During the investigation of recent hollers in the Complete Monster thread, it's become apparent to the staff that an insular, unfriendly culture has evolved in the Complete Monster and Magnificent Bastard threads that is causing problems.
Specific issues include:
- Overzealous hollers on tropers who come into the threads without being familiar with all the rules and traditions of the tropes. And when they are familiar with said rules and traditions, they get accused (with little evidence) of being ban evaders.
- A few tropers in the thread habitually engage in snotty, impolite mini-modding. There are also regular complaints about excessive, offtopic "socializing" posts.
- Many many thread regulars barely post/edit anywhere else, making the threads look like they are divorced from the rest of TV Tropes.
- Following that, there are often complaints about the threads and their regulars violating wiki rules, such as on indexing, crosswicking, example context and example categorization. Some folks are working on resolving the issues, but...
- Often moderator action against thread regulars leads to a lot of participants suddenly showing up in the moderation threads to protest and speak on their behalf, like a clique.
It is not a super high level problem, but it has been going on for years and we cannot ignore it any longer. There will be a thread in Wiki Talk
to discuss the problem; in the meantime there is a moratorium on further Complete Monster and Magnificent Bastard example discussion until we have gotten this sorted out.

Here you compare the actions of the Candidate to other character actions in the story in order to determine if they stand out or not. Remember that all characters, not just other villains, contribute to the Heinousness Standard

Simply state whether or not you think the character counts or not.

EDIT: Also, for In Death, Human Trafficking is rare, and Jonah Wilson's bad enough, but I think Madeline Bullock needs to go. She's bad, but was barely hanging in there as it is, before Wilkey came along and dramatically outheinoused her. My own candidate, but honestly, of all my keepers from the series, she was the one I was feeling the least confident about to begin with (although Stephen Whitt may end up joining her before too long. Willow, The Groom, and Lew Callaway are probably all safe though. Mir's looking into Yost and Cobbe).

I couldn't find a picture. The show used discretion shots and villains when they kill people are usually disgusted or cloaked.

Eh, not sure. I kinda think it looks a tad bit weird, the image on top looks like just a normal person sleeping in bed. Plus we don't see the villain himself doing these evil deeds on the image besides seeing his hands. That's just me, I personally don't think it fits.

Alright said previously said before I arrived to Florida last night and now I got a candidate to discuss today from a movie that I saw on Netflix during my flight. The movie in question is called Outside the Wire so let’s talk about it.
What’s The Work?
Outside the Wire is a Military Science Fiction set in the year 2036 taking place in during a civil war between pro-Russian insurgents and local resistances in Ukraine led by the US to deploy peacekeeping forces. The movie stars Anthony Mackie as an Android officer named Captain Leo as he teams up with drone pilot, Lt. Thomas Harp as they travel to the Ukraine to stop a global catastrophe about to ignited by my candidate, Victor Koval.
Who Is He? What Has He Done?
Victor Koval is a warlord in charge of the Pro-Russian Insurgence who invades Ukraine so that he could conquer country for himself. He would cause bloody civil war in the country leading to hundreds and thousands getting massacred causing wanton destruction in the country with corpses and mass graves seen throughout the movie, with one example has Koval blow up a dirty bomb laced with Uranium in the city of Kiev destroying much of the city and killing 25,000.
This leads to the US to deploy peacekeeping forces in Ukraine to help the local resistance fight off Koval and his army, leading to Koval to try finding nuclear missile codes so that he could use the nuclear missile silos to launch nuclear missile all over The United States, which would kill millions of innocent people, so that the US could no longer be able to help the resistance allowing to kill off the resistance and take over Ukraine.
He would work with Captain Leo to obtain the nuclear codes, but Koval would betray Leo and try to kill him several times having his men shoot at Leo and Harp when they try delivering vaccines for refugees and having them shoot at the two while they were at the hospital, killing numerous countless along the way. When Koval learns that the nuclear codes is at a bank vault would have his men invade the bank and holding numerous innocence hostage, having his men try to kill them when they escape their grasp.
When Leo obtains the nuclear codes and meets with Koval, Koval refuses to give Leo access to the nuclear and tries to kill Leo so that he could obtain the codes for himself. However Leo, being a military One-Man Army easily kills off Koval’s soldiers before killing Koval allowing Leo access to the silo where he uses to enact his own plans to launch the missiles onto the US.
Freudian Excuse? Redeeming Qualities?
All That’s known about Koval is that he is a treacherous and monstrous warlord from Russia who is trying to forcibly take over a country for himself, killing hundreds of thousands in his efforts. That’s all to his know about Koval and he cares for no one but himself as has tried to kill his own ally several times throughout the film, just so he wouldn’t pose a threat to him later on. So, Yeah this guy has zero Freudian Excuse, no justification beyond conquest and sadism, and zero Redeeming nor sympathetic features
Heinousness?
As The Heavy, Koval sets the heinous standard for this movie easily, starting a bloody civil war engulfing a country that leads to hundreds of thousands off innocent people massacred with the mass graves, the countless corpses, shown onscreen as proof of Koval’s slaughter, has ordered his men to kill people, basically tries to commit genocide on the Ukrainians so that he can take their country for himself, and plans to nuke America so that they would no longer be able to interfere with his conquest.
The only other character that comes to Koval is Leo who tries to nuke America also but doesn’t count due to being a Well-Intentioned Extremist who believes that America interfering with foreign conflict has only worsen situations and cause more destruction and deaths at by nuking America they could no longer interfere with those conflicts and would save many more lives in the long run. Koval has no such Well-Intentions as he only wants America gone so that they would get in the way of his conquest of Ukraine and has already committed far atrocities than Leo, beating him in this department as well.
Final Verdict?
