Triang Relations is an analysis of different combinations of Love Triangle without being own subtrope. From this conversation, the logical conclusion is to move it to Analysis.Love Triangle.

[up][up][up]I don't think Triang Relations is an alternative interpretation of Love Triangle, but a list of permutations a love triangle can take. That sounds the same, but to me it's the difference between say, having an analysis page for Water Is Womanly that explains different ways in which Water Is Womanly can show up in a work (aquatic creatures being portrayed as mostly women, deities of water being protrayed as women, etc) versus using it to argue that "actually, it's less 'Water Is Womanly' and more 'Water is Not Manly' because..."

I'm not really against just cutting and redirecting the page entirely, but I think there can be a compromise where the analysis page describes the types that are the most common, which in this case would be the ones with their own subpages.

And if we do move it to the analysis page, I don't think we have to keep it as is/can consolidate types when appropriate.

[up]Perhaps I jumped the gun with that part of that post. I admit I wasn't in the best mood at the time (I think my blood pressure was acting up, plus I think I hadn't been awake very long at the time). I suppose we could work out what Analysis.Love Triangle would look like if we took the current contents of Main.Triang Relations and narrowed it down to just listing and describing the various permutations (I wouldn't be against keeping the illustrations of how they're arranged if we do that).

Yes, I am not opposed to moving the types (or at least some of them)over. I think put all of the examples in the sandbox so that people can salvage them for other pages.

I added a few examples to Triang Relations myself, but I was never really clear why it was its own trope—not to mention that types 7 and 8 are pretty much redundant to Polyamory on top of it. I agree with turning the description of the various permutations into Analysis.Love Triangle, but I think the trope itself should really be disambiguated between Love Triangle, Love Dodecahedron, Polyamory, and maybe Harem Genre among others.

I hooked a crowner with merging and transplanting the relationship types to Analysis.Love Triangle listed separately. The latter would only be done during a merge, since we just need to decide if we'd do it if we did a merge since there were disagreements over whether it should be done if a merge is done.

Fixed. I overlooked the fact that you proposed that. I'll bump the crowner announcement, but since the crowner was only put up earlier today, I'm not going to delay calling it.

I think the Analysis/ page can just link to the disambiguation targets when relevant.

Updated the to-do list since it didn't mention the creation of Analysis.Love Triangle.

Edit: OK, that was already done; the fact that Triang Relations wasn't a redirect yet threw me off. But remember to index new Analysis pages on Main.Analysis next time because that wasn't done. (I'll do it this time.)

[up]I think we can cut the ZCEs and decide what to do with anything with proper context on a case-by-case basis. Since Tabs put the list of subpages in the to-do list, we can still access those even with the page being a redirect (or we could move them to a sandbox if necessary).

Types 7 and 8 are redundant to Polyamory IMHO (7 is an anime-style harem, 8 is "everybody is in love with everybody else"), so a lot of those two pages' contents can probably be sent over there. Type 4 is "couple plus unrequited-loving outsider", which seems like it goes with Love Triangle. I would say combine Type 5 into All Love Is Unrequited.

[up][up] Feel free to edit or add to the analysis and linking to tropes when appropriate. I put a line for 7 for now that points to Harem Genre, but I'm not sure if I have it right.

[up]I said "anime-style harem" for conciseness. More specifically it's a case where there's a "primary" (to use a term from the poly community) who is mutually attracted to multiple other people. An actual harem isn't necessarily involved although it could be: technically it would be poly only if all participants were aware of and okay with each other.

Mmhm. I wasn't sure if works in the anime-style harem end up with one person "winning", multiple winners uninvolved with each other, multiple winners who take the poly route, or something else, but however they play out, the main conflict seems to sit solidly in 7.

[up]That honestly varies by work. Sometimes a Harem Series ends on a Marry Them All note (Realist Hero, Trapped in a Dating Sim, although the latter is type 8 because Olivia and Angie are in love with each other, too), sometimes the MC actually picks one (usually if the harem is in the form of "one girl MC mutually wants to be with" + "Unwanted Harem of extra girls", e.g. Rosario + Vampire), but oftentimes there's No Romantic Resolution (although with adapted anime that's usually because they just didn't reach the ending of the source material).
