    Kaisaurus the Black Dragon

Kaisaurus the Black Dragon

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/black_dragon.PNG

The Black Dragon and the strongest of The Seven Dragons. Kaisaurus was once one of The Twelve Heroes who led the charge in the war against the demons, but after being inflicted with a demon curse, he became a terrifying foe his former allies were forced to kill. He is the origin of the Dragon Heart that the Tartarus Worshippers, the Temple of Light, and Zephyr are after.

Tropes:

  • Battle in the Center of the Mind: Kaisaurus had one of those with Zephyr while Eurydice was transplanting his Dragon Heart into Zephyr.
  • Brainwashed and Crazy: Thanks to being inflicted with a demon curse, Kaisaurus lost his mind and went on a rampage, nearly burning down the world and filling it with misery and death.
  • Curse: The demon curse turned Kaisaurus into a horrifying monster who nearly ended the world. The curse lingered in his Dragon Heart, which was unintentionally afflicted to Georgios after Eurydice transplanted it into Georgios with her being tricked into thinking it had been purified. Eurydice then had to spend the next thousand years actually breaking the curse on his Dragon Heart.
  • Evil Former Friend: To the remaining Twelve Heroes.
  • Face–Monster Turn: The demon curse changed Kaisaurus from a helpful ally into a terrible enemy.
  • Fallen Hero: What Kaisaurus became after said Face–Monster Turn.
  • MacGuffin: The Dragon Heart is a kind of magic stone formed within the heart of a dragon, and gives whoever uses it the power of a dragon. It was an item that caused a sensation throughout all of Aslan with the Tartarus Worshippers, the Temple of Light, and Zephyr seeking Kaisaurus's Dragon Heart by raiding the Tomb of the Fallen Princess.
  • Rage Against the Heavens: Kaisaurus really hates the gods and looks down upon anyone with the gods' favor.
  • Red Eyes, Take Warning: Kaisaurus has red eyes, and was an incredibly dangerous foe after being inflicted with a demon curse.
  • Spell My Name With An S: Depending on the translation, his name may be spelled as either "Kaisaurus" or "Kaiserus".
  • Together in Death: Finally reunited with his vassal Blue Dragon Artalis as Zephyr was getting her Dragon Heart transplanted by Yggdrasil, the Tree of Life. After the transplant was successful, both dragons will be watching Zephyr from within.
  • Tsundere: Seems to be one as seen when Kaisaurus threw a fit when Blue Dragon Artalis said that he gave Zephyr permission to use his power, claiming he would never acknowledge a mere human...despite having done exactly that when Zephyr overpowered him.
  • Who Dares?: As his Dragon Heart was first being transplanted into Zephyr, Kaisaurus nearly overwhelmed Zephyr with his Overmind, demanding why the gods—whom he could sense the presence of on Zephyr—would send another puppet.
  • Words Can Break My Bones: Kaisaurus can presumably use <Language Enchantment> due to Zephyr being able to use it after having Kaisaurus's Dragon Heart successfully transplanted into him.
  • World's Strongest Man: More like World's Strongest Dragon, but Kaisaurus was the strongest of The Seven Dragons.
  • Worthy Opponent: After being defeated by Zephyr during their Battle in the Center of the Mind, Kaisaurus finally acknowledged Zephyr's power and finally let Zephyr use his Dragon Heart.

    Golden Dragon Archduke Magnus Fraiser

Golden Dragon Archduke Magnus Fraiser

Click here to see his humanoid form

One of The Twelve Heroes who led the charge in the war against the demons. Golden/Gold Dragon Archduke Magnus Fraiser is the Royal Guardian of the Kingdom of Cayenne, which occupies half of the continent of Aslan, and is on the side of humanity. But not is all as it seems...

Tropes:

  • Because Destiny Says So: As with all the other Seven Dragons, Golden Dragon Archduke Magnus Fraiser is plagued by an absolute mission that cannot be escaped unless he dies. In the previous timeline, the mission forced Golden Dragon Archduke Magnus Fraiser—as well as Ice Dragon Merenia—into being hostile towards humans and loyal towards The God of Demons Tartarus. This fact might have contributed to the reason why he betrayed Eurydice and Georgios.
  • Blue Blood: Is an Archduke, which is the rank directly below a King/Queen.
  • Et Tu, Brute?: Golden Dragon Magnus Fraiser betrayed Eurydice and Georgios by tricking Eurydice into thinking the curse on Kaisaurus's Dragon Heart was broken, making her unintentionally afflict that same curse onto Georgios after she transplanted it into him, once again nearly ending the world. Golden Dragon Magnus Fraiser also casted <Language Enchantment> on Eurydice, making her unable to directly tell anyone about the secret of the world she had found out.
  • Even Evil Has Loved Ones: Despite his duplicitous nature, Golden Dragon Archduke Magnus Fraiser utterly adores Polaris more than anything, to the point that challenging Polaris would be challenging him too. This makes it really hard to go against Polaris lest one is ready to face the Golden Dragon's wrath.
  • Evil All Along: Golden Dragon Magnus Fraiser only pretended to be Eurydice's and Georgios's ally.
  • Evil Former Friend: To Eurydice and Georgios.
  • Guardian Entity: The guardian of the Kingdom of Cayenne. He demands great respect, even from Lucius the Holy One of Light.
  • Hidden Agenda Villain: It is currently unknown why Golden Dragon Magnus Fraiser did what he did, or why he still pretends to be on the side of humanity. It is also currently unknown how he knows Polaris Albert Cayenne’s identity as the Leader of the Tartarus Worshippers, and why he sided with Polaris despite knowing that.
  • Long-Lived: Has been around for more than a thousand years, and hasn't changed much in appearance since then. Golden Dragon Archduke Magnus Fraiser probably has many, MANY years left to live. Unless he dies by...unnatural means.
  • Meaningful Name: "Magnus", meaning "Greatest". Golden Dragon Magnus Fraiser is VERY powerful and has been around for over a thousand years, being an Archduke and serving as the Cayenne Kingdom’s Guardian Dragon.
  • Voluntary Shapeshifting: Can shift between his dragon form and a humanoid form at will.
  • Words Can Break My Bones: <Language Enchantment> can force the inflicted into doing whatever the user wants, or making them unable to do certain things like how Golden Dragon Magnus Fraiser made Eurydice unable to directly tell anyone about the secret of the world she had found out.

The Sword Saint John Howl and Aederius's master. She was also the one who taught Altair the Ancient Magics of Medea. She is also known as the Sorceress Elva Laren and the White Queen with her true identity being White Dragon Mnemoshuna, who happens to be Ice Dragon Merenia’s elder sister.

Tropes:

  • Ain't Too Proud to Beg: Despite her immense strength and being Aederius's master, White Dragon Mnemoshuna did not hesitate to tearfully beg Aederius to save the world and her kind...by killing all of the dragons, including she herself. She even constantly casted spells to reanimate her constantly-dying lizard body so she could tell him the secrets of the world, which she cannot normally do due to being forced to keep confidentiality unless she dies. She thought by telling him all of the secrets, she could convince the too-kindhearted Aederius to actually kill the dragons...only for Aederius to resolve not to after sharing memories of her with Ice Dragon Merenia, her younger sister.
  • Arch-Enemy: To the Tartarus Worshippers. They closely track her movements and are extremely wary of her.
  • Beauty Equals Goodness: Is extremely beautiful, and is very benevolent.
  • Because Destiny Says So: Urged Aederius to kill the dragons before The God of Demons Tartarus descends, because they are destined to become his servants once he descends. This includes she herself, something Aederius is NOT okay with.
  • But Now I Must Go: Her incarnation bade Altair a tearful goodbye before being forced to leave, regretting that she could not teach Altair more.
  • Connected All Along: She is the teacher of Princess Eurydice and Georgios, two of The Twelve Heroes from a thousand years ago in addition to being the teacher of Princess Altair and Aederius, two of the heroes of current times. White Dragon Mnemoshuna taught Altair the Ancient Magics of Medea and met with Zephyr when he was a small child. In addition, she served as Aederius's master and gave him Requiem before her incarnation's passing. A thousand years ago, Georgios obtained <The White Queen's Finger> from her, allowing him to seal Blue Dragon Artalis's power for ten years and giving Blue Dragon Artalis a weak point that Zephyr would later exploit to deal the fatal blow.
  • Cool Big Sis: Is this to Ice Dragon Merenia.
  • Curtains Match the Window: Has silver hair and silver eyes, like Zephyr.
  • The Determinator: For months on end, White Dragon Mnemoshuna would cast spells on her frequently-dying lizard body to tell Aederius more and more about the secret of the world during each death, as death was the only way to escape the confidentiality clause forced upon The Seven Dragons and the Tree of Life. She was unable to tell Altair why the dragons had to be killed, but thanks to unintentionally possessing that lizard body, White Dragon Mnemoshuna was able to tell Aederius using the aforementioned method.
  • Feathered Dragons: Her true form is this.
  • Gender-Blender Name: Dariel was confused by the "John Howl" name, what with the Sword Saint being a woman. Kiara speculated that that name originated from the swordsmanship style known as "Zornhauw".
  • Hammerspace: The <Earth's Cradle> skill acts as one, allowing one to hide any item within the alternate dimension in the ground. In addition, with her blessing, Aederius can use it too, albeit with restrictions.
  • Healing Factor: Seems to have one, judging by how Georgios was able to obtain <The White Queen's Finger> from her without her permanently losing one of her fingers, and by how the Silver Lion Mithril Armor Aederius wears is made out of her bones without her permanently losing her bones.
  • I Have Many Names: "Sword Saint John Howl", "Sorceress Elva Laren", "The White Queen", and "White Dragon Mnemoshuna".
  • The Master: To Princess Eurydice, Georgios, Altair, and Aederius.
  • Master of All: White Dragon Mnemoshuna appears to have been a master of multiple disciplines, if her nicknames "Sword Saint John Howl" and "Sorceress Elva Laren" are anything to go by.
  • Mentor Archetype: Is an excellent mentor to those she takes in, as seen with Altair and Aederius. The Sword Saint wished for Altair to find someone to be by her side and share her sadness, and Aederius dearly misses her.
  • Respected by the Respected: Respected by Aaron Lucas, the creator of the original list that became the first iteration of the ten strongest people in Aslan.
  • Sealed Good in a Can: She was sealed by Kaisaurus the Black Dragon a thousand years ago. However, she would send an incarnation out every hundred years to look for talents to groom.
  • Self-Duplication: Can send incarnations of herself out into the world despite she herself still being sealed. However, each incarnation has a time limit, and all of them have to return to her.
  • Strong and Skilled: Has both IMMENSE strength and IMMENSE skills in multiple disciplines. No wonder the Tartarus Worshippers are so wary of her.
  • Trapped in the Host: Not a willful possession, but just as the Sword Saint's most recent incarnation was about to return to the main body, her incarnation's soul was suddenly dragged into a lizard's body. A 12-year-old Aederius caught her shortly afterwards and was about to eat her. Her incarnation, while still trapped in the lizard's body, spent the next six years training Aederius before being forced to leave once more six months prior to Aederius entering Lindell Castle in both timelines.
  • Voluntary Shapeshifter: Can shift between her dragon form and a humanoid form at will.
  • "World's Best" Character: Was considered to be the strongest person in all of Aslan before her incarnation was forced to leave.

One of the eight most difficult challenges in the world. After being stirred and lured to West Cayenne by the Tartarus Worshippers, Blue Dragon Artalis made her nest at the water source of the river at the Danakil Plains, Aslan's largest granary. Due to the deadly poison Blue Dragon Artalis spews out, 80% of the farmland was eradicated in three years, with the remaining 20% being in danger of eradication in the next year.

Tropes:

  • Samus Is a Girl: Despite her appearance, Blue Dragon Artalis is actually female. Zephyr did not know this until he saw her humanoid form while Yggdrasil, the Tree of Life was transplanting Blue Dragon Artalis's Dragon Heart into him.
  • The Dreaded: Seeing as Blue Dragon Artalis is one of the eight most difficult challenges in the world, she definitely is this.
  • Person of Mass Destruction: Blue Dragon Artalis—by herself—wreaked havoc on the Danakil Plains, almost completely destroying it in three years and putting all of Aslan's food supply in serious danger.
  • The Plague: The disaster Blue Dragon Artalis brought about is treated as one, seeing as so many people died from the poisons coming from her. A medical relief station was set up to protect the farmers who lost their place and to reduce the suffering of anyone who was poisoned.
  • Poisonous Person: The poisons spewed out from Blue Dragon Artalis eradicated 80% of the farmland at the Danakil Plains in three years. The poisons cannot be purified by healers, and anyone unfortunate enough to be inflicted with said poison can only wait to die an agonizing death...until Zephyr showed up. However...
  • Not Evil, Just Misunderstood: It turns out Blue Dragon Artalis was never actually evil to begin with. She did not purposely seek to wreak havoc on the Great Elfen Forest and the Danakil Plains; she only came to the Lake of Life to heal herself. Blue Dragon Artalis was never a poison dragon to begin with, instead having been poisoned by the demonified Black Moon Ramiel. In other words, all she wanted to do was save her own life, and unintentionally brought about the disaster due to the demon's poison seeping out of her body. She has no immunity to the poison and was in constant agony for three years, only fighting the elves when they tried to attack her first and leaving them alone otherwise, despite dragons being territorial by nature and having territories vastly larger than the Great Elfen Forest.
  • Achilles' Heel: A thousand years ago, Georgios gave Blue Dragon Artalis one by driving <The White Queen's Finger> into her chest. <The White Queen's Finger> had sealed Blue Dragon Artalis's power for ten years, and remained as an unhealable wound a millennia later. In the previous timeline, Aederius—one of two members of Altair's vanguard party alongside Fade who could freely move within the poison fog—told Zephyr of the old wound. In the current timeline, after Zephyr tore open Blue Dragon Artalis's chest, he found the still-lodged <The White Queen's Finger> and later dealt the killing blow to Blue Dragon Artalis by striking <The White Queen's Finger>.
  • Action Girl: Extremely powerful with a VERY hands-on approach while fighting.
  • An Arm and a Leg: Dariel managed to sever Blue Dragon Artalis's right arm with the <Crimson Meteor> skill and three Black Dragon Arrows. However, Blue Dragon Artalis managed to pick up her severed arm and used <Language Enchantment> to turn her life force into a sword.
  • Attack Its Weak Point: Due to the insides of her mouth being much softer than her scales on the outside and having important blood vessels and nerves within her mouth, Zephyr initially targeted all of his attacks there to deal maximum damage until her breath pocket could be dealt with.
  • Because Destiny Says So: As with all the other Seven Dragons, Blue Dragon Artalis is plagued by an absolute mission that cannot be escaped unless she dies. That was why Zephyr had to kill her; if she hadn't been killed, the mission would have forced her into being hostile towards humans and loyal towards The God of Demons Tartarus. She was quite glad to be relieved of her mission after Zephyr killed her.
  • Blood Knight: Loves to fight. During their month-long fight in the previous timeline within the ritual space, Blue Dragon Artalis kept on attacking Zephyr and healing him before repeating the process over and over again until he finally defeated her. It was to the point that Zephyr decided that all who had taught him—Ned, Fade, and Blue Dragon Artalis—have issues with their personalities. However, thanks to Zephyr having already fought Blue Dragon Artalis in the current timeline before their meeting during the transplant, Blue Dragon Artalis felt no need to "train" Zephyr further.
  • Break the Haughty: Blue Dragon Artalis initially looked down upon the demonified Crimson Moon Masha and Black Moon Ramiel as "inferior beings" until Black Moon Ramiel poisoned Blue Dragon Artalis, she having to go to the Lake of Life to prevent herself from immediately dying.
  • Breath Weapon: Blue Dragon Artalis's <Dragon Breath> was strong enough to burn down parts of the Great Elfen Forest despite its immense vitality and Zephyr knew to dodge lest he be grievously harmed. Only after a dragonified Zephyr damaged her breath pocket with his own <Dragon Breath> did it become safe enough for the rear squad to attack Blue Dragon Artalis through the Mana Road.
  • Cape Wings: While in her humanoid form, Blue Dragon Artalis wears a cape that resembles her wings in her dragon form.
  • Cast from Lifespan: The <Dancing Blade of Death> skill burns away life force and defense in exchange for immense attack power. Blue Dragon Artalis only used it after resolving herself to perform her duty to Kaisaurus the Black Dragon by killing the one wielding Gram.
  • Commonality Connection: Realized that both she and Zephyr, as warriors, can see into each other's souls by clashing blades and from their clash, she decided that she liked him. Zephyr understood what she meant.
  • Decapitation Presentation: After Zephyr returned to the Third Parish of the Temple of Light upon killing the Basilico and the countless monsters it had summoned, he brought out Blue Dragon Artalis's head and presented it to Lucius, declaring they no longer had to worry about the disaster in Danakil. Priest Cornwall and Priest Benjamin stared in complete shock, mouths wide open as everyone else present also looked on in awe.
  • Eye Scream: What happened to Blue Dragon Artalis's left eye after Zephyr nailed it with the Stake of Faith.
  • From Bad to Worse: After Blue Dragon Artalis dove into the Lake of Life to recover the damage Zephyr and the rear squad dealt, the raging waves of poisonous water caused the corrupted Magic Flora Plants to create strong enemies that were the equivalent of Dungeon Bosses. One of them had impossibly-accurate aim up to 700 meters away while another teleported all of the strong enemies into the fort, putting the entire rear squad in horrendous danger.
  • Graceful Loser: Took her defeat against Zephyr really well, delighting in how her last ever battle was quite good and that as a warrior, she has no regrets. Blue Dragon Artalis gave Zephyr permission to use her power without a fuss and will be watching Zephyr alongside Kaisaurus.
  • Healing Hands: In the previous timeline, Blue Dragon Artalis healed Zephyr over and over again so she could continue fighting him and beating him up, all until he finally defeated her a month after their fight began.
  • Hope Spot: Just as it seemed that Blue Dragon Artalis would be able to attack Zephyr from behind while he was distracted with her newly-regenerated breath pocket, Zephyr unceremoniously nailed the Stake of Faith into Blue Dragon Artalis's head with Zephyr calling Blue Dragon Artalis "dead meat".
  • Humanizing Tears: For how monstrous and disastrous Blue Dragon Artalis had been, she deeply cared for her master Kaisaurus to the point that she cried twice for Kaisaurus: once while telling Georgios to leave lest she be forced to kill him for killing Kaisaurus, and again when Blue Dragon Artalis resolved herself to never forgive Georgios after seeing Zephyr wield Gram.
  • Incredibly Durable Enemies: Let's see...having her insides torn to shreds by Zephyr, enduring horrendous damage dealt by the rear squad through the Mana Road, being bombarded by countless Black Dragon Arrows, having her breath pocket destroyed twice, having her left eye gouged out by the Stake of Faith and later having the Stake of Faith go clean through her throat, losing her right arm, being subjected to a barrage of brutal strikes from Zephyr...and Blue Dragon Artalis is STILL strong enough to use <Language Enchantment> to wield her severed arm like a sword. And this is after being poisoned for three whole years. In the previous timeline, it took Zephyr an entire month to defeat Blue Dragon Artalis—albeit not while she was alive but after she possessed a body within a ritual space—due to Zephyr basically fighting her with memories of her prime (like when Zephyr fought Kaisaurus the Black Dragon with memories of his former self while Eurydice was transplanting the Dragon Heart into him).
  • Lady of War: Blue Dragon Artalis is an INCREDIBLY competent fighter with immense physical strength, strong telekinetic powers, a devastating <Dragon Breath>, and skillful swordsmanship. In addition, Blue Dragon Artalis is quite beautiful in her humanoid form.
  • Long-Lived: Blue Dragon Artalis had been alive for more than a thousand years. Blue Dragon Artalis has such a long lifespan that she initially did not realize that a thousand years had passed since she last saw Georgios and therefore the one fighting her could not have been Georgios.
  • Locked Out of the Loop: In addition, Blue Dragon Artalis never learned of Georgios's fate and therefore never learned of the other reason the one fighting her could not have been Georgios.
  • Mind over Matter: Blue Dragon Artalis's true power. She has strong telekinetic powers, able to forcefully eject a boosted and dragonified Zephyr out of her body as he was tearing her insides to shreds and would have utterly annihilated the entire rear squad had the Mana Road not quickly changed from being bi-directional to being uni-directional at the cost of reducing damage output. The only reason Blue Dragon Artalis did not immediately use her telekinetic powers was because of her immense agony from the demon's poison, but after she sobered up due to the intense damage Zephyr and the rear squad dealt, the Blue Dragon Raid truly began. Her telekinetic powers are so strong, she could easily snap the branches of the Tree of Life that are strong enough to easily support the weight of a huge dragon just by psychically controlling the contaminated Water of Life in addition to breaking the Black Dragon Chain, which could not be broken with brute force.
  • Mistaken Identity: Blue Dragon Artalis initially mistook Zephyr for Georgios due to Zephyr wielding Gram, Georgios's beloved sword.
  • My Master, Right or Wrong: Although Blue Dragon Artalis was grateful to Georgios for freeing her master Kaisaurus from the demon curse, she told Georgios to immediately leave her sight lest she be forced to kill Georgios for killing her master. Blue Dragon Artalis's loyalty as Kaisaurus's vassal prevented her from ever forgiving Georgios.
  • Only the Worthy May Pass: Only judges those who kill her to be worthy of her power. That was why Blue Dragon Artalis still tried to kill Aederius even though he was trying to negotiate with her in the previous timeline, and why she so readily gave Zephyr her power in the current timeline.
  • Scars Are Forever: Even after a thousand years, Blue Dragon Artalis could not regrow the horns Georgios cut off, nor could she ever heal the wound caused by <The White Queen's Finger>.
  • Strong and Skilled: Has both IMMENSE strength and IMMENSE skills. No wonder she proved such a tough opponent for Zephyr, even while poisoned for three whole years.
  • Together in Death: Finally reunited with Kaisaurus as Zephyr was getting her Dragon Heart transplanted into him. Blue Dragon Artalis was comforted by Kaisaurus's presence and was overjoyed to be with him again. That was one of the reasons why she handed Zephyr her power so easily.
  • Voluntary Shapeshifting: Can shift between her dragon form and a humanoid form at will. Blue Dragon Artalis did this in front of Zephyr for the first time as he was getting her Dragon Heart transplanted into him by Yggdrasil, the Tree of Life.
  • We Meet Again: Upon seeing Zephyr wielding Gram, Blue Dragon Artalis initially mistook him for Georgios. After the memory of the last time Blue Dragon Artalis saw Georgios flashed through her mind, she made the threat to kill into an oath.
    Blue Dragon Artalis: "Sword...That sword...You...again."
  • When She Smiles: Blue Dragon Artalis has a really beautiful smile, as seen when she told Zephyr he would find out what her favorite food is when he tastes it.
  • Words Can Break My Bones: Blue Dragon Artalis's <Language Enchantment> is so strong, Blue Dragon Artalis could freeze Zephyr in addition to the surrounding water droplets and leaves with just one 'stop' as well as preventing Zephyr from even opening the Silver Key. The 'stop' command would last for seven seconds, which would have been more than enough time for Blue Dragon Artalis to charge a <Dragon Breath> and fire it at Zephyr...had Dariel not fired two rounds of <Crimson Meteor>, severely wounding Blue Dragon Artalis. However, even after being severely wounded and later having her right arm severed, Blue Dragon Artalis managed to pick up her severed arm and once again used <Language Enchantment> to turn her life force into a sword.
  • Worthy Opponent: After finally remembering that it had been a thousand years since she last saw Georgios, Blue Dragon Artalis finally realized that the one fighting her could not have been Georgios. Before Zephyr dealt the killing blow, Blue Dragon Artalis acknowledged Zephyr as Georgios's successor.

One of the eight most difficult challenges in the world and the younger sister of White Dragon Mnemoshuna, the Sword Saint. After being stirred and lured to West Cayenne by the Tartarus Worshippers, Ice Dragon Merenia occupied the Great Port, the center of Western distribution.

Tropes:

  • Because Destiny Says So: As with all the other Seven Dragons, Ice Dragon Merenia is plagued by an absolute mission that cannot be escaped unless she dies. In the previous timeline, the mission forced Ice Dragon Merenia—as well as Golden Dragon Archduke Magnus Fraiser—into being hostile towards humans and loyal towards The God of Demons Tartarus.
  • Big Sister Worship: Absolutely ADORES her elder sister White Dragon Mnemoshuna, respecting her immensely and only ever holding fond memories of her.
  • Birds of a Feather: Aederius and Ice Dragon Merenia have so much in common, it's like they look into a mirror when they look at each other. That was why Aederius and Ice Dragon Merenia were able to get so close in the previous timeline and therefore the Ice Dragon Raid could not take place as Aederius made Ice Dragon Merenia his party's guardian deity. Unfortunately, their story did not have a happy ending, only ending in tragedy...
  • Blood Knight: Like Aederius, Ice Dragon Merenia LOVES to fight. When fighting him in the previous timeline, they got each other's blood pumping as they engaged in a spirited fight. Even after Ice Dragon Merenia defeated Aederius, he earned her respect to the point that she even asked him for his name.
  • Cuteness Equals Forgiveness: Despite having occupied the Great Port and threatening the south's stability, in the previous timeline, Ice Dragon Merenia was able to serve as the guardian deity of Aederius's party. Judging by how adorable Ice Dragon Merenia is and how Aederius blushed while she embraced him from behind, her cuteness probably contributed to Aederius accepting her in addition to their shared love for fighting and Aederius's desire to negotiate with dragons.
  • Cute Monster Girl: Definitely is this in her humanoid form.
  • Destructive Savior: Prevented Black Moon Ramiel's enhanced poison from spreading all over the continent in the previous timeline...by freezing the Great Elfen Forest and the Danakil Plains over, leaving the elves irrevocably homeless and making Danakil lose its role as resources for grains and such.
  • The Dreaded: Seeing as Ice Dragon Merenia is one of the eight most difficult challenges in the world, she definitely is this.
  • Evil Former Friend: Because this to Aederius and Altair after she was forced to serve The God of Demons Tartarus in the previous timeline. After Ice Dragon Merenia froze the Great Elfen Forest and the Danakil Plains to prevent the spread of Black Moon Ramiel's enhanced poison, she joined Altair's party and roamed countless battlefields with Aederius. However, after Tartarus's descent, she lost her will and was forced to become evil.
  • Feathered Dragons: Her true form is this.
  • Guardian Entity: Served as the guardian deity to Aederius's party in the previous timeline.
  • "I Know You're in There Somewhere" Fight: Aederius seemed to have one with Ice Dragon Merenia in the previous timeline, after she lost her will due to The God of Demons Tartarus's descent. However, judging by the Dragon Heart and the key-like flint left behind after the battle concluded, it's safe to say neither survived the encounter.
  • An Ice Person: Ice Dragon Merenia created an ice castle for herself at the Great Port and mainly uses ice to fight. There is a reason she is Ice Dragon Merenia.
  • Kill It with Ice: Her modus operandi. Beams and weapons of ice are her main offensive and defensive options, and she can use her ice breath to instantly freeze the Great Port to make her castle and later the Great Elfen Forest and the Danakil Plains to prevent the spread of Black Moon Ramiel's enhanced poison.
  • Meet Cute: Aederius's and Ice Dragon Merenia's first meeting in the previous timeline had them have the time of their lives as they fought each other, huge smiles on both of their faces as they enjoyed every moment. In fact, after Ice Dragon Merenia defeated Aederius, she asked for his name with that becoming the beginning of their magical winter. Too bad their ending only ended in tragedy...
  • The Nose Knows: Ice Dragon Merenia has such a good sense of smell, in the previous timeline, she could smell her sister White Dragon Mnemoshuna on him despite it having been at least six months since the last incarnation left. That was how she figured out that Aederius was one of the Sword Saint's disciples.
  • Odd Name Out: Is the only one who doesn't possess a color in her title. This is intentional, because of Ice Dragon Merenia not wanting to take the name of "White Dragon", since that title already went to her elder sister White Dragon Mnemoshuna.
  • Spontaneous Weapon Creation: Can manifest twin blades of ice in an instant for close-range combat in addition to numerous smaller blades for long-range attacks.
  • Storm of Blades: Can call forth a barrage of icy swords and rain them down on her foes in a ceaseless onslaught.
  • This Is Reality: In the previous timeline, Ice Dragon Merenia pointed out the flaws in Aederius's plan to destroy all of the Demon God Summoning Altars, since there are thousands with most of them in completely inaccessible places. Ice Dragon Merenia also pointed out that if Aederius's plan wholly depended on her for it to work, it was not a plan but a delusion. He would need to prove himself worthy if he wanted her to help him...which he did after she saw his resolve after being forced to kill Blue Dragon Artalis.
  • Underestimating Badassery: Claimed it would take Aederius 100 years before he could engage in a bare fistfight with her, and even gave him seven magic swords so he could fight her with them and Requiem. In three months, Aederius was able hit Ice Dragon Merenia in her dragon form with just Requiem.
  • Vapor Wear: In her humanoid form, her dress is so sheer, one can easily see what is underneath.
  • Voluntary Shapeshifting: Can shift between her dragon form and a humanoid form at will.
  • You Can't Fight Fate: Aederius and Ice Dragon Merenia tried so hard to do this in the previous timeline...only to ultimately fail as Ice Dragon Merenia lost her will regardless after The God of Demons Tartarus's descent. Even the gods cannot fight fate, which is why they have to await the one who will free them from their pathetic end, the Destroyer of Fate. Which is NOT Aederius.

One of the four dragons Princess Eurydice instructed Zephyr to hunt within six months. The Red Dragon, like the other Seven Dragons, has been around for over a thousand years and its Dragon Heart must be collected along with the others to obtain the power needed to prevent the end of the world.
