Have a question about how the TVTropes wiki works? No one knows this community better than the people in it, so ask away! Ask the Tropers is the page you come to when you have a question burning in your brain and the support pages didn't help.
It's not for everything, though. For a list of all the resources for your questions, click here. You can also go to this Directory thread

openNo Examples Allowed Fanspeak Terms in Trope Lists Anime
Some Anime Fanspeak is currently No Examples Allowed; examples are required to be listed on more general trope pages. Examples include Dojikko->Cute Clumsy Girl and Kuudere->Sugar-and-Ice Personality. Does that also mean that we are also not supposed to put, for example, Dojikko or Kuudere, on trope lists?
By the way, currently Kuudere lists three subtypes. I understand referring to subtypes is not allowed, but would such a write-up be acceptable in Sugar-and-Ice Personality?
- Alice in The Adventures Of Alice And Bob is similar to the "always in control" type of Kuudere. [Elaborationon how and why she does this, and her sugary moments follows.]
openGiant Floating Ribbon Anime
Why do some Anime character have a giant floating ribbon around them? Like one of the star spirits in Paper Mario, or the mermaid Princess in One Piece, or Kougyoku Ren, the 8th princess from the manga/anime Magi?
openTrigun "Word of God" source? Anime
The trivia section under the Trigun tropes page has a "Word of god" section which states that The author of Trigun has said that Vash and Wolfwood aren't a couple. Is there any source or quote that supports this? Here is the link; https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Trivia/Trigun
I looked everywhere for an interview or quote from the author that said this but I can't find anything.
openWhy Doesn't Teekyu have its own page? Anime
For some reason, whenever I try to search the series Teekyu on this site, all results get redirected to the forums or its animation studio. Why doesn't this series have a proper page, despite existing for three years and seven seasons?
openVoice-Actor roles Anime
Disney Animefan 95 sorted the roles on several voice actor pages based on the studio that worked on them. I reverted it with the reason that voice actor roles don't need to be categorized by studio. They put it back in and sent me a notifier about indentation issues even though my edit had nothing to do with indentation. Then I sent them a PM explaining several reasons why and even opening up to a private discussion between us, but they just sent a curt reply stating that the info shouldn't be changed and didn't give any further explanation.
Some of the pages in question: https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/article_history.php?article=Creator.LaurenLanda https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/article_history.php?article=Creator.ToddHaberkorn https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/article_history.php?article=Creator.CheramiLeigh

Gush.Puella Magi Madoka Magica read like forum thread. All entries violate This Troper in one way or another, and the first entry is very classic case of natter, with the first editor making another bullet post to say how they agree with second one.
Now, it seem to me that this one should be send to cutlist. But I don't know much about gushing pages...

An alphabetization question: on the page for ×××HOLiC (which should display ×××HOLiC, in case the custom title is bugging [again]) is specified:
- The name is pronounced "holic", by the way. The "×××" basically denotes "insert something here", along the lines of "___holic" in English.
As such, where should it be alphabetized? It seems to most often ends with "X", which seems to be wrong. Should it be "H", or should the "×××" considered symbol/special characters, which go first (even before numbers) if I'm not mistaken...?

I'm planning to move Saenai Heroine No Sodatekata to an English title per current policy. While I understand priority should be given to the title used by the English-licensed form of the source medium (in this case, light novel), and that form exists, the English title used by the licensed anime is nearly the same, only with the addition of an Portmanteau Series Nickname, i.e.:
- Anime title: Saekano: How to Raise a Boring Girlfriend
- Light novel title: How to Raise a Boring Girlfriend
In this case, using the anime title does not appear to me to violate the said "source medium priority." Can the form used on Wikipedia be used as a tie-breaker in such a case?

There's some... odd pages in regards to fics for Anime.Pretty Cure that I've found.
- Characters.Pretty Cure Original Characters: Seems to be a page for OCs, presumably from various fics. Just... really weird. Seems harmless enough, but... odd. Orphaned subpages aren't normal, after all.
- RoleAssociation.Cure Fics and RoleAssociation.Cure Fics JP: Okay, this is baffling. They're fanfics, how can Role Association possibly be involved?

A query: Asu no Yoichi! is one manga title that should be moved to its English official title. My first thought was that it should be Samurai Harem. However, checking Wikipedia points out the actual licensed title is "Samurai Harem: Asu no Yoichi", which is serious Department of Redundancy Department in my opinion. Which one do you think should be used on TV Tropes?

Should the characters from the Durarara sequel, Durarara SH, be put on the Durarara Novel Only page or should I make a new one? I'm asking this because the page is completely empty since all the characters have now shown up in the Anime.

So, Namespace/example question. If a work has an adaptation as a redirect, are we allowed to link to that redirect/include the adaptation on trope lists? In other words, if something came out in one medium and had an adaptation in another, should it be listed twice (in the original's namespace as well as the adaptation's)?
I ask because Sam Curt made this topic insisting that it's not allowed, which seems... off. Firstly it's useful in case the Original/Adaptation pages get split, and even if they don't get split, context between the two may very well be different.
He says he's confirmed it with staff, but literally the only discussion I can find on it is here where crazysamaritan (who is not staff, just a good troper as far as I know) makes a statement related to Sam Curt's question but certainly not to the extent that he's made it out to be. It could be in P Ms or a discussion page, but I can't find it.

A copy/paste from a query I made about Fan-Preferred Couple on its discussion page:
The guidelines for what counts as a fan-preferred couple apply to works' YMMV pages too, yes or no? Asking since Digimon Adventure tri. has some examples and the last one starts off with "Of course, there are many other fan preferred pairings in the fandom as well" and then lists off other couples with characters already previously mentioned... which I assume defeats the purpose of the trope.

Back on the 27th of of December, Tropers/Starjewel took some of the individual lines in YMMV.Ojamajo Doremi and moved them up. Here's the poage history.
For example:
They changed this:
* Ensemble Dark Horse:
- Non-chan and Fami from Naisho got only one episode each, but both had a massive following. The former for being one of the biggest woobies and the latter giving way to many theories about the future.
- Marina and Sachiko. Although they were just side characters and haven't been featured in an episode together, they seem to be popular characters because they were featured on more merchandise than even Majo Rika and Lala.

I messaged them about it immediately after finding out (i.e. just a few minutes ago). Is this kind of indentation kosher?
[Edit] I seriously need to figure out how to make these properly here...
[Edit] I was the one who made some of the original indentations before starjewel altered them. I haven't reverted them because I want to avoid an edit war.

This entire Trope is in need of clean-up. I just spend about twenty minutes trying to remove obvious natter so I could post something, but it was a colossal mess. tThat's why I'm posting it here.

This troper seems to be making a lot of nattery, dub-bashing edits to the Pokemon anime, particularly in the case of the TPCi dub.

I've begun the daunting task of de-natterizing and removing blatant anime-bashing from the Yu-Gi-Oh anime's page.
So far I have made it past the A section.

I watched these cartoons when I was little. I can't remember their names? One were of this egyptian girl, in her teen age. In the starting she is riding a cart through desert and then streets. The other were of this magician who flips his cards, sometimes vanishes or to hurt others. and other one of these girls/fairies using their magical powers to save their school i guess, there is a war. Another one were, that there is a spaceship as a safe house, and soldiers/protectores, they ride dragons, and often visit dangerous planets. In one episode there was an attack on that ship.
