I actually prefer the current for the meta-ness, but I won't lose sleep if the OP gets consensus.
How is this better? I just see a sprite and a health bar with the word "invisible" over it
PSA: a cat is not a dogThat's a pretty bad image, and the current is a funny joke (not to mention iconic: it is from the Dungeons & Dragons monster manual).
Keep the current.

Rhetorical, eh? ... Eight! The only thing I could think to replace the current with is the actual page from the D+D book itself so it's not just...a blank square. However, the image comes out kinda small, and comes with a lot of pointless text. Could we edit the "Invisible Stalker" part to be above the blank box, just to give this image a little context?
Generally though, I'm fine to keep the current.

Currently Working On: Incorruptible Pure PurenessThat's a pretty good idea
PSA: a cat is not a dogFrom Steven Universe: [1]◊, [2]◊, [3]◊, [4]◊, possibly with the caption "This thing would normally be fully invisible, but a lot of rain and mud do a real bad number on its glamour defenses".
Jawbreakers on sale for 99¢The Beached Things from the game Death Stranding leave inky prints but are otherwise invisible. Could something be done with that?
(Annoyed grunt)I'm kinda shocked that my image is considered bad. I would have thought that a man who is obviously a hero and a health bar that had to belong to something (most likely an enemy due to the colors) would be illustrative.
Anyway, I'll get something that is similar to the suggested 5 that also comes from a bestiary for the Invisible X but actually has readable text with stats that obviously fit an invisible enemy.
Currently mostly inactive. An incremental game I tested: https://galaxy.click/play/176 (Gods of Incremental)He's not "obviously a hero", he just...looks like a pixelated dude.
Currently Working On: Incorruptible Pure PurenessWell, this is the best I could get. I've tried editing out all the unneeded in-game stuff as well.
If the X in Invisible X isn't readable, I've attempted artificially raising brightness, though it may look tacky.
Just so you know, this is how it looks like in-game.

Currently mostly inactive. An incremental game I tested: https://galaxy.click/play/176 (Gods of Incremental)I was just thinking of suggesting the Nightkin from Fallout: New Vegas for Stealthy Mook, though I guess it works here too. They are camouflaged but have visual distortion.
Keet cleanupI like 5.1.
Patiently awaiting the release of Paper Luigi and the Marvelous Compass.5 is the best so far.
The universe is under no obligation to make sense to us.5, I suppose.
(Annoyed grunt)Just asking why 5, though. 12 also goes for a bestiary entry with the monster not being visible, and you can actually read the text. Is the frame from 5 a necessary element?
Currently mostly inactive. An incremental game I tested: https://galaxy.click/play/176 (Gods of Incremental)5 focuses more on what's important. It's also clearer that there is an empty image because of the frame.
The universe is under no obligation to make sense to us.Low-rez pixel art tends not to be very clear for particularly abstract concepts.
My mind doesn't go "oh, I can't see it because it's invincible" it goes "oh, I can't see it because it's impossible to make anything out."
Found a Youtube Channel with political stances you want to share? Hop on over to this page and add them.An edit of 5 would be good, I suppose.
I particularly don't mind the unreadable text since it's not really the point in this case.

Crowner's hooked. I didn't include the Steven Universe options since they were suggested to be better for Glamour Failure, or 12.1 since 12.2 fixes its legibility issue.
Votes bump; two in the green, one in consensus range.
Glamour Failure currently has a "no image" tag, is it ok to put up the image based on this thread?
Rhetorical, eh? ... Eight!Provided we get enough consensus, yes; I haven't looked at them (yet) and no other comments have been made so far.
Crown Description:
Nominations for replacement images:
I feel like using just a blank square (even if it's from an official work and is a Literal Metaphor) comes across as lazy when you can easily get an official example. Here's the best I can get (upscaled to 200%):
I can alternatively use a pic without the health bar overlapping, but it would require me to not do upscaling (I'd like to preserve native resolution or an even multiple here as I have the game) which combined with the dark purple text may make it harder to read (it's not necessary for the pic, but still).
Or I could just alter text color. Well, I'd like to know your thoughts.
