Thanks for launching this Synch.
Anyway, I wanted to bring up this comment from amathieu13 about this trope from the TRS meta thread, since amathieu mentioned it being relevant:
I'd say cut and Yard. I'm not sure how that Lady Vessel draft is relevant because it's about in-universe actions while Mr Starship is about Audience Reactions, so could that be clarified?

Patiently awaiting the release of Paper Luigi and the Marvelous Compass.I don't see why is it limited to vehicles. I think audience reactions ironically or not treating an object as contributing member of the team are common and interesting.
Anyway, this means sending to yard.
TroperWall / WikiMagic CleanupWhy a vehicle specifically? Why not any object, like the Audience Reaction version of Companion Cube?

I'd like to apologize for all this.I agree with broadening it into an Audience Reaction counterpart to Companion Cube instead of limiting it to vehicles.
Patiently awaiting the release of Paper Luigi and the Marvelous Compass.I said the Lady Vessel draft might be relevant just in the sense that, given this has so few wicks and is likely to get cut, it may be a way to salvage any tropeworthy aspect found in the examples. I don't really think "audience personifies inanimate object" is all that notable and both that draft and Setting as a Character are the In-Universe versions that I do think would be tropeworthy.
Meh, cut. Yard if someone's got a strong idea.

Currently Working On: Incorruptible Pure PurenessI agree with cutting either way. The fact that Yarding is a free action means it's kind of a moot point when it comes to what to do with the current page.
With Yarding being a free action in mind, I'll be lumping regular cut votes with cut+Yard votes when it comes to tallying votes for deciding whether to cut this.

Cut. Yarding is a free action.
she/her | TRS needs your help! | Contributor of Trope ReportRegarding the draft, didn't we already have a trope called Spaceship Girl? And that page links to Sapient Ship. What's the distinction between the draft (and Mr Starship) and those tropes?

You'd probably get a better answer in the comment section for that draft. It's not really relevant to a thread about Mr Starship, especially since we're probably going to cut Mr Starship at this rate, taking it out of the equation.

Patiently awaiting the release of Paper Luigi and the Marvelous Compass.Calling thread in favor of cutting/yarding Mr Starship since we have 10 votes in favor of doing that and the trope isn't thriving.
Macron's notesDewicked and sent to the Cut List. Not sure how to word the Salvage Yard entry so I'll let someone else do that.
We can close now.

The problem: Mr Starship is an Audience Reaction wherein the audience views a prominent vehicle used by characters in a story as a character in and of itself. Unfortunately, despite launching in 2011, there are only 5 off-page wicks and 15 on-page examples (combined, that's 20 total—starvation range according to Wick)—which I suspect was due to a lack of crosswicking on launch. The name is also very unclear and non-indicative.
Possible solution: While I guess I could see this as a valid Audience Reaction (assuming the examples are legit), at best it would have to be sent to the Trope Launch Pad or Trope Idea Salvage Yard (preferably with a better name), and at worst an outright cut might be needed.
What does everyone else think? Any other ideas or suggestions?
