I just noticed something odd on the recent edits for Hamlet that I've seen occasionally: really odd markup, by Angeldeb82.
These edits seem to be perfectly functional, but peculiar - e.g., changing Trope Namer to Trope Namer. I don't even understand what that markup is or what it's supposed to do, or why the two links in the last sentence LOOK identical.
I'm not sure there's actually anything "wrong" here, but I thought I'd bring it up, and I'm curious as to what the rationale behind this rather arcane markup is in the first place.

Should separate pages be made for each book of The Dresden Files?

There is a troper called prosecutor 4 who claims to be the author of The Adventures Of Archie Reynolds and blanked several related pages.

A user named Mefista recently tried to delete all the slash recs from The Dresden Files Fic Recs page, citing: "I am sickened by internet" and "I will be banned for removing all this...sickening stuff.I regret nothing."
Can this person please be banned? I don't appreciate the wholesale deletion of half a page for homophobic reasons, nor being called "sickening".

Is it OK to restore The Adventures Of Archie Reynolds in its correct namespace after an aggressive debilification, and ask for a lock in order to prevent the bile from returning? The Main/ article was cut-and-locked for excessive bile but I've sandboxed a better version here. Also, it worked for Maradonia Saga.

The troper, Pacific Mackerel, has been adding non-constructive edits to the House of Scorpion page. I forgot my edit reasons when I removed his additions, but he's since put back his old edits. I would like to hear what the tropers have to think of it. I'll provide my own reasons for removing his additions here:
1) "His early imprisonment by a grocer is a variant of a Whole-Plot Reference."
My reason for removing it: this doesn't strike me as something that was present in the story. The trope for Whole-Plot Reference describes it to be a "full blown recreation of someone else's story", whereas the event described only lasts for one chapter and doesn't satisfy the criteria outline by the trope.
2)"Anti-grav tech is also common."
This description is not consistent with what is present in the novel, and is part of a second bullet that sounds like [edit] shoehorning.
Any feedback would be appreciated as to whether or not I should either A) delete those points or B) integrate them more smoothly into the main bullet...thanks!

I just created a new page for a trilogy of books, The Avatar Chronicles, having done some searching for both the trilogy name and then the first book's title, "Epic", and finding nothing. After adding some examples, I decided to search for the author's name, recalling that I once added it as an example somewhere. Then I see that there is, in fact, already a page for the trilogy, here.
So, I'm very unfamiliar with page naming/deleting/redirecting... is it possible to A) Have the page I created deleted? B) Have Epic be changed so that the page is for the trilogy title, The Avatar Chronicles, instead of "Epic", but keep "Epic" as a redirect since the first book is the most popular and probably would be what they'd first search for?

There's a bit in Livy's _The War With Hannibal_ where Scipio Africanus shames a guy called Masinissa into doing what he wants (briefly) by lecturing him on self-control, which leads me to wonder, does controlling someone with a speech on self-control constitute irony?

How far does No Such Thing as Notability extend? Because I found a rather interesting book on amazon.com called Of Snail Slime, but near as I can tell, there's no record of it anywhere else on the internet. Would it be wrong to make a page for it?

The Inheritance Cycle page is locked, but the new (and last) book came out on November 8th, and I've already finished it and I know there are things to add. Is there anything we can do about that?

Trying to work out the best trope for Allanon in the Shannara series. He's not quite up to Magnificent Bastard levels but maybe falls somewhere between the Chess Master and Manipulative Bastard tropes? The description I've come up is :-
"Allanon serves the greater good but has no problems manipulating people, lying to them directly or by omission, using intimidation or outright threats to get them to do what is needed and never tells them anything he doesn't think they need to know."
Any suggestions?

More like a mythology matter. Can Athena, the goddess, work as a Yamato Nadeshiko. She is graceful, obedient to Zeus, trustfull , instructed in house hold matters such as birth and weaving. While she dislikes violence she is still the goddes of war. Its seems she fits in the Yamato Nadeshiko description. All versions of the greek stories agree on giving her those characteristics. On the con side she is quite revengeful when angered, like what happened with arachne and medusa.
Hmm... sounds like I´m giving a lecture on greek mythology to fourth graders. Anyway , what do you people think? If not, why not? On a side discussion, was she stronger than Zeus but obedient as told by her birth myth?

Is there a policy for re-naming works pages? I'm specifically asking because the Firebird Trilogy has a fourth book coming out this year, and a fifth one slotted to come out next year, so calling it a trilogy isn't really accurate anymore. Can I just change the name to Literature.Firebird Series (keeping Literature.Firebird Trilogy as a redirect)?

Longtime reader, first-time contributor here. I want to flesh out a page for a novel (the page exists but it is blank). Where do I share my ideas/rally additional contributors? Basically, what's the starting point for launching a work's page?

I have a situation I want to trope, but I don't know where to put it.
In the first Ranger's apprentice book, Will and Halt are on their way to the gathering, and Halt has warned Will that Gillian will try to best his former master. When Gillian does come Halt makes no attempt to hide from Him, and Gillian thinks after all these years he has finally bested Halt, they have a short exchange about apprentices and masters, wherein Halt puts emphasis on the word apprentice, and then Will shoots an arrow into a tree a foot from Gillian's head.
It's not verbatim so it can't be the stock phrase Arn'tYouForgettingSomeone I don't know where to put it

I wrote a review for The Stormlight Archive a while ago, but when it got moved the the literature namespace, the review disappeared. I'm assuming its still where it used to be. Can a mod move that over?

I'm not sure where to post this, but I just had to express my appreciation about what an amazing, astonishing resource resource this website is. I'd bookmarked it for fun and for research. Andd then I saw...myself! I was listed as the author of the UNDEAD series, along with a description of Betsy the Vampire Queen and, purely on an unconscious level<g>, a bunch of the tropes I had infused the UNDEAD series with (Fluffy the Terrible, Our Werewolves are Different, A Chat with Satan, etc.). Finding myself here (not to mention several of my books) made my month! Thank you again!

Why is the page for The Adventures Of Archie Reynolds closed and locked, and the liveblog gone? Is it because of the mocking tone, similar to Maradonia Saga?
So, a Mistborn video game was announced today. Considering that the series now consists of a trilogy, a stand-alone sequel taking place centuries later, and a video game, with more novels planned but not yet announced, it seems like a good idea to turn the Main.Mistborn page into a franchise page and split the individual works onto their own pages.
However, that's obviously a major change, and I don't want to make it unilaterally. So where should I bring it up? Here? TRS? Special Efforts? Just go ahead and do it myself?
