See here for Nightmare Fuel, which has frequent enough problems to deserve a thread of its own.
A while ago, I made a thread for cleaning up Nightmare Fuel pages, since they tend to attract all sorts of gushing about anything vaguely unsettling, as well as violations of Example Indentation and the Spoiler Policy among other problems. Well, other Moments pages have similar issues, though to a slightly lesser extent, so they may as well have a cleanup thread too.
"Moments" reactions should:
- Be free of spoiler tags, in accordance with the Spoilers Off policy which states that:
Fridge, Headscratchers, and the various Moments subpages (Tear Jerker, Moment of Awesome, etc.) are for post-viewing discussions. Spoiler tagging there defeats the purpose of the articles. You shouldn't be going there if you are worried about them.
- Be based on things that actually have happened, not things that could happen, will happen, or might have happened. Speculation belongs only on the Wild Mass Guessing pages.
- Have affected the writer of the entry themselves. If you don't find something funny or sad, let someone who did add it to Funny Moments or Tear Jerker.
- Elicit a strong reaction. Not every single time a character accomplishes something is an Awesome Moment, not every attempt at comedy is a Funny Moment, not every time someone does something nice is a Heartwarming Moment, and not every unhappy event is a Tear Jerker.
- Explain why they're so awesome/funny/sad: Zero Context Examples aren't allowed on this wiki. Your description should allow anyone to understand your reaction.

If we did that, there would be no page left.
Also, I don’t even know if it’s healthy for Mario Pissing to stay on the page. It was the progenitor for THAT draft, after all.

Bringing the page to the Cut List anyway.
EDIT: Whoops, sorry. Can’t do that.

If we cut Mario Pissing from the Funny page, we should cut all the other examples that list outright vandalism. Some of them do have big honking "this isn't encouraged" disclaimers but that's basically Do Not Do This Cool Thing.
I do some cleanup and then I enjoy shows you probably think are cringe.Sure, let’s go with that . . . if you’re not completely edit banned.
Hold on there Guma, need more consensus first.
Currently Working On: Incorruptible Pure PurenessHey I have a question about this thread.
So the Nightmare Fuel cleanup thread has been used to clean out obviously non-scary examples on pages.
Could this thread be used to clean out obviously non-awesome/funny/sad/heartwarming moments from applicable pages? I've seen Moments pages with lots of issues before, so I'd like to contribute.
Sorry if it's an obvious question, but prior discussion appears to indicate a bit of disagreement about the correct usage of this thread.
TRS Queue | Works That Require Cleanup of Complaining | Troper WallSince it's not allowed to even mention them anymore on TLP, we should only talk about them on Why Fandom Can't Have Nice Things and the Timeline, cut any mention of them, Troper Tales, and Fetish Fuel on the Funny page.

Rock'n'roll never dies!Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity
- Tear Jerker: The mere concept of the game. As a prequel to Breath of the Wild and it takes place 100 years ago in the war against Calamity Ganon. Playing as the Champions in particular is going to sting a lot because you know what's going to happen to them. Comparisons to Crisis Core have been thrown a lot because of this.
is it speculative?
Edited by Silverblade2 on Sep 8th 2020 at 12:01:48 PM
Right, but they were talking about all of the Funny examples having to do with vandalism, not just 5T.
Currently Working On: Incorruptible Pure PurenessI wouldn't say "speculative", exactly, but something still tells me we shouldn't have that.
SoundCloudThat was the original purpose of this thread. Get rid of blatant exaggerations on moments pages.
Ah OK. I will consult this thread whenever I find blatant non-applicable Moments examples.
TRS Queue | Works That Require Cleanup of Complaining | Troper WallWe don't trope "mere concepts." We trope works. That Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity entry is written in the future tense, but we don't trope the future. Call it speculation, call it shoehorning, call it whatever you want. It's garbage, cut it.
Yeah, there's no way to predict that a work will make you feel a certain way. It's purely organic; you can't speculate how you'll feel. I mean, okay, you can, kinda, but you can never be sure you'll actually feel that way.
Currently Working On: Incorruptible Pure PurenessAlright so I tried to make a Sinfest cleanup but it fizzled out almost immediately so I'm just gonna bring these here:
The Awesome, Funny, Heartwarming, and Tear Jerker pages have major ZCE and Weblinks Are Not Examples problems — some ZCEs don't even do that!
I already cut the Nightmare Fuel page because it had nothing salvageable, but I can see from a quick glace there are at least some examples that try to explain what happens on the other moments pages. I just don't know if there's enough to keep the pages itself.

Jawbreakers on sale for 99¢The Funny page for Wikipedia has two entries about Wiki Vandals named Willy on Wheels and Grawp. Should we be really glamorizing something that isn't allowed on Wikipedia nor TV Tropes?

Found these on Funny. The New Mutants:
- The Comic Con At Home panel opens with the cancelled release dates, then there are a bunch of comments about the delays appearing. Some of them are:
- "The Mutants are old enough to rent a car in the State of Vermont at this point"
"There are only 3 constants in life: Death, Taxes, and the inevitable delay of The New Mutants."
"I couldn't even vote when this trailer came out. Now I'm 40 and balding."
"On a scale from 0 to New Mutants, how cursed are you?"
"Wait, maybe the New Mutants are ACTUALLY stuck in Limbo?"
- A promotional video including the casts guess whether or not certain phobias are real.
- Hilarious in Hindsight: Tenet was delayed several times due to Covid-19 — so was New Mutants, New Mutants was already delayed before. A satirical French film news Twitter account announced ''Tenet'' was delayed "until New Mutants was released". They actually ended being released same day.
For once, a valid Hindsight example.
Valid for the Twitter account, not for New Mutants. It should be moved to the Web Original subpage or something.
I do some cleanup and then I enjoy shows you probably think are cringe. The Backyardigans has only two examples, and one of them is meta. Don't know about the other example. Any help?
TRS Queue | Works That Require Cleanup of Complaining | Troper Wall"Actor passing away is a Tear Jerker" is the kind of basic example that led to cutting TearJerker.Real Life. The actual example can probably be moved to YMMV.
I do some cleanup and then I enjoy shows you probably think are cringe.Eh, the first Backyardigans example seems like it has a happy ending, so I don't think it really counts since the sad mood will be gone by the end of the episode.
The things in my dreams wish they could chase me!Can’t the examples just go on YMMV?
EDIT: Neither example seems valid, actually.
Edited by PurpleEyedGuma on Sep 14th 2020 at 2:50:34 PM
Alright, I will remove the example I moved to YMMV.

There are some valid moments that were added more recently (like some funny things that happened on the forum), but I tried to comment out a lot of the ZCE on the Funny page and there were so many ZCE. I think it's probably better to just cut the ZCE rather than comment them out because they're usually referring to something that's changed on the wiki (like photos and descriptions) anyway. And content like "this entire trope's existence" feels too close to auto-erotic troping.
