Yeah, that needs to go from the trope page, and the work page's version badly needs a quality upgrade.
3.1 on the work page is good, but the suggestions for the trope are a bit weak. 3.2 would just be illustrating Taken for Granite, and 3.3 doesn't seem to be from a character, rather from a statue.
How about this illustration?
That's the best so far for the trope page, although there's so much gold all over that it kinda blunts the effect.
King Midas is also on Blessed with Suck. It's clearer than and is a better fit for Midas Touch. Move?
Spiral out, keep going.I would support the move.
As would I .
The Rosers were red. The Drownies are blue. I know What the Thunder Said. Do you?(Annoyed grunt)

"That's right mortal. By channeling my divine rage into power, I have forged a new instrument in which to destroy you."Clock is set.
5 for Midas Touch, 13.2 for Blessed with Suck.

Currently mostly inactive. An incremental game I tested: https://galaxy.click/play/176 (Gods of Incremental)Reclocked. The more I think about it, the more I agree with . I've also started a thread for the book.

13.2 for Blessed with Suck. I stand by my suggestion because it's the only one here that shows Midas's daughter being turned to gold. Blessed with Suck's image is a king with an 18-karat turkey. That shows the "suck", not the "touch".
I think 13.1 is far better for Blessed with Suck than 13.2 is.
That trope is about receiving a power that you would expect to be useful or cool, but in reality, isn't. That's exactly what's happening in 13.1, whereas 13.2 is just... a guy with AIDS, and that's supposed to be good, I guess?
I had the same issue with 13.2.
I definitely agree with moving the current Blessed with Suck image to Midas Touch. 5 is a good illustration, but it has two issues in that 1. there's so much gold in the image that it takes a few seconds of study to see what's going on 2. the Midas hasn't actually touched his daughter in that image; her dress is the only thing that's changing. The actual negative part of it (the daughter turning to gold) hasn't actually happened yet, which muddles the illustration a bit, as the Touch backfiring is a major aspect of the trope.
I prefer 13.1 for the new Blessed with Suck image.
The whole point behind Blessed with Suck is that the suck is something that sounds like it would be good, but causes more problems than it solves. The first image illustrates that pretty clearly in that the guy was getting something that he intended to be a benefit that ended up causing trouble, whereas in the second one, I'm at a loss to see how having AIDS would ever qualify for "getting something that was supposed to be a benefit" part of the trope.

Reaction Image RepositoryI'm thinking a crowner for all the potential options is a good idea at this point. I'll see if I can successfully create one.
EDIT: Dammit to hell...that's a no-go.

Crowner.
This one never got bumped, but the winning options have enough consensus so I'm calling it. The former pic on Blessed with Suck is now here, and 13.1 is on Blessed with Suck. Caption for either page?
No caption discussion for a coupla days; locking up.
Crown Description:
Nominations for replacement images:
Midas Touch uses the same illustration as its source, The Chocolate Touch.
Which is too bad because it's a nice picture. I'm not sure what would be the best course of action in this case.
