The TVTropes Trope Finder is where you can come to ask questions like "Do we have this one?" and "What's the trope about...?" Trying to rediscover a long lost show or other medium but need a little help? Head to Media Finder and try your luck there. Want to propose a new trope? You should be over at You Know, That Thing Where.
Find a Trope:
openFire revives Big Bad? Anime
Do we have this one?
Fire revives the Big Bad / Dark Lord on Life Support who was killed by the protagonists, effectively giving him a new body but retaining previous memories.

Is there a trope/trivia for a (book) series that gets increasingly more detailed and multi-threaded as it approaches the ending, with the end result that each new installment covers half of the in-story time that the previous one in the same volume of text?
Edited by KoverasopenPre Rape Taunt
I know we already have Post-Rape Taunt for the mocking after effect but what about if a villain threatens to rapes the protagonists Love Interest.
What does that go under?
openStrangled to death?
Is there a trope about a person getting choked or strangled to death? Closest thing i found was Choke Holds
openOne side of a conflict has already won, the other side just can't or won't admit it
I can only think of Real Life examples so would prefer not to list if possible.
Edited by BootlebatopenOddly Apropos BGM
When Background Music that *wasn’t* specifically composed for a work has some oddly appropriate themeing in lyrics and subject-matter
Think how every background song played in An American Werewolf in London has the word “Moon” in the title, or how the radios in all of the Fallout games (all taking place in a Nuclear Wasteland After the End) are full of songs like “Uranium Fever”, “Atom Bomb Baby”, and “I Don’t Want to Set the World on Fire”

He's not an vigilante or an private investigator. Occasionally, could be having an normal day and then a crime happens. He figures out why it occurs, finds the perp and leave him for the cops to take the credit while he goes on his way.
openAudience disappointed by backstory
An audience reaction where the story reveals some character's backstory and they find it underwhelming or ruining the character. Often you can have this where the villain has a Freudian Excuse revealed and you have an out-of-universe version of Disappointed by the Motive, whether it's because the character comes out as Unintentionally Unsympathetic or just that it makes a villain who seemed serious and terrifying come off as petty, or as just being manipulated by someone else rather than making their own decisions. Or the backstory just seems ridiculous and over-the-top. Though this doesn't have to be with a villain, it can be any time a revealed backstory is hated by fans because it's seen as undermining the character.
openCan small children qualify under The Ditz trope?
Just wondering because the general consensus of prepubescent children is that they are naive and simplistic, but it would be quite insulting to call them "stupid" or "ignorant". Do you think it's possible for a little child character to qualify under The Ditz trope, or probably not because naivety is children's general nature? (By the way, I don't count Ralph Wiggum since he seems to be at least 8, the age at which children become slightly more experienced and prepared for their pre-teens).
openCybernetic Return
When the bad guy is defeated and also suffers major injuries from the fight, more often than not being presumed dead, only to have what he's lost - and sometimes more - replaced with technological pieces and parts to come back for a rematch (i.e. Mecha Frieza; only example that comes to mind)
openDisguise slips from a sneeze/cough/etc.
eroock asked about a non-supernatural variant on Glamour Failure here, but I have a trope question that spins off from this. Do we have a trope for when someone who is in disguise coughs, sneezes, or does something of the like and it causes their disguise to slip, especially if it happens repeatedly? The visual reference I have is this◊.
openNon-supernatural GlamourFailure
Glamour Failure is when a supernatural being fails to keep up a disguise. I am looking for the same trope for muggles, when their disguise is foiled like in One Hundred And One Dalmatians when the water drops reveal the dalmations' true fur color under the dirt. Watch it here.
Edited by eroockopenStandard-issue asymetrical cybernetic head
A character who has either the top-left or top-right part of their head replaced with cybernetics. The other side of their face, and the region around the mouth, have minimal-to-no (visible) cybernetics in them. Examples include Cyborg from DC Comics, most Borg drones from Star Trek, (as well as any parodies or expies of them, e.g. the Grox from Spore.) Deathlok from Marvel comics, Spades Slick from Homestuck, Markov from Evolve, and Dr. N. Gin from Crash Bandicoot. Additionally, Cyborg Superman would be an inverted example, since the upper-right region of his face is the only organic part of it.
openUnique Ally Videogame
If there can be a Unique Enemy in games, then why not a Unique Ally too?
openKnows people?
Where a character is The Team Normal yet knows superpowered people that can save the day.
Sort of like this:
Alice: What can we do?! We need to fix this!
Bob: I know a guy who can fix it.
- the thing is fixed by the guy who Bob called, who usually has powers*
Alice: Wow, you surly have contacts!
openPointless/Insane Rant
Alice, often a Cloudcuckoolander, is talking/yelling to one or more characters for an extended period of time on some ridiculous subject, such as how the government is putting mushrooms in their tinfoil or why you should never buy 2% milk. Often uses gratuitous amounts of Insane Troll Logic.

The villain is a jew who runs a human trafficking network. The Jewish community reviles him: the rabbi does not talk to him, he is not allowed at the synagogue, jewish shops do not sell anything to him or accept him as a customer, his family is not allowed to be buried in Jewish cemeteries... which is the trope for this?
