And here's something different.
What if Pokemon were done in the style of classic 1930s animation?
That was real unexpected, NGL
"Bingo! If two species hate each other, they will wipe each other out on their own."It seems to be based of the cartoons by Max and Dave Fleischer. You can tell by the Cinecolor scheme (Red and Green) and the Rubber-Hose Limbs on everything, especially with the train bouncing up and down and the slapstick. The music in particular sounds like jazz, another trait of the Fleischer brothers.

Hey...how would you guys makes a Five-Man Band out of Ash's Team or at least designated them based on The Team status. I guess for example:
- The Leader: Pikachu. Alola's team feels the most like a family and he's always watching over everyone.
- The Lancer: Rowlet. Fun variety. Airheaded compared to the rest of the team, but lacks most of the serious conflict that they deal with and is overall reliable. Has participated in the most number of team matches
- The Big Guy: Lycanroc. Hard to say if he's The Ace of the team, but he was the first of the team to fully evolve and is consistent in almost all its battles. Won Ash the Alola League, withstood supereffective damage from Braivary and damaged Incienroar, soloed Nanu's team on his own. Yeah
- The Smart Guy: Litten->Torracat. Much more perspective and smart, figured out Kukui's identity pretty easily, used its head back when it was stealing food for Stoutland, and generally level headed compared to the rest of the team.
- The Chick: Nanagadeel. They were basically the baby of the team and acted like a cheerful child, even when they evolved.
- Sixth Ranger: Meltan->Melmetal. Sixth Pokemon to join the party. Also is it just me or do Sixth Rangers tend to end up as great friends with the Lancer?
Just watched the dub on Netflix, and I have to say, this one is pretty good. The mix of LA and NY voice actors works out really well.
In other news, Wayne Grayson came back as Lance after like 15 years, and that's really cool to see.
The moving the dubbing to Los Angeles has allowed the dub to make use of the talent there.
There's Erica Mendez, Michelle Ruff, Kyle Hebert, Alejandro Saab and Xander Mobus listed in the credits.
I've mentioned that Megan Hollingshead returned to the show. But it is now confirmed she's actually back as Nurse Joy.
So Satoshi meets Corni again and wins the rematch.
...I have no idea who Corni is. XD;
The Protomen enhanced my life.
The one who tells really bad jokes.
She had her own arc in the anime and everything.
One Strip! One Strip!Battle was good although a bit rushed. Sadly, I just don't think the animation of the current saga is as good as XY's. I got used to SM's art style as it went on, and the current series seems like an evolution of it, but the battles in XY was a spectacle to watch and the battles feel a little off now.
I think I recall Iwane or the other animators saying XY's animation was too expensive/costly and time consuming to make, which is probably why they did away with it. Given the show is aimed at kids and ratings won't be any different, they probably figured it wasn't worth it just to satisfy some older fans on the internet.
Then again the finale against Kukui at the end of SM looked fantastic, so maybe it depends on the episode.
The preview for the next episode is honestly cursed. Buff Ash and Gou looks disturbing even if it's for a gag.
We see them doing weights are they gonna go Machio?
Every accusation by the GOP is ALWAYS a confession. This blog has neat info about the first and second Pokemon movies. Ash and Team Rocket were not in the first draft of the second one, and it talks about the Pokemon rebellion ending.
"Takeshi Shudo, May 19, 2010: I thought about writing a fourth movie, but I couldn’t come up with any ideas.
If I wrote it, I would have used the story that I had planned for the final anime episode. The Pokémon would stage a rebellion much like Spartacus in ancient Rome. Although at first glance Pokémon appear to be friends with humans, they would realize they’re actually being used like slaves, which would lead to an uprising. Pikachu would become the leader of the revolt and end up fighting with Ash. Team Rocket, who are in possession of lots of sinister Pokemon (including Meowth, who can translate the Pokémon language into human speech) would try to mediate the conflict, but they’d do a poor job of interpreting and only make things worse…
That’s all I came up with. However, an episode like this would break the rules of the Pokémon world and make it impossible for the series to continue. Continuing into perpetuity is the series’ objective. If it could ever be produced, I think it would literally have to be the last episode ever.
I tried to think of a different plot, but I couldn’t."

The Protomen enhanced my life.Hah. So he actually understood he'd have destroyed the entire plot of the series if he wrote that story then?
Though the fact he literally couldn't think of any other ending shows that he really saw that rebellion as the only logical direction to go in.
One Strip! One Strip! The other option was 'elderly Ash looks back on his childhood fondly and becomes young again.'
" Months and years pass. Ash grows old, then one day suddenly he looks back on his past. He remembers his childhood fondly. The adventures he had with his amazing Pokemon, the friendship, the coexistence.
Maybe Ash wasn’t able to experience these things later in life. However, as a kid there was Pikachu and lots of other Pokémon, Jessie and James, and Mewtwo… And so much more — elderly Ash remembers everything that happened during his adventures as a young boy.
He can hear his mother’s voice. “Go to sleep already, you’re setting off on your journey tomorrow.” The next morning, he is woken up by his mother. He’s a young boy again, leaving his house excited to start a new adventure.
He’s going on a journey not to catch Pokémon or become a Pokémon master, but to discover the meaning of existence, to discover how to coexist with others."
The Protomen enhanced my life.I think it's the other way around. He thought it was a cool idea for an episode, but it'd break the status quo so it'd have to be the last one.
Takeshi Sudo was a member of Team Plasma all along!
Honestly could have Mewtwo probably show up and stops the fighting.
Every accusation by the GOP is ALWAYS a confession.Think stuff like that is why they stay so far away from Kanto?
Wake me up at your own risk.Takeshi Shudo and his ideas...
It shouldn't be surprising he thinks like that. He worked on Magical Princess Minky Momo, and when the toy sponsors pulled out, the writers revolted by having the main character die by being struck by a car and be reincarnated.
You can notice Shudo's influence on the anime waning as that's when the writing started to get more stale or repetitive around early Johto throughout the saga. Sometimes I can't help but wonder what Johto would have been like if it was written more like Kanto was. We had the occasional similar episode, like that ghost Ninetails ep from late Johto where the woman was trying to trap Brock with her for 1000 years (anyone remember that ep?), but Johto otherwise pretty much started the repetitive filler formula that the anime stuck to for years.
And when they did try to do something different like at the start of Black Nd White with Team Rocket they eventually returned to the status quo thanks to a natural disaster ruining their plot if I remember right.
Every accusation by the GOP is ALWAYS a confession. That and people in Japan just didn't like the new Team Rocket.
The Protomen enhanced my life.
The anime has restarted production and new episodes will start airing again beginning June 7th
