Cuz it refers to fandomwide trends.
I do some cleanup and then I enjoy shows you probably think are cringe. You know. Both Jimmy Two Shoes and Kick Buttowski: Suburban Daredevil do count as Western Animation ship on Heloise/Kick part. I did remember seeing this ship back on Deviant Art which also has a no-longer-updating comic called Zoomsday. Not sure what happened to that comic. That has been left out for unknown reasons.
Edited by ElectroSpanzI Think we need to remove many of the links provided in the examples. Many of them leads to either defunct pages or even outright viruses.
Hide / Show RepliesReally? I know about dead links, but viruses — that surprises me. These should be removed pronto.
Does anyone like the idea of Bubbles from powerpuff girls pairing up with nergal junior from the grim adventures of billy and mandy??
Hide / Show RepliesThis example is poorly written. It doesn't say which characters were teased or paired canonically. It should be re-written before adding again. (Also, don't pothole characters to their respective works. It's not reader-friendly.)
- Oddly, Amuro (or Hiroshi) never seem to get paired up with Murrue (Mobile Suit Gundam SEED), Tonya, or Vega. Vega's married, but the other two...
glad im not the only one who do this :) also ¿what are the requisites for a ship to appear as an example?
¡PONLE QUE DIGA!:"¡HUMONGOSAURIO HASTA LA MUERTE!" Hide / Show RepliesBasically, someone thought of it. If you add an example, ideally provide link to fan fic or fan art as "proof" that fans really dig it.
The Robin/Jubilee example has a note saying "Made Hilarious in Hindsight due to the fact that the two were combined in the Amalgam Universe to become Sparrow."
Is it really hindsight when it happens two months later as part of a spin-off from the same story?
Edited by 86.138.215.10- Jack Sparrow of Pirates of the Caribbean paired with Ariel of The Little Mermaid existsas well.
Non-working links.
deleting natter.
- Amusingly, fans use Excellen Browning's off-hand comment about not minding if it's Femme Fatale Viletta Vadim to ship the two of them. Then, there's the case of Excellen with Lamia Loveless...
Some of the ships on the page are crazy. Although I must say I've been guilty of having these sorts of ideas. One such idea being pairing up Rarity with Dark Magician Girl.
Hide / Show RepliesDo real life people paired up with fictitional characters count as well? I've been seeing a lot of Lady Gaga/Canada fanart on Deviantart
I'm driving down Highway 40 in my big old pickup truckI have a fan pairing I adore.
Mavis (From Hotel Transylvania) and Sam (From Dear Dracula). I mean, Sam is Dracula's biggest fan so it would kinda make sense he'd want to hook up with his daughter.
(Although it would be impossible for the Draculas in the two universes to be the same one.)
And a follow up couple would be Jonathan and Emma.
Edited by MissIlovemoviesThe unique nature of how Continuity in Comics works means you need outright opposing companies to count. Otherwise Superman/Wonder Woman's popularity would be the textbook example. And Else-worlds tales have made it Semi-Canon.
Edited by MithrandirOlorinTroper Tales was moved to it's own wiki. Just click on Troper Tales.
^Not actually my favorite animal. That's what I want to know. There are plenty of works — and not just fanworks — where these pairings are canon, and it's annoying to be told to move them to the YMMV tab when you know the example in question isn't just a fanmade pairing.
Not to mention, the question of whether a pairing involves characters that are associated with entirely different works from each other isn't subjective. Maybe it got auto-tagged YMMV because it's primarily a fanfic trope?

In universe examples of YMMV tropes are allowed on the main page.
Edited by fawn ^Not actually my favorite animal.A Bionicle/Friendship Is Magic crossover idea I have:
Edited by CaptainhookI actually have a fan character that could best be described as "The love child of Tsubaki and Double D," The next thing I said was "Holy crap...I'd love to see that pairing!"
Why is this a YMMV trope?
