Lonnie realize there's just too much hurt and trauma between them and while they ultimately bury the hatchet, neither wants to be around the other again for a very long time.
  • Hidden Depths: She was instructed to make Kyle into a good cadet, and her failure to do so caused her a great deal of trauma from her Parental Substitute Commander Cobalt.
  • Interspecies Romance: She's in a happy relationship with Rogelio.
  • It's Personal: She takes Kyle's rescue of Tondy very personally and resolves to hunt him down and make him pay.
  • I've Come Too Far: She has a Jerkass Realization in Chapter 13 after being asked an Armor-Piercing Question by one of her subordinates, but she decides she must absolutely cement her position in the Crimson Wastes.
  • Jerk Jock: She's a brawny no-nonsense woman and is a major Jerkass to Kyle.
  • Masculine Girl, Feminine Boy: She's aggressive and no-nonsense while Kyle and Rogelio are more sensitive.
  • Non-Uniform Uniform: Although in design, her uniform is similar to Kyle and Rogelio's, hers are short-sleeved.
  • Polyamory: Subverted. While she initially agreed to become Kyle and Rogelio's partner, she ended up being repulsed at the idea of being intimate with Kyle and only wanted Rogelio.
  • Sanity Slippage: She undergoes it further and further when she fails to kill Kyle multiple times.
  • She Cleans Up Nicely: Her first appearance outside of a flashback has her letting her hair down and putting on makeup to attend a celebratory party. After she's humiliated by Kyle she returns to her previous tomboyish hair.
  • Tomboyish Name: "Lonnie" is often attributed to males.
  • Ungrateful Bitch: She went right back to abusing Kyle after the events of Protocol, resulting in him leaving. When Rogelio immediately wanted to go find Kyle, she shrugged off his disappearance and convinced Rogelio that Kyle probably was having another tantrum for not being invited to the sleepover.Word of God says the aftermath of Protocol was the "Honeymoon phase" of the cycle of abuse, and the relationship cycled back to the "Tensions phase" once they abandoned the Fright Zone.
  • We Used to Be Friends: She tries to call Kyle out on leaving her group, only for Kyle to retort that he was never her friend and only her punching bag.
  • Worf Had the Flu: In her final duel with Kyle, she's mentally unstable and not yet used to her prosthetic hand. Meanwhile, he's just become a newly Empowered Badass Normal and resolved the worst of his rage. He runs circles around her.

    Rogelio

Rogelio

Kyle's former Love Interest and Lonnie's current boyfriend.

For tropes that applied to him in the original show see She-Ra and the Princesses of Power — The Horde.

  • Accidental Murder: Has a dream where Kyle almost murdered him as a child due to his resemblance to Kyle's childhood stuffed dragon toy; Kyle hugged him so tightly he nearly suffocated. Whether the dream is based on past events or symbolic of Rogelio's mental state is never made clear.
  • Adults Are More Anthropomorphic: He looked like a regular lizard as a child.
  • The Bartender: He becomes one in Chapter 13 after learning he loves working at the Cantina.
  • Childhood Friend Romance: He is in a relationship with Lonnie, his earliest childhood friend.
  • Green and Mean: A green-scaled lizard and a former member of the Horde. Downplayed as he was the only person to be kind to Kyle.
  • Hidden Depths: While he cared for Kyle, he also had trauma around Kyle nearly killing him as a child and found Kyle so emotionally suffocating he could only pity him, not love him as an equal.
  • Interspecies Romance: He's in a relationship with Lonnie, a human.
  • Lizard Folk: He's a Snakeman.
  • Living Emotional Crutch: He was one for Kyle during their days in the Horde. Deconstructed, as Rogelio found this dynamic suffocating and couldn't respect Kyle as an equal because of it, leading to him being happier with Lonnie.
  • Pet the Dog: Unlike most of the former Horde, he seems to treat Kyle in a very friendly and affectionate manner, in some cases even saving him from danger. Subverted when his inaction resulted in Kyle being further emotionally abused by Lonnie and led to Kyle leaving both of them.
  • Polyamory: His species is polyamorous by default.
  • Taking the Bullet: He takes a lightning bolt meant to kill Lonnie and just barely survives.
  • The Unintelligible: He communicates with roars and growls. Subverted as Lonnie learned to understand him at some point before the webcomic takes place, so we are able to understand most of what he says.

Glenmar

    The Star Sisters

Gemstar, Highstar, and Brightstar

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/stsis.png
All that glitters isn't gold.

Three Princesses of Etheria without Runestones. They chose to remain neutral during the War, and are now setting ominous plans into motion...

  • Alpha Bitch: All of them love trash talking and sowing drama and discord among the other princesses.
  • Amazing Technicolor Population: All three of them are various shades of pink.
  • Ascended Extra: They were nothing more than background characters in the show. Here they are ominous villains seeking to blackmail and manipulate everyone around them.
  • Big Brother Is Watching: They know everything about everyone and closely monitor anyone they deem their enemies.
  • Composite Character: They are inspired by both the Star Sisters and the Harpies in the original She-Ra: Princess of Power.
  • The Ditz: Brightstar. She routinely fails to keep her mouth shut about important information and earns the ire of her other two sisters.
  • Dumb Is Good: Brightstar is the dumbest of the trio and also the only one with any possible redeeming qualities in her genuine friendship with Dr. Nycroft.
  • Even Evil Has Standards: Gemstar is horrified when Highstar tortures Modulok for a simple remark. Her concern is primarily because they still need him, but still.
  • Humanoid Abomination: According to Modulok, the Sisters are primordial eldritch beings of ancient shadow that absorb unfortunate souls, never to be seen again.
  • Kick the Dog: Highstar gleefully begins to torture Modulok after he snaps at her. He's already badly injured at the time and can do nothing to fight back.
  • Makeup Is Evil: All three of them wear a great deal of makeup and all of them are evil, manipulative mages.
  • Obfuscating Stupidity: They come off as drama-loving alpha bitches with little ambition besides making money and talking trash. In truth they are compiling a database of every major person on the planet, with the end goal of destroying all former Horde members and ruining the Brightmoon family.
  • Only Sane Woman: Gemstar, who adheres to Pragmatic Villainy and is horrified when Highstar nearly kills Modulok in a rage. Brightstar, meanwhile, is constantly nearly ruining her sisters' plans by having no verbal filter.
  • The Quiet One: Gemstar has a total of a single spoken line.
  • Rich Bitch: All of them are ridiculously wealthy and very evil.
  • Terms of Endangerment: Highstar has a tendency to nickname others with cute pet names, even while actively insulting them.
  • Unknown Rival: Highstar/Hunta despises the Brightmoon royalty and Queen Angella in particular. Angella never alluded to Highstar and presumably knew nothing of her hatred.
  • Vain Sorceress: The three of them are all up to date on various fashion trends or actively make them, and all of them are powerful sorceresses.
  • The Weird Sisters: A trio of dangerous magical women.

    Dr. Nycroft

Dr. Nycroft/Modulok

A scientist under the protection of the Star Sisters. In reality, he's a former Horde scientist by the name of Modulok. He left the Horde after enduring years of Hordak's mistreatment, but was kidnapped by the Star Sisters and remains their prisoner, forced to work for them to further their sinister agenda.

  • Adaptational Attractiveness: The Dr. Nycroft in the original She-Ra was a bald Gonk, while here he's an attractive elflike man with a full head of hair. Subverted, as under his disguise he looks much like the original Modulok.
  • Berserk Button: Hordak calling him a failure. It drives him absolutely mad.
  • Forced into Evil: His real joy in life is in making toys, but he's being forced to work on enhancing the Star Sisters' wealth and on their surveillance project.
  • Gadgeteer Genius: He created mass-produced and upgraded versions of Bow's pad tool. He also created much of the Horde's technology before he defected.
  • Implicit Prison: He cannot leave Glenmar. While he's not a prisoner in name, if he attempted to leave the Sisters would kill him.
  • The Mentor: He briefly mentors Kyle and gives him an in to ask the Star Sisters about finding Prince Peekablue. This relationship falls apart when he is revealed to be working with the Star Sisters on a Sinister Surveillance project with the end goal of taking over the world.
  • Mistreatment-Induced Betrayal: Much like Kyle, he left the Horde due to being poorly treated there.
  • Pet the Dog: He was genuine in his advice to Kyle and in trying to help him out.
  • Rage Breaking Point: In order to distract Modulok, Imp begins to recall Hordak's old arguments with him. Hearing Hordak's voice again causes Modulok to go into a pure rage, trashing his own lab.

    Bright Moon Knight Telzy

Telzy

A Bright Moon soldier tasked by Queen Glimmer to investigate and capture Kyle.
  • Composite Character: Word of God lists Teela as a major influence on Telzy's character, while her backstory is taken from Adora's, having been raised by a Horde commander as a child and later on rebelled against him to serve the rebellion.
  • Fiery Redhead: Has auburn hair and reddish skin and can be quite the fighter.
  • Hates Their Parent: The Star Sisters figure out quite fast that Telzy is not on good terms with her father.
  • Mysterious Past: Telzy is very secretive of her background as well as her family.Implied to be General Sunder, who is believed to be dead.

Seaworthy

    Captain Falcon

Falcon/Davy

A ship captain who was once mentored by Sea Hawk and formerly had a relationship with him. In the present, he's fallen on some hard times.

  • Ascended Extra: Falcon is based off of an unnamed ex of Sea Hawk in the original show. He's a major part of the second arc of the webcomic.
  • Broken Pedestal: He used to revere Sea Hawk and many of his mannerisms were directly taken from him. But this pedestal was shattered when Sea Hawk abandoned him in favor of chasing Mermista and turned into bitter hatred.
  • Interspecies Romance: He's a Leoprine and formerly dated Sea Hawk.
  • Forced Transformation: He's seemingly forced into a Leoprine form at the end of Chapter 14. It turns out to be Subverted, as that's his true form after his Transformation Trinket was reclaimed by Mortella.
  • He-Man Woman Hater: He doesn't like women as a general rule, contributing to his Jerkass status.
  • Jerkass: He's a major jerk at first, suggesting Kyle go sell his body to make enough money to pay for sea fare. He only softens after being forced to eat some major humble pie and needing Kyle's help to have his shapeshifting amulet returned. Even then, him losing it in the first place was entirely his own fault.
  • Literal Transformative Experience: Falcon losing his magic earring is the first step in him having a Jerkass Realization and becoming a better person.
  • What You Are in the Dark: Mortella gave him a test of kindness to see if he was still worthy of her magic earring. He failed, which led to her revoking her magic and leading to him needing Kyle's help.

    The Witch of Fire

Madam Myrtle/Mortella

A former sorceress of Mystacor and Norwyn's sister, Mortella was banished just before the Horde invasion. She lives in the woods alone, providing help to those who seek her out and show appropriate kindness...

  • Deal with the Devil: She makes deals with others that will help them achieve their greatest dreams in exchange for gaining their souls after they die.
  • Glowing Eyelights of Undeath: Any of Mortella's possessed suits of armor have glowing eyelights indicating they're being puppeted by her.
  • Gruesome Goat: Zigzagged. She is a goat woman and began as an antagonist. However, Mortella is a reasonably sympathetic character despite her dark magic and is frequently helpful to Kyle.
  • Marionette Master: Mortella uses part of her power to animate suits of armor to communicate with others remotely and do her bidding.
  • Playing with Fire: As befitting the Witch of Fire.
  • Revenge: She claims she's helping Kyle because he was formerly abused by Shadow Weaver; seeing Kyle succeed despite Shadow Weaver's best attempts is the only way she can get revenge for her brother now (who died at Shadow Weaver's hands).
  • Transformation Trinket: She hands them out to others.
  • Your Soul Is Mine!: Mortella adds the lives of those she helps to her own life force after they die, giving her vast power.

The Fright Zone

    Scorpia

Princess Scorpia

Ruler of the Fright Zone and last of the scorpion folk. For tropes that applied to her in the original show see She-Ra and the Princesses of Power — The Horde.
  • Girliness Upgrade: While she's still a muscular scorpion woman, Scorpia's gone from sporting a short haircut to wearing a longer braid as part of Perfuma's influence on her.
  • Heroic RRoD: Kyle not wanting to play into her idea of found family triggers Scorpia and causes her to snap and lose control of her powers and mind.
  • Jerkass to One: Deconstructed. Scorpia has a reputation as a Nice Girl among the former Horde members, but was still a bully towards Kyle, leading him to distrust her and not want to be around her. Scorpia having a Jerkass Realization partially triggers her trauma from the Horde and when Perfuma hears about how Scorpia treated Kyle, she's horrified to hear how nasty Scorpia could be.
  • Last of His Kind: Scorpia and Perfuma both failed to find any remaining scorpion people besides Scorpia left alive, suggesting she's the last one left.
  • Power Incontinence: Scorpia is still learning to channel the Black Garnet's power and has moments where she loses control of its vast energy.
  • Shock and Awe: One of her powers gained from the Black Garnet.

    Perfuma

Princess Perfuma

Scorpia's girlfriend who is helping Scorpia work through her traumatic upbringing as part of the Horde. For tropes that applied to her in the original show see She-Ra and the Princesses of Power — The Rebellion.
  • Fighting Your Friend: She's forced to fight Scorpia to keep her from harming Kyle or herself during her Heroic RRoD.
  • Green Thumb: Perfuma, as always, has the ability to control and grow plants.
  • Nice Girl: Perfuma shows no judgment towards either Kyle or Scorpia for having been former Horde members and is kind and reasonable to both.
  • Reasonable Authority Figure: Unlike most of the Princesses, Perfuma is a reasonable woman who is nothing but helpful to Kyle, judging his current actions rather than judging him on his past affiliation.
  • There Are No Therapists: Averted. Perfuma is acting as a therapist towards Scorpia. However it's something she struggles with at the same time due to Scorpia's past baggage.

First Ones

    Kyle's Father

Macht

A descendant of the First Ones and a defiant rebel who trusted neither the Horde nor the Princesses. Kyle was stolen from Mach at a young age and has not been seen since.
  • The Bus Came Back: He finally reappears at the end of the Fright Zone arc.
  • Disappeared Dad: Inverted; Kyle was stolen from him as a young child.
