Maleficent

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/maleficent_khiii_2.png
"The truth can be most cruel, even amongst the closest of friends."

Origin: Sleeping Beauty
Appearances: Act 1: The Antipode|Act 2: Fragmented Truths (Illusion)|Act 3: All That's Left (Flashbacks)|Side Stories: Dark Deliberations

"You fools… I shall not allow you to interfere with my plans. As soon as that foolish boy completes the Keyhole, this world shall be plunged into darkness!"

A wicked fairy bent on conquering every world in existence. She manipulates Sora under the guise of a kindly, heroic outcast, decieving him into aiding in her goals.

  • Back from the Dead: It is revealed that after her defeat at the hands of Riku, Maleficent was somehow sent back in time to the Simulated Daybreak Town.
  • Big Bad Duumvirate: Much like in the original game, Maleficent shares this role with Ansem, Seeker of Darkness in Act 1. Though the latter is The Heavy, Maleficent serves as a more active threat for the majority of the story.
  • Bitch in Sheep's Clothing: Presents herself as a kindly, well-meaning outcast who wishes to rescue the princesses and save the worlds at large.
  • Broken Pedestal: Sora is furious when he realizes she was lying to him all along, attacking her dragon form in tears.
  • Dark Is Not Evil: Tries to convince Sora that she is this. It works for a while.
  • Devil in Plain Sight: Though her true nature is known to the majority of the cast, she does such a good job manipulating Sora that he doesn't suspect that she's a villain until its too late.
  • Evil Mentor: To Sora. She takes the boy under her wing, teaches him magic and acts as a mentor towards him.
  • False Friend: Befriends Sora due to his connection with the Keybearer.
  • Faux Affably Evil: Puts on a kind, motherly facade when trying to manipulate someone.
  • Legion of Doom: Leads a council of Disney Villains who conspire in their efforts to conquer the worlds.
  • Obviously Evil: Lampshaded by Hades in All That's Left.
Not that it matters. Looks to me like Maleficent made a sucker outta you after all. Yeesh, you'd think the horns woulda given her away from the start.
  • Pre Ass Kicking One Liner: Spouts one before transforming into a dragon.
So you still continue to fight, even when the odds are against you. I suppose, then, I have no choice. This castle will be your tomb, as I unleash all the powers of hell!
  • Villainous Legacy: Even in death, Maleficent is notorious throughout the worlds as the wicked fairy who plunged several worlds into darkness.
  • Wham Line: Her appearance in Marluxia's memory within Castle Oblivion appears to retread her duel with Lauriam in Kingdom Hearts χ...until she mentions Riku by name, indicating that she somehow traveled to the past after her demise in Act 1.

    Hades

Hades

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/257px_hades_khiii.png
"See, I got plans. Monumental plans, and I can't have a bunch of Key-slinging runts screwing around and making things complicated."

Origin: Hercules
Appearances: Act 1: The Antipode|Act 3: All That's Left

"See, I don't think you kids appreciate the position that you're in. Maleficent, Ursula, Ansem, the Organization—losers, all of them! None of them had the talent or the ambition to do what I've accomplished here today. Couldn't even conquer their own worlds, let alone the cosmos! I'm on a whole 'nother level beyond anything you kiddies have ever seen. And you know what the real kicker is? I've never been your enemy!"

The Lord of the Dead and ruler of the Underworld in Olympus. While he appears in Act 1 as one of Maleficent's allies, Hades abandons her in favor of pursuing his own goals. He later appears as the Starter Villain in Act 3: All That's Left.

  • Nigh-Invulnerability: As a genie.
  • Villain Song: Briefly. During his fight, he strips away Aladdin's prince disguise while singing a verse of Prince Ali (Reprise), much to the Genie's dismay.

Demona

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/demona_6.png

Origin: Gargoyles
Appearances: The Year Between

"Look at you all, backed into a corner like the helpless prey that you are. To think that a child and her pets were able to interfere with my plans... And here I thought the Keyblade only chose those who are strong."
A gargoyle hell-bent on eradicating humanity. Though her ambitions make her an ideal target for the Organization, her immortality prevents her from succumbing to darkness.
  • Establishing Character Moment: Her first appearance has her express frustration at some humans escaping her Heartless attacks due to the Keybearer's arrival.
  • Fantastic Racism: She utterly despises humanity and desires nothing less than the complete extinction of their kind.
  • Immortality: Said immortality allows her to summon as many Heartless as she desires without the risk of losing her own heart.
  • Kill All Humans: Her primary motive. She frequently uses Heartless for the sole purpose of slaughtering humans. Upon learning that Sora is "a human in Heartless' skin", she immediately desires to kill him.
  • Red Eyes, Take Warning: Her eyes can glow a bright red.
  • Would Hurt a Child: Footage from her attacks reveal a five-year-old girl having her heart ripped out by a Heartless.

    David Xanatos

David Xanatos

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/xanatos.png
"Believe it or not, I know better than to dabble with darkness. It's just not good for your health.":
Click here  to see his Steel Clan Armor

Origin: Gargoyles
Appearances: The Year Between

"Unfortunately, I can't keep this corporation afloat if the city sinks into darkness. As fascinating as those Heartless are, I'd sooner be rid of them than invite them into my home."
An intelligent, amoral multi-billionaire. Pragmatic and unflabbale, Xanatos was responsible for reawakening the Gargoyles in the present day. Despite this, his manipulations and diabolical machinations have cemented him as an enemy to the Manhattan Clan. When Aqua and Sora crashland in his office after using the Star Shard, Xanatos befriends them and helps them find his world's keyhole. Even when the heroes discover his true nature, Xanatos forms a temporary alliance with them in order to stop Demona from plunging their world into darkness.
  • Affably Evil: Impeccably polite even to his enemies.
  • Boring, but Practical: Unlike many villains, Xanatos abstains from using darkness and the heartless due to the risk of losing one's heart.
To the uninformed, the darkness is probably the greatest tool in existence. The power to command a whole army of obedient pawns, the ability to move from place to place with little effort… If it weren't for the risks involved, I might've considered it after all.
  • The Chessmaster: Enough to rival Master Xehanort. Xanatos plays both the heroes and other villains like pieces on a chessboard.
  • Devil in Plain Sight: Downplayed. Though he assists them in finding the Keyhole, Aqua and Sora don't particularly trust him.
  • Enemy Mine: Forms a truce with the heroes and helps them defeat Demona, if only to prevent Manhattan from falling to darkness.
  • Establishing Character Moment: Xanatos's first scene has him meeting with Zexion. Though Xanatos forms a partnership with the Nobody, he asks Zexion what he wants in return, knowing full well that he has ulterior motives. This scene establishes him as an intelligent, resourceful chessmaster with no special powers who learnt of the Outside World through his own resources and cunning.
Owen: Mr. Xanatos, I trust you realize he has ulterior motives.
Xanatos: I know, and I'm counting on it.
  • Genre Savvy: Cites this as the reason he chose not to trust Maleficent.
I was read a lot of fairy tails when I was young. You learn to recognize a witch when you see one.
  • Mecha-Mooks: His Steel Clan; a series of robots modeled after the Gargoyles.
  • Powered Armor: As well as the aforementioned Steel Clan, Xanatos utilizes a set of robotic battle armour.
  • Refused the Call: Though Maleficent offered him a place in her Council of Villains, Xanatos declined as her plan for world domination was "too cliché" for his liking.

  • Death by Adaptation: Succumbs to darkness during his confrontation and becomes a Heartless.
  • Flaming Sword: Ignites his sword with Dark Firaga during his battle.
  • Hair-Trigger Temper: Being a massive Spoiled Brat, he gets angry and irritated rather easily.
  • The Heartless: His Heartless is a ginormous, golden set of armor with a bejeweled sword.
  • Hypocrite: Accuses the heroes of using witchcraft against him in battle despite calling upon the darkness himself. When Riku lampshades this, he simply retorts that he's the Prince.
  • The Power of Hate: Luxord advises Prince John to channel his hatred for Robin Hood, which pushes him over the edge.
Yes… hatred. How I loathe that rogue and all that he stands for! Always getting in my way! Stealing and looting and ruining all my schemes!

Origin: The Emperor's New Groove
Appearances: Act 3: All That's Left

"Hmm… No doubt he'll be furious. That spoiled brat is selfish, arrogant, and completely detached from reality. And now he's powerless… Why, with just the right push, he could easily succumb to the darkness, and then he'd have to answer to me!"
The Royal Advisor who aims to turn the Emperor into a Heartless and usurp the throne. Despite her lust for power, she knows better than to rely on darkness.

Origin: Wreck-It Ralph
Appearances: Act 3: All That's Left

"I'm Turbo, the greatest racer ever, and I did not reprogram this world so you, your little friends, and that halitosis-ridden warthog could take it away from me!"
The corrupt ruler of Sugar Rush and the fastest racer there. He is actually Turbo; the main character of the unplugged game Turbo Time. Turbo altered the code of Sugar Rush to make himself ruler whilst turning the real ruler, Princess Vanellope Von Schweetz, into a glitch.
  • Adaptational Badass: Even before becoming a Cy-Bug, King Candy puts up a fight. He rams his kart into Vanellope's and jumps onto the bonnet, wielding a pipe as a baton.
  • Kick the Dog: Is needlessly cruel towards Xion; herself a "glitch". In his Cy-Bug form, he peels off her hood, revealing her disfigurement to her friends.
  • Oh, Crap!: His reaction when he learns of Xion's presence. He encountered King Mickey and Donald in the past and feared that they would uncover his secret.

Origin: Wreck-It Ralph
Appearances: Act 3: All That's Left

Destructive cybernetic insects that serve as the main antagonists of the first-person shooter Hero's Duty. The Organization invests in them as a potential weapon.
  • Bizarre Alien Reproduction: They all appear capable of laying eggs, and can do so when there's only one of them.
  • Cannibalism Superpower: Cy-Bugs gain the attributes of anything they eat; a quality Heartlesses lack. This is the primary reason why Zexion considered them as a possible alternative for the Heartless.

Metroville

    Syndrome

Syndrome (Real Name: Buddy Pine)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/syndrome.png
"Even with those Keyblades, you're just like any other super. Without your powers, you're weak."

Origin: The Incredibles
Appearances: Act 3: All That's Left

"Of course not, but villainous ploys are nothing new, and my heroics are gonna paint things in a totally different light. In fact, I should be thanking you! With all the worlds in chaos, this is the perfect business opportunity. My weapons, my inventions… I can sell 'em to the highest bidders and give those worlds the hope that you were stupid enough to take away."
A sociopathic Gadgeteer Genius who allies himself with the Organization.
  • Anime Hair: His impossible beehive of flame-like hair is ridiculous even for Kingdom Hearts standards.
  • Arms Dealer: Made his fortune through inventing and selling weapons. He even intended on expanding his services to other worlds.
  • Dual Boss: Fights Riku and Kairi alongside Lexaeus in the Parr's Family Household.
  • Engineered Heroics: His Evil Plan involves setting an Omnidroid loose in the city of Metroville and defeating it himself under the guise of a Super Hero, thereby lavishing in the praise one would get from heroism.
  • Establishing Character Moment: In his second appearance, Syndrome orders a missile strike on the Highwind with the full knowledge that Mr. Inredible's wife and children are on board. After forcing the poor guy to watch as his family is seemingly killed, Syndrome then orders Mirage to replay the footage four times to further break his spirit.
  • Hate Sink: Easily one of the most despicable villains in the series.
  • Psychopathic Manchild: Lexaeus likens him to a child handed a toolbox of explosives.
  • Villainous Legacy: The Organization absorbs his resources after his death. Notably, he provided them with neutralizers that allowed them to disable the heroes' Keyblade magic within the walls of their castle.
  • What the Hell, Hero?: Gives one to Riku for neglecting to close the Door to Darkness, revealing his selfish decision to the Parrs.
And sure, I'm not a conventional hero, but at least I'm not like him. After all, he left the Door to Darkness wide open. He could've brought back all those worlds that disappeared. Heck, I heard that if he'd shut that door, the worlds wouldn't even be able to fall to darkness… But no, he was too scared to commit. (To Riku) You may think I'm a villain, but have you ever thought about all those lives you've cast into the darkness? How many people you've let become mindless, Heart-stealing monsters?
  • Would Hurt a Child: Has no problem ordering a missile strike on the Highwind despite knowing full well that Mr. Incredible's children are on board.

John Silver

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/johnsilver.png
"I've seen enough to know that you both have the makings of greatness in ya."

Origin: Treasure Planet
Appearances: Act 3: All That's Left

"But if you want to reach your peak, if you really want to shine like the stars, then you have to chart your own course. Stick to it, no matter the squalls, and when the time comes and you get the chance to really test the cut of your sails… Well, I'd like to be there, catching some of the light coming off you that day."
Silver to Riku and Jim
A burly Cyborg pirate who acts as a father figure of sorts to Jim Hawkins and Riku. Despite conspiring with Xigbar for his own purposes, Silver genuinely cared for the two and meant every word of support he ever said to them.
  • Affably Evil: Jovial and fatherly even after his true agenda is revealed.
  • An Arm and a Leg: A robotic arm and leg.
  • Berserk Button: Was enraged when Riku likened him to Maleficent after his betrayal.

  • Broken Pedestal: To Riku after the former's betrayal.
Riku: You told Jim that you saw greatness in him. Said the same thing to me. We trusted you. Heck, I even kind of looked up to you. But, you're just another Maleficent.
Silver: [Flares up] Now, listen here! That she-demon is a destroyer of worlds! I may pillage and plunder, but I—
Riku: You're with the Organization. I've seen what they do to worlds that don't fall in line. They don't destroy them; they leave them begging for death.
    Silver: You...!
  • Electronic Eye: Sports a robotic eye that glows red.
  • Empowered Badass Normal: His physical prowess is impressive, even ignoring the obvious enhancements.
  • Foil: To Maleficent. Both served as mentors to Riku and Sora respectively, only to become Broken Pedestals when the heroes discover their true agendas. The difference is that Maleficent never saw Sora as anything more than a pawn whilst Silver genuinely cared for Riku and held him in high esteem. Furthermore, Silver ultimately pulled a Heel–Face Turn and made amends with the heroes.
  • Friend-or-Idol Decision: Like in the film, Silver gets the opportunity to escape with the treasure, but gives it up to save Jim's life.
  • Greed: His primary motive for finding Treasure Planet.
  • Karma Houdini: Just like in the source material, Silver gets away without any repercussions for his actions, though not before making amends with Jim and arranging for Ringabel to rescue the heroes from Arendelle.
  • Morality Pet: Riku and Jim serve as this to him.
  • Nothing Personal: Uses this to justify his betrayal to Riku.
Listen, lad, it's nothing personal. You 'n Jimbo… you're both good kids. But, I've come too far. Been spending nearly me whole life searching for this treasure…
  • Pet the Dog: His kindness towards Jim and Riku is genuine.
    • In the end, he gives Jim a generous portion of treasure to help the latter's financial situation.
  • Screw This, I'm Outta Here: When the cast crashlands into Arendelle, Silver swipes the wrecked ship's warp drive and
  • Swiss-Army Appendage: His mechanical arm can transform from a laser gun to a kitchen knife to a sword. Riku likens him to a walking utility knife.
  • Villain Respect: Held Jim and Riku in high esteem even after they ended up on opposing sides.
And you, lad; what I said about greatness wasn't a lie. With the way I put you through the wringer, I half-expected you to keel over. But instead, you busted your back, by thunder! Put the rest of me crew to shame, you did.

  • Adaptational Badass: In this continuity, the most feared Space Pirate in all the worlds wields a Keyblade. His skeletal remains (actually his Nobody) rises from a throne of Keyblades to fight the heroes whilst his Heartless emerges from within the world's heart during said world's destruction.

  • Extra Eyes: He has six eyesockets.
  • The Heartless: His Heartless is a humongous, six-armed skeletal monstrosity dripping with darkness, buried within the world's heart.

  • Storm of Blades: Much like Master Xehanort, Flint can launch torrents of rusted Keyblades at his enemies.
  • Throne Made of X: His Nobody sat upon a throne of Keyblades guarding his treasure. At the start of his fight, he rises from his throne and launches the Keyblades at the intruders.
