This is a thread to discuss those Administrivia pages in need of a little updating- you know the ones. The ones that still cite rules we've long since changed, or the ones that don't properly cite our current standards. Some of them are even scattered in Main/!
So, this is the place to take those pages and fix them up with the help of the community.
For a list of current projects, see Outdated Administrivia Pages.
Note: This thread is not for asking mods to make one-off edits to Locked Pages, Administrivia-related or otherwise, such as requesting additions to an Example Sectionectomy index. Please use this thread for that.

Since the admins fixed the sidebar link to Administrivia.Word Cruft to link to the page's current location instead of its old Main.Word Cruft location, I cut the Main.Word Cruft redirect since it was only kept as a stopgap until the sidebar link was fixed.
Patiently awaiting the release of Paper Luigi and the Marvelous Compass.I've realized that Administrivia.Work Pages Are A Free Launch is written very...oddly. For example, specifying "you can bring it to the TLP like somebody did for Johnny Depp" just seems... random? And how it implicitly discourages using the TLP at all, even though it's actually preferred for people to draft a page and get help if they'd only otherwise be creating stubs (as many people who make work pages in the TLP do).
Current Project: Incorruptible Pure PurenessWas thinking if Zero-Context Example could use a simple illustration like those grammar posters, becuase often tropers don't understand why they get ZCE notifiers even after allegedly reading them.

TroperWall / WikiMagic CleanupThat's pretty good
I agree.
Patiently awaiting the release of Paper Luigi and the Marvelous Compass.x4 That image is good so I added it to Zero-Context Example with credit to Amonimus
As for Work Pages Are a Free Launch, the main part of it is fine to me. I think we just need to do is chop off the options section. I don't think it makes sense to list out other options people can take if we are saying using TLP is fine for work pages.
Macron's notesx5: Just noticed a typo, occurring should have two 'r's.
Yeah, I'm good to cut the options. That's the problematic section.
Current Project: Incorruptible Pure Purenessadded it to the page.
Thirding cutting the options section of Work Pages Are a Free Launch.

Patiently awaiting the release of Paper Luigi and the Marvelous Compass.Another vote to cut
We like the new image on Zero-Context Example, but to nitpick a little, the X reads way too much like specifically a letter X as opposed to a "wrong" symbol, and it's a bit jarring. Our attempts to edit a fix for this kinda flopped, though...

Trouble Cube continues to be a general-purpose forum for those who desire such a thing.Didn't expect it to be a final version anyway as I've wanted to wait for some feedback.
TroperWall / WikiMagic CleanupOh, I should have waited before placing the image in then. I assumed feedback stopped.
The cross/x for wrong usually looks like the multiplication sign ×. Either that or a freeform × will work. Alternatively, we can just get rid of the x and the checkmark because the red and green coloring on correct and wrong is clear enough.

Macron's notesEdited by Amonimus on Jun 1st 2023 at 7:47:06 PM
TroperWall / WikiMagic CleanupEither looks good to me.
Macron's notesSame...it'd be amusing if you could incorporate it with the Drake no/yes meme, or the Geordi variant, but I doubt that would get the point across as well.

Also I like both versions, although I'm a little more inclined toward the first.
I wonder if we could use a General Examples or formal Examples Are Not General page. Currently Examples Are Not General redirects to How to Write an Example, with the "general examples" bit buried under folders and other sections. I wonder if having it on its own page might make it easier for casual users to find, along with allowing us to elaborate better on why general examples aren't allowed/how to avoid them.
Would it be worth making it its own page, or is it fine where it is?

TRS Queue | Works That Require Cleanup of Complaining | Troper WallAs I understand it, you can't (or, at least, shouldn't) add notes within spoiler-tagged text - because any attempt to click on the note actually toggles the spoiler tagging and hides the text again... so it's impossible to open and read the note.
This limitation doesn't seem to be documented anywhere obvious, though - it's not mentioned in the notes section of Administrivia.Text Formatting Rules.
Any objection if I add it?
I've tested it out and I can't replicate the issue. I can show text and open notes separately. Even if spoiler text doesn't have anything aside the note, clicking both shows the note and opens it.
TroperWall / WikiMagic CleanupInteresting. Doesn't work for me (Safari). Might take it to the bug list.
Same with Fridge/ — it doesn't get visibly indexed.
