  • True Companions: Due to Altair's verification, she knows they are completely trustworthy. They, in turn, are completely loyal to her.

    Ophelia Amleth

Ophelia Amleth

Click here to see Ophelia while using her hidden powers

Altair's First Guardian Knight and one of the ten strongest people in Aslan. She serves as a gatekeeper to those wishing to court Altair, with only those who land an effective blow on her being allowed to have a conversation with Altair.

Tropes:

  • Action Girl: A very powerful person and is very involved with fights Altair is involved in.
  • Big Damn Heroes: The strange energy hidden within Fade's left arm left Ned feeling suffocated and dizzy...not unlike a Shoggoth. It left Ned paralyzed and vulnerable to a devastating strike...had Ophelia not ambushed Fade with a powerful kick before proceeding to paralyze Fade with a powerful scream.
  • Blatant Lies: Claimed she only intercepted Ned at the rooftop of Lindell Castle due to vaguely sensing something out of place, but Ned saw right through her lie; she had been following him since he was at the second floor of the east wing, which she revealed after he called her out on said lie.
  • Conveniently Unverifiable Cover Story: Who could possibly disprove Ophelia's cover story for Ned of him being her servant who slept in the stables for twelve years? None of the people who were surrounding the Third Parish of the Temple of Light could. Of course, Ned was not-too-thrilled with said cover story.
  • Death Glare: Gave one to Ned after she and Altair approached Zephyr and Ned. She did so due to his resemblance to his sister, who is the real Shadow Disciple.
  • Disapproving Look: Shot one to Ned and called him pathetic after he was traumatized by Elise's <Angel's Embrace> skill.
  • Drowning My Sorrows: Downed barrel after barrel of wine after thinking Altair no longer needed Ophelia now that she had Zephyr. Ophelia even admitted to drinking herself silly after "getting abandoned". It was amazing how Ophelia only ended up getting hungover the next morning and simply did not drop dead from alcohol poisoning.
  • Green Thumb: From the seeds she received from the elves, Ophelia grew a guardian plant that protected the entrance of the culvert and prevented the drugged priests from moving further even after they wake up from being knocked out by her.
  • Hellish Pupils: While using her hidden powers, Ophelia's eyes turn red as her pupils become slitted.
  • Kick Chick: When not using her sword, a lot of Ophelia's strongest attacks are her kicks with her able to cleanly slice huge boulders in half with a single kick and stop the stomp of a huge monster with a single raised leg.
  • Lady of War: Ophelia is one of the ten strongest people in Aslan and has beaten countless men who wished to marry Altair, and their proxies, without breaking a sweat.
  • Luminescent Blush: Had one of these due to being forced to hold hands with Ned—who was also flushing furiously—in order for the upgraded Mist Bracelets to hide them both as though they both were wearing a pair. Only gets worse once Ophelia is forced to dance with Ned to bypass the <Labyrinth Maker> Ned had set up in the sewer in the Third Parish of the Temple of Light to the point that Ophelia did not question Ned telling her that Zephyr came up with the dance conditions when in actuality, HE HIMSELF came up with them.
  • Magical Eye: Ophelia's eyes are the part of her with the highest stats on her body to the point that she is able to detect Ned even with both of his Mist Bracelets on, which only Legendary-Grade detection skills can do. In addition, due to stealth and curtain skills not working on her, the Real Shadow Disciple, Smiling Woman, had to slip away from her because Ophelia could not be fooled.
  • No-Sell: Cannot be fooled by any stealth skills, no matter how good they are. For instance, the Mist Bracelets could not hide Ned from her while he was cleaning up the Tartarus Worshippers staying in Lindell Castle, and Ophelia could see Leah Testarossa—who was once the Shadow Disciple but was promoted to official disciple after Ned's defection—for who she is no matter what form she takes. In addition, despite not possessing an Ocarina of Hypnosis instrument, Ophelia is still immune to the <Mind Corruption> and <Frenzy> skills of both Shoggoths and Basilicos.
  • Only the Worthy May Pass: Only allows the people she deems worthy to engage in the Blue Dragon Raid due to it being Altair's long-cherished wish. That was the real reason why Ophelia intercepted Ned; because she had yet to test him, and wanted to do so.
  • Strong and Skilled: Is both REALLY powerful and has a variety of techniques at her disposal. Ophelia can fight REALLY well both armed and bare-handed.
  • Sucks at Dancing: More like sucks at ballroom dancing, but after stepping on Ned's toes twelve times while trying to fulfill the Entrance Method of Even Numbers of Members of the <Labyrinth Maker> Ned had set up, Ned gave up and both went in by themselves.
  • Super-Scream: With just one powerful scream, Ophelia was able to paralyze the entire left side of Fade's body, leaving him vulnerable to Leona's Chain Prison skill and to being hit with a Skill Stone by Lucius.
  • Underestimating Badassery: After analyzing Zephyr's power, Ophelia believed him to be weak for someone who possessed a Dragon Heart. However, Altair pointed out that the Dragon Heart hadn't settled in completely, and Zephyr will become immensely more powerful once it does.
  • Undying Loyalty: Towards Altair. Ophelia loves Altair like a sister and does everything for her sake. That was why Ophelia was so depressed when Altair began spending more time with Zephyr.
  • The Worf Effect: Despite how powerful Ophelia is, she quickly lost all three bouts against Zephyr; Zephyr parried her sword in the first bout, Ophelia's strongest thrusts couldn't even penetrate his skin in the second bout, and Zephyr immediately disarmed and blasted Ophelia before putting a clawed hand behind her neck in the third bout.
  • "World's Best" Character: Considered to be the ninth of the ten strongest people in Aslan, after the Mercenary King Gladis was executed for treason.

    Philip Pilgrim

Philip Pilgrim

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/philip_pilgrim.PNG

The leader of one of the Top Three Merchantries, the Pilgrim Merchantry. He was one of Altair's sponsors and one of her three mentors who led her to become a pivotal figure for humanity. He confronted Zephyr at one of the parties at Lindell Castle along with Elise Brenta and his son Edwin. He and his son came from the Danakil Plains—Aslan's largest granary—and have been helping those affected by Blue Dragon Artalis, one of the eight most difficult challenges in the world.

Tropes:

  • Cheshire Cat Grin: Gave one to Ned as Ned tried to avoid Elise and her <Angel's Embrace> skill.
  • The Cynic: Sees the Temple of Light as scammers who didn't protect the Danakil Plains from war, unlike what the Temple of Light claimed to.
  • Excellent Judge of Character: Could see through Zephyr's <Transfiguration>—albeit it being much weaker than the Real Shadow Disciple's—in addition to immediately seeing his worth. He also realized that Zephyr was the one who chose Lucius and not the other way around, and that their master-servant would be reversed soon enough. Philip was right, except it already happened.
  • Family Business: What the Pilgrim Merchantry is to him and his son.
  • The Gadfly: Loves teasing younger people, especially Ned.
  • The Mentor: Philip advised Altair to pretend to be a princess of debauchery while growing her strength in the shadows, and that he would support her. This was to avoid interference from the Leader of the Tartarus Worshippers.
  • Non-Idle Rich: Used his vast wealth to support Altair.
  • Protectorate: Zephyr resolved to protect Philip from the Real Shadow Disciple, who killed him in his previous life. This is to vastly reduce the amount of sacrifices necessary to conquer the desert. Zephyr decided to keep Philip close, since putting him in the Silver Key would be a very bad idea with the last person the previous owner put in it going insane.
  • Proud Merchant Race: Is proud of being a merchant and is very good at being one.
  • Wealthy Philanthropist: Always brings back food with him when he visits the Danakil Plains—something that is very much appreciated by everyone—since their once-abundant farmland with rolling fields of grain was reduced to a desolate wasteland thanks to Blue Dragon Artalis.

    Edwin Pilgrim

Edwin Pilgrim

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/edwin_2.PNG

The young leader of one of the Top Three Merchantries, the Pilgrim Merchantry. He confronted Zephyr at one of the parties at Lindell Castle along with Elise Brenta and his father Philip. He and his father came from the Danakil Plains—Aslan's largest granary—and have been helping those affected by Blue Dragon Artalis, one of the eight most difficult challenges in the world.

Tropes:

  • Family Business: What the Pilgrim Merchantry is to him and his father.
  • Like Father, Like Son: Is a merchant, just like his father. Also, just like his father, he served Altair well.
  • Underestimating Badassery: Did not see Zephyr's worth at first while Philip and Elise did.

    Elise Brenta

Elise Brenta

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/elise_2.PNG

The Healer Captain of the Second Parish of the Temple of Light Lindell's Temple Knight Order. She confronted Zephyr at one of the parties at Lindell Castle along with Philip Pilgrim and his son Edwin.

Tropes:

  • Barrier Warrior: Elise's <Barrier of Light> skill was strong enough to completely block a huge energy blast coming from the Door of the Great Elfen Forest.
  • The Gadfly: Loves teasing young people, such as Ned.
  • Healing Hands: Given that she is a Healer Captain, she must be a phenomenal healer just like Arno. She proved so by keeping Zephyr well while his <Dragonification> was being upgraded.
  • Intimate Healing: What the <Angel's Embrace> skill is. By embracing someone, Elise can ascertain the health and physical characteristics of whoever is in her arms. Elise loves performing this procedure with men and women alike no matter who they are while the recipient is left UTTERLY TRAUMATIZED.
  • Lecherous Licking: While agreeing with Philip about Zephyr, Elise licked her lips in quite the lecherous manner.
  • Marshmallow Hell: Subjected a random person to one while drunk as the elves and humans were celebrating the saving of the Great Elfen Forest.
  • The Medic: Is the one for Altair and her companions.
  • Naughty Tentacles: One of her skills, the aforementioned <Angel's Embrace>, works by extending feelers that crawl all over the subject. Zephyr wanted Elise to just get it over with, and Ned was very reluctant and was utterly traumatized after Elise performed it on him. Aederius was horrified, Kiara shivered in revulsion as she questioned the necessity of such a procedure, and Dariel was straight-up annoyed. Meanwhile, Fade told Elise to screw off, declaring he isn't even an official member of Zephyr's and Altair's party before vanishing three seconds later.
  • Statuesque Stunner: Is taller than Zephyr and Ned, and is quite beautiful.
  • Status Buff: Right before the Blue Dragon Raid commenced, Elise—along with Altair and Kiara—casted strengthening spells on Zephyr. In addition, while Altair and her party were fighting Jingang after he had ambushed them as they were heading to the Third Parish of the Temple of Light from the Great Elfen Forest, Elise casted <Angel's Trumpet Song> on Dariel, boosting his attack power and movement speed, allowing him to keep up with Jingang.

    Lady Katie

Lady Katie

One of Altair's servants. While Altair was engaging in the Blue Dragon Raid, she had Lady Katie pretend to be her and travel in a luxurious carrage to do shopping and sightseeing to preserve Altair's image as a princess of debauchery.
