I felt that it didn\\\'t, since there were many reasonable ways it could be taken, and more light would likely be shone on it when Gil and Phil met, or when Gil was reunited with Klaus. This, on the other hand, seems like the equivalent of cutting out an edit for just \\\'\\\'calling\\\'\\\' it a parable.
