Not Thriving: Why Cant You Say Good Night

Why Cant You Say Good Night is a Stock Phrase that is very under-utilized, making it a good candidate to just be cut.

There are 6 wicks:

• Discreet Dining Disposal: Mentioned in an example.
• One-Liner: Indexing.
• Parting-from-Consciousness Words: Mentioned in description.
• Slipping a Mickey: Mentioned in description.
• Sherlock Holmes (2009): Example, mentioned as dialogue. Basically a ZCE.
• Spaced Invaders: Potholed into a quote for This Is Gonna Suck.

Since there's only 1 example above (and it's a ZCE), let's look at what's on the page itself. I will skip over all entries that are just a quote and no context at all:

• Mystery Men: Misuse. Example of Parting-from-Consciousness Words.
• Sherlock Holmes (2009): Exact copy of the ZCE from the work page.
• Dexter: Improper indentation. First entry doesn't appear to be an example. Second entry is a valid example, with context.
• Lost: Wording is weird, but appears to be a valid example.
• Hulk Vs.: Mentions who tranquilizes who. ZCE.
• The Batman: Also lacking context. Not quite a ZCE, but not quite a valid example.

This gives us a whomping 1 valid (ZCE) on wicks and 2 valid examples, plus 3 ZC Es (one of which is the crosswicking).

There is a valid trope here (Giving a one-liner after sedating someone), but it might be better to expand Parting-from-Consciousness Words to cover both the sedater and sedatee snarking.

Merge the example under Parting-from-Consciousness Words and cut the page.

Should we soft-split the examples on Parting-from-Consciousness Words by originator or merge the lists?

I could go either way. Probably keep them in the same list, just in case any Snark-to-Snark Combat comes up and we can't figure out where the example should go.

That sounds like a good reason to use one list.

Modified description of Parting-from-Consciousness Words as per this thread. I'll begin dewicking Why Cant You Say Goodnight and moving whatever valid content I find to Parting-from-Consciousness Words.
