Misused (new crowner 15 January 2022): Wiki Tropes

Literally all of Wall of Text does not apply to TV Tropes. It needs a full rewrite.

Fair enough. Well, we can always just scrap what's already on the sandbox and add completely new text to it.

Now that you mention it, I guess that page is the opposite of the pages that inspired me to add the Wiki Tropes category to Tropes Needing TRS — instead of being a page that calls itself a trope despite focusing solely on TV Tropes, it's a run-of-the-mill trope page that doesn't focus on TV Tropes.

I might have misunderstood that post. But I do have a rewrite at least:

"We understand people like write a lot about their favorite series while being an Entry Pimp. Despite the temptation, please don't write examples or descriptions that can be considered a wall of text here.

Avoid putting details that don't directly pertain to the example. Cutting Word Cruft may also help save a little space.

Chances are you're going too far when you write eight or more lines in one paragraph (on 1920x1080 with Wide Load enabled). You can use backlashes to separate long examples into paragraphs, but don't overdo it for examples as too many paragraphs in one can also annoy readers."

I have a couple of questions:

1. Is there anything left to do on Sandbox.Wall Of Text before moving it to Administrivia.Wall Of Text?
2. Do the wicks for the pages that were merged with and turned into redirects to the Glossary need to be cleaned up?

Any input on my previous post?

2. Yes, albeit in many cases replacing them with potholes that link to the glossary but display the old title would be warranted.

I made Administrivia.Wall Of Text and cutlisted the sandbox.

Sorry for the double post, but Administrivia.Wall Of Text being split off is done aside from indexing it on the Administrivia page (which I submitted a request for), so here are the remaining pages that were merged with the TV Tropes Glossary and need to have their wicks removed and/or changed to link to the Glossary's main page:

• Main.Troper (wick list)
• Main.Troper Critical Mass (wick list)
• Administrivia.Wiki Magic (wick list) (Update: Took care of every namespace except for Administrivia/, JustForFun/, Sandbox/, and Summmary/)

I'm not going to handle any of them at the moment since I've been working on getting The Con's thread out of the way, but I'll add them to the TRS Thread Tracker sandbox for now.

Edit: Main.Wiki Magic's wicks were all on either archived pages or locked pages, so taking care of it is a matter of the Locked Pages request being processed.

Edit: Main.Troper had Main.Vigilante Taxonomist as a redirect. I changed it to redirect to the Glossary and dewicked it.

I added the entries on Sandbox.Wiki Tropes that weren't taken care of with the crowner to Tropes Needing TRS. Feel free to remove the "Failed to reach consensus in the Wiki Tropes TRS thread" text I added if it's unnecessary; I added it to indicate that there was already a thread for them (sort of), but no action was taken for them.

Edit: The Locked Pages request for Main.Wiki Magic was processed, so that one's done.

I finished the dewicking for pages that were merged with Forum Speak, and removed the TRS banners for pages that we're not changing or cutting.

I posted a Locked Pages request for pages whose wicks I can't change.

I just re-typed Acronym Trope Names as an Index. Is it? Or was it right as a Trope?

I'm positive that's the only thing left, since its wick count was higher than the ones for the other merged pages.

Edit: I removed all the "This trope is under discussion on TRS" banners except for the one on the main Wiki Tropes page, since discussion has ended for those pages.

Um, yes, there is something more to do: Processing/gaining consensus for all the unresolved items at Sandbox.Wiki Tropes.

Oh I forgot about that. I don’t know if I voted on everything so I’ll go back and vote on anything I missed.

I didn't forget about the sandbox; I just thought we decided to move some of the unresolved entries to a crowner and save the rest for separate TRS threads. Do we need another crowner for those entries?

Edit: Added the part about separate TRS threads because I neglected to mention that.
