When the old version of the article to the Cut List (after it gets moved)
Should I call Web Original/ a deprecated namespace?
Art Museum Curator and frequent helper of the Web Original deprecation projectI don't understand the question.
I'd like to apologize for all this.I'm the process of moving several pages under the Web Original namespace that have consensus to be moved to another namespace per this thread and sandbox
When cutlisting the Web Original/ version of the page (temporarily turned into a redirect) should I use "Deprecated Namespace" as a Cut List reason?
Art Museum Curator and frequent helper of the Web Original deprecation projectYes, but make sure to include a link to the page's new location in the cut reason. Or, you can go here and ask the mods to do it so the page history is kept.

I'd like to apologize for all this.Record Collector 1972 probably belongs in Music/, not WebVideo/.
SiIvaGunner is also on Music/ so I agree.
I'd like to apologize for all this. And just like SiIva, we have a capitalization question to discuss. I think it should be Music.Recordcollector 1972, because all-lowercase usernames are usually wikiworded with only the first letter capitalized.
I had a dog-themed avatar before it was cool.Yup

Art Museum Curator and frequent helper of the Web Original deprecation projectI think fandoms like WebOriginal.Protectors Of The Plot Continuum and WebOriginal.Fluffy Pony our definitely stuff that doesn't seem to fit into particular other namespaces.

Art Museum Curator and frequent helper of the Web Original deprecation projectIn the same vein, I think Fanfic.Rise Of The Brave Tangled Dragons and Fanfic.Bee Shrek Test In The House should be moved to Web Original/
There's also some other pages for fan-verses, like:
That is...unless we make some sort of Fandom/ namespace or something.
Art Museum Curator and frequent helper of the Web Original deprecation projectWebOriginal.Windows Never Released also seems to be another one of those cases. But instead of a fandom, it's more of just a community?
Art Museum Curator and frequent helper of the Web Original deprecation projectHmmm, there are a few handful of edge cases here. So to put out my answer for the question that's the title of the thread, yes. As a net to catch what other namespaces can't
Yeah, shared fan verses and "internet folklore" things like PPC, RotBTD, Superwholock, and Goncharov, that are sort of created piecemal by large internet communities and often encompass multiple mediums of fan works, are a bit of a weird case. I would not be entirely opposed to created a namespace specifically for cases like that. Fan Verse/ and Fandom/ could both conceivably work.
That reminds me I've been tempted to do something with Penis SMP (article about it from Polygon) which is just Minecraft Goncharov (also a Tumblr post turned fake fandom, though I believe it predates Goncharov by about a year?) but I've had no idea where to put it ;-;
Yeah, I agree, Fan Verse or Fandom seem like they'd attract misuse.

LP Deprecation Cleanup | Ask me about SMPLiveMy worry with a "Fan Verse" or "Fandom" namespace is that it would logically attract fan works and stuff like that, not just works produced by a collective online.
Web Original seems valid enough for this.
Current Project: Incorruptible Pure PurenessMy question then is what to do about examples of this sort of "community works" being split among namespaces. Some of them are in Web Original/ (i.e., Goncharov, Protectors of the Plot Continuum, Fluffy Pony) and other in Fanfic/ (i.e., Momswap AU, Reverse Falls AU, The Infinite Loops). That doesn't make much sense to me; they're functionally the same sort of thing, a loose collaborative and non-directed project where people tack on bits and pieces of stories, headcanons, and fanart until a mostly consistent "work" emerges. Splitting them between two namespaces seems... clumsy.
Sure, but that kinda goes back to the fact that we discriminate against fan works at all in terms of namespace and sorting. Fan works, even collaborative ones, are just treated differently even though the mediums are all the same.
Current Project: Incorruptible Pure PurenessThe listed in web original are original and ones in fanfic are fanworks, I don't get the confusion.
TroperWall / WikiMagic CleanupFluffy Pony is also a fan work.
Like I said, I think they should all be in Web Original/ — Fanfic/ is specifically for written works.
I think we've definitely found something this namespace is useful for. That and Original Character Tournaments.
Though I've recently suggested those should just get its own namespace (OCT/) like Alternate Reality Games did.
Art Museum Curator and frequent helper of the Web Original deprecation projectProtectors of the Plot Continuum is a recursive fanwork that specifically interacts with other fanfics. It's a sort of... meta-fanfic might be the best term.

Would Franchise. The Slender Man Mythos and Franchise. The Fear Mythos better fit in Web Original/?
...Maybe? Those have always been confusing because they combine multiple other works under one banner because they're set in one universe. Franchise/ is a stretch since, well... they're not. But Web Original feels kinda "off" as well, if only because it kind of feels off to lump these all together to begin with.

Yeah. WebFiction/ was too controversial to take off, considering I and many others spent quite a while getting web novel examples into Literature.
