- We recently discovered that a non-US IP address was hitting us with thousands of SQL injection attempts, none of which succeeded. They did, however, put additional load on the database. This wasn't intended as a DDoS attack per se but rather an attempt to take control of the site.
- The administrators activated additional security measures on our Cloudflare firewall that have had the unintended side-effect of causing frequent ReCAPTCHA prompts for users. We are aware of this problem and working on a resolution.

Mar 21th:
- The adblocker bug (popup message) will now appear for logged-in users after a certain threshold of page views has occurred while blocking ads.
- You may snooze the bug for up to 7 days at a time if you have contributed to the wiki (by editing articles) recently.
- There is now a subscription option to use TV Tropes ad-free for certain periods (monthly, yearly).
- You can use this link to access the subscription system.
- Subscriptions use a third-party payment facilitator called Stripe. TV Tropes does not collect or store any of your payment information. You will be rebilled at the indicated interval unless you cancel.
- Subscriptions are linked to your account. If you change accounts, or are banned, you will lose your subscription.

- The badge advertised as a reward for subscribing appears not to be working currently.

Got a Captcha check when trying to preview an edit, but not when I actually published it right afterward. Or when I caught and fixed a typo in the edit right after that.

Finally got the Captcha, about twice now while doing edits (one a small update, one adding lots of edits to a sandbox). Obviously this isn't the fault of the TVT mods, but it would be less annoying if the pictures they wanted us to identify weren't taken at such weird, obscure angles. Are the standards for robots that high now?

Just popping in to say I keep getting captcha tests. I'd say they pop up every time I save an edit or look at a preview. It's... frustrating. Given the trend of the discussion so far, I'm assuming they're not something that was meant to be here?
I am here because all I want to do is make constructive edits on this website like I've always done, yet when I try to do so (specifically, trying to add a proper link to the Jurassic Park Sega Master System game on the Temper-ceratops page), I keep getting this error message accusing me of trying to attack this website even though I have absolutely no intention of doing so. To make matters worse, I can't send a complaint regarding this issue to the staff, because the "Send" button doesn't work, even when I have all of the necessary fields filled out. This issue is really aggravating and I hope it gets resolved soon.
I'm getting them too; it started around yesterday.

My situation is similar to DragonRanger's. I got a capcha while editing YMMV.DoctorWho, but only once and I made a few edits shortly after.
I also got one when editing my TLP draft last night, but I forget when that was.
I'm Sad Frogerson.
I'm still getting the captchas today. So far, I haven't been locked out of editing like I did briefly yesterday.

I also got a Blocked notification while trying to edit the Channel Hop page to acknowledge a recently created article on a comic that was mentioned in the Comic Book Examples folder (specifically, the IDW G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero comic).
Definitely something wonky going on with the firewall.

It's a good thing I don't edit too terribly often because the captchas are pretty difficult to figure out with no instructions.

- That's weird. Mine are just ontop of the pictures, with the problem being that the pictures are too tall. I have to open it then scroll up a bit.
Pretty random re: which pages let me edit like normal and which ones get stuck on the captcha page. On my end, it often looks like pages I've frequented (both recently and long time ago) never let me save my edits, while pages I've never edited/edited only a few times work fine. But a page I was editing for the first time just gave me a captcha earlier, so my theory isn't sufficient :S
I have repeatedly tried to go through the captcha process. Every time I do so, after clicking on the pictures and clicking on the Submit button, the screen goes back to the way it was when I started.
Is this happening to anyone else, or is it just my computer?
I don't know how differently the captcha thing is affecting everyone.
All I know is that I'm now unable to edit anything because hitting the save button sends me to an error page saying I've been blocked because something I typed triggered the security settings.
It's really frustrating being unable to edit anything all because I'm blocked by faulty security measures.

Some people have to do captcha puzzles to authorize their edits and some are now inexplicably blocked from editing.
No telling how long this problem will be resolved.

Got a captcha while trying to fix a typo on the summary of a work page. I managed to complete it surprisingly easily, but I'm still a bit miffed considering it was just a simple letter change.

I've waited an hour to resume editing and it still says I'm blocked. I've just about had it with this security system locking me out of editing.
I keep getting H-Captcha pages when saving edits. I visited Kiss Anime some time ago and originally thought the captcha was malware that was rooted into my computer after visiting the site (even after performing multiple scans which turned up nothing).
Glad to see I'm not alone in people having the same issue.

Cloudflare's Captcha Test security system is annoying and acts as if we are not users who have been here for years.
I’m glad this stuff seems to be taken care of, but I have a feeling that it’s far from over.
So who wants to help create JustForFun.Tv Tropes Apocalypse to celebrate Thursday’s incidents? I don’t think I can do anything on it until “tomorrow” evening (actually still today, but I haven’t gone to bed yet).
