"Overdosed" Indexes

Seeing the thread on Award Shows reminds me of something else index-wise. It may not be as easy to bloat as something like the Academy Awards, but it's still something that should be considered. I'm saying this as someone who had once contributed to Trope Overdosed back before it's considered JustForFun/: I don't see the point of keeping those as indexes, doubly so now they're JustForFun.

Worth noting that Overdosed Tropes is not considered JFF.

If I had to guess, Trope Overdosed may have been made JFF at least partly because people are more likely to get into dick-measuring contests with works they're fans of and shoehorn works into tropes they don't fit to inflate their counts. You could argue that's an argument in favor of de-indexing it, since it adds a badge of honor to the page itself, although that's more an issue with works on the verge of making the page since it's not obvious where on the list it is just looking at the index bar.

Yeah, I agree these are unnecessary. Probably have less benefit than awards since all they do is tell you "and here are some other works that have a lot of wicks".

In addition to deindexing, should they be sent to TRS so that they can be moved to JFF?

Trope Overdosed is already JFF, Overdosed Tropes is not.

I agree that Trope Overdosed shouldn’t be an index, especially since it’s JFF. There’s really no point in being directed to other overdosed works when I’m reading a work page.

I hope this doesn’t count as misplaced necroing of a dormant thread, but I just came here from the thread about indexing award shows.

Not sure if we'd need a new thread and a new crowner afterward, but we should also do something about Useful Notes as indexes (outside of pages that are being phased into Platform/ that is). Some (like The Renaissance Age of Animation for example) we can definitely do without, while there may be at least a few that can safely be moved (for example, Looney Tunes And Merrie Melodies Filmography can be moved to Looney Tunes, and the associated subpages can be flipped to Recap/).

Oh, and should we make Overdosed Tropes JustForFun/ without TRS action? For some reason, that slipped notice unlike the work-based counterparts and it's definitely in the Not Tropeworthy category.

Figures. Good thing I've got it in the queue.

Yeah, I agree we should TRS Overdosed Tropes first.

Going by when the crowner is formed, we still have a few hours before hitting the 72 hour mark.

I think it's past the 72-hour mark now. We can call. Ratio seems pretty good on removing the index tags.

EDIT: OK, something's up with Trope Overdosed. It doesn't seem to change page type, at all. And even when i removed the indexing markers it still is indexing. What gives?
