This page seems to have decayed badly, with many obsolete points and some that are simply wrong. Besides including a lot of spoilers, it discusses some things in more detail than needed for trope appreciation. (They do have their own wiki!) Something where I'm not sure of local usage is that it includes folders for alphabet ranges (e.g. A to F) which then include folders for the individual letters. Is this the proper way to handle Very Long trope lists?

What happened to the Main/ namespace for this article? I swear; there WAS one before! Ruined Forever!

Also, is it just me or does the whole description need to be massively rewritten? There seems to be way too much specific or esoteric information listed and I'm sure a lot of stuff can be cut-out completely or heavily summarized. There's also lots of out-of-date or obsolete info. For example, is all the stuff in the description about "Classic" mode and all that still relevant? It's been a few years.

I dunno, consider this page from the viewpoint of someone not super familiar with Minecraft. I can understand having a lot of detailed and esoteric info in the trope example list, but not right up front in the description.

I'd go ahead and start editing it myself but I didn't want to step on any toes.

Should we add Drinking Game as one of the sub pages? Minecraft has a lot of Drinking Game potential.

I think we should add a recap page. I already had this idea last week or earlier to describe important landmarks in history and hopefully enlighten the outdated examples, but I think now more than ever we need information describing what's happening to Minecraft. Top priority with it should be to mark the day Microsoft bought the game.

Difficult, but Awesome: I removed the bow because, by this point, it's just a bow. It's not particularly awesome or, indeed, difficult, by the standards of any modern game.

Awesome, but Impractical, Awesome Yet Practical, Boring, but Practical... at some point are going to have every block and item in the game listed in one of these tropes? We need to either trim it down to archetypal examples or cut the whole mess before it takes over the article.

• Diamond equipment is difficult to craft thanks to the rarity of the materials. Diamond tools are fairly practical due to their high durability, but diamond armor is something you will rarely craft, due to scarcity of materials and the fact that it's not that much more durable than iron.

• Who Forgot the Lights?: Intentional example. The creator wants to make sure that you don't wander off too much in the night or in caves so there is no Hollywood Darkness for you. You'll need to make torches to light up an area so you can see, and to keep monsters from spawning.
  • As of Beta 1.8 nighttime light levels more closely resemble an actual moonlit night...caves and such are still dark, however. There's also a brightness slider that takes it from "Moonlit night" to "Night vision with less green" and makes caves bright enough to determine whether that bouncing shape is a creeper or a zombie without squinting at the screen.

Things what used to be in the game but what got removed are things what isn't a trope anymore, as I understand it.

Should the Ender Dragon on the character page still be under spoilers at this point? Most of the tropes listed for it, even its own name, is all marked with a spoiler tag. The dragon doesn't even have anything spoiler worthy in the game.

Has anyone else had DREAMS about Minecraft? One I had was of a 'new addition' to Minecraft, the Enderspider. They were like wolves, except they looked like a cross between the Endermen and Cave Spiders. Then suddenly at the end of the dream, I saw a flaming Creeper head (the fire was blue) against a carpet on the wall. I'm pretty sure that was inspired by a Machinima video showing a Creeper drink.

Why was the Take That entry removed? Where else could it be if there isnt even a Notch page to place it?

Can we please take some stuff off the High Octane Nightmare Fuel page and put it into a Accidental Nightmare Fuel page, or remove some of it all together. I mean, seriously, most of the content is Accidental Nightmare Fuel, and some of it is found to be scary by the poster of the example and no-one else.

Like this entry. Totally High Octane: Dungeons. first of all, they are made of Cobblestone and Moss Stone, Secondly they have a Mob Spawner inside which "Has a 50% chance to be Zombies, a 25% chance to be Skeletons and a 25% chance to be Spiders." and lastly, they are the only way to get Moss Stone, Saddles and Cocoa Beans without modding.

I'm really dubious about the current quote at top. It doesn't say a thing about the game except that "it's addictive and leaves you to your own devices", and only the latter point is really germane.

Mind discussing about the End Poem?? its a take that against the people who insisted in having Minecraft with storyline or meaning?? did they just told the people that the meaning of the game is just up our imagination in the most bizzarre way?

I Don't think that Minecraft is anywhere near Nintendo Hard. 3 of the 5 enemies die in sunlight, Creepers can be prevented by making walls out of cobblestone and heading for high ground when leaving the home. I'm removing that part.

Would Silverfish count more as Wall Master or Chest Monster? They DO hide as scenery like Wall Master, but they still share characteristics with Chest Monster.

What should be done about the Aether mod's tropes? Should we make a page for them or not do anything about it?

I feel the category "Game Breaking Bug" doesn't really apply to a game in Beta let alone references to when the game was in Alpha or pre-Alpha. Should the category be deleted or delete out of date bugs?

I think the Minecraft page needs a fanfic rec since their happens to be some fanfics out there.

What's this thing about the ghast coming from a creepypasta? The wiki doesn't say anything about it.

Are Spiders really Demonic Spiders? They're barely above Zombies in terms of actual combat capabilities. The main issue they seem to create is that you have to build open-roof structures somewhat differently to keep them from bothering you. I'm suspicious that their inclusion is at least partially based on a literal interpretation of the trope title.

I have made the character page, but it needs pictures, more tropes and some dead links need fixing. It has all the good and bad mobs, plus the player character.

Somebody edited in "The Invisible" under the Urban Legend of Zelda article here. I've never heard of it. Can anyone provide a link to the source?

Someone needs to add "Guide Dang It" to this topic. I'm doing a usability test of Minecraft for a graduate class, and I've had had literally zero test subjects get past building a workbench/Crafting Table without looking at the walkthrough (which isn't allowed during the test) or asking for help from one of the test moderators. Until we changed the level of difficulty to Peaceful, every test subject got killed by monsters because they didn't know how to make torches.

I wonder how many things in this game have Violation of Common Sense.

Magcargo Man Do you think that there should be a character page, for the mobs. For example, Creepers would have: Ensemble Darkhorse, Made of Explodium and Demonic Spider.

Is it worth adding entries about Mods? I mean we have a Game Mod entry now, but with all the mods out there, there's a real risk of a flood of entries that have nothing to do with the vanilla game.

a troper by the name of "dancnbna" just deleted a huge chunk of entries. The only reasoning provided was "I thank that thing at the top". Can anyone explain exactly what this is referring to and exactly why it justifies such a huge deletion?

It's mentioned that you get the later versions of the game free when you buy Beta, but as far as I know, that was only true with the Alpha version. Has new information come out, or was that just an error left over from when it was describing Alpha?

on "Dummied Out": I swear that articles are supposed to represent what's true at the latest version of the subject. Now that Fishing Rods do have a purpose, shouldn't the article be edited to reflect that?

I'd really like to nuke fully three fourths of the "crowning moment of awesome" section, and not just because it inherently offends me that none of them are actually 'moments' (to say nothing about suggesting there's anything remotely good about skeletons riding spiders...*shudder*) but that'd kind of be a dick move, not to mention I suck at repurposing information, so I figured I should try the democratic process.

Does minecraft really have a "lovely" community? It didn't the last time I checked. It has been saturated by people under the age of 14 recently, and the general atmosphere is one of mixed hostility, ignorance, and ambivalence.

I'm considering adding a That One Cave entry to this page. Who hasn't suddenly faced three levels of unlit cave, one of which is a pit of doom being filled with water as zombies drop upon you from the top level?
