@Realism-Induced Horror

  • One of the reasons that Nineteen Eighty-Four is one of the most chilling books ever written is because of how plausible the setting is; governments that spy on their citizens, suppress and censor information, erase people from the historical record, and kill and brutalize political dissent have existed throughout history and continue to exist into the present.

For Kuukiyomi:

  • Porn Stash: Played with in the 81st situation of ‘’Kuukiyomi 2: Consider It More! -New Era-''. The player controls the bassist from the punk rock band, who also takes a new part time job in the moving company. The situation takes place when there's a female worker behind him and he has to pick up either a big box of books or a small box of father's DV Ds (which is implied to be this). The answer? Pick up the "father's DVD" box, because there's a possibility that the box that says "father's DVD" doesn't contain porn or even DVDs. But instead, the actual porn DVDs are put into a big box that has "Books" written on it. People who own porn works never put them in a box that blatantly says "DVDs"/"porn CDs".

So, this is what the fix-up of the passage look like?

  • A Day in the Limelight: Chapter 4 gives the spotlight to Lewyn over Sigurd. The chapter takes place in his home country, Silesse, which erupted into a civil war due to fallout from his father's death and his uncles' political meddling. By the end of the chapter, Lewyn learns to take responsibility for the throne that he left vacant for years.

Also, I noticed an indentation error in Robot Athlete with Mega Man 6 and Mega Man Battle Network so I wondering if someone make an edit on them?

  • Eye Scream: If Gretel tries to pet a raven, the raven pecks Gretel's eye out.
  • Eyes Do Not Belong There: The second game has a white tree with eyes placed in random spots.
  • Flipping the Bird: In the second game, there's a person hiding behind a tree, asking for a handshake. Slapping their hand with a tree branch will make them give Gretel the middle finger.
  • Giant Spider: There's a giant spider living under Gretel's house.
  • Idle Animation: If the player stops playing for a while, Gretel starts rocking on her heels, and will eventually fall asleep while standing up.
  • Interactive Start Up: The loading screen of the second game has a mini-game where the player can click heads to earn points. Having enough points unlocks headgear that Gretel can wear in-game.
  • I'm a Humanitarian: Early in the second game, Gretel is forced to either eat human flesh or eat food that makes a tree grow inside her.

An idea for Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance - Laguz Allies.

Mordecai

  • Utility Party Member: Mordecai may not be ready to fight immediately at the start of the battle, unlike Lethe, but his Smite skill allows him to either give an ally a big headstart or move an ally out of a dangerous positions.

@The Chains of Commanding

This is an edit.

    Real Life

  • Warren Harding's wife witnessed the strain the Presidency had on Woodrow Wilson and said, "I've seen the inside of the White House. The office is killing Wilson as surely as if he had been stabbed at his desk. Don't ask Warren to run." When Warren did become President, he grew to resent it over time. He was recorded to have said, "I am not fit for this office and I should never have been here." He also stated, "I have no trouble with my enemies - I can take care of my enemies all right. But my damn friends... They're the ones that keep me walking the floors at night!" The stress of the presidency finally killed him with a heart attack. Teddy Roosevelt's daughter, Alice Roosevelt Longworth, sympathetically observed:
Alice:I think every one must feel that the brevity of his tenure of office was a mercy to him and to the country. Harding was not a bad man. He was just a slob. He had discovered what was going on around him, and that knowledge, the worry, the thought of the disclosures and shame that were bound to come, undoubtedly undermined his health — one might say actually killed him

Here are a few more examples I would appreciate having looked at.

1. Something for the Chronicles of the Wanderer work page that I am working on offline:

2. A small revision to one of Valkia's tropes on Characters.Warhammer Age Of Sigmar Grand Alliance Chaos:

  • Resurrective Immortality: While it isn’t represented in her tabletop rules, the background material mentions that Valkia has been slain a multiple times by mighty foes, but the Blood God will always bring his favourite back to life as he enjoys the carnage she spreads too much to let her stay dead.

3. This is a rewrite of one of Orikan's examples on Characters.Warhammer 40000 Necrons that is currently Jerkass, but I belive it would be better as a different trope.

  • Servile Snarker: Confident in his position as the greatest astrologer of his race, Orikan has little respect for authority and treats the Necron nobles he works for with quiet, sneering contempt.

~PrincessPandaTrope After thinking it over, I removed The Lost Lenore like you asked me to. I watched a Let's Play of it, and yeah, it is Speculative Troping just like you said, so it needed to be removed. I don't think it violates the rules for me to take care of that just because you asked for it. (And if it does, which as far as I know is not the case, I want to make it clear to the mods that the responsibility for that violation is mine and only mine.)

Bootlebat: Here's the corrected version.

  • DOOM Eternal: At the end of Ancient Gods [space]- Part One, the Doomslayer finds the soul orb containing Davoth, The Dark Lord, and takes it to Urdak to force Davoth to manifest. At the very end we see Davoth, and he looks exactly like the Doomslayer himself, other than having red eyes. Part Two explains this by saying that Davoth is both the Dark Lord and The Father, and that he created the Doomslayer in his own image. This raises many questions:
    • It still doesn't explain why Davoth would look like a human to begin with.
    • It's never really explained why he would want to do this. The implication is that it was to make the Doomslayer as powerful as possible, except that the Doomslayer was originally just a really tough and skilled, but still merely human, Marine, and only gained supernatural powers after Samur blessed him with them, and even then he's not some kind of Physical God or the like.
    • Davoth isn't omniscient despite being God, as he didn't forsee the Makyrs betraying him and leaving him trapped in Jekkad (which eventually became Hell), let alone the Doomslayer killing him. So, what exactly was he trying to accomplish?
    • Part One outright says Davoth hasn't manifested in "like a decillion years" (1 followed by 33 zeros). Even if this is hyperbole, it still doesn't explain how he could have created the Doomslayer personally, as he was basically helpless and trapped in an orb until the Doomslayer made him manifest in Part One.

(All your plot holes are fine; I just couldn't be bothered to replicate them. Also, I couldn't get the damn spoiler tags to work.)

  • Took a Level in Jerkass: After Order 66 kicks in, all the clones get collectively more short-tempered and stand offish, even outside of combat. Likely a result of their chips obedience programming subverting their empathy, as well as their independence.

[That last sentence is a bit too speculative, unless it's got some sort of backing in the actual show.]

Hi guys. It's me again. Let's have another try.

Here are some for a potential Headscratcher page for Normal (2003):

  • Reverend Dale Muncie tries to help Irma and Ruth with the latter's gender problems by insisting that Roy is trying to be masculine and femenine by himself while he should let Irma release his feminine side. However, despite the Reverend's suggestion, Irma never mentions any of this to Ruth. If Irma was still unaware of what gender dysphoria is, what don't she talk with Ruth about this?
  • Once Ruth starts wearing earrings at her work, why do her fellow workers immediately realize that she is transgender and not effeminate? Cisgender men can wear earrings regardless their sexual orientation or gender identity. Bikers usually wear them. What if maybe Roy just wanted to wear earring because he thought he looked cool with them?
  • How do all the church corus members become aware of Ruth's transition so they go to kick her out from the chorus? Only Reverend Muncie, Irma and Ruth's boss Frank fully knew about her gender identity and her intentions to get sex reassignment surgery.
  • Is Patty Ann a trans boy or just a lesbian girl? She talks about how is for she being female, so this means that she inherited gender dysphoria from Ruth's genes?
  • If Reverend Muncie eventually gives up helping Ruth solve her gender problems and has her kicked out from the church, then why does he allow her to attend a mass only to kick her out in the middle of the ceremony? Shouldn't be more easier to ban her from entering into the church from the beginning?
  • Irma gets worried at one point that Ruth may desire to sleep with men following her transition, but Ruth insists her wife that she is faithful to her. However, Irma later sleeps with Frank. Doesn't this make her hypocritical? on the other hand, Frank mentions that his wife can't have children but doesn't mention that he told her about what he will be doing tonight? So Frank is unfaithful to his marriage as well?
  • While talking with Wayne about Irma's sexuality, Ruth states that Irma and her will still be married, but that Irma is still straight and that her transition doesn't necessarily mean that Irma is a lesbian given that she would still go for men in case they divorce. But by being married to a woman, Irma is a lesbian, regardless her wife was assigned male at birth...
  • At the end, when Ruth pays a visit to her father, whose Alzheimer is worse than before, she tells him that he doesn't have a son despite that Roy Sr. is still able to remember the fact that he had a son. Ruth doesn't tell him that she was her son but that she transitioned. So what was the purpose of visiting her father and introduce herself as a daughter Roy Sr. didn't know he ever had without explanation? Does Ruth only come to troll her father and taunt him for only having daughters?

  • Once Ruth starts wearing earrings at work, why do her co-workers immediately realize that she is transgender and not effeminate? Cisgender men can wear earrings regardless of their sexual orientation or gender identity. Bikers often wear them. ["Usually" is good grammar, but not quite true.] What if maybe Roy just wanted to wear earrings because he thought he looked cool with them?
  • How do all the church chorus members become aware of Ruth's transition? Only Reverend Muncie, Irma and Ruth's boss Frank fully knew about her gender identity and her intentions to get sex reassignment surgery.
  • Is Patty Ann a trans boy or just a lesbian? She talks about how it is for her to be female, so does this mean that she inherited gender dysphoria from Ruth's genes?
[Nope, because that's not really how gender dysphoria works.]
  • If Reverend Muncie eventually gives up helping Ruth solve her gender problems and has her kicked out from the church, then why does he allow her to attend a mass only to kick her out in the middle of the ceremony? Shouldn't it be easier to ban her from entering the church from the beginning?

So is Frank unfaithful to his wife as well?
[At least the first part of this is not a headscratcher. You're just pointing out that Irma's a hypocrite. Complaints about a character's morals are not headscratchers. No offense, but I've pointed that out many, many times before.]
  • While talking with Wayne about Irma's sexuality, Ruth states that Irma and her will still be married, but that Irma is still straight and that Ruth's transition doesn't necessarily mean that Irma is a lesbian given that she would still go for men in case they divorce. But by being married to a woman, Irma is a lesbian, regardless of the fact that her wife was assigned male at birth...
[Technically, this isn't true. Being in love with a woman makes you a lesbian, not being married to one.]
  • At the end, when Ruth pays a visit to her father, whose Alzheimer is worse than before, she tells him that he doesn't have a son despite the fact that Roy Sr. is still able to remember the fact that he had a son. Ruth doesn't tell him that she was her son but that she transitioned. So what was the purpose of visiting her father and introducing herself as a daughter Roy Sr. didn't know he ever had without any explanation? Does Ruth only come to troll her father and taunt him for only having daughters?
